Arend van Spriel 97ed15c7eb brcmfmac: simplify handling e-scan result firmware event
Upon handling an e-scan result event from the firmware in
brcmf_cfg80211_escan_handler() the status may indicate e-scan
is completed or aborted. If so brcmf_notify_escan_complete()
is called. However, that function and brcmf_cfg80211_escan_handler()
both log the same debug message and both enable MPC flag in the
firmware.

Franky Lin 4531603a7a brcmfmac: clear status for in-band interrupt in brcmf_sdbrcm_isr
SDIO in-band interrupt is level sensitive according to SDIO standard.
When the register interrupt handler gets called by SDIO stack it is
running in non interrupt context and expected to clear the interrupt
from the dongle. Therefore in-band and out-of-band interrupt need to
be handled differently.

Ming Lei e962610f81 wireless: ath9k-htc: fix possible use after free
Inside ath9k_hif_usb_firmware_fail(), the instance of
'struct struct hif_device_usb' may be freed by
ath9k_hif_usb_disconnect() after

	complete(&hif_dev->fw_done);

But 'hif_dev' is still accessed after the line code
above is executed.

This patch fixes the issue by not accessing 'hif_dev'
after 'complete(&hif_dev->fw_done)' inside
ath9k_hif_usb_firmware_fail().

Johannes Berg 513aa3b0d1 iwlwifi: fix async station command crash
Before Emmanuel's change to use a copy of the command
("iwlwifi: get the correct HCMD in the response handler")
the iwl_add_sta_callback() function would have used a
random pointer to somewhere when processing responses
to an async command, while that wasn't valid data it
was at least a valid pointer. Now, the pointer will be
NULL in this case, thus crashing.

Fix this by exiting the function early if no command
is passed back which means it was sent asynchronously.

from the lbs_setup_firmware() path during device init.

This means that device init can complete with commands pending, and
the if_sdio driver will sometimes power down the device (after init)
with this command still pending.

This was causing an occasional spurious command timeout after init,
leading to a device reset.

Fix this by making CMD_MAC_CONTROL synchronous when called from the
lbs_setup_firmware() path.

Amitkumar Karwar 16051b0e24 mwifiex: update adapter->bss_prio_tbl[j].bss_prio_cur correctly
"adapter->bss_prio_tbl[j].bss_prio_head" points to linked list of
interfaces with priority 'j'. "bss_prio_tbl[j].bss_prio_cur" is
supposed to point to next interface every time the routine for
dequeuing the packet is called. This ensures that each interface
gets fair chance.

Currently we have AP and station interfaces with priority '0'.
Therefore "adapter->bss_prio_tbl[0].bss_prio_cur" should
alternately point to AP and station nodes. Since "bss_prio_cur"
is not correctly updated, for each packet picked for AP, two
packets are picked for station interface.

This patch fixes the problem by correctly updating "bss_prio_cur".

Amitkumar Karwar a458c0ae6c mwifiex: have same priority for AP and station traffic
Currently AP interface has higher priority over station. Hence
separate entries are created in "adapter->bss_prio_tbl" for these
interfaces and station packet is dequeued only if there is not
packet in queue for AP. It is observed that ping for station
interface doesn't work if heavy traffic is running on AP.

The problem is fixed by having same priority for both the
interfaces. This patch also removes an extra initialisation
for "priv->bss_priority".

Instead of allocating one big chunk of DMA-coherent

The advantage is that we don't need DMA memory for

Emmanuel Grumbach 7439046d97 iwlwifi: don't access the HW when it is not available
When we kill the radio with the RF kill button we could access
the HW after having stopped the APM which would result in the
warning below.

The flow goes like this:
* RF kill
	iwlwifi notifies the stack which stops the driver
	fw sends CARD_STATE_NOTIFICATION
* iwl_trans_pcie_stop_device stops the APM
* the tasklet runs and calls to iwl_rx_handle
* iwl_rx_handle calls iwl_rx_queue_restock
* iwl_rx_queue_restock tries to access the HW...

Sujith Manoharan adfbda6224 ath9k: Fix TX filter usage
The TX filter bit for a station would be set by the HW
when a frame is not acked. A frame would be completed with
ATH9K_TXERR_FILT status only when the corresponding filter bit
for the destination station is already set.

Currently, un-acknowledged packets are added to the pending queue
and retried, but the "clear_dest_mask" bit in the descriptor is
set only when the TX status has been ATH9K_TXERR_FILT. This results
in packet loss and the log shows:

wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746071
wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746076
wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746377
...
...

This issue can be resolved by making sure that the destination
mask is cleared when the packet is being retried and the earlier
TX status is ATH9K_TXERR_XRETRY.

Ming Lei 32e31de5c3 wireless: ath9k-htc: only load firmware in need
It is not necessary to hold the firmware memory during the whole
driver lifetime, and obviously it does waste memory. Suppose there
are 4 ath9k-htc usb dongles working, kernel has to consume about
4*50KBytes RAM to cache firmware for all dongles. After applying the
patch, kernel only caches one single firmware image in RAM for
all ath9k-htc devices just during system suspend/resume cycle.

