The match level computed by the driver gets to be wrong for decap
rules with wildcarded inner packet match such as:
tc filter add dev vxlan_sys_4789 protocol all parent ffff: prio 2 flower
enc_dst_ip 192.168.0.9 enc_key_id 100 enc_dst_port 4789

action mirred egress redirect dev eth1
The FW errs for a missing matching meta-data indicator for the outer
headers (where we do have a match), and a wrong matching meta-data
indicator for the inner headers (where we don't have a match).
Fix that by taking into account the matching on the tunnel info and
relating the match level of the encapsulated packet to the firmware
inner headers indicator in case of decap.
As for vxlan we mandate a match on the tunnel udp dst port, and in general
we practically madndate a match on the source or dest ip for any IP tunnel,
the fix was done in a minimal manner around the tunnel match parsing code.

Sven Auhagen reports that if he changes a SFP+ module for a SFP module
on the Macchiatobin Single Shot, the link does not come back up. For
Sven, it is as easy as:
- Insert a SFP+ module connected, and use ping6 to verify link is up.
- Remove SFP+ module
- Insert SFP 1000base-X module use ping6 to verify link is up: Link
up event did not trigger and the link is down
but that doesn't show the problem for me. Locally, this has been
reproduced by:
- Boot with no modules.
- Insert SFP+ module, confirm link is up.
- Replace module with 25000base-X module. Confirm link is up.
- Set remote end down, link is reported as dropped at both ends.
- Set remote end up, link is reported up at remote end, but not local
end due to lack of link interrupt.
Fix this by setting up both GMAC and XLG interrupts for port 0, but
only unmasking the appropriate interrupt according to the current mode
set in the mac_config() method. However, only do the mask/unmask
dance when we are really changing the link mode to avoid missing any
link interrupts.

Add support for the RX checksum offload. This is enabled by default and
may be disabled and re-enabled using 'ethtool':
# ethtool -K eth0 rx off
# ethtool -K eth0 rx on
Some Ether MACs provide a simple checksumming scheme which appears to be
completely compatible with CHECKSUM_COMPLETE: sum of all packet data after
the L2 header is appended to packet data; this may be trivially read by
the driver and used to update the skb accordingly. The same checksumming
scheme is implemented in the EtherAVB MACs and now supported by the 'ravb'
driver.
In terms of performance, throughput is close to gigabit line rate with the
RX checksum offload both enabled and disabled. The 'perf' output, however,
appears to indicate that significantly less time is spent in do_csum() --
this is as expected.

the field to 'hw_checksum' for the Ether DMAC "intelligent checksum",
however some Ether MACs implement a simpler checksumming scheme, so that
name now seems misleading. Rename that field to 'csmr' as the "intelligent
checksum" is always controlled by the CSMR register.

During sendmsg() a cloned skb is saved via dp83640_txtstamp() in
->tx_queue. After the NIC sends this packet, the PHY will reply with a
timestamp for that TX packet. If the cable is pulled at the right time I
don't see that packet. It might gets flushed as part of queue shutdown
on NIC's side.
Once the link is up again then after the next sendmsg() we enqueue
another skb in dp83640_txtstamp() and have two on the list. Then the PHY
will send a reply and decode_txts() attaches it to the first skb on the
list.
No crash occurs since refcounting works but we are one packet behind.
linuxptp/ptp4l usually closes the socket and opens a new one (in such a
timeout case) so those "stale" replies never get there. However it does
not resume normal operation anymore.
Purge old skbs in decode_txts().

For simplifying the code, this patch adds hclge_cmd_check_retval() to
check the return value of the command.
Also, according the IMP's description, when there are several descriptors
in a command, then the IMP will save the return value on the last
description, so hclge_cmd_check_retval() just check the last one for this
case.

can be done in a function to avoid code duplication and aid code
readability.
This patch adds three separate functions do the job. Also, the
function name more or less make the comment redundant, so remove

The following ALU32 logic shift supports are missing:
BPF_ALU | BPF_LSH | BPF_X
BPF_ALU | BPF_RSH | BPF_X
BPF_ALU | BPF_RSH | BPF_K
For BPF_RSH | BPF_K, it could be implemented using NFP direct shift
instruction. For the other BPF_X shifts, NFP indirect shifts sequences need
to be used.
Separate code-gen hook is assigned to each instruction to make the
implementation clear.

