Yi Zou bc079228e7 ixgbe: Add infrastructure code for FCoE large send offload to 82599
This adds infrastructure code for FCoE Tx side offload feature to
82599, including Fiber Channel CRC calculation, auto insertion of
the start of frame (SOF) and end of frame (EOF) of FCoE packets,
and large send by FCoE Sequence Offload (FSO).

Yi Zou d3a2ae6d31 ixgbe: Add FCoE feature code to 82599
This adds the FCoE feature code ixgbe_fcoe.c to 82599. For a start, this patch
only adds ixgbe_configure_fcoe() to configure related register for FCoE to 82599.
In patches that follow, I will be adding more functions to ixgbe_fcoe.c to add
support of FCoE offload features to 82599.

Yi Zou e92cbeac89 ixgbe: Add FCoE feature header to 82599
This adds the FCoE feature header ixgbe_fcoe.h to 82599. This header includes
the defines and structures required by the ixgbe driver to support various
offload features in 82599 for Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). These offloads
features include Fiber Channel CRC calculation, FCoE SOF/EOF auto insertion,
FCoE Sequence Offload (FSO) for large send, and Direct Data Placement (DDP)
for large receive.

Don Skidmore bf069c9726 ixgbe: fix failing to log fan failures
We weren't logging the 82598AT fan failure if it occurred before (ixgbe_open)
as we hadn't sent up to catch the interrupt that event caused.

This patch checks for this failure in:
ixgbe_probe - So we can log the failure asap. We check right after we
set up the adapter->flags, which is when we know that we have a fan.
ixgbe_up_complete - To catch failures that may have happened between probe
and when we set up the interrupt that would normally detect the fan failure.

To enable all of this we need to initialize the adapter flag with
IXGBE_FLAG_FAN_FAIL_CAPABLE when the NIC contained a fan.

gouji-new 9ce77666da ixgbe: Proposed PARCH PCIE legacy I/O port free intel 10Gb NIC driver
Traditionally Intel based NIC drivers request I/O port even though it
doesn't need that really.

Intel PCIE 10Gb driver (ixgbe) also requests I/O port but it doesn't
need it either.

This is a little inconvenient situation because sometimes we have to
handle those cards on the slots where any I/O space is not attached.

So we made pach which makes ixgbe driver legacy I/O port free.

Alexander Duyck f8212f979f ixgbe: enable HW RSC for 82599
This patch enables hardware receive side coalescing for 82599 hardware.
82599 can merge multiple frames from the same TCP/IP flow into a single
structure that can span one ore more descriptors. The accumulated data is
arranged similar to how jumbo frames are arranged with the exception that
other packets can be interlaced inbetween. To overcome this issue a next
pointer is included in the written back descriptor which indicates the next
descriptor in the writeback sequence.

This feature sets the NETIF_F_LRO flag and clearing it via the ethtool set
flags operation will also disable hardware RSC.

Jesse Brandeburg 5438646724 ixgbe: fix link down initial state
As reported by Andrew Lutomirski <amluto@gmail.com>

All the intel wired ethernet drivers were calling netif_carrier_off
and netif_stop_queue (or variants) before calling register_netdevice

This is incorrect behavior as was pointed out by davem, and causes
ifconfig and friends to report a strange state before first link
after the driver was loaded, since without a netif_carrier_off, the stack
assumes carrier_on, but before register_netdev, netlink messages are not
sent out telling link state.

This apparently confused *some* versions of networkmanager.

Don't do the num_tx_queues based masking on calculating tx queue

 1) num_tx_queues is not always power-of-2, because it also depends on

 2) queue_mapping will be limited by real_num_tx_queues=num_tx_queues

PJ Waskiewicz 553b449784 ixgbe: Remove unnecessary PHY reset, properly identify multispeed fiber modules
This patch does two things:
1) On 82599, the PHY is emedded in the MAC. On 82598, the SFP+ NIC has an external PHY. The reset in the SFP+ setup patch for 82598 is unnecessary on 82599, and adds extra dead time to device initialization. This removes that PHY reset for 82599 only.

