The impact of the persistent scrollback feature on the code size is rather small, so the config option is removed. The feature stays disabled by default and can be enabled by using the boot command line parameter 'vgacon.scrollback_persistent=1' or by setting VGACON_SOFT_SCROLLBACK_PERSISTENT_ENABLE_BY_DEFAULT=y. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
