Jani Nikula 36d21f4c55 drm/i915/dsi: remove unnecessary dsi device callbacks
Remove all the trivial and/or dummy callbacks from intel dsi device
ops. Merge send_otp_cmds into panel_reset as they're called back to
back.

This will be helpful for switching to use drm_panel for the
callbacks. If we ever need the additional callbacks, we should add them
to drm_panel funcs.

Ville Syrjälä da2518f926 drm/i915: Change VLV WIZ hashing mode to 16x4
We set the WIZ hashing mode to 16x4 for all the other gen6+
platfotrms, so let's follow suit on VLV.

My VLV is AWOL currently so I didn't test this, but since the results
for all the other platforms agree that 16x4 is the fastest we might
assume the same holds for VLV.

Ville Syrjälä e7fc24362c drm/i915: Change CHV WIZ hashing mode to 16x4
I ran a few tests with xonotic and synmark2 trying out the
different WIZ hashing modes on CHV. The results seem to match the
results I got with IVB/HSW when I did the similar tests on them
in the past. That is 16x4 is generally the fastest mode, 8x8 comes
next and finally 8x4. On CHV the difference between the modes is
at most ~1% in most tests. IIRC on IVB/HSW the difference was a little
bigger, but as there doesn't seem to be any real downside to 16x4
let's use it by default.

Ville Syrjälä eb973a5e1b drm/i915: Drop some more CHV pre-production workarounds
Drop WaDisablePwrmtrEvent:chv as it's no longer needed.

Also remove the WaSetMaskForGfxBusyness:chv note, but we still
leave the GEN6_RP_MEDIA_IS_GFX bit enabled as that's still the
recommended setting.

Daniel Vetter e62b59e413 drm/i915: Simplify flush_cpu_write_domain
We can push down the decision whether to force flushing into the
implementation since in all places that matter obj->pin_display is
accurate already. The only place where the optimization really matters
is the sw_finish_ioctl, and that already checks for obj->pin_display
on its own.

evolved - only v2 added the pin_display tracking.

Note that we still retain the gist of this logic from the above commit
with the explicit force argument for the low-level clflush function.

Ville noted in his review that there's a slight behavioural change in
the set_to_gtt_domain function, which now also will flush display
plane data. This opens-open the potential for userspace to start doing
buggy things by omitting the sw_finish_ioctl, which is why I've
rejected a functional equivalent patch from Ville a while ago:

But on second consideration it's not that evil, and in any case the
justification here is more clarity, not allowing crazy userspace.

Damien Lespiau 1b842c89bd drm/i915: Fix kzalloc() smatch warnings in get_initial_plane_config()
Smatch doesn't like:

  struct drm_framebuffer *fb;
  fb = kzalloc(sizeof(struct intel_framebuffer), GFP_KERNEL);

and warns with:

  warn: struct type mismatch 'drm_framebuffer vs intel_framebuffer'

This implicit cast was correct as struct intel_framebuffer has struct
drm_framebuffer as its first member, but in case someone want to reorder
the fields for some reason, it's slightly safer to access the underlying
drm_framebuffer through intel_fb->base.

Also, having fewer static analysis warnings is a worthy goal.

Chris Wilson 0f71979ab7 drm/i915: Performed deferred clflush inside set-cache-level
Currently we are hitting the WARN inside
i915_gem_object_set_cache_level() as we can now have an unbound object
in the GTT write domain (due to 43566dedde "drm/i915: Broaden
application of set-domain(GTT)"). To avoid the warning, we need to track
when we elided the clflush on a cacheable object and then evict the
cache for the object when we move the object out of a cacheable domain.

Zhipeng Gong 8d360dffd6 drm/i915: Specify bsd rings through exec flag
On Skylake GT3 we have 2 Video Command Streamers (VCS), which is asymmetrical.
For example, HEVC GPU commands can be only dispatched to VCS1 ring.
But userspace has no control when using VCS1 or VCS2. This patch introduces
a mechanism to avoid the default ping-pong mode and use one specific ring
through execution flag. This mechanism is usable for all the platforms
with 2 VCS rings.

The open source usage is from these two commits in vaapi/intel:

Damien Lespiau 49af449b45 drm/i915: Change plane_config to store a tiling_mode
Rather than having "tiled" meaning "is it X-tiled?" convert the field to
explicitely store the tiling mode. The code doesn't have to change much
as 1 is conveniently I915_TILING_X.

