A smallish number of general cleanup commits this release cycle. Some
of these are minor tweaks:
- shmobile change of binding for their GIC (using arm,pl390 now)
- ARCH_RENESAS introduction
- Misc other renesas updates
There's also a couple of treewide commits from Masahiro Yamada cleaning up
const/__initconst for SMP operation structs and a switch to using "depends
on" instead of if-constructs on most of the Kconfig platform targets.

Adds a function that sets the pointer to dev_pm_domain in struct device
and that warns if the device has already finished probing. The reason
why we want to enforce that is because in the general case that can
cause problems and also that we can simplify code quite a bit if we can
always assume that.
This patch also changes all current code that directly sets the
dev.pm_domain pointer.

Commit 63aa945b10 ("memory: omap-gpmc: Add Kconfig option for debug")
unified the GPMC debug for the SoCs with GPMC. The commit also left out
the option for HWMOD_INIT_NO_RESET as we now require proper timings for
GPMC to be able to remap GPMC devices out of address 0.
Unfortunately on Nokia N900, onenand now only partially works with the
device tree provided timings. It works enough to get detected but the
clock rate supported by the onenand chip gets misdetected. This in turn
causes the GPMC timings to be miscalculated and this leads into file
system corruption on N900.
Looks like onenand needs CS_CONFIG1 bit 27 WRITETYPE set for for sync
write. This is needed also for async timings when we write to onenand
with omap2_onenand_set_async_mode(). Without sync write bit set, the
async read for the onenand ONENAND_REG_VERSION_ID will return 0xfff.
Let's exit with an error if onenand rate is not detected. And let's
remove the extra call to omap2_onenand_set_async_mode() as we only need
to do this once at the end of omap2_onenand_setup_async().

Second set of omap device tree changes for v4.5 merge window. This series
updates the EDMA bindings based on the various fixes to split EDMA into
separate independent devices. It also adds support for more devices on the
CompuLab cm-t335 and LogicPD Torpedo boards, and enables the new bindings
for qspi for am437x and dra7. There are also few dra7 regulator fixes, and
change of gpoi-key,wakeup to wakeup-source.
These depend on commit ae0add740c ("dmaengine: edma: DT: Change reserved
slot array from 16bit to 32bit type") already merged into mainline.

change the omap initcall levels a bit to initialize things later to allow
early device drivers at core_initcall level. This makes things easier
for us as most clocks can be made into regular device drivers except for
a few early clocks needed to initialize system timers. I wanted to have
these changes sit in Linux next for a few weeks before sending out a pull
request, and so far now issues have showed up.
The other changes in this series are timer changes for making use of the
new PWM driver, and timer changes to support more high security SoCs.
Also few minor improvments for module autoidle settings for ti81xx spinbox
and dra7 debug on uart4 in hwmod code. The rest is pretty much just removal
of platform data for SoCs that are all device tree only nowadays.

System will misbehave in the following case:
- AM43XX only build (UP);
- CONFIG_CPU_IDLE=y
- ARM TWD timer enabled and selected as clockevent device.
In the above case, It's expected that broadcast timer will be used as
backup timer when CPUIdle will put MPU in low power states where ARM
TWD will stop and lose its context. But, the CONFIG_SMP might not be
selected when kernel is built for AM43XX SoC only and, as result,
GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS_BROADCAST option will not be selected also. This
will break CPUIdle and System will stuck in low power states.
Hence, fix it by selecting GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS_BROADCAST option for
AM43XX SoCs always and add empty tick_broadcast() function
implementation - no need to send any IPI on UP. After this change
timer1 will be selected as broadcast timer the same way as for SMP,
and CPUIdle will work properly.

trying to boot dm814x-evm uncovered all kind of issues with the timer

order and this branch contains both device tree and code changes.
To summarize the changes, we had missing ranges for clocks to probe,
missing aliase for clocks, wrong registers for divder clocks, and bad
address for the control module. All these went unnoticed earlier as
things worked without errors by luck and I did not pay much attention
to them until I got hold of a dm814x-evm and I noticed it did not boot.

