Eric Dumazet b027055022 ipv6: fib6_info_destroy_rcu() cleanup
We do not need to clear f6i->rt6i_exception_bucket right before
freeing f6i.

Note that f6i->rt6i_exception_bucket is properly protected by
f6i->exception_bucket_flushed being set to one in rt6_flush_exceptions()
under the protection of rt6_exception_lock.

David Ahern effda4dd97 ipv6: Pass fib6_result to fib lookups
Change fib6_lookup and fib6_table_lookup to take a fib6_result and set
f6i and nh rather than returning a fib6_info. For now both always
return 0.

A later patch set can make these more like the IPv4 counterparts and
return EINVAL, EACCESS, etc based on fib6_type.

David Ahern bdf0046771 net: Replace nhc_has_gw with nhc_gw_family
Allow the gateway in a fib_nh_common to be from a different address
family than the outer fib{6}_nh. To that end, replace nhc_has_gw with
nhc_gw_family and update users of nhc_has_gw to check nhc_gw_family.
Now nhc_family is used to know if the nh_common is part of a fib_nh
or fib6_nh (used for container_of to get to route family specific data),
and nhc_gw_family represents the address family for the gateway.

David Ahern ad1601ae02 ipv6: Rename fib6_nh entries
Rename fib6_nh entries that will be moved to a fib_nh_common struct.
Specifically, the device, gateway, flags, and lwtstate are common
with all nexthop definitions. In some places new temporary variables
are declared or local variables renamed to maintain line lengths.

Rename only; no functional change intended.

David Ahern 2b2450ca4a ipv6: Move gateway checks to a fib6_nh setting
The gateway setting is not per fib6_info entry but per-fib6_nh. Add a new
fib_nh_has_gw flag to fib6_nh and convert references to RTF_GATEWAY to
the new flag. For IPv6 address the flag is cheaper than checking that
nh_gw is non-0 like IPv4 does.

While this increases fib6_nh by 8-bytes, the effective allocation size of
a fib6_info is unchanged. The 8 bytes is recovered later with a
fib_nh_common change.

David Ahern 73155879b3 ipv6: Fix dump of specific table with strict checking
Dump of a specific table with strict checking enabled is looping. The
problem is that the end of the table dump is not marked in the cb. When
dumping a specific table, cb args 0 and 1 are not used (they are the hash
index and entry with an hash table index when dumping all tables). Re-use
args[0] to hold a 'done' flag for the specific table dump.

David Ahern effe679266 net: Enable kernel side filtering of route dumps
Update parsing of route dump request to enable kernel side filtering.
Allow filtering results by protocol (e.g., which routing daemon installed
the route), route type (e.g., unicast), table id and nexthop device. These
amount to the low hanging fruit, yet a huge improvement, for dumping
routes.

ip_valid_fib_dump_req is called with RTNL held, so __dev_get_by_index can
be used to look up the device index without taking a reference. From
there filter->dev is only used during dump loops with the lock still held.

Set NLM_F_DUMP_FILTERED in the answer_flags so the user knows the results
have been filtered should no entries be returned.

David Ahern 7c6bb7d2fa net/ipv6: Add knob to skip DELROUTE message on device down
Another difference between IPv4 and IPv6 is the generation of RTM_DELROUTE
notifications when a device is taken down (admin down) or deleted. IPv4
does not generate a message for routes evicted by the down or delete;
IPv6 does. A NOS at scale really needs to avoid these messages and have
IPv4 and IPv6 behave similarly, relying on userspace to handle link
notifications and evict the routes.

At this point existing user behavior needs to be preserved. Since
notifications are a global action (not per app) the only way to preserve
existing behavior and allow the messages to be skipped is to add a new
sysctl (net/ipv6/route/skip_notify_on_dev_down) which can be set to
disable the notificatioons.

IPv6 route code already supports the option to skip the message (it is
used for multipath routes for example). Besides the new sysctl we need
to pass the skip_notify setting through the generic fib6_clean and
fib6_walk functions to fib6_clean_node and to set skip_notify on calls
to __ip_del_rt for the addrconf_ifdown path.

David Ahern e8ba330ac0 rtnetlink: Update fib dumps for strict data checking
Add helper to check netlink message for route dumps. If the strict flag
is set the dump request is expected to have an rtmsg struct as the header.
All elements of the struct are expected to be 0 with the exception of
rtm_flags (which is used by both ipv4 and ipv6 dumps) and no attributes
can be appended. rtm_flags can only have RTM_F_CLONED and RTM_F_PREFIX
set.

David Ahern 15a81b418e net/ipv6: Only update MTU metric if it set
Jan reported a regression after an update to 4.18.5. In this case ipv6
default route is setup by systemd-networkd based on data from an RA. The
RA contains an MTU of 1492 which is used when the route is first inserted
but then systemd-networkd pushes down updates to the default route
without the mtu set.

Prior to the change to fib6_info, metrics such as MTU were held in the
dst_entry and rt6i_pmtu in rt6_info contained an update to the mtu if
any. ip6_mtu would look at rt6i_pmtu first and use it if set. If not,
the value from the metrics is used if it is set and finally falling
back to the idev value.

