Reid Kleckner 05da2fe521 Sink all InitializePasses.h includes
This file lists every pass in LLVM, and is included by Pass.h, which is
very popular. Every time we add, remove, or rename a pass in LLVM, it
caused lots of recompilation.

I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the
number of times a file was changed over the last 100,000 git commits
multiplied by the number of object files that depend on it in the
current checkout:
  recompiles touches affected_files header
  342380 95 3604 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h
  314730 234 1345 llvm/include/llvm/InitializePasses.h
  307036 118 2602 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/APInt.h
  213049 59 3611 llvm/include/llvm/Support/MathExtras.h
  170422 47 3626 llvm/include/llvm/Support/Compiler.h
  162225 45 3605 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Optional.h
  158319 63 2513 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Triple.h
  140322 39 3598 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/StringRef.h
  137647 59 2333 llvm/include/llvm/Support/Error.h
  131619 73 1803 llvm/include/llvm/Support/FileSystem.h

Before this change, touching InitializePasses.h would cause 1345 files
to recompile. After this change, touching it only causes 550 compiles in
an incremental rebuild.

Chandler Carruth 2946cd7010 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo
to reflect the new license.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

Matt Arsenault 921f7a27cc StackSlotColoring: Decide colors per stack ID
I thought I fixed this in r308673, but that fix was
very broken. The assumption that any frame index can be used
in place of another was more widespread than I realized.
Even when stack slot sharing was disabled, this was still
replacing frame index uses with a different ID with a different
stack slot.

Really fix this by doing the coloring per-stack ID, so all of
the coloring logically done in a separate namespace. This is a lot
simpler than trying to figure out how to change the color if
the stack ID is different.

Nicola Zaghen d34e60ca85 Rename DEBUG macro to LLVM_DEBUG.
The DEBUG() macro is very generic so it might clash with other projects.
The renaming was done as follows:
- git grep -l 'DEBUG' | xargs sed -i 's/\bDEBUG\s\?(/LLVM_DEBUG(/g'
- git diff -U0 master | ../clang/tools/clang-format/clang-format-diff.py -i -p1 -style LLVM
- Manual change to APInt
- Manually chage DOCS as regex doesn't match it.

In the transition period the DEBUG() macro is still present and aliased
to the LLVM_DEBUG() one.

Shiva Chen 801bf7ebbe [DebugInfo] Examine all uses of isDebugValue() for debug instructions.
Because we create a new kind of debug instruction, DBG_LABEL, we need to
check all passes which use isDebugValue() to check MachineInstr is debug
instruction or not. When expelling debug instructions, we should expel
both DBG_VALUE and DBG_LABEL. So, I create a new function,
isDebugInstr(), in MachineInstr to check whether the MachineInstr is
debug instruction or not.

This patch has no new test case. I have run regression test and there is
no difference in regression test.

Warren Ristow b960d2cb40 [X86] Account for partial stack slot spills (PR30821)
Previously, _any_ store or load instruction was considered to be
operating on a spill if it had a frameindex as an operand, and thus
was fair game for optimisations such as "StackSlotColoring". This
usually works, except on architectures where spills can be partially
restored, for example on X86 where a spilt vector can have a single
component loaded (zeroing the rest of the target register). This can be
mis-interpreted and the zero extension unsoundly eliminated, see
pr30821.

To avoid this, this commit optionally provides the caller to
isLoadFromStackSlot and isStoreToStackSlot with the number of bytes
spilt/loaded by the given instruction. Optimisations can then determine
that a full spill followed by a partial load (or vice versa), for
example, cannot necessarily be commuted.

Mandeep Singh Grang e92f0cfe34 [CodeGen] Change std::sort to llvm::sort in response to r327219
Summary:
r327219 added wrappers to std::sort which randomly shuffle the container before sorting.
This will help in uncovering non-determinism caused due to undefined sorting
order of objects having the same key.

To make use of that infrastructure we need to invoke llvm::sort instead of std::sort.

Note: This patch is one of a series of patches to replace *all* std::sort to llvm::sort.

Matt Arsenault db78273b6e Add an ID field to StackObjects
On AMDGPU SGPR spills are really spilled to another register.
The spiller creates the spills to new frame index objects,
which is used as a placeholder.

This will eventually be replaced with a reference to a position
in a VGPR to write to and the frame index deleted. It is
most likely not a real stack location that can be shared
with another stack object.

This is a problem when StackSlotColoring decides it should
combine a frame index used for a normal VGPR spill with
a real stack location and a frame index used for an SGPR.

Add an ID field so that StackSlotColoring has a way
of knowing the different frame index types are
incompatible.

Chandler Carruth 6bda14b313 Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now
clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every
line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise
LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days.

I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes
isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on
particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately)
or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that
I didn't want to disturb in this patch.