We want to be able to probe a few selected device drivers before hwmod
code populates the clocks in omap_hwmod_setup_all(). This allows us to
convert most of the clock drivers into regular device drivers.
We only need a few minimal clock drivers early for the system timers to
select between the 32KiHz clock and the high frequency oscillator.
With these changes, initializing the clock drivers can be just done at
core_initcall time with something like:
np = of_find_node_by_name(NULL, "plls");
if (np)
of_platform_populate(np, NULL, NULL, NULL);
And then these clocks will be available for the interconnect code to use.
Having most of the clock drivers being regular device drivers allows
us to use the nice things like devm_* functions and dev_err and dev_dbg.
As an extra bonus, this also allows us to develop the clock drivers for
new SoCs as loadable modules initially for cases where we can boot up
the system based on the bootloader configured clocks.
To do this, let's change the core_initcalls to postcore_initcall under
mach-omap2.

Errata i810 states that DPLL controller can get stuck while transitioning
to a power saving state, while its M/N ratio is being re-programmed.
As a workaround, before re-programming the M/N ratio, SW has to ensure
the DPLL cannot start an idle state transition. SW can disable DPLL
idling by setting the DPLL AUTO_DPLL_MODE=0 or keeping a clock request
active by setting a dependent clock domain in SW_WKUP.

This is not needed anymore. Handling a potentially pending imprecise external
abort left behind by the bootloader is now done in a slightly safer way inside
the common ARM startup code.
With the recent changes to abort handling, this issue got fixed by 57df538085

Some module needs more than one functional clock in order to be accessible,
like the McASPs found in DRA7xx family.
This flag will indicate that the opt_clks need to be handled at the same
time as the main_clk for the given hwmod, ensuring that all needed clocks
are enabled before we try to access the module's address space.

- move of the 32kHz timer on OMAP to a proper timesource
- Misc cleanup of older OMAP material (incl removal of one board file)

The most significant change is to allow the AML debugger to be
built into the kernel. On top of that there is an update related
to the NFIT table (the ACPI persistent memory interface)
and a few fixes and cleanups.
- ACPI CPPC2 (Collaborative Processor Performance Control v2)
support along with a cpufreq frontend (Ashwin Chaugule).

to device drivers via the generic device properties interface
(Rafael Wysocki).

firmware node types, and support for the "dma-names" device
property based on it (Mika Westerberg).

resuming from at the moment (Rafael Wysocki).
This should allow drivers to optimize their suspend/resume
handling in some cases and the changes include a couple of users
of it (the i8042 input driver, PCI PM).

This should help to simplify the CPU offline/online handling among
other things.

Merge tag 'pm+acpi-4.4-rc1-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rafael/linux-pm
Pull power management and ACPI updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"Quite a new features are included this time.
First off, the Collaborative Processor Performance Control interface
(version 2) defined by ACPI will now be supported on ARM64 along with
a cpufreq frontend for CPU performance scaling.
Second, ACPI gets a new infrastructure for the early probing of IRQ
chips and clock sources (along the lines of the existing similar
mechanism for DT).
Next, the ACPI core and the generic device properties API will now
support a recently introduced hierarchical properties extension of the
_DSD (Device Specific Data) ACPI device configuration object. If the
ACPI platform firmware uses that extension to organize device
properties in a hierarchical way, the kernel will automatically handle
it and make those properties available to device drivers via the
generic device properties API.
It also will be possible to build the ACPICA's AML interpreter
debugger into the kernel now and use that to diagnose AML-related
problems more efficiently. In the future, this should make it
possible to single-step AML execution and do similar things.
Interesting stuff, although somewhat experimental at this point.
Finally, the PM core gets a new mechanism that can be used by device
drivers to distinguish between suspend-to-RAM (based on platform
firmware support) and suspend-to-idle (or other variants of system
suspend the platform firmware is not involved in) and possibly
optimize their device suspend/resume handling accordingly.
In addition to that, some existing features are re-organized quite
substantially.
First, the ACPI-based handling of PCI host bridges on x86 and ia64 is
unified and the common code goes into the ACPI core (so as to reduce
code duplication and eliminate non-essential differences between the
two architectures in that area).
Second, the Operating Performance Points (OPP) framework is
reorganized to make the code easier to find and follow.
Next, the cpufreq core's sysfs interface is reorganized to get rid of
the "primary CPU" concept for configurations in which the same
performance scaling settings are shared between multiple CPUs.
Finally, some interfaces that aren't necessary any more are dropped
from the generic power domains framework.
On top of the above we have some minor extensions, cleanups and bug
fixes in multiple places, as usual.
Specifics:
- ACPICA update to upstream revision 20150930 (Bob Moore, Lv Zheng).
The most significant change is to allow the AML debugger to be