This is to accommodate future changes around tiling modes and scannout
buffers.

Mika Kuoppala 756c349dc9 drm/i915: Make vlv and chv forcewake put generic.
These two were using a fw dance logic where posting read was done
after both domain bit were set. When in other gens, the posting
read is done immediately after setting the forcewake bit for each
domain.

Now bring these in line with other gens.

Mika Kuoppala 05a2fb157e drm/i915: Consolidate forcewake code
As we now have forcewake domains, take advantage of it
by putting the differences in gen fw handling in data rather
than in code.

In past we have opencoded this quite extensively as the fw handling
is in the fast path. There has also been a lot of cargo-culted
copy'n'pasting from older gens to newer ones.

Now when the releasing of the forcewake is done by deferred timer,
it gives chance to consolidate more. Due to the frequency of actual hw
access being significantly less.

Take advantage of this and generalize the fw handling code
as much as possible. But we still aim to keep the forcewake sequence
particularities for each gen intact. So the access pattern
to fw engines should remain the same.

The first pass implementation of execlists required a backpointer to the context to be held
in the intel_ringbuffer. However the context pointer is available higher in the call stack.
Remove the backpointer from the ring buffer structure and instead pass it down through the
call stack.

Ander Conselvan de Oliveira f5de6e0739 drm/i915: Improve how the memory for crtc state is allocated
The previous patch changed the config field in intel_crtc to a pointer,
but to keep the mechanical changes (done with spatch) separate from the
new code, the pointer was made to point to a new _config field with type
struct intel_crtc_state added to that struct. This patch improves that
code by getting rid of that field, allocating a state struct in
intel_crtc_init() a keeping it properly updated when a mode set
happens.

Vandana Kannan 96178eeb37 drm/i915: Modifying structures related to DRRS
Earlier, DRRS structures were specific to eDP (used only in intel_dp).
Since DRRS can be extended to other internal display types
(if the panel supports multiple RR), modifying structures
to be part of drm_i915_private and have a provision to add display related
structs like intel_dp.
Also, aligning with frontbuffer tracking mechanism, the new structure
contains data for busy frontbuffer bits.

Ville Syrjälä f78ae63f28 drm/i915: Rename 'reg' to 'clk_reg' to unconfuse it from the other 'reg'
On VLV/CHV the rc6 residency calculations read a second register to
determine the actual units used for the residency value. The variable
name 'reg' where that register value is stored shadows the function
argument 'reg'. That can easily leave the reader utterly confused, so
rename the internal variable to 'clk_reg'.

Ville Syrjälä 3cbdb48fbe drm/i915: Configure GEN6_RP_DOWN_TIMEOUT on CHV
CherryViewA0_iGfx_BIOS_DRIVER_PUNIT_spec_y14w28d5 tells us not to enable
the RP down timeout interrupt, and says that the timeout value is hence
not used. We do enable that interrupt currently though, so leaving the
timeout as 0 results in very poor performance as the GPU frequency keeps
dropping constantly. So just program the register with the recommended
value.

Leaving the interrupt enabled doesn't seem to do any harm so far. So
I've decided to leave it on for now, just to avoid making CHV a
special case.

This fixes the performance regression from:

Starting with Cherryview, devices may have a varying number of EU for
a given ID due to creative fusing. Punit support different frequency for
different fuse data. We use this patch to help get total eu enabled and
read the right offset to get RP0

avoid sending info to userspace

had already landed, which made this the responsibility of the DRM core.
The result was that we were kfree()'ing the state twice, and also

The fix is to simply not try to cleanup the state in the i915 teardown
code now that the core handles this for us.

Rodrigo Vivi a35cc9d0c0 drm/i915: Fix and clean BDW PCH identification
It seems in the past we have BDW with PCH not been propperly identified
and we force it to be LPT and we were warning !IS_HASWELL on propper identification.

Now that products are out there we are receiveing logs with this incorrect WARN.
And also according to local tests on all production BDW here ULT or HALO we don't
need this force anymore. So let's clean this block for real.

Bob Paauwe af1a7301c7 drm/i915: Only fence tiled region of object.
When creating a fence for a tiled object, only fence the area that
makes up the actual tiles.  The object may be larger than the tiled
area and if we allow those extra addresses to be fenced, they'll
get converted to addresses beyond where the object is mapped. This
opens up the possiblity of writes beyond the end of object.