2) On 82599, the SFP+ modules are multispeed fiber modules (10G/1G). We need to make sure to identify them properly for the remaining init sections to properly set them up.

Don Skidmore 54037505a5 ixgbe: fix for 82598 Si errata causing buffer overflow
The failure happens when an interrupt occurs and the driver is reading
EICR. This read will cause a clear-by-read which leads to two TLP
being inserted in the PCIe retry buffer leading to an overflow of the
buffer and corruption of TLPs.

The solution is different depending where the reading of EICR takes place.

For ixgbe_msix_lsc() since we are in MSIX mode and know OCD is enabled a
clear-by-write is done instead of the normal clear-by-read.

For ixgbe_intr() 0xffffffff is written to EIMC before the read, masking the
interrupts.

Now that our set_num_queues() routines for each feature are re-entrant, and

This adds support for Data Center Bridging (DCB) features in the ixgbe

which allows bandwidth guarantees to be allocated to groups to traffic

Wang Chen 454d7c9b14 netdevice: safe convert to netdev_priv() #part-1
We have some reasons to kill netdev->priv:
1. netdev->priv is equal to netdev_priv().
2. netdev_priv() wraps the calculation of netdev->priv's offset, obviously
netdev_priv() is more flexible than netdev->priv.
But we cann't kill netdev->priv, because so many drivers reference to it
directly.

This patch is a safe convert for netdev->priv to netdev_priv(netdev).
Since all of the netdev->priv is only for read.
But it is too big to be sent in one mail.
I split it to 4 parts and make every part smaller than 100,000 bytes,
which is max size allowed by vger.

David S. Miller fd2ea0a79f net: Use queue aware tests throughout.
This effectively "flips the switch" by making the core networking
and multiqueue-aware drivers use the new TX multiqueue structures.

Non-multiqueue drivers need no changes. The interfaces they use such
as netif_stop_queue() degenerate into an operation on TX queue zero.
So everything "just works" for them.

Code that really wants to do "X" to all TX queues now invokes a
routine that does so, such as netif_tx_wake_all_queues(),
netif_tx_stop_all_queues(), etc.

pktgen and netpoll required a little bit more surgery than the others.

In particular the pktgen changes, whilst functional, could be largely
improved. The initial check in pktgen_xmit() will sometimes check the
wrong queue, which is mostly harmless. The thing to do is probably to
invoke fill_packet() earlier.

The bulk of the netpoll changes is to make the code operate solely on
the TX queue indicated by by the SKB queue mapping.

Setting of the SKB queue mapping is entirely confined inside of
net/core/dev.c:dev_pick_tx(). If we end up needing any kind of
special semantics (drops, for example) it will be implemented here.

Finally, we now have a "real_num_tx_queues" which is where the driver
indicates how many TX queues are actually active.

With IGB changes from Jeff Kirsher.

Ayyappan Veeraiyan f494e8faa7 ixgbe: Introduce adaptive interrupt moderation
82598 can produce a formidable interrupt rate, and is largely
unusable without some form of moderation. The default behaviour
before this patch is to limit irq's to a reasonable number.
However, just like our other drivers we can reduce latency
for small packet-type traffic considerably by allowing the
irq rate to go up dynamically.

This patch introduces a simple irq moderation algorithm based
on traffic analysis. The driver will use more CPU to service
small packets quicker but will perform the same on bulk traffic
as the old code.

Ayyappan Veeraiyan 021230d40a ixgbe: Introduce MSI-X queue vector code
This code abstracts the per-queue MSI-X interrupt vector into
a queue vector layer. This abstraction is needed since there can
be many more queues than available MSI-X vectors in a machine.

The MSI-X irq vectors are remapped to a shared queue vector which
can point to several (both RX and TX) hardware queues. The NAPI
algorithm then cleans the appropriate ring/queues on interrupt
or poll.

The remapping is a delicate and complex calculation to make sure
that we're not unbalancing the irq load, and spreads the irqs
as much as possible, and may combine RX and TX flows onto the
same queue vector.

This effectively enables receive flow hashing across vectors
and helps irq load balance across CPUs.