Minimal omap SoC changes for v4.4 merge window. As we've spent quite a
bit of time sorting out regressions for v4.3 and are very late with
these, I've kept the changes down to minimum:
- A series of timer changes from Felipe Balbi to get us closer to
moving the remaining timer code into drivers
- A series of hwmod clean-up changes queued by Paul Walmsley
- SoC detection clean-up to use soc_is instead of cpu_is as CPU is
within the SoC and is confusing naming. The rest we can now change
along with the other clean-up

Currently apart from dra7, omap5 and amx3 all the other SoCs
are identified using cpu_is_* functions which is not right since
they are all SoCs(System on Chips). Hence changing the SoC
identification code to use soc_is instead of cpu_is and keeping
defines for cpu_is where needed. This allows us to replace the
rest of cpu_is usage along with other fixes as needed.

[tony@atomide.com: reworked the soc.h changes to minimum]
Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
The naming for the cpu_is macros is confusing as the CPU is separate
and within the SoC. Let's rename all the macros to soc_is, and let's
define cpu_is also for the ones still in use. Then we can just remove
the cpu_is macros once the users are fixed up.
To keep the chances of breaking anything, the changes were
generated with the following regular expressions:
s/cpu_is/soc_is/g
s/CPU/SoC/g
Then the list of existing cpu_is users was generated with:
$ $ grep -o -e 'cpu_is_.\+()' arch/arm/mach-omap2/*.[chS] | \
cut -d: -f2 | sort | uniq
And added to the end of the soc.h.
I decided to rework the earlier patches by Keerthy <j-keerthy@ti.com>
to keep changes down to minimum to avoid potential errors and stick
to just search and replace.

now that we have a working 32k clocksource driver,
we can limit HWMOD usage to non-DT boots and rely
on clocksource_of_init() every time we boot

the 32-counter device so it gets probed by its driver.

If booting with DT, let's make sure to always

instead of constantly defining a small wrapper
around __omap_sync32k_timer_init(), let's define
a generic one which can be used by all OMAPs.
Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
__omap_sync32k_timer_init(), now takes the clock
source as a parameter. This means we no longer need
__omap_gptimer_init().
Note that __omap_sync32k_timer_init() will be
renamed in a follow-up patch as it's not longer 32k
source specific.
Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
as it turns out, __omap_gptimer_init() and
__omap_sync32k_timer_init() are essentially
the same thing, but __omap_gptimer_init() wants
to always use gptimer.
Instead of forcing all those devices to pass
a use_gptimer cmdline argument, we add a new
function argument to __omap_sync32k_timer_init()
in preparation to deleting __omap_gptimer_init().
On a follow-up patch, we will remove uses of
__omap_gptimer_init() and replace them with
__omap_sync32k_timer_init() and pass the last
argument as true.
Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
those macros just make it a lot more difficult
to grep around and actually find similarities.

replace with actual functions and later commits
will come to further clean this up.

omap4_local_timer_init() can be used by other
platforms as is. At least AM437x wants to use
it. Instead of making omap4-only and providing

make sure that function is always available
for all SoCs that need it.

Remove the OMAP3 core DPLL re-program code, and the associated SRAM
code that does the low-level programming of the DPLL divider, idling
of the SDRAM etc.
This code was never fully implemented in the kernel; things missing
were driver side handling of core clock changes (they need to account
for their functional clock rate being changed on-the-fly), and the whole
framework required for handling this. Thus, there is not much point
to keep carrying the low-level support code either.

to omap2_clk_disable_autoidle_all in am43xx_init_early may cause some
clocks to always stay active and prevent low power mode transitions.

Most interrupt flow handlers do not use the irq argument. Those few
which use it can retrieve the irq number from the irq descriptor.
Remove the argument.

OMAP5 SoC has Cortex-A15 which does not use TWD timer. It uses
ARCH_TIMER instead, clean up unwanted configuration and enable
OMAP_INTERCONNECT and OPP which is necessary for expected functionality

When commit c4082d499f ("ARM: omap2+: board-generic: clean up the
irq data from board file") cleaned up the direct usage of gic_of_init
and omap_intc_of_init, it failed to clean up the macros properly.
Since these macros are no longer used, lets just remove them.