Shifts by zero do nothing, and should be treated as nops.
Even though compiler is not supposed to generate such instructions and
manual written assembly is unlikely to have them, but they are legal
instructions and have defined behavior.
This patch correct existing shifts code-gen to make sure they do nothing
when shift amount is zero except when the instruction is ALU32 for which
high bits need to be cleared.
For shift amount bigger than type size, already, NFP JIT back-end errors
out for immediate shift and only low 5 bits will be taken into account for
indirect shift which is the same as x86.

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo entry[];
};
instance = kzalloc(sizeof(struct foo) + count * sizeof(struct boo), GFP_KERNEL);
Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can
now use the new struct_size() helper:
instance = kzalloc(struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);

Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy
way [1].
To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to
the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in
that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation
consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks.
Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5b
("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter").
I also removed one header search path in:
drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/brcm80211/brcmutil/Makefile
I was able to compile without it.

Apparently the rt2x61 firmware fails temporarily to decode
broadcast packets if the shared keys are not assigned
in the "correct" sequence. At the same time unicast
packets work fine, since they are encrypted with the
pairwise key.
At least with WPA2 CCMP mode the shared keys are
set in the following sequence: keyidx=1, 2, 1, 2.
After a while only keyidx 2 gets decrypted, and
keyidx 1 is ignored, probably because there is never
a keyidx 3.
Symptoms are arping -b works for 10 minutes, since
keyidx=2 is used for broadcast, and then it stops
working for 10 minutes, because keyidx=1 is used.
That failure mode repeats forever.
Note, the firmware does not even know which keyidx
corresponds to which hw_key_idx so the firmware is
trying to be smarter than the driver, which is bound
to fail.
As workaround the function rt61pci_config_shared_key
requests software decryption of the shared keys,
by returning EOPNOTSUPP. However, pairwise keys are
still handled by hardware which works just fine.

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding the
size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along with memory
for some number of elements for that array. For example:
struct foo {
int stuff;
void *entry[];
};
instance = kzalloc(sizeof(struct foo) + sizeof(void *) * count, GFP_KERNEL);
Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can now
use the new struct_size() helper:
instance = kzalloc(struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);
This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

WoL handling for the RTL8168 family is a little bit tricky because of
different types of broken BIOS and/or chip quirks.
Two known issues:
1. Network properly resumes from suspend only if WoL is enabled in the chip.
2. Some notebooks wake up immediately if system is suspended and network
device is wakeup-enabled.
Few patches tried to deal with this:
7edf6d314c ("r8169: disable WOL per default")
18041b5236 ("r8169: restore previous behavior to accept BIOS WoL
settings")
Currently we have the situation that the chip WoL settings as set by
the BIOS are respected (to prevent issue 1), but the device doesn't get
wakeup-enabled (to prevent issue 2).
This leads to another issue:
If systemd is told to set WoL it first checks whether the requested
settings are active already (and does nothing if yes). Due to the chip
WoL flags being set properly systemd assumes that WoL is configured
properly in our case. Result is that device doesn't get wakeup-enabled
and WoL doesn't work (until it's set e.g. by ethtool).
This patch now:
- leaves the chip WoL settings as is (to prevent issue 1)
- keeps the behavior to not wakeup-enable the device initially
(to prevent issue 2)
- In addition we report WoL as being disabled in get_wol, matching
that device isn't wakeup-enabled. If systemd is told to enable WoL,
it will therefore detect that it has to do something and will
call set_wol.
Of course the user still has the option to override this with
e.g. ethtool.
v2:
- Don't just exclude __rtl8169_get_wol() from compiling, remove it.
v3:
- adjust commit message

