renesas_usbhs implements ->pullup() method, switches over
to devm_request_irq(), adds support for DMA Engine and
got a few miscelaneous cleanups.
The NCM gadget got an endianness fix and the Ethernet
gadget a frame size fix.
We're finally removing the g_file_storage gadget and
sticking to g_mass_storage and the new tcm_usb_gadget
gadgets since that was a huge duplicaton of effort anyway.
While removing g_file_storage, we also had to fix a bunch
of defconfigs which were still pointing to the old gadget.
There's a big series getting us closer to being able to
introduce our configfs interface. The series converts
functions into loadable modules which will, eventually,
be registered to the configfs interface.
Other than that there's the usual typo fixes and miscelaneous
cleanups all over the place.

Convert the Alchemy platform to register the ohci-platform driver, now that
the ohci-platform driver properly handles the specific ohci-au1xxx resume
from suspend case.
This also greatly simplifies the power_{on,off} callbacks and make them
work on platform device id instead of checking the OHCI controller base
address like what was done in ohci-au1xxx.c.
Impacted defconfigs are also updated accordingly to select the OHCI platform
driver.

The PB1550 is more or less a DB1550 without the PCI IDE controller,
a more complicated (read: configurable) Flash setup and some other
minor changes. Like the DB1550 it can be automatically detected by
reading the CPLD ID register bits.
This patch adds PB1550 detection and setup to the DB1550 code.

- the net/tr.c which the drivers depended on
- the drivers/net component
- the Kbuild infrastructure around it
- any tokenring related CONFIG_ settings in any defconfigs

Get rid of INLINE_SPIN_UNLOCK entirely replacing it with
UNINLINE_SPIN_UNLOCK instead of the reverse meaning.
Whoever wants to change the default spinlock inlining
behavior and uninline the spinlocks for some weird reason,
such as spinlock debugging, paravirt etc. can now all just
select UNINLINE_SPIN_UNLOCK

guaranteed to always be "mips-linux-gnu-", so simply don't specify one.
A quick "git grep" shows this to be consistent amongst other cross

Similarly, the site specific initramfs source location should not be used,

The PB1200 is basically a DB1200 with additional MMC and camera sockets
and different base addresses for external hardware (CPLD, IDE, Net, NAND).
This patch implements the missing PB1200 features in DB1200 support code
and runtime board detection.
Tested on DB1200 only.

The ns_cgroup is an annoying cgroup at the namespace / cgroup frontier and
leads to some problems:
* cgroup creation is out-of-control
* cgroup name can conflict when pids are looping
* it is not possible to have a single process handling a lot of
namespaces without falling in a exponential creation time
* we may want to create a namespace without creating a cgroup
The ns_cgroup was replaced by a compatibility flag 'clone_children',
where a newly created cgroup will copy the parent cgroup values.
The userspace has to manually create a cgroup and add a task to
the 'tasks' file.
This patch removes the ns_cgroup as suggested in the following thread:

The 'cgroup_clone' function is removed because it is no longer used.
This is a userspace-visible change. Commit 45531757b4 ("cgroup: notify
ns_cgroup deprecated") (merged into 2.6.27) caused the kernel to emit a
printk warning users that the feature is planned for removal. Since that
time we have heard from XXX users who were affected by this.

The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option
is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than
only small devices.
This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes
references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED
option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and
can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be
considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc).
Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only
expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they
are making should enable it.

While most users of a physical Malta board are using the serial port
as the console, a lot of QEMU users would prefer to interact with a
graphical console. Enable the Cirrus FB support in the Malta default
configuration to make that possible. Note that the default console will
still be the serial port, users have to pass "console=tty0" to the
kernel to use the Cirrus FB.

Additional changes to Youichi Yuasa's command line simplication code
The PowerTV platform uses a non-standard way to get the kernel command
line--we insert a built-in command line into arcs_cmdline and to
get additional command line information from the bootloader via a
pointer in the a1 register. It is necessary to insert a space between
to the two strings or the last argument from arcs_cmdline and the first
argument from the bootloader may be inadvertantly combined.
It is also necessary to set CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL to "y" and to set the
default command line to an empty string to get the simplified code to
work properly in the PowerTV environment.

RTC support was rewritten but the defconfig files were not updated. Enable
IPv6 support which for some folks already is a must have. Assign useful

Currently, MIPS kernels silently overwrite kernel command-line parameters
hardcoded in CONFIG_CMDLINE by the ones received from firmware. Therefore,
using firmware remains the only reliable method to transfer the
command-line parameters, which is not always desirable or convenient, and
the CONFIG_CMDLINE option is thereby effectively rendered useless.
This patch fixes the problem described above and introduces a more flexible
scheme of handling the kernel command line, in a manner identical to what is
currently used for x86. The default behavior, i.e. when CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL
is not defined, retains the existing semantics, and firmware command-line
arguments override the hardcoded ones.

