Laurent Pinchart 4ec10bacd6 [media] soc-camera: Add and use soc_camera_power_[on|off]() helper functions
Instead of forcing all soc-camera drivers to go through the mid-layer to
handle power management, create soc_camera_power_[on|off]() functions
that can be called from the subdev .s_power() operation to manage
regulators and platform-specific power handling. This allows non
soc-camera hosts to use soc-camera-aware clients.

Timo Kokkonen c332e8472d [media] media: rc: Introduce RX51 IR transmitter driver
This is the driver for the IR transmitter diode found on the Nokia
N900 (also known as RX51) device. The driver is mostly the same as
found in the original 2.6.28 based kernel that comes with the device.

The following modifications have been made compared to the original
driver version:

- Adopt to the changes that has happen in the kernel during the past
five years, such as the change in the include paths

- The OMAP DM-timers require much more care nowadays. The timers need
to be enabled and disabled or otherwise many actions fail. Timers
must not be freed without first stopping them or otherwise the timer
  cannot be requested again.

The code has been tested with sending IR codes with N900 device
running Debian userland. The device receiving the codes was Anysee
DVB-C USB receiver.

Mauro Carvalho Chehab 9adf6132dc [media] dvb: get rid of fe_ioctl_override callback
This callback were meant to allow overriding a FE callback, before its
call, but it is not really needed, as the callback can be intercepted
after tuner attachment.

Worse than that, only DVBv3 calls are intercepted this way, so a DVBv5
application will produce different effects than a DVBv3 one.

So, get rid of it.

Sylwester Nawrocki 0f735f5236 [media] s5p-fimc: Rework the video pipeline control functions
There is getting more entities to manage within single video pipeline
in newer SoCs. To simplify code put subdevs' pointer into an array
rather than adding new member in struct fimc_pipeline for each subdev.
This allows to easier handle subdev operations in proper order.

Additionally walk graph in one direction only in fimc_pipeline_prepare()
function to make sure we properly gather only media entities that below
to single data pipeline. This avoids wrong initialization in case where,
for example there are multiple active links from s5p-mipi-csis subdev
output pad.

struct fimc_pipeline declaration is moved to the driver's public header
to allow other drivers to reuse the fimc-lite driver added in subsequent
patches.

Hans Verkuil 6e6d76cdc5 [media] v4l2-event: fix regression with initial event handling
If the V4L2_EVENT_SUB_FL_SEND_INITIAL was set, then the application expects
to receive an initial event of the initial value of the control.

However, commit c53c254933 that added the new
v4l2_subscribed_event_ops introduced a regression: while the code still queued
that initial event the __v4l2_event_queue_fh() function was modified to ignore
such requests if sev->elems was 0 (meaning that the event subscription wasn't
finished yet).

And sev->elems was only set to a non-zero value after the add operation
returned.

This patch fixes this by passing the elems value to the add function. Then the
add function can set it before queuing the initial event.

Sylwester Nawrocki 515f32879a [media] V4L: Add helper function for standard integer menu controls
This patch adds v4l2_ctrl_new_int_menu() helper function which can be used
in drivers for creating standard integer menu control with driver-specific
menu item list. It is similar to v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu(), except it doesn't
have a mask parameter and an additional qmenu parameter allows passing
an array of signed 64-bit integers as the menu item list.

Hans Verkuil 5126f2590b [media] v4l2-dev: add flag to have the core lock all file operations
This used to be the default if the lock pointer was set, but now that lock is by
default only used for ioctl serialization. Those drivers that already used
core locking have this flag set explicitly, except for some drivers where
it was obvious that there was no need to serialize any file operations other
than ioctl.

The drivers that didn't need this flag were:

drivers/media/radio/dsbr100.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-isa.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-keene.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-miropcm20.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-mr800.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-tea5764.c
drivers/media/radio/radio-timb.c
drivers/media/video/vivi.c
sound/i2c/other/tea575x-tuner.c

The other drivers that use core locking and where it was not immediately
obvious that this flag wasn't needed were changed so that the flag is set
together with a comment that that driver needs work to avoid having to
set that flag. This will often involve taking the core lock in the fops
themselves.