While implementing ipvlan l3 and l3s mode for kubernetes CNI plugin,
I ran into the issue that while l3 mode is working fine, l3s mode
does not have any connectivity to kube-apiserver and hence all pods
end up in Error state as well. The ipvlan master device sits on
top of a bond device and hostns traffic to kube-apiserver (also running
in hostns) is DNATed from 10.152.183.1:443 to 139.178.29.207:37573
where the latter is the address of the bond0. While in l3 mode, a
curl to https://10.152.183.1:443 or to https://139.178.29.207:37573
works fine from hostns, neither of them do in case of l3s. In the
latter only a curl to https://127.0.0.1:37573 appeared to work where
for local addresses of bond0 I saw kernel suddenly starting to emit
ARP requests to query HW address of bond0 which remained unanswered
and neighbor entries in INCOMPLETE state. These ARP requests only
happen while in l3s.
Debugging this further, I found the issue is that l3s mode is piggy-
backing on l3 master device, and in this case local routes are using
l3mdev_master_dev_rcu(dev) instead of net->loopback_dev as per commit
f5a0aab84b ("net: ipv4: dst for local input routes should use l3mdev
if relevant") and 5f02ce24c2 ("net: l3mdev: Allow the l3mdev to be
a loopback"). I found that reverting them back into using the
net->loopback_dev fixed ipvlan l3s connectivity and got everything
working for the CNI.
Now judging from 4fbae7d83c ("ipvlan: Introduce l3s mode") and the
l3mdev paper in [0] the only sole reason why ipvlan l3s is relying
on l3 master device is to get the l3mdev_ip_rcv() receive hook for
setting the dst entry of the input route without adding its own
ipvlan specific hacks into the receive path, however, any l3 domain
semantics beyond just that are breaking l3s operation. Note that
ipvlan also has the ability to dynamically switch its internal
operation from l3 to l3s for all ports via ipvlan_set_port_mode()
at runtime. In any case, l3 vs l3s soley distinguishes itself by
'de-confusing' netfilter through switching skb->dev to ipvlan slave
device late in NF_INET_LOCAL_IN before handing the skb to L4.
Minimal fix taken here is to add a IFF_L3MDEV_RX_HANDLER flag which,
if set from ipvlan setup, gets us only the wanted l3mdev_l3_rcv() hook
without any additional l3mdev semantics on top. This should also have
minimal impact since dev->priv_flags is already hot in cache. With
this set, l3s mode is working fine and I also get things like
masquerading pod traffic on the ipvlan master properly working.

The MediaTek MT7621 SoC device contains a 7530 switch, and the existing
linux kernel 7530 DSA switch driver can be used with it.
The bulk of the changes required stem from the 7621 having different
regulator and pad setup. The existing setup of these in the 7530
driver appears to be very specific to its implemtation in the Mediatek

Create a new devicetree type, "mediatek,mt7621", to support the 7530

We do not reset or free up unused buffers when enabling/disabling XDP,
so it can happen that xdp_frames are freed after disabling XDP or
sk_buffs are freed after enabling XDP on xdp tx queues.
Thus we need to handle both forms (xdp_frames and sk_buffs) regardless
of XDP setting.
One way to trigger this problem is to disable XDP when napi_tx is
enabled. In that case, virtnet_xdp_set() calls virtnet_napi_enable()
which kicks NAPI. The NAPI handler will call virtnet_poll_cleantx()
which invokes free_old_xmit_skbs() for queues which have been used by
XDP.
Note that even with this change we need to keep skipping
free_old_xmit_skbs() from NAPI handlers when XDP is enabled, because XDP
tx queues do not aquire queue locks.

