Linus Torvalds dff8360a4a So this is the LW GPIO patch stack for v3.7:
- refactoring from Thierry Redding at Arnd Bergmann's request to use
the seq_file iterator interface in gpiolib.
 - A new driver for Avionic Design's N-bit GPIO expander.
 - Two instances of mutexes replaced by spinlocks from Axel Lin to
code that is supposed to be fastpath compliant.
 - IRQ demuxer and gpio_to_irq() support for pcf857x by Kuninori
   Morimoto.
 - Dynamic GPIO numbers, device tree support, daisy chaining and some
other fixes for the 74x164 driver by Maxime Ripard.
 - IRQ domain and device tree support for the tc3589x driver by
   Lee Jones.
 - Some conversion to use managed resources devm_* code.
 - Some instances of clk_prepare() or clk_prepare_enable() added to
support the new, stricter common clock framework.
 - Some for_each_set_bit() simplifications.
 - Then a lot of fixes as we fixed up all of the above tripping over
our own shoelaces and that kind of thing.

Kuninori Morimoto 6e20a0a429 gpio: pcf857x: enable gpio_to_irq() support
pcf857x chip has some pins, but interrupt pin is only 1 pin.
And gpiolib requests 1 interrupt per 1 gpio pin.

Thus, this patch added demuxed irq to pcf857x driver,
and enabled gpio_to_irq().

Linus Torvalds 4b24ff7110 The tag contains just a few battery-related changes for v3.6. It's is
all pretty straightforward, except one thing.

One of our patches added thermal support for power supply class, but
thermal/ subsystem changed under our feet. We (well, Stephen, that is)
caught the issue and it was decided[1] that I'd just delay the battery
pull request, and then will fix it up by merging upstream back into
battery tree at the specific commit.

That's not all though: another[2] small fixup for thermal subsystem was
needed to get rid of a warning in power supply subsystem (the warning
was not drivers/power's "fault", the thermal registration function just
needed a proper const annotation, which is also done by a small commit
 on top of the merge.

 So, to sum this up:
 - The 'master' branch of the battery tree was in the -next tree for
   weeks, was never rebased, altered etc. It should be all OK;
 - Although, for-v3.6 tag contains the 'master' branch + merge + the
   warning fix.

Chandrabhanu Mahapatra 6a7b36aa4b GPIO: PCA953X: Increase size of invert variable to support 24 bit
TCA6424 is a low voltage 24 bit I2C and SMBus I/O expander of pca953x family
similar to its 16 bit predecessor TCA6416. It comes with three 8-bit active
Input, Output, Polarity Inversion and Configuration registers each. The polarity
of Input ports can be reversed by setting the appropiate bit in Polarity
Inversion registers.

The variables corresponding to Input, Output and Configuration registers have
already been updated to support 24 bit values. This patch thus updates the
invert variable of PCA953X platform data to support 24 bit.

NeilBrown 411a2df509 regulator: twl-regulator: make TWL4030_ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED more configurable.
The regulators in the twl4030 can provide some voltage settings
that are not offically supported.
These settings are disabled by default, but can be enabled with
  CONFIG_TWL4030_ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED=y
However
 - that config variable is not mentioned in any Kconfig so cannot
   be used, and
 - a global setting is clumsy - a per regulator setting would be
   better.

So define a new 'feature' flag that a board file can set to enable
these unsupported volatages for boards which need them.

This flag cannot (yet) be set using device-tree.

Linus Torvalds be53bfdb80 Merge branch 'drm-next' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux
Pull drm main changes from Dave Airlie:
"This is the main drm pull request, I'm probably going to send two more
  smaller ones, will explain below.

This contains a patch that is also in the fbdev tree, but it should be
the same patch, it added an API for hot unplugging framebuffer
devices, and I need that API for a new driver.

It also contains some changes to the i2c tree which Jean has acked,
and one change to moorestown platform stuff in x86.