Eventually this flag should go and it should not be used in new drivers.

There are a few reasons why we want to avoid core locking of non-ioctl
fops: in the case of mmap this can lead to a deadlock in rare situations
since when mmap is called the mmap_sem is held and it is possible for
other parts of the code to take that lock as well (copy_from_user()/copy_to_user()
perform a down_read(&mm->mmap_sem) when a page fault occurs).

It is very unlikely that that happens since the core lock serializes all
fops, but the kernel warns about it if lock validation is turned on.

For poll it is also undesirable to take the core lock as that can introduce
increased latency. The same is true for read/write.

While it was possible to make flags or something to turn on/off taking the
core lock for each file operation, in practice it is much simpler to just
not take it at all except for ioctl and leave it to the driver to take the
lock. There are only a handful fops compared to the zillion ioctls we have.

I also wanted to make it obvious which drivers still take the lock for all
fops, so that's why I chose to have drivers set it explicitly.

Hans Verkuil 48ea0be060 [media] v4l2-dev/ioctl: determine the valid ioctls upfront
Rather than testing whether an ioctl is implemented in the driver or not
every time the ioctl is called, do it upfront when the device is registered.

This also allows a driver to disable certain ioctls based on the capabilities
of the detected board, something you can't do today without creating separate
v4l2_ioctl_ops structs for each new variation.

For the most part it is pretty straightforward, but for control ioctls a flag
is needed since it is possible that you have per-filehandle controls, and that
can't be determined upfront of course.

Hans Verkuil 8ab75e3ecd [media] v4l2-dev: make it possible to skip locking for selected ioctls
Using the V4L2 core lock is a very robust method that is usually very good
at doing the right thing. But some drivers, particularly USB drivers, may
want to prevent the core from taking the lock for specific ioctls, particularly
buffer queuing ioctls.

The reason is that certain commands like S_CTRL can take a long time to process
over USB and all the time the core has the lock, preventing VIDIOC_DQBUF from
proceeding, even though a frame may be ready in the queue.

This introduces unwanted latency.

Since the buffer queuing commands often have their own internal lock it is
often not necessary to take the core lock. Drivers can now say that they don't
want the core to take the lock for specific ioctls.

As it is a specific opt-out it makes it clear to the reviewer that those
ioctls will need more care when reviewing.

Anssi Hannula 9d454d48eb [media] ati_remote: add support for Medion X10 Digitainer remote
Add support for another Medion X10 remote. This was apparently
originally used with the Medion Digitainer box, but is now sold
separately without any Digitainer labeling.

A peculiarity of this remote is a scrollwheel in place of up/down
buttons. Each direction is mapped to 8 different scancodes, each
corresponding to 1..8 notches, allowing multiple notches to the same
direction to be transmitted in a single scancode. The driver transforms
the multi-notch scancodes to multiple events of the single-notch
scancode.
(0x70..0x77 = 1..8 notches down, 0x78..0x7f = 1..8 notches up)

Since the scrollwheel scancodes are the same that are used for mouse on
some other X10 (ati_remote) remotes, the driver will now check whether
the active keymap has a keycode defined for the single-notch scancode
when a mouse/scrollwheel scancode (0x70..0x7f) is received. If set,
scrollwheel is assumed, otherwise mouse is assumed.

This remote ships with a different receiver than the already supported
Medion X10 remote, but they share the same USB ID. The only difference
in the USB descriptors is that the Digitainer receiver has the Remote
Wakeup bit set in bmAttributes of the Configuration Descriptor.
Therefore that is used to select the default keymap.

Thanks to Stephan Raue from OpenELEC (www.openelec.tv) for providing me
both a Medion X10 Digitainer remote+receiver and an already supported
Medion X10 remote+receiver. Thanks to Martin Beyss for providing some
useful information about the remote (including the "Digitainer" name).

Nearly every subsystem has some kind of header with a proto like:

 	void foo(struct device *dev);

and yet there is no reason for most of these guys to care about the
sub fields within the device struct. This allows us to significantly
reduce the scope of headers including headers. For this instance, a
reduction of about 40% is achieved by replacing the include with the
simple fact that the device is some kind of a struct.