Commit 8dcc5b0ab0 ("virtio_net: fix ndo_xdp_xmit crash towards dev not
ready for XDP") tried to avoid access to unexpected sq while XDP is
disabled, but was not complete.
There was a small window which causes out of bounds sq access in
virtnet_xdp_xmit() while disabling XDP.
An example case of
- curr_queue_pairs = 6 (2 for SKB and 4 for XDP)
- online_cpu_num = xdp_queue_paris = 4
when XDP is enabled:
CPU 0 CPU 1
(Disabling XDP) (Processing redirected XDP frames)
virtnet_xdp_xmit()
virtnet_xdp_set()
_virtnet_set_queues()
set curr_queue_pairs (2)
check if rq->xdp_prog is not NULL
virtnet_xdp_sq(vi)
qp = curr_queue_pairs -
xdp_queue_pairs +
smp_processor_id()
= 2 - 4 + 1 = -1
sq = &vi->sq[qp] // out of bounds access
set xdp_queue_pairs (0)
rq->xdp_prog = NULL
Basically we should not change curr_queue_pairs and xdp_queue_pairs
while someone can read the values. Thus, when disabling XDP, assign NULL
to rq->xdp_prog first, and wait for RCU grace period, then change
xxx_queue_pairs.
Note that we need to keep the current order when enabling XDP though.

When napi_tx is enabled, virtnet_poll_cleantx() called
free_old_xmit_skbs() even for xdp send queue.
This is bogus since the queue has xdp_frames, not sk_buffs, thus mangled
device tx bytes counters because skb->len is meaningless value, and even
triggered oops due to general protection fault on freeing them.
Since xdp send queues do not aquire locks, old xdp_frames should be
freed only in virtnet_xdp_xmit(), so just skip free_old_xmit_skbs() for
xdp send queues.
Similarly virtnet_poll_tx() called free_old_xmit_skbs(). This NAPI
handler is called even without calling start_xmit() because cb for tx is
by default enabled. Once the handler is called, it enabled the cb again,
and then the handler would be called again. We don't need this handler
for XDP, so don't enable cb as well as not calling free_old_xmit_skbs().
Also, we need to disable tx NAPI when disabling XDP, so
virtnet_poll_tx() can safely access curr_queue_pairs and
xdp_queue_pairs, which are not atomically updated while disabling XDP.

Commit 4e09ff5362 ("virtio-net: disable NAPI only when enabled during
XDP set") tried to fix inappropriate NAPI enabling/disabling when
!netif_running(), but was not complete.
On error path virtio_net could enable NAPI even when !netif_running().
This can cause enabling NAPI twice on virtnet_open(), which would
trigger BUG_ON() in napi_enable().

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding the
size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along with memory
for some number of elements for that array. For example:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo entry[];
};
instance = kvzalloc(sizeof(struct foo) + count * sizeof(struct boo), GFP_KERNEL);
Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can now
use the new struct_size() helper:
instance = kvzalloc(struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);

In the regular flow, when we receive an assert, ieee80211_reconfig is
called which reconfig the driver using iwl_mvm_mac_start.
iwl_mvm_mac_start is clearing the restart bit and does dump collection.
Prior to setting the device up, ieee80211_reconfig does not call
iwl_mvm_mac_start since there is nothing to reconfig and we miss the
dump collection of the assert.
solve it by checking the restart bit before we stop the device
and trigger a dump collection in case it is set.
note that we don't need to do it in the fmac case since in fmac
assert flow in iwl_fmac_nic_error we call iwl_fw_dbg_collect_desc
so we can be sure that there will a dump collection in
iwl_fmac_stop_device.

TX path lock was introduced in order to prevent out of order
invocations of TX.
This can happen in the following flow:
TX path invoked from net dev
Packet dequeued
TX path invoked from RX path
Packet dequeued
Packet TXed
Packet TXed
However, we don't really need a lock. If TX path is already
invoked from some location, other paths can simply abort their
execution, instead of waiting to the first path to finish, and
then discover queue is (likely) empty or stopped.
Replace the lock with an atomic variable to track TX ownership.
This simplifies the locking dependencies between RX and TX paths,
and should improve performance.

Clean up the LDBG config command to not be called "continuous
recording", and while at it actually remove the continuous
recording implementation completely since it was only used for
store & forward architectures.
This also fixes a bug at least in iwl_fw_dbg_buffer_allocation()
because what's now "__le32 type" (matching the firmware) used to
be "__le16 enable_recording", so the buffer allocation config
sub-struct would erroneously have started at the wrong offset.
In the other cases this didn't actually lead to a bug as other
bytes in pad[] were all zeroes, so accessing the 16-bit value as
a 32-bit value wouldn't make a difference (in little endian.)
