We have seen that on some platforms, SATA device never show any DEVSLP residency. This prevent power gating of SATA IP, which prevent system to transition to low power mode in systems with SLP_S0 aka modern standby systems. The PHY logic is off only in DEVSLP not in slumber. Reference: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets /332995-skylake-i-o-platform-datasheet-volume-1.pdf Section 28.7.6.1 Here driver is trying to do read-modify-write the devslp register. But not resetting the bits for which this driver will modify values (DITO, MDAT and DETO). So simply reset those bits before updating to new values. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