Unlike the much larger module.h cleanup, this one is simply two
commits. One to fix the implicit <linux/device.h> users, and then
one to delete the device.h includes from the linux/include/ dir
 wherever possible.

To avoid circular module dependencies, merge the v4l2-compat-ioctl32
module into videodev. There is no point in keeping them separate, as the
v4l2_compat_ioctl32() function is required by videodev if CONFIG_COMPAT
is set anyway.

Paul Gortmaker 313162d0b8 device.h: audit and cleanup users in main include dir
The <linux/device.h> header includes a lot of stuff, and
it in turn gets a lot of use just for the basic "struct device"
which appears so often.

Clean up the users as follows:

1) For those headers only needing "struct device" as a pointer
in fcn args, replace the include with exactly that.

2) For headers not really using anything from device.h, simply
delete the include altogether.

3) For headers relying on getting device.h implicitly before
being included themselves, now explicitly include device.h

4) For files in which doing #1 or #2 uncovers an implicit
dependency on some other header, fix by explicitly adding
the required header(s).

Any C files that were implicitly relying on device.h to be
present have already been dealt with in advance.

Total removals from #1 and #2: 51. Total additions coming
from #3: 9. Total other implicit dependencies from #4: 7.

As of 3.3-rc1, there were 110, so a net removal of 42 gives
about a 38% reduction in device.h presence in include/*

Hans Verkuil e2ecb257ee [media] v4l2: standardize log start/end message
For drivers that properly use the v4l2 framework (i.e. set v4l2_dev in the
video_device struct), the start and end messages of VIDIOC_LOG_STATUS are
now generated automatically. People tended to forget these, but the v4l2-ctl
tool scans for these messages, and it also makes it easier to read the status
output in the kernel log.

The cx18, ivtv and bttv drivers were changed since they no longer need to
log these start/end messages.

In saa7164 two empty log_status functions were removed.

Also added a helper function to v4l2-ctrl.c that can be used as the
vidioc_log_status callback if all you need to do is to log the current control
values. This is now used by pwc and vivi.

Guennadi Liakhovetski 2f0babb7e4 [media] V4L: soc-camera: make (almost) all client drivers re-usable outside of the framework
The most important change in this patch is direct linking to struct
soc_camera_link via the client->dev.platform_data pointer. This makes most
of the soc-camera client drivers also usable outside of the soc-camera
framework. After this change all what is needed for these drivers to
function are inclusions of soc-camera headers for some convenience macros,
suitably configured platform data, which is anyway always required, and
loaded soc-camera core module for library functions. If desired, these
library functions can be made generic in the future and moved to a more
neutral location.

The only two client drivers, that still depend on soc-camera are:

mt9t031: it uses struct video_device for its PM. Since no hardware is
available, alternative methods cannot be tested.

ov6650: it uses struct soc_camera_device to pass its sense data back to
the bridge driver. A generic v4l2-subdevice approach should be developed
to perform this.

Guennadi Liakhovetski 1a99b972a8 [media] V4L: add .g_std() core V4L2 subdevice operation
VIDIOC_G_STD can return the current TV-norm to the user in one of two ways:
if an .vidioc_g_std() ioctl operation is provided by the driver, it is
called, otherwise the value ot the .current_norm field of struct
video_device is returned. Since subdevice drivers currently have no access
to struct video_device objects, the only way to provide this information to
the user is by implementing a .g_std() method.

Paul Gortmaker de47725421 include: replace linux/module.h with "struct module" wherever possible
The <linux/module.h> pretty much brings in the kitchen sink along
with it, so it should be avoided wherever reasonably possible in
terms of being included from other commonly used <linux/something.h>
files, as it results in a measureable increase on compile times.

The worst culprit was probably device.h since it is used everywhere.
This file also had an implicit dependency/usage of mutex.h which was
masked by module.h, and is also fixed here at the same time.

There are over a dozen other headers that simply declare the
struct instead of pulling in the whole file, so follow their lead
and simply make it a few more.

Most of the implicit dependencies on module.h being present by
these headers pulling it in have been now weeded out, so we can
finally make this change with hopefully minimal breakage.