To prevent this, we adjust the size of the fence to only encompass
the area that makes up the actual tiles.  The extra space is considered
un-tiled and now behaves as if it was a linear object.

    drm/i915: respect the VBT minimum backlight brightness

introduced a bug which resulted in inconsistent brightness levels on
different machines. If a suspended was entered with the screen off some
machines would resume with the screen at minimum brightness and others
at maximum brightness.

The following commands can be used to produce this behavior.

  xset dpms force off
  sleep 1
  sudo systemctl suspend
  (resume ...)

The root cause of this problem is a comparison which checks to see if
the backlight level is zero when the panel is enabled.  If it is zero,
it is set to the maximum level.  Unfortunately, not all machines have a
minimum level of zero. On those machines the level is left at the
minimum instead of begin set to the maximum.

Fix the bug by updating the comparison to check for the minimum
backlight level instead of zero.  Also, expand the comparison for
the possible case when the level is less than the minimum.

David Woodhouse f48a01651b drm/i915: Init PPGTT before context enable
Commit 82460d972 ("drm/i915: Rework ppgtt init to no require an aliasing
ppgtt") introduced a regression on Broadwell, triggering the following
IOMMU fault at startup:

Further commentary from Daniel:

I sugggested this change to David after staring at the offending patch
for a while. I have no idea and theory whatsoever why this would upset
the gpu less than the other way round. But it seems to work. David
promised to chase hw people a bit more to get a more meaningful answer.

Wrt the comment that this deletes: I've done some digging and afaict
loading context before ppgtt enable was once required before our recent
restructuring of the context/ppgtt init code: Before that context sw
setup (i.e. allocating the default context) and hw setup was smashed
together.  Also the setup of the default context was the bit that
actually allocated the aliasing ppgtt structures. Which is the reason
for the context before ppgtt depency.

Or was, since with all the untangling there's no no real depency any
more (functional, who knows what the hw is doing), so the comment is
just stale.

Matt Roper 9289058362 drm/plane-helper: Skip prepare_fb/cleanup_fb when newfb==oldfb
When commiting a plane update where the framebuffer doesn't change, we
can skip the prepare_fb/cleanup_fb steps.  This also allows us to avoid
an unnecessary vblank wait at the end of the operation when we're just
moving a plane and not changing its image (e.g., for a cursor).

At the moment, i915 is the only upstream driver using the transitional
plane helpers, and thus the only driver affected by this change.

Note that this replicates a corresponding change in the atomic helpers
implemented in

framebuffer for both the overlay and primary planes.

operations. For plane update only win_commit is needed.

Gustavo Padovan 8837deeab4 drm/exynos: remove struct exynos_drm_overlay
struct exynos_drm_overlay has no practical advantage nor serves as
important piece of the exynos API design. The only place it was used
was inside the struct exynos_plane which was just causing a extra
access overhead. Users had to access the overlay first and just then
get the plane information it contains.

This patch merges struct exynos_drm_overlay into struct exynos_plane.
It also renames struct exynos_plane to struct exynos_drm_plane.

The rational is to cut one step to access plane information.

Michel Dänzer 5636d2f842 drm/radeon: Restore GART table contents after pinning it in VRAM v3
The GART table BO has to be moved out of VRAM for suspend/resume. Any
updates to the GART table during that time were silently dropped without
this change. This caused GPU lockups on resume in some cases, see the bug
reports referenced below.

This might also make GPU reset more robust in some cases, as we no longer
rely on the GART table in VRAM being preserved across the GPU
lockup/reset.

v2: Add logic to radeon_gart_table_vram_pin directly instead of
    reinstating radeon_gart_restore
v3: Move code after assignment of rdev->gart.table_addr so that the GART
    TLB flush can work as intended, add code comment explaining why we're
    doing this

Rob Clark 5a1aa4b447 drm/radeon: make MMU_NOTIFIER optional
In cases where MMU_NOTIFIER is not available, userptr will not be
available.  Similar to i915, although not making an exception for
CAP_SYS_ADMIN.

The proposed userspace patches for userptr seem to handle the fall-
back properly, so a userptr-less kernel should not be a problem.

Oded Gabbay 5a8888a311 drm/radeon: Don't increment pipe_id in kgd_init_pipeline
This patch fixes the behavior of kgd_init_pipeline in that this function
shouldn't automatically increase the pipe_id argument by 1 right at the start
of the function.

This is because the first_pipe value might not be always 1, and because a
proper interface function should not hide this info inside its implementation.
In other words, the calling function should provide the real pipe_id and not
count on kgd_init_pipeline to "fix" it.