Add the Cisco Powertv cable settop box to the MIPS tree. This platform is
based on a MIPS 24Kc processor with various devices integrated on the same
ASIC. There are multiple models of this box, with differing configuration

Add default config file for Lemote Loongson 2F family machines. The
resulting kernel image can be shared between Fuloong 2F, Yeeloong 2F and
other Lemote Loongson 2F family machines.
If you are using an old PMON, and not using a 2f box, please add a new
command line argument in the boot.cfg.
For example, add this argument for 8.9inches notebook:

Enable hibernation support by default. Also enable sparsemem to avoid
the hibernation failures with flatmem and save memory wasted by flatmem.

CONFIG_CPU_HAS_LLSC duplicated the function of cpu_has_llsc for no good
reason and and the results if the one was enabled and the other disabled
was very unobvious. Remove it now that there are no more remaining users.

This driver only reads the user EEPROM of that chip, so we can move it
to the eeprom-directory in order to further clean up (and later remove)
drivers/i2c/chips.
The Kconfig text was updated to match the current functionality,
dropping the meanwhile obsoleted parts.
Defconfigs have been adapted.

The special IP27 DMA code selected by DMA_IP27 has been removed a while
ago turning DMA_IP27 into almost a nop. Also fixup the broken logic of
its last users memcpy.S and memcpy-inatomic.s.

Now that all EEPROM drivers live in the same place, let's harmonize
their symbol names.
Also fix eeprom's dependencies, it definitely needs sysfs, and is no
longer experimental after many years in the kernel tree.

These haven't seen much attention for too long but particularly important
enable RTC_CLASS and CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS so the wall clock time is set on
kernel startup.

With the conversion of MIPS to RTC_LIB the old RTC driver CONFIG_RTC became
unselectable. Fix by setting up a platform device. Also enable
RTC_CLASS so system time gets set from RTC on kernel initialization.

The SWARM defconfig file has not been regenerated for over a year now.
Here is a patch to bring the file up to date. Additionally some important
and sometimes confusing changes happened meanwhile. Here is the list of
notable corresponding updates to the configuration:
1. CPU_SB1_PASS_2_2 is now selected rather than CPU_SB1_PASS_1. The
latter requires a non-standard -msb1-pass1-workarounds option to be
supported by GCC and I am told is quite rare anyway.
[Ralf: Afaik -msb1-pass1-workarounds is available only in Monta Vista's
special Sibyte gcc 3.0 variant and gcc 3.0 is too old to build a modern
kernel anyway.]
2. PHYLIB and BROADCOM_PHY are both built in and NETDEV_1000 enabled as
required by SB1250_MAC.
3. USB and USB_OHCI_HCD are enabled as there is an OHCI chip onboard.
4. TMPFS is enabled, because I use it. ;-)

The Qemu platform was originally implemented to have an easily supportable
platform until Qemu reaches a state where it emulates a real world system.
Since the latest release Qemu is capable of emulating the MIPSsim and
Malta platforms, so this goal has been reached. The Qemu plaform is also
rather underfeatured so less useful than a Malta emulation.

Most Malta use an FPGA CPU card which rarely is good for more than 40MHz.
So the performance penalta of the regular timer interrupt, especially
for the VSMP kernel model is significant, even at a mere 100Hz.

Fix up conflicts manually in Documentation/feature-removal-schedule.txt
and my new least favourite crap, the "mod_devicetable" support in the
files include/linux/mod_devicetable.h and scripts/mod/file2alias.c.
(The latter files seem to be explicitly _designed_ to get conflicts when
different subsystems work with them - that have an absolutely horrid
lack of subsystem separation!)

While the PC speaker is wired up to the i8254 there is more to the i8254
than just the PC speaker so this code was getting in the way under its

The only pseudo-legitimate MIPS user of genrtc was a systems that doesn't
have an RTC in hardware at all. At this point faking one is a little
pointless ...
Use rtc-rs5c348 and at25 spi protocol driver and spi_txx9 spi
controller driver instead of platform dependent codes.
This patch also removes dependencies to old RTC interfaces such as
rtc_mips_get_time, etc.

Neither rtc_mips_get_time nor rtc_mips_set_time are being initialized by
the EMMA2RH setup code, so genrtc at best was a RTC dummy avoiding a few
error messages but not providing actual functionality.