Hans Verkuil 5626b8c75b [media] v4l2-ctrls: implement new volatile autocluster scheme
The problem tackled in this patch is how to handle volatile autoclusters
correctly. A volatile autocluster is a cluster of related controls where one
control is the control that toggles between manual and auto mode and the other
controls are the values for the manual mode. For example autogain and gain,
autoexposure and exposure, etc.

If the hardware lets you read out the automatically calculated manual values
while in automode, then those manual controls should be marked volatile.

gain value as calculated by the autogain circuitry, then you would mark the
gain control as volatile (i.e. continuously changing).

The question in such use cases is what to do when switching from the auto
mode to the manual mode. Should we switch to the last set manual values or
should the volatile values be copied and used as the initial manual values.

For example: suppose the mode is manual gain and gain is set to 5. Then
autogain is turned on and the gain is set by the hardware to 2. Finally
the user switches back to manual gain. What should the gain be? 2 or 5?

After a long discussion the decisions was made to keep the last value as
calculated by the auto mode (so 2 in the example above).

The reason is that webcams that do such things will adapt themselves to
the current light conditions and when you switch back to manual mode you
expect that you keep the same picture. If you would switch back to old
manual values, then that would give you a suddenly different picture,
which is jarring for the user.

Additionally, this would be difficult to implement in applications that
store and restore the control values at application exit and start.

If you want to keep the old manual values when you switch from auto to
manual, then there would have to be a way for applications to get hold
of those old values while in auto mode, but there isn't.

So this patch will do all the heavy lifting in v4l2-ctrls.c: if you go
from auto mode to manual mode and the manual controls are volatile, then
g_volatile_ctrl will be called to get the current values for the manual
controls before switching to manual mode.

The pwc-ioctl change generated quite a bit of discussion about V4L version

Sylwester Nawrocki d3953223b0 [media] s5p-fimc: Add the media device driver
Add a top level media device driver aggregating FIMC video devnodes,
MIPI-CSIS and sensor subdevs. This driver gathers all media entities
and creates the possible links between them during initialization. By
default some links will be activated to enable access to all available
sensors in the system. For example if there are sensors S0, S1 listed
in the media device platform data definition they will be by default
assigned to FIMC0, FIMC1 respectively, which in turn will corresponds
to separate /dev/video?.
There is enough FIMC H/W entities to cover all available physical camera
interfaces in the system.

The fimc media device driver is bound to the "s5p-fimc-md" platform device.
Such platform device should be created by board initialization code
and camera sensors description array need to be specified as its
platform data.

The media device driver also implements various video pipeline operations,
for enabling subdevs power, streaming, etc., which will be used by the
capture video node driver.

Marek Szyprowski bd323e28bd [media] media: vb2: change queue initialization order
This patch changes the order of operations during stream on call. Now the
buffers are first queued to the driver and then the start_streaming method
is called.

This resolves the most common case when the driver needs to know buffer
addresses to enable dma engine and start streaming. Additional parameter
to start_streaming method have been added to simplify drivers code. The
driver are now obliged to check if the number of queued buffers is high
enough to enable hardware streaming. If not - it can return an error. In
such case all the buffers that have been pre-queued are invalidated.

This patch also updates all videobuf2 clients to work properly with the
changed order of operations.

Jarod Wilson f5f2cc646a [media] rc-core support for Microsoft IR keyboard/mouse
This is a custom IR protocol decoder, for the RC-6-ish protocol used by
the Microsoft Remote Keyboard, apparently developed internally at
Microsoft, and officially dubbed MCIR-2, per their March 2011 remote and
transceiver requirements and specifications document, which also touches
on this IR keyboard/mouse device.

Its a standard keyboard with embedded thumb stick mouse pointer and
mouse buttons, along with a number of media keys. The media keys are
standard RC-6, identical to the signals from the stock MCE remotes, and
will be handled as such. The keyboard and mouse signals will be decoded
and delivered to the system by an input device registered specifically
by this driver.

Successfully tested with multiple mceusb-driven transceivers, as well as
with fintek-cir and redrat3 hardware. Essentially, any raw IR hardware
with enough sampling resolution should be able to use this decoder,
nothing about it is at all receiver-hardware-specific.