After the fib6_info change metrics are contained in the fib6_info struct
and there is no equivalent to rt6i_pmtu. To maintain consistency with
the old behavior the new code should only reset the MTU in the metrics
if the route update has it set.

Ido Schimmel 6eba08c362 ipv6: Only emit append events for appended routes
Current code will emit an append event in the FIB notification chain for
any route added with NLM_F_APPEND set, even if the route was not
appended to any existing route.

This is inconsistent with IPv4 where such an event is only emitted when
the new route is appended after an existing one.

Align IPv6 behavior with IPv4, thereby allowing listeners to more easily
handle these events.

David Ahern f34436a430 net/ipv6: Simplify route replace and appending into multipath route
Bring consistency to ipv6 route replace and append semantics.

Remove rt6_qualify_for_ecmp which is just guess work. It fails in 2 cases:
1. can not replace a route with a reject route. Existing code appends
a new route instead of replacing the existing one.

2. can not have a multipath route where a leg uses a dev only nexthop

Existing use cases affected by this change:
1. adding a route with existing prefix and metric using NLM_F_CREATE
without NLM_F_APPEND or NLM_F_EXCL (ie., what iproute2 calls
'prepend'). Existing code auto-determines that the new nexthop can
be appended to an existing route to create a multipath route. This
change breaks that by requiring the APPEND flag for the new route
to be added to an existing one. Instead the prepend just adds another
   route entry.

2. route replace. Existing code replaces first matching multipath route
if new route is multipath capable and fallback to first matching
non-ECMP route (reject or dev only route) in case one isn't available.
New behavior replaces first matching route. (Thanks to Ido for spotting
   this one)

Note: Newer iproute2 is needed to display multipath routes with a dev-only
nexthop. This is due to a bug in iproute2 and parsing nexthops.

David Ahern 138118ec96 net/ipv6: Add fib6_lookup
Add IPv6 equivalent to fib_lookup. Does a fib lookup, including rules,
but returns a FIB entry, fib6_info, rather than a dst based rt6_info.
fib6_lookup is any where from 140% (MULTIPLE_TABLES config disabled)
to 60% faster than any of the dst based lookup methods (without custom
rules) and 25% faster with custom rules (e.g., l3mdev rule).

Since the lookup function has a completely different signature,
fib6_rule_action is split into 2 paths: the existing one is
renamed __fib6_rule_action and a new one for the fib6_info path
is added. fib6_rule_action decides which to call based on the
lookup_ptr. If it is fib6_table_lookup then the new path is taken.

Caller must hold rcu lock as no reference is taken on the returned
fib entry.

David Ahern a68886a691 net/ipv6: Make from in rt6_info rcu protected
When a dst entry is created from a fib entry, the 'from' in rt6_info
is set to the fib entry. The 'from' reference is used most notably for
cookie checking - making sure stale dst entries are updated if the
fib entry is changed.

When a fib entry is deleted, the pcpu routes on it are walked releasing
the fib6_info reference. This is needed for the fib6_info cleanup to
happen and to make sure all device references are released in a timely
manner.

There is a race window when a FIB entry is deleted and the 'from' on the
pcpu route is dropped and the pcpu route hits a cookie check. Handle
this race using rcu on from.

David Ahern 23fb93a4d3 net/ipv6: Cleanup exception and cache route handling
IPv6 FIB will only contain FIB entries with exception routes added to
the FIB entry. Once this transformation is complete, FIB lookups will
return a fib6_info with the lookup functions still returning a dst
based rt6_info. The current code uses rt6_info for both paths and
overloads the rt6_info variable usually called 'rt'.

This patch introduces a new 'f6i' variable name for the result of the FIB
lookup and keeps 'rt' as the dst based return variable. 'f6i' becomes a
fib6_info in a later patch which is why it is introduced as f6i now;
avoids the additional churn in the later patch.

In addition, remove RTF_CACHE and dst checks from fib6 add and delete
since they can not happen now and will never happen after the data
type flip.

David Ahern d4ead6b34b net/ipv6: move metrics from dst to rt6_info
Similar to IPv4, add fib metrics to the fib struct, which at the moment
is rt6_info. Will be moved to fib6_info in a later patch. Copy metrics
into dst by reference using refcount.

To make the transition:
- add dst_metrics to rt6_info. Default to dst_default_metrics if no
metrics are passed during route add. No need for a separate pmtu
entry; it can reference the MTU slot in fib6_metrics

- ip6_convert_metrics allocates memory in the FIB entry and uses
ip_metrics_convert to copy from netlink attribute to metrics entry

- the convert metrics call is done in ip6_route_info_create simplifying
  the route add path
  + fib6_commit_metrics and fib6_copy_metrics and the temporary
    mx6_config are no longer needed

- add fib6_metric_set helper to change the value of a metric in the
fib entry since dst_metric_set can no longer be used

- cow_metrics for IPv6 can drop to dst_cow_metrics_generic

- rt6_dst_from_metrics_check is no longer needed

- rt6_fill_node needs the FIB entry and dst as separate arguments to
keep compatibility with existing output. Current dst address is
  renamed to dest.
(to be consistent with IPv4 rt6_fill_node really should be split
into 2 functions similar to fib_dump_info and rt_fill_info)

- rt6_fill_node no longer needs the temporary metrics variable