  Highlights:
   - new drivers: UDL driver for USB displaylink devices, kms only,
     should support correct hotplug operations.
   - core: i2c speedups + better hotplug support, EDID overriding via
firmware interface - allows user to load a firmware for a broken
monitor/kvm from userspace, it even has documentation for it.
   - exynos: new HDMI audio + hdmi 1.4 + virtual output driver
   - gma500: code cleanup
   - radeon: cleanups, CS optimisations, streamout support and pageflip
     fix
   - nouveau: NVD9 displayport support + more reclocking work
   - i915: re-enabling GMBUS, finish gpu patch (might help hibernation
who knows), missed irq fixes, stencil tiling fixes, interlaced
support, aliasesd PPGTT support for SNB/IVB, swizzling for SNB/IVB,
     semaphore fixes

As well as the usual bunch of cleanups and fixes all over the place.

I've got two things I'd like to merge a bit later:

   a) AMD support for all their new radeonhd 7000 series GPU and APUs.
AMD dropped this a bit late due to insane internal review
processes, (please AMD just follow Intel and let open source guys
ship stuff early) however I don't want to penalise people who own
this hardware (since its been on sale for 3-4 months and GPU hw
doesn't exactly have a lifetime in years) and consign them to
using closed drivers for longer than necessary. The changes are
well contained and just plug into the driver new gpu functionality
so they should be fairly regression proof. I just want to give
them a bit of a run on the hw AMD kindly sent me.

   b) drm prime/dma-buf interface code. This is just infrastructure
code to expose the dma-buf stuff to drm drivers and to userspace.
I'm not planning on pushing any driver support in this cycle
(except maybe exynos), but I'd like to get the infrastructure code
in so for the next cycle I can start getting the driver support
into the individual drivers. We have started driver support for
i915, nouveau and udl along with I think exynos and omap in
staging. However this code relies on the dma-buf tree being
pulled into your tree first since it needs the latest interfaces
from that tree. I'll push to get that tree sent asap.

(oh and any warnings you see in i915 are gcc's fault from what anyone
  can see)."

Fix up trivial conflicts in arch/x86/platform/mrst/mrst.c due to the new
msic_thermal_platform_data() thermal function being added next to the
tc35876x_platform_data() i2c device function..

Benoit Cousson f01b1f90bf mfd: Make twl4030 SIH SPARSE_IRQ capable
twl4030 is using a two level irq controllers infrastruture.
So far, only the first level was using dynamic irq_desc allocation
to be able to have irq_domain support for device tree.
There is a need to allocate separate irq_descs for the SIH too to
avoid hacking the first level with interrupts from the second level.

Add an irq_base parameter to allow the caller to provide the base from
pdata or from dynamic allocation.

Affect TWL4030_NR_IRQS to the twl-core IRQs only.

Moreover that will allow the extraction of the of_node pointer for further
Device Tree conversion.

Thierry Reding 84005eb5ea Input: tsc2007 - add max_rt parameter to platform data
Finger touch events or very quick stylus events on low-quality panels
can cause the tsc2007 to read bogus values. Looking at oscilloscope
snapshots, this seems to be caused by the touch event disappearing
during the measurements. These bogus values result in misclicks, where
the X and Y values deviate from the real position.

Most of these misclicks can be filtered out by setting a low enough
threshold for the maximum resistance (which is loosely the inverse of
the pressure) allowed to consider a set of values valid. Since this
behaviour is largely dependent on the type and quality of the panel,
this commit introduces the max_rt parameter. The default value is kept

Balaji T K 8e6de4a302 regulator: twl: add clk32kg to twl-regulator
In OMAP4 Blaze and Panda, 32KHz clock to WLAN is supplied from Phoenix
TWL6030. The 32KHz clock state (ON/OFF) is configured in
CLK32KG_CFG_[GRP, TRANS, STATE] register. This follows the same register
programming model as other regulators in TWL6030. So add CLK32KG as pseudo
regulator.