Daniel Vetter b770372625 drm/probe-helper: clamp unknown connector status in the poll work
On some chipset we try to avoid possibly invasive output detection
methods (like load detect which can cause flickering elsewhere) in the
output poll work. Drivers could hence return unknown when a previous
full ->detect call returned a different state.

This change will generate a hotplug event, forcing userspace to do a
full scan. This in turn updates the connector->status field so that we
will _again_ get a state change when the hotplug work re-runs in 10
seconds.

To avoid this ping-pong loop detect this situation and clamp the
connector state to the old value.

Patch is inspired by a patch from Knut Peterson. Knut's patch
completely ignored connector state changes if either the old or new
status was unknown, which seemed to be a bit too agressive to me.

Daniel Vetter 162b6a57ac drm/probe-helper: don't lose hotplug event
There's a race window (small for hpd, 10s large for polled outputs)
where userspace could sneak in with an unrelated connnector probe
ioctl call and eat the hotplug event (since neither the hpd nor the
poll code see a state change).

To avoid this, check whether the connector state changes in all other
->detect calls (in the current helper code that's only probe_single)
and if that's the case, fire off a hotplug event. Note that we can't
directly call the hotplug event handler, since that expects that no
locks are held (due to reentrancy with the fb code to update the kms
console).

Also, this requires that drivers using the probe_single helper
function set up the poll work. All current drivers do that already,
and with the reworked hpd handling there'll be no downside to
unconditionally setting up the poll work any more.

v2: Review from Rob Clark
- Don't bail out of the output poll work immediately if it's disabled
  to make sure we deliver the delayed hoptplug events. Instead just
  jump to the tail.
- Don't scheduel the work when it's not set up. Would be a driver bug
  since using probe helpers for anything dynamic without them
  initialized makes them all noops.

Ben Skeggs be83cd4ef9 drm/nouveau: finalise nvkm namespace switch (no binary change)
The namespace of NVKM is being changed to nvkm_ instead of nouveau_,
which will be used for the DRM part of the driver.  This is being
done in order to make it very clear as to what part of the driver a
given symbol belongs to, and as a minor step towards splitting the
DRM driver out to be able to stand on its own (for virt).

Because there's already a large amount of churn here anyway, this is
as good a time as any to also switch to NVIDIA's device and chipset
naming to ease collaboration with them.

A comparison of objdump disassemblies proves no code changes.

Ben Skeggs c39f472e9f drm/nouveau: remove symlinks, move core/ to nvkm/ (no code changes)
The symlinks were annoying some people, and they're not used anywhere
else in the kernel tree.  The include directory structure has been
changed so that symlinks aren't needed anymore.

NVKM has been moved from core/ to nvkm/ to make it more obvious as to
what the directory is for, and as some minor prep for when NVKM gets
split out into its own module (virt) at a later date.

Alexandre Courbot 055a65d598 drm/nouveau: merge nouveau_platform.ko into nouveau.ko
Having the two modules separated causes various unneeded complications,
including having to export symbols accessed between the modules. Make
things simpler by compiling platform device support into nouveau.ko.
Platform device support remains optional and is only compiled on Tegra.

Vince Hsu 9f7fd620af drm/nouveau/pwr: add support for GK20A
This patch adds PWR support for GK20A. But instead of adding the PWR
features like firmware loading and communication with PMU firmware, we
add the DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling), which is one of
the PMU firmware's jobs on dGPUs, in this patch. This refers to the
idle signals provided by the NVIDIA hardware and tries to adjust the
performance level based on the calculated target. The reclocking policy
can be fine-tuned later when we have more real use cases.

Vince Hsu f8a8546194 drm/nouveau/clk: allow non-blocking for nouveau_clock_astate()
There might be some callers of nouveau_clock_astate(), and they are from
inetrrupt context. So we must ensure that this function can be atomic in
that condition. This patch adds one parameter which is subsequently passed
to nouveau_pstate_calc(). Therefore we can choose whether we want to wait
for the pstate work's completion or not.

Ben Skeggs 9ba8310647 drm/nv50-/kms: reject attempts at flipping to incompatible framebuffer
Looks like a userspace bug can trigger this somehow during a mode
switch, causing: EVO complaint -> semaphores get out of sync ->
entire display stalled.

We likely want to be even stricter than this (or at least deal
better if EVO rejects our request), but I'll save that for the
drm_plane/atomic conversion and just fix the bug that I already
know can be triggered.