This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or
anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format
over your #include lines in the files.

Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things
stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant
re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch
at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving
conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again).

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 9cfc75c214 CodeGen: Use MachineInstr& in TargetInstrInfo, NFC
This is mostly a mechanical change to make TargetInstrInfo API take
MachineInstr& (instead of MachineInstr* or MachineBasicBlock::iterator)
when the argument is expected to be a valid MachineInstr. This is a
general API improvement.

Although it would be possible to do this one function at a time, that
would demand a quadratic amount of churn since many of these functions
call each other. Instead I've done everything as a block and just
updated what was necessary.

This is mostly mechanical fixes: adding and removing `*` and `&`
operators. The only non-mechanical change is to split
ARMBaseInstrInfo::getOperandLatencyImpl out from
ARMBaseInstrInfo::getOperandLatency. Previously, the latter took a
`MachineInstr*` which it updated to the instruction bundle leader; now,
the latter calls the former either with the same `MachineInstr&` or the
bundle leader.

As a side effect, this removes a bunch of MachineInstr* to
MachineBasicBlock::iterator implicit conversions, a necessary step
toward fixing PR26753.

Note: I updated WebAssembly, Lanai, and AVR (despite being
off-by-default) since it turned out to be easy. I couldn't run tests
for AVR since llc doesn't link with it turned on.

Alex Lorenz e40c8a2b26 PseudoSourceValue: Replace global manager with a manager in a machine function.
This commit removes the global manager variable which is responsible for
storing and allocating pseudo source values and instead it introduces a new
manager class named 'PseudoSourceValueManager'. Machine functions now own an
instance of the pseudo source value manager class.

This commit also modifies the 'get...' methods in the 'MachinePointerInfo'
class to construct pseudo source values using the instance of the pseudo
source value manager object from the machine function.

This commit updates calls to the 'get...' methods from the 'MachinePointerInfo'
class in a lot of different files because those calls now need to pass in a
reference to a machine function to those methods.

This change will make it easier to serialize pseudo source values as it will
enable me to transform the mips specific MipsCallEntry PseudoSourceValue
subclass into two target independent subclasses.

David Blaikie 55c6222538 Recommit r231175: Change LiveStackAnalysis::SS2IntervalMap from std::map to std::unordered_map
The order of this container was needed at one point - so, at that point
create a temporary array of pointers, sort those, then iterate them.
This keeps lookup efficient (& the lesser issue, of allowing the use of
emplace... ), object identity preserved, and ordered iteration in the
one place that requires it.

While this has no functional change, I realize it does mean allocating
an extra data structure and performing a sort - so if this looks suspect
to anyone regarding perf characteristics, I'm all ears.

Michael Gottesman 9f49d74413 [block-freq] Refactor LiveInterals::getSpillWeight to use the new MachineBlockFrequencyInfo methods.
This is slightly more interesting than the previous batch of changes.
Specifically:

1. We refactor getSpillWeight to take a MachineBlockFrequencyInfo (MBFI)
object. This enables us to completely encapsulate the actual manner we
use the MachineBlockFrequencyInfo to get our spill weights. This yields
cleaner code since one does not need to fetch the actual block frequency
before getting the spill weight if all one wants it the spill weight. It
also gives us access to entry frequency which we need for our
computation.

2. Instead of having getSpillWeight take a MachineBasicBlock (as one
might think) to look up the block frequency via the MBFI object, we
instead take in a MachineInstr object. The reason for this is that the
method is supposed to return the spill weight for an instruction
according to the comments around the function.

Richard Sandiford b5d9bd6f59 Fix double renaming bug in stack coloring pass
The stack coloring pass renumbered frame indexes with a loop of the form:

  for each frame index FI
for each instruction I that uses FI
for each use of FI in I
        rename FI to FI'

This caused problems if an instruction used two frame indexes F0 and F1
and if F0 was renamed to F1 and F1 to F2. The first time we visited the
instruction we changed F0 to F1, then we changed both F1s to F2.

In other words, the problem was that SSRefs recorded which instructions
used an FI, but not which MachineOperands and MachineMemOperands within
that instruction used it.

This is easily fixed for MachineOperands by walking the instructions
once and processing each operand in turn. There's already a loop to
do that for dead store elimination, so it seemed more efficient to
fuse the two at the block level.

MachineMemOperands are more tricky because they can be shared between
instructions. The patch handles them by making SSRefs an array of
MachineMemOperands rather than an array of MachineInstrs. We might end
up processing the same MachineMemOperand twice, but that's OK because
we always know from the SSRefs index what the original frame index was.

The main advantages here are way better heuristics, taking into account not
just loop depth but also __builtin_expect and other static heuristics and will

pushing the MachineBlockFrequencyInfo analysis into the right places.

This is good for a 5% speedup on zlib's deflate (x86_64), there were some very