When bringing up a new SoC we needlessly prevent booting at timer
init if timer clock_set_parent fails. This can fail if the system
is booting on bootloader configured PLL values until the clock
framework driver for the PLL is implemented.
Let's just WARN instead, this will provide helpful information
for anybody bringing up a new SoC what needs to be fixed.
This allows to boot dm814x that's still missing the PLL driver.

The conversion of the wakeupgen irqchip to hierarchical irq domains
failed to provide a mechanism to properly set the trigger type of an
interrupt.
The wakeupgen irq chip itself has no mechanism and therefor no
irq_set_type() callback. The code before the conversion relayed the
trigger configuration directly to the underlying GIC.
Restore the correct behaviour by setting the wakeupgen irq_set_type
callback to irq_chip_set_type_parent(). This propagates the
set_trigger() call to the underlying GIC irqchip.

I managed to mess up omap3 power domain operations with commit
7c80a3f89c ("ARM: OMAP2+: Add custom prwdm_operations for 81xx
to support dm814x"), by default we should keep on using the
omap3_pwrdm_operations, only 81xx needs custom handling.
This causes omap3 PM to break so we won't hit off mode any longer
causing idle power consumption go up from less than 10mW to over
50 mW.

"This pull request contains the TI clock driver set to move the
clock implementations under clock driver. Some small portions of
the clock driver code still remain under mach-omap2 after this,
it should be decided whether this code is now obsolete and should
be deleted or should someone try to fix it."
Slight merge conflicts with determine_rate prototype changes.
Init data marked const should be annotated with __initconst for
correctness and not __initdata. In some cases the array gathering
references to that data has to be marked const as well. This fixes
LTO builds that otherwise fail with section mismatch errors.

Clock rates are stored in an unsigned long field, but ->determine_rate()
(which returns a rounded rate from a requested one) returns a long
value (errors are reported using negative error codes), which can lead
to long overflow if the clock rate exceed 2Ghz.
Change ->determine_rate() prototype to return 0 or an error code, and pass
a pointer to a clk_rate_request structure containing the expected target
rate and the rate constraints imposed by clk users.
The clk_rate_request structure might be extended in the future to contain
other kind of constraints like the rounding policy, the maximum clock
inaccuracy or other things that are not yet supported by the CCF
(power consumption constraints ?).

later is we can simply revert this patch if necessary if we run
into some unexpected issues that are not trivial to fix for the
device tree based booting.

Pull clkdev updates from Russell King:
"This series addresses some breakage in clkdev caused by a previous
patch set from the clk tree which introduced per-user clk structures.
This basically renamed the existing 'struct clk' to 'struct clk_hw',
and introduced a new 'struct clk'.
This change will break anyone using clk_add_alias() with the common
clk code enabled. Thankfully, the intersection of users of
clk_add_alias() and those using the common clk code is practically
zero, but this is something which should be fixed to keep the code
sane.
The problem is that clk_add_alias() does this:
r = clk_get(...);
l = clkdev_alloc(r, ...);
clk_put(...);
which causes the alias to store a pointer to 'r', which has been
freed.
The original patch set tried to work around this problem incorrectly -
at clk_get() time, it tried to convert the struct clk to a struct
clk_hw, and then creating a new struct clk from that. Clearly, if the
original struct clk has been freed, then we have a use-after-free bug.
We have other places in the tree which do something similar, so this
series also addresses those locations too.
This series addresses this problem by converting clkdev to store and
use the clk_hw pointer. This allows clk_get() to only have to create
it's per-user struct clk from the clk_hw. We can also get to the
desired clk_hw at clk_add_alias() or clk lookup creation time, when
the struct clk is "alive".
We also perform some cleanups of the code:
- replacing looped calls to clkdev_add() with clkdev_add_table()
- replacing open-coded lookup allocation (which should have been
using clkdev_alloc()) and subsequent clkdev_add() with
clkdev_create()
- replacing open-coded clk_add_alias() with clk_add_alias()"