This work is inspired by lirc_mod_mce:

The documentation there and code aided in understanding and decoding the
protocol, but the bulk of the code is actually borrowed more from the
existing in-kernel decoders than anything. I did recycle the keyboard
keycode table, a few defines, and some of the keyboard and mouse data
parsing bits from lirc_mod_mce though.

Special thanks to James Meyer for providing the hardware, and being
patient with me as I took forever to get around to writing this.

Hans Verkuil eb5b16efb2 [media] v4l2-ctrls: improve discovery of controls of the same cluster
The implementation of VIDIOC_G/S/TRY_EXT_CTRLS in the control framework has
to figure out which controls in the control list belong to the same cluster.
Since controls belonging to the same cluster need to be handled as a unit,
this is important information.

It did that by going over the controls in the list and for each control that
belonged to a multi-control cluster it would walk the remainder of the list
to try and find controls that belong to that same cluster.

This approach has two disadvantages:

1) it was a potentially quadratic algorithm (although highly unlikely that
it would ever be that bad in practice).
2) it took place with the control handler's lock held.

Since we want to make it possible in the future to change control values
from interrupt context, doing a lot of work while holding a lock is not a
good idea.

In the new code the algorithm is no longer quadratic but linear in the
number of controls in the list. Also, it now can be done beforehand.

Another change that was made was to so the try and set at the same time.
Before when S_TRY_EXT_CTRLS was called it would 'try' the controls first,
and then it would 'set' them. The idea was that any 'try' errors would
prevent the 'set' from happening, thus avoiding having partially set
control lists.

However, this caused more problems than it solved because between the 'try'
and the 'set' changes might have happened, so it had to try a second time,
and since actual controls with a try_ctrl op are very rare (and those that
we have just adjust values and do not return an error), I've decided to
drop that two-stage approach and just combine try and set.

When the event queue for a subscribed event is full, then the oldest
event is dropped. It would be nice if the contents of that oldest
event could be merged with the next-oldest. That way no information is

Hans Verkuil f1e393de38 [media] v4l2-event/ctrls/fh: allocate events per fh and per type instead of just per-fh
The driver had to decide how many events to allocate when the v4l2_fh struct
was created. It was possible to add more events afterwards, but there was no
way to ensure that you wouldn't miss important events if the event queue
would fill up for that filehandle.

In addition, once there were no more free events, any new events were simply
dropped on the floor.

For the control event in particular this made life very difficult since
control status/value changes could just be missed if the number of allocated
events and the speed at which the application read events was too low to keep
up with the number of generated events. The application would have no idea
what the latest state was for a control since it could have missed the latest
control change.

So this patch makes some major changes in how events are allocated. Instead
of allocating events per-filehandle they are now allocated when subscribing an
event. So for that particular event type N events (determined by the driver)
are allocated. Those events are reserved for that particular event type.
This ensures that you will not miss events for a particular type altogether.

In addition, if there are N events in use and a new event is raised, then
the oldest event is dropped and the new one is added. So the latest event
is always available.

This can be further improved by adding the ability to merge the state of
two events together, ensuring that no data is lost at all. This will be
added in the next patch.

This also makes it possible to allow the user to determine the number of
events that will be allocated. This is not implemented at the moment, but
would be trivial.

Hans Verkuil 72d877cac0 [media] v4l2-ctrls: add v4l2_ctrl_auto_cluster to simplify autogain/gain scenarios
It is a bit tricky to handle autogain/gain type scenerios correctly. Such
controls need to be clustered and the V4L2_CTRL_FLAG_UPDATE should be set on
the autofoo controls. In addition, the manual controls should be marked
inactive when the automatic mode is on, and active when the manual mode is on.
This also requires specialized volatile handling.

The chances of drivers doing all these things correctly are pretty remote.
So a new v4l2_ctrl_auto_cluster function was added that takes care of these
issues.

Hans Verkuil bedf8bcf6b [media] v4l2-device: add kref and a release function
The video_device struct has proper ref counting and its release function
will be called when the last user releases it. But no such support was
available for struct v4l2_device. This made it hard to determine when a
USB driver can release the device if it has multiple device nodes.

