- Updates to the handling of expedited grace periods, perhaps most notably parallelizing their initialization. Other changes include fixes from Boqun Feng. - Miscellaneous fixes. These include an nvme fix from Nitzan Carmi that I am carrying because it depends on a new SRCU function cleanup_srcu_struct_quiesced(). This branch also includes fixes from Byungchul Park and Yury Norov. - Updates to reduce lock contention in the rcu_node combining tree. These are in preparation for the consolidation of RCU-bh, RCU-preempt, and RCU-sched into a single flavor, which was requested by Linus Torvalds in response to a security flaw whose root cause included confusion between the multiple flavors of RCU. - Torture-test updates that save their users some time and effort. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