When system is ready for loading firmware, ath9k-htc can request
the loading from usersapce. During system resume, ath9k-htc still
can load the firmware which was cached in kernel memory before
system suspend.

John W. Linville 777bf135b7 Merge branch 'master' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linville/wireless into for-davem
John W. Linville says:

====================
Please pull these fixes intended for 3.6. There are more commits
here than I would like -- I got a bit behind while I was stalking
Steven Rostedt in San Diego last week... I'll slow it down after this!

There are a couple of pulls here. One is from Johannes:

"Please pull (according to the below information) to get a few fixes.

 * a fix to properly disconnect in the driver when authentication or
   association fails
 * a fix to prevent invalid information about mesh paths being reported
   to userspace
 * a memory leak fix in an nl80211 error path"

The other comes via Gustavo:

"A few updates for the 3.6 kernel. There are two btusb patches to add
more supported devices through the new USB_VENDOR_AND_INTEFACE_INFO()
macro and another one that add a new device id for a Sony Vaio laptop,
one fix for a user-after-free and, finally, two patches from Vinicius
to fix a issue in SMP pairing."

Along with those...

Arend van Spriel provides a fix for a use-after-free bug in brcmfmac.

Daniel Drake avoids a hang by not trying to touch the libertas hardware
duing suspend if it is already powered-down.

Felix Fietkau provides a batch of ath9k fixes that adress some
potential problems with power settings, as well as a fix to avoid a
potential interrupt storm.

Gertjan van Wingerde provides a register-width fix for rt2x00, and
a rt2x00 fix to prevent incorrectly detecting the rfkill status.
He also provides a device ID patch.

Hante Meuleman gives us three brcmfmac fixes, one that properly
initializes a command structure, one that fixes a race condition that
could lose usb requests, and one that removes some log spam.

Marc Kleine-Budde offers an rt2x00 fix for a voltage setting on some
specific devices.

Mohammed Shafi Shajakhan sent an ath9k fix to avoid a crash related to
using timers that aren't allocated when 2 wire bluetooth coexistence
hardware is in use.

Sergei Poselenov changes rt2800usb to do some validity checking for
received packets, avoiding crashes on an ARM Soc.

Stone Piao gives us an mwifiex fix for an incorrectly set skb length
value for a command buffer.

All of these are localized to their specific drivers, and relatively
small. The power-related patches from Felix are bigger than I would
like, but I merged them in consideration of their isolation to ath9k
and the sensitive nature of power settings in wireless devices.

When the interface is down, the hardware is powered off.
However, the suspend handler currently tries to send host sleep commands

Felix Fietkau b3ccc1a562 ath9k_hw: enable PA linearization
This feature had been disabled in ath9k because the code to support
it was incomplete, but now the code is in sync with the internal QCA
codebase, so it's time to enable it.

On many newer devices, the calibration is assumed to be done with PA
linearization enabled.

Tests with a particular AR933x device showed that the signal emitted
at full power was highly distorted and unreliable with PA linearization
disabled. With this patch, the signal becomes clear and stability
is improved.

Linus Torvalds 8f8ba75ee2 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Pull networking update from David Miller:
 "A couple weeks of bug fixing in there. The largest chunk is all the
  broken crap Amerigo Wang found in the netpoll layer."

 1) netpoll and it's users has several serious bugs:
    a) uses GFP_KERNEL with locks held
    b) interfaces requiring interrupts disabled are called with them
       enabled
    c) and vice versa
    d) VLAN tag demuxing, as per all other RX packet input paths, is not
       applied

    All from Amerigo Wang.

 2) Hopefully cure the ipv4 mapped ipv6 address TCP early demux bugs for
    good, from Neal Cardwell.

 3) Unlike AF_UNIX, AF_PACKET sockets don't set a default credentials
    when the user doesn't specify one explicitly during sendmsg().
    Instead we attach an empty (zero) SCM credential block which is
    definitely not what we want. Fix from Eric Dumazet.

 4) IPv6 illegally invokes netdevice notifiers with RCU lock held, fix
    from Ben Hutchings.

 5) inet_csk_route_child_sock() checks wrong inet options pointer, fix
    from Christoph Paasch.

 6) When AF_PACKET is used for transmit, packet loopback doesn't behave
    properly when a socket fanout is enabled, from Eric Leblond.

 7) On bluetooth l2cap channel create failure, we leak the socket, from
    Jaganath Kanakkassery.

 8) Fix all the netprio file handling bugs found by Al Viro, from John
    Fastabend.

 9) Several error return and NULL deref bug fixes in networking drivers
    from Julia Lawall.

10) A large smattering of struct padding et al. kernel memory leaks to
    userspace found of Mathias Krause.

11) Conntrack expections in netfilter can access an uninitialized timer,
    fix from Pablo Neira Ayuso.

12) Several netfilter SIP tracker bug fixes from Patrick McHardy.