The hilarious part is that, under X, this won't work anyway because the
server decides to construct its own modes for some reason.

Tested with modetest, which isn't quite as insane.  I'd hope that
wayland is more sensible.

Alexandre Courbot 495b21761a drm/nouveau: sgdma: add comment around suspiscious error handler
Common programming sense dictates that resources allocated by a function
are freed by this function should it fails, but this is not the case for
the allocated structure of nouveau_sgdma_create_ttm(). It seems that
n00b contributors attempt to fix this one like bugs flying towards a bug
zapper, so add a comment to hopefully prevent this from happening
anymore.

Ben Skeggs 0527a04fe8 drm/nouveau/core: prepare printk for NULL engine pointer on device object tree
The [  SUBDEV] specified in log output will be a bit different for
children of a subdev now.  Previously this reports whatever subdev
is specified by object.engine, now it reports the subdev that owns
the object (so, up object.parent somewhere).

Later patches will append object and class identifiers to messages,
which will help clarify where it's coming from.

Ben Skeggs 8d90d1ef88 drm/gf100-/bar: don't fill in bar->alloc until after all vm setup done
gpuobj has a condition of (bar && bar->alloc) around usage to avoid
some nasty ordering issues (which, i've now been reminded to add a
todo about fixing...) between bar and vm.

The bar->alloc part of the condition isn't currently necessary (it
used to be, another change made bar always NULL where it matters),
so we got lucky.  That won't be the case for much longer.

Andrew Jackson cfe3875725 drm/i2c: tda998x: set the CEC I2C address based on the slave I2C address
The I2C address for the TDA9989 and TDA19989 is fixed at 0x34 but the
two LSBs of the TDA19988's address are set by two configuration pins
on the chip.  Irrespective of the chip, the associated CEC peripheral's
I2C address is based upon the main I2C address.

This patch avoids any special handling required to support systems that
contain multiple TDA19988 devices on the same I2C bus.

Chris Wilson cdd1cf799b drm: Make drm_read() more robust against multithreaded races
The current implementation of drm_read() faces a number of issues:

1. Upon an error, it consumes the event which may lead to the client
blocking.
2. Upon an error, it forgets about events already copied
3. If it fails to copy a single event with O_NONBLOCK it falls into a
infinite loop of reporting EAGAIN.
3. There is a race between multiple waiters and blocking reads of the
events list.

Here, we inline drm_dequeue_event() into drm_read() so that we can take
the spinlock around the list walking and event copying, and importantly
reorder the error handling to avoid the issues above.

Thierry Reding 01934c2a69 drm/fb-helper: Propagate errors from initial config failure
Make drm_fb_helper_initial_config() return an int rather than a bool so
that the error can be properly propagated. While at it, update drivers
to propagate errors further rather than just ignore them.

Boris Brezillon 1a396789f6 drm: add Atmel HLCDC Display Controller support
The Atmel HLCDC (HLCD Controller) IP available on some Atmel SoCs (i.e.
at91sam9n12, at91sam9x5 family or sama5d3 family) provides a display
controller device.

This display controller supports at least one primary plane and might
provide several overlays and an hardware cursor depending on the IP
version.

At the moment, this driver only implements an RGB connector to interface
with LCD panels, but support for other kind of external devices might be
added later.

Jay Cornwall d752f95e55 drm/amdkfd: Preserve CP_MQD_IQ_RPTR internal state
CP microcode uses undocumented bits in this register to record queue
state information. The KFD zeroes these bits in update_mqd, when invoked
through the UPDATE_QUEUE ioctl, causing incoherent state when the ioctl
is used to successively unmap and map a queue.

Since the queue type cannot be changed in this path, move the MQD write
to init_mqd.

Thomas Hellstrom 496eb6fd2c drm/vmwgfx: Replace the hw mutex with a hw spinlock
Fixes a case where we call vmw_fifo_idle() from within a wait function with
task state !TASK_RUNNING, which is illegal.

In addition, make the locking fine-grained, so that it is performed once
for every read- and write operation. This is of course more costly, but we
don't perform much register access in the timing critical paths anyway. Instead
we have the extra benefit of being sure that we don't forget the hw lock around
register accesses. I think currently the kms code was quite buggy w r t this.

Oded Gabbay b8cbab042c drm/amdkfd: Allow user to limit only queues per device
This patch replaces the two current amdkfd module parameters with a new one.