With one device node it is easy of course, since when the device node is
released, the whole device can be released.

This patch adds refcounting to v4l2_device. When registering device nodes
the v4l2_device refcount will be increased, when releasing device nodes
it will be decreased. The (optional) release function will be called when
the last device node was released.

Laurent Pinchart 333c8b9778 [media] v4l: v4l2_subdev userspace format API
Add a userspace API to get, set and enumerate the media format on a
subdev pad.

The format at the output of a subdev usually depends on the format at
its input(s). The try format operation is thus not suitable for probing
format at individual pads, as it can't modify the device state and thus
can't remember the format tried at the input to compute the output
format.

To fix the problem, pass an extra argument to the get/set format
operations to select the 'try' or 'active' format.

The try format is used when probing the subdev. Setting the try format
must not change the device configuration but can store data for later
reuse. Data storage is provided at the file-handle level so applications
probing the subdev concurently won't interfere with each other.

The active format is used when configuring the subdev. It's identical to
the format handled by the usual get/set operations.

Laurent Pinchart e02188c90f [media] media: Pipelines and media streams
Drivers often need to associate pipeline objects to entities, and to
take stream state into account when configuring entities and links. The
pipeline API helps drivers manage that information.

When starting streaming, drivers call media_entity_pipeline_start(). The
function marks all entities connected to the given entity through
enabled links, either directly or indirectly, as streaming. Similarly,
when stopping the stream, drivers call media_entity_pipeline_stop().

The media_entity_pipeline_start() function takes a pointer to a media
pipeline and stores it in every entity in the graph. Drivers should
embed the media_pipeline structure in higher-level pipeline structures
and can then access the pipeline through the media_entity structure.

Link configuration will fail with -EBUSY by default if either end of the
link is a streaming entity, unless the link is marked with the

Laurent Pinchart 53e269c102 [media] media: Entities, pads and links
As video hardware pipelines become increasingly complex and
configurable, the current hardware description through v4l2 subdevices
reaches its limits. In addition to enumerating and configuring
subdevices, video camera drivers need a way to discover and modify at
runtime how those subdevices are connected. This is done through new
elements called entities, pads and links.

An entity is a basic media hardware building block. It can correspond to
a large variety of logical blocks such as physical hardware devices
(CMOS sensor for instance), logical hardware devices (a building block
in a System-on-Chip image processing pipeline), DMA channels or physical
connectors.

A pad is a connection endpoint through which an entity can interact with
other entities. Data (not restricted to video) produced by an entity
flows from the entity's output to one or more entity inputs. Pads should
not be confused with physical pins at chip boundaries.

A link is a point-to-point oriented connection between two pads, either
on the same entity or on different entities. Data flows from a source
pad to a sink pad.

Links are stored in the source entity. To make backwards graph walk
faster, a copy of all links is also stored in the sink entity. The copy
is known as a backlink and is only used to help graph traversal.

The entity API is made of three functions:

- media_entity_init() initializes an entity. The caller must provide an
array of pads as well as an estimated number of links. The links array
is allocated dynamically and will be reallocated if it grows beyond the
initial estimate.

- media_entity_cleanup() frees resources allocated for an entity. It
must be called during the cleanup phase after unregistering the entity
and before freeing it.

- media_entity_create_link() creates a link between two entities. An
entry in the link array of each entity is allocated and stores pointers
to source and sink pads.

When a media device is unregistered, all its entities are unregistered
automatically.

The code is based on Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> initial work.

Marek Szyprowski b25748fe61 [media] v4l: videobuf2: add read() and write() emulator
Add a generic file io (read and write) emulator for videobuf2. It uses
MMAP memory type buffers and generic vb2 calls: req_bufs, qbuf and
dqbuf. Video date is being copied from mmap buffers to userspace with
standard copy_to_user() function. To add support for file io the driver
needs to provide an additional callback - read_setup or write_setup. It
should provide the default number of buffers used by emulator and flags.

With these flags one can detemine the style of read() or write()
emulation. By default 'streaming' style is used. With
VB2_FILEIO_READ_ONCE flag one can select 'one shot' mode for read()
emulator. With VB2_FILEIO_WRITE_IMMEDIATE flag one can select immediate
conversion of write calls to qbuf for write() emulator, so the vb2 will
not wait until each buffer is filled completely before queueing it to
the driver.