13) IPSEC ipv6 routes are not initialized correctly all the time,
    resulting in an OOPS in inet_putpeer(). Also from Patrick McHardy.

14) Bridging does rcu_dereference() outside of RCU protected area, from
    Stephen Hemminger.

15) Fix routing cache removal performance regression when looking up
    output routes that have a local destination. From Zheng Yan.

Thomas Huehn 3a245cbef6 ath5k: fix wrong max power per rate eeprom reads for 802.11a
This patch reduces the per rate target power eeprom reads for
AR5K_EEPROM_MODE_11A from 10 to 8, as there are only 8 valid
power curve entries on the eeprom. The former 10 reads lead to
equal max power limits per rate and this causes an increasing
distortion for all rates above 24 MBit and leads to a needless
poor performance in 802.11a mode.

Tejun Heo 43829731dd workqueue: deprecate flush[_delayed]_work_sync()
flush[_delayed]_work_sync() are now spurious. Mark them deprecated
and convert all users to flush[_delayed]_work().

If you're cc'd and wondering what's going on: Now all workqueues are
non-reentrant and the regular flushes guarantee that the work item is
not pending or running on any CPU on return, so there's no reason to
use the sync flushes at all and they're going away.

This patch doesn't make any functional difference.

Tejun Heo 41f63c5359 workqueue: use mod_delayed_work() instead of cancel + queue
Convert delayed_work users doing cancel_delayed_work() followed by
queue_delayed_work() to mod_delayed_work().

Most conversions are straight-forward. Ones worth mentioning are,

* drivers/edac/edac_mc.c: edac_mc_workq_setup() converted to always
  use mod_delayed_work() and cancel loop in
  edac_mc_reset_delay_period() is dropped.

* drivers/platform/x86/thinkpad_acpi.c: No need to remember whether
  watchdog is active or not. @fan_watchdog_active and related code
  dropped.

* drivers/power/charger-manager.c: Seemingly a lot of
  delayed_work_pending() abuse going on here.
  [delayed_]work_pending() are unsynchronized and racy when used like
  this. I converted one instance in fullbatt_handler(). Please
  conver the rest so that it invokes workqueue APIs for the intended
  target state rather than trying to game work item pending state
  transitions. e.g. if timer should be modified - call
  mod_delayed_work(), canceled - call cancel_delayed_work[_sync]().

* drivers/thermal/thermal_sys.c: thermal_zone_device_set_polling()
  simplified. Note that round_jiffies() calls in this function are
  meaningless. round_jiffies() work on absolute jiffies not delta
  delay used by delayed_work.

v2: Tomi pointed out that __cancel_delayed_work() users can't be
    safely converted to mod_delayed_work(). They could be calling it
    from irq context and if that happens while delayed_work_timer_fn()
    is running, it could deadlock. __cancel_delayed_work() users are
    dropped.

Bob Copeland 7dd6753f6d ath5k: fix spin_lock_irqsave/spin_lock_bh nesting in mesh
Lockdep found an inconsistent lock state when joining a mesh with
ath5k. The problem is that ath5k takes the lock for its beacon state,
ah->block, with spin_lock_irqsave(), while mesh internally takes the
sync_offset_lock with spin_lock_bh() in mesh_sync_offset_adjust_tbtt(),
which in turn is called under ah->block.

This could deadlock if the beacon tasklet was run on the processor
that held the beacon lock during the do_softirq() in spin_unlock_bh().

We probably shouldn't hold the lock around the callbacks, but the
easiest fix is to switch to spin_lock_bh for ah->block: it doesn't
need interrupts disabled anyway as the data in question is only accessed
in softirq or process context.

Fixes the following lockdep warning:

Lorenzo Bianconi e1352fde56 ath9k: fix decrypt_error initialization in ath_rx_tasklet()
ath_rx_tasklet() calls ath9k_rx_skb_preprocess() and ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess()
in a loop over the received frames. The decrypt_error flag is
initialized to false
just outside ath_rx_tasklet() loop. ath9k_rx_accept(), called by
ath9k_rx_skb_preprocess(),
only sets decrypt_error to true and never to false.
Then ath_rx_tasklet() calls ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess() and passes
decrypt_error to it.
So, after a decryption error, in ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess(), we can
have a leftover value
from another processed frame. In that case, the frame will not be marked with
RX_FLAG_DECRYPTED even if it is decrypted correctly.
When using CCMP encryption this issue can lead to connection stuck
because of CCMP
PN corruption and a waste of CPU time since mac80211 tries to decrypt an already
deciphered frame with ieee80211_aes_ccm_decrypt.
Fix the issue initializing decrypt_error flag at the begging of the
ath_rx_tasklet() loop.

Jeff Mahoney faa97bd4a4 brcmsmac: document firmware dependencies
The brcmsmac driver requests firmware but doesn't document the
dependency. This means that software that analyzes the modules to
determine if firmware is needed won't detect it.

Specifically, (at least) openSUSE won't install the kernel-firmware
package if no hardware requires it.

This patch adds the MODULE_FIRMWARE directives.