The current parameters that are being replaced are:

- Maximum number of HSA processes
- Maximum number of queues per process

The new parameter that replaces them is called "Maximum queues per device"

This replacement achieves two goals:

- Allows the user to have as many HSA processes as it wants (until
  a maximum of 512 HSA processes in Kaveri).

- Removes the limitation the user had on maximum number of queues per HSA
  process. E.g. the user can now have processes which only have one queue and
  other processes which have hundreds of queues, while before the user
  couldn't have more than 128 queues per process (as default).

The default value of the new parameter is 4096 (32 * 128, which were the
defaults of the old parameters). There is almost no additional GART memory
required for the default case. As a reminder, this amount of queues requires a
little bit below 4MB of GART memory.

In addition, This patch defines a new counter for queues accounting in the DQM
structure. This is done because the current counter only counts active queues
which allows the user to create more queues than the
max_num_of_queues_per_device module parameter allows.

However, we need the current counter for the runlist packet build process, so
the solution is to have a dedicated counter for this accounting.

This is an important optimization for avoiding read-after-write (RAW)
stalls in the HiZ buffer.  Certain workloads would run very slowly with
HiZ enabled, but run much faster with the "hiz=false" driconf option.
With this patch, they run at full speed even with HiZ.

Increases performance in OglVSInstancing by about 2.7x on Braswell.

Oded Gabbay 939f4a20a7 drm/amdkfd: Remove sync_with_hw() from amdkfd
This patch completely removes the sync_with_hw() because it was broken and
actually there is no point of using it.

This function was used to:

- Make sure that the submitted packet to the HIQ (which is a kernel queue) was
  read by the CP. However, it was discovered that the method this function used
  to do that (checking wptr == rptr) is not consistent with how the actual CP
  firmware works in all cases.

- Make sure that the queue is empty before issuing the next packet. To achieve
  that, the function blocked amdkfd from continuing until the recently
  submitted packet was consumed. However, the acquire_packet_buffer() already
  checks if there is enough room for a new packet so calling sync_with_hw() is
  redundant.

Rodrigo Vivi 46c3fce60b drm/i915: VLV/CHV PSR needs to exit PSR on every flush.
ON these platforms we don't have hardware tracking working for any case.
So we need to fake this on software by forcing psr to exit on every
flush.

Manual tests indicated this was needed.

Ben Goz f0ec5b9905 drm/amdkfd: Fix for-loop when allocating HQD (non-HWS)
This patch fixes a minor bug in allocate_hqd(), where the loop run from the
next-to-allocate pipe until the number of pipes.

This is wrong because we need to consider the possibility where
next-to-allocate pipe is not 0, and thus, the for-loop only checks part of the
pipes and doesn't wrap-around, as it supposed to do.

Therefore, we add another counting variable to make sure we go over all the
pipes, regardless of where we start to look at the first iteration of the loop.

This bug only affected non-HWS mode. In HWS mode, the CP fw is responsible for
allocating the HQD.

Ville Syrjälä 1d83d957e6 drm/i915: Don't pretend SDVO hotplug works on 915
915 doens't support hotplug at all, so we shouldn't try to pretend
otherwise in the SDVO code.

Note: i915 does have hotplug support in hw, we simply never enabled it
in i915.ko: There's only one hpd bit for all outputs, so not worth the
bother to add this special case for this rather old platform.

Ville Syrjälä d2182a6608 drm/i915: Don't register HDMI connectors for eDP ports on VLV/CHV
If we determine that a specific port is eDP, don't register the HDMI
connector/encoder for it. The reason being that we want to disable
HPD interrupts for eDP ports when the display is off, but the presence
of the extra HDMI connector would demand the HPD interrupt to remain
enabled all the time.

Ville Syrjälä 7c7e10db46 drm/i915: Make hpd arrays big enough to avoid out of bounds access
intel_hpd_irq_handler() walks the passed in hpd[] array assuming it
contains HPD_NUM_PINS elements. Currently that's not true as we don't
specify an explicit size for the arrays when initializing them. Avoid
the out of bounds accesses by specifying the size for the arrays.

Rodrigo Vivi e85a5c7989 Revert "drm/i915/chv: Use timeout mode for RC6 on chv"
This reverts commit 5a0afd4b78.

Although timeout mode allows higher residency it impact badly on performance.
I believe while we don't have a way to balance between performance and
power savings at runtime I believe we have to revert and prioritize
performance that was impacted a lot.