Pawel Osciak e23ccc0ad9 [media] v4l: add videobuf2 Video for Linux 2 driver framework
Videobuf2 is a Video for Linux 2 API-compatible driver framework for
multimedia devices. It acts as an intermediate layer between userspace
applications and device drivers. It also provides low-level, modular
memory management functions for drivers.

Videobuf2 eases driver development, reduces drivers' code size and aids in
proper and consistent implementation of V4L2 API in drivers.

Videobuf2 memory management backend is fully modular. This allows custom
memory management routines for devices and platforms with non-standard
memory management requirements to be plugged in, without changing the
high-level buffer management functions and API.

The framework provides:
- implementations of streaming I/O V4L2 ioctls and file operations
- high-level video buffer, video queue and state management functions
- video buffer memory allocation and management

Patrick Boettcher 739ff04f63 [media] technisat-usb2: added driver for Technisat's USB2.0 DVB-S/S2 receiver
This patch is adding support for Technisat's new USB2.0 DVB-S/S2 receiver
device. The development was sponsored by Technisat.

The Green led is toggle depending on the frontend-state. The Red LED is turned
on all the time.

The MAC address reading from the EEPROM along with the
LRC-method to check whether its valid.

Support for the IR-receiver of the Technisat USB2 box. The keys of
small, black remote-control are built-in, repeated key behaviour are
simulated.

The i2c-mutex of the dvb-usb-structure is used as a general mutex for
USB requests, as there are 3 threads racing for atomic requests
consisting of multiple usb-requests.

A module option is there which disables the toggling of LEDs by the
driver on certain triggers. Useful when being used in a "dark"
environment.

Hans Verkuil 45f6f84af3 [media] v4l2-subdev: add (un)register internal ops
Some subdevs need to call into the board code after they are registered
and have a valid struct v4l2_device pointer. The s_config op was abused
for this, but now that it is removed we need a cleaner way of solving this.

So this patch adds a struct with internal ops that the v4l2 core can call.

Currently only two ops exist: register and unregister. Subdevs can implement
these to call the board code and pass it the v4l2_device pointer, which the
board code can then use to get access to the struct that embeds the
v4l2_device.

It is expected that in the future open and close ops will also be added.

Hans Verkuil 513521eaee [media] v4l2-ctrls: use const char * const * for the menu arrays
This prevents checkpatch warnings generated when defining
'static const char *foo[]' arrays. It makes sense to use
const char * const * anyway since the pointers in the array
are indeed const.

Hans Verkuil b9218f2f15 [media] saa6588: rename rds.h to saa6588.h
The naming of the media/rds.h header suggested that it was a generic
RDS header, when in fact it is just a saa6588 module API that is
internal to the kernel.

Rename the header and the struct and defines in it to make this clear.

Also removed the header include in radio-si470x.h (not used anymore)
and from ioctl-number.txt (it's internal to the kernel and never called
from userspace).

Mauro Carvalho Chehab 88ae7624a6 [media] V4L1 removal: Remove linux/videodev.h
There's no sense on keeping it on 2.6.38, as nobody is using it
anymore, at the kernel tree, and installing it at the userspace
API.

As two deprecated drivers still need it, move it to their internal
directories.

Mauro Carvalho Chehab 2f4f58d689 [media] rc: Name RC keymap tables as rc_map_table
Remote keytables had different names all over the place. Part of the fault
is due to a bad naming when rc subsystem was created, but there were lots
of old names that were still here.

Use a common standard for everything.

Mauro Carvalho Chehab b088ba658b [media] rc: Properly name the rc_map struct
The struct that describes a rc mapping had an weird and long name.
We should properly name it, to make easier for developers to work
with it, and to avoid confusion.

Basically, generated by this script:

for i in `find drivers/staging -type f -name *.[ch]` `find include/media -type f -name *.[ch]` `find drivers/media -type f -name *.[ch]`; do sed s,ir_scancode_table,rc_map,g <$i >a && mv a $i; done