Acked-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With most of the clock code under clock driver already, the low-level
register access code, and the init code for the same, is no longer
needed outside the clock driver. Thus, these can be moved under clock
driver also.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
As most of the clock driver code has migrated, these are no longer used
for anything. Thus remove these APIs completely.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
We should avoid exporting data from drivers, instead use an API for
registering the clock low level operations.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With legacy clock support gone, this is no longer needed under platform,
so move it under the clock driver itself. Make some exports be driver
internal definitions at the same time.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With the legacy clock data gone, this is no longer needed under platform,
so move it under the clock driver itself. Remove unnecessary declarations
from the TI clock header also.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With the legacy clock data gone, this is no longer needed under platform,
so move it under the clock driver itself. Remove the exported clock driver
APIs as well, as these are not needed outside clock driver anymore.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With the legacy clock support gone, this is no longer needed under
platform code-base. Thus, move this under the TI clock driver, and
remove the exported API from the public header.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With the legacy support gone, OMAP2+ default gate clock can be moved
under clock driver. Create a new file for the purpose, and clean-up
the header exports a bit as some clock APIs are no longer needed
outside clock driver itself.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
clkdm_control is used to determine, whether clocks should trigger a
clockdomain transition when they are enabled/disabled. Keep this
functionality intact, but replace this with a clk_features flag
which can be initialized during boot if needed.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
This now only has a couple of variables within it, which are used outside
the file itself. Move these variables to where they are actually used,
and remove the file completely as it is now empty.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
With the legacy clock support gone, OMAP3 generic DPLL code can now be
moved over to the clock driver also. A few un-unused clkoutx2 functions
are also removed at the same time.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
Clock driver requires access to some CM API functions once the code
is being moved under the clock driver from the platform directory.
Gate type clock requires access to cm_wait_module_ready and
cm_split_idlest_reg functions, which are both used for waiting until
the module being clocked has been successfully activated. These CM
APIs are now exported through the ti_clk_ll_ops struct.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
Clock driver requires access to certain clockdomain handling ops once
the code is being moved over under clock driver. Example of this is
clk_enable / clk_disable under omap3 DPLL code. The required clkdm
APIs are now exported through the ti_clk_ll_ops struct.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
The legacy support is wrong and dangerous, as it doesn't take any
OPPs into account and does not scale voltages. Switching mpurate should
be handled through cpufreq.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
This is no longer used outside clock driver, so move it under the driver
and remove the export for it from the global header file.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
This is no longer needed in platform directory, as the legacy clock data
is gone, so move it under TI clock driver. Some static functions are

The clksel clock type is no longer used for anything, it is rather
replaced with common clock divider code. Thus, remove the dead code
from kernel.
Signed-off-by: Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>
Core DVFS support code is currently referencing clksel functionality, which
is wrong. The m2 divisor has been implemented as a divider clock for a long
time already, so replace the validrate check call with proper functionality.
Core DVFS is currently not supported in the kernel so verifying this patch
can be rather tricky, this should probably be fixed at some point.

With the legacy clock support gone, the OMAP interface clock implementation
can be moved under the clock driver. Some temporary header file tweaks are
also needed to make this change work properly.

With the legacy clock support gone, the OMAP4 specific DPLL implementations
can be moved under the clock driver. Change some of the function prototypes
to be static at the same time, and remove some exports from the global TI
clock driver header.

With the legacy clock data now gone, we can start moving OMAP clock
type implementations under clock driver. Start this with moving the
generic OMAP DPLL clock type under TI clock driver.

As most of the clock driver support code is going to be moved under
drivers/clk/ti, an API for setting / getting the SoC specific clock
features is needed. This patch provides this API and changes the
existing code to use it.

Register crypto hwmod links only if they are not disabled in DT.
If DT information is missing, enable them only for GP devices.
Before this patch crypto hwmod links were always disabled for all HS
devices and it was not possible to use omap-aes and omap-sham linux
drivers.

Without this patch function pm_runtime_get_sync() returns 0 even when
some omap subfunction fails. This patch properly propagate error codes
from omap functions back to caller.
This patch fix problem, when loading omap-aes driver in qemu cause
kernel oops.

not happen correctly so it may be shut off by pm code unintentionally.

We support decoding the bootloader values if DEBUG is defined.
But we also need to change the struct omap_hwmod flags to have
HWMOD_INIT_NO_RESET to avoid the GPMC being reset during the
boot. Otherwise just the default timings will be displayed
instead of the bootloader configured timings.
This also allows us to clean up the various GPMC related
hwmod flags. For debugging, we only need HWMOD_INIT_NO_RESET,
and HWMOD_INIT_NO_IDLE is not needed.

This removes the no longer required return statement at the end
of the void function, omap2_show_dma_cap due to no need for a
return statement due to this function always running successfully.
