Hao Wei Tee ab1068d686 iwlwifi: pcie: compare with number of IRQs requested for, not number of CPUs
When there are 16 or more logical CPUs, we request for
`IWL_MAX_RX_HW_QUEUES` (16) IRQs only as we limit to that number of
IRQs, but later on we compare the number of IRQs returned to
nr_online_cpus+2 instead of max_irqs, the latter being what we
actually asked for. This ends up setting num_rx_queues to 17 which
causes lots of out-of-bounds array accesses later on.

Compare to max_irqs instead, and also add an assertion in case
num_rx_queues > IWM_MAX_RX_HW_QUEUES.

Stanislaw Gruszka 52a1923629 Revert "rt2800: use TXOP_BACKOFF for probe frames"
This reverts commit fb47ada8dc.

In some situations when we set TXOP_BACKOFF, the probe frame is
not sent at all. What it worse then sending probe frame as part
of AMPDU and can degrade 11n performance to 11g rates.

Ganapathi Bhat ae30bdaa4c mwifiex: skip sending GT_REKEY_OFFLOAD_CFG if firmware has no support
If firmware does not support embedded supplicant, then it in turn
will not support GT rekey offloading. If this is the case, then
driver must not advertise WOWLAN flags related to GTK rekey and
it must also skip sending the GT_REKEY_OFFLOAD_CFG command.

Ganapathi Bhat b817047ae7 mwifiex: handle race during mwifiex_usb_disconnect
Race condition is observed during rmmod of mwifiex_usb:

1. The rmmod thread will call mwifiex_usb_disconnect(), download
   SHUTDOWN command and do wait_event_interruptible_timeout(),
   waiting for response.

2. The main thread will handle the response and will do a
   wake_up_interruptible(), unblocking rmmod thread.

3. On getting unblocked, rmmod thread  will make rx_cmd.urb = NULL in
   mwifiex_usb_free().

4. The main thread will try to resubmit rx_cmd.urb in
   mwifiex_usb_submit_rx_urb(), which is NULL.

To fix, wait for main thread to complete before calling
mwifiex_usb_free().

Eyal Reizer 6e91d48371 wlcore: sdio: check for valid platform device data before suspend
the wl pointer can be null In case only wlcore_sdio is probed while
no WiLink module is successfully probed, as in the case of mounting a
wl12xx module while using a device tree file configured with wl18xx
related settings.
In this case the system was crashing in wl1271_suspend() as platform
device data is not set.
Make sure wl the pointer is valid before using it.

Ping-Ke Shih 0a9f8f0a1b rtlwifi: fix btmpinfo timeout while processing C2H_BT_INFO
In former patch, I enqueu all C2H commands and processed by a workqueue.
In case C2H_BT_INFO will issue a H2C command to set BT reg, and wait for
a C2H ack. But it is totally impossible that C2H workqueue waits for a
C2H command, so kernel log warn
	rtlwifi: :<0> btmpinfo wait (req_num=0) timeout

Since the C2H ack command C2H_BT_MP can be safely processed in interrupt
context, add a fast command path to deal with the command.

Ping-Ke Shih 9ae6ed271a rtlwifi: use sk_buff to queue C2H commands
We use 'struct rtl_c2hcmd' to store C2H commands originally, and the code
is slightly complex to enqueue and dequeue and also wastes time to
allocate and memcpy data. Since C2H commands are asynchronous events,
they can be processed in work queue, so RX ISR enqueues C2H result in
removal of rtl_c2h_packet_handler().

Tzu-En Huang 6acfbb81ab rtlwifi: support accurate nullfunc frame tx ack report
In order to realize the keep-alive mechanism in mac80211 stack, reporting
accurate tx ack status for nullfunc frame is added in this commit.

If current frame is nullfunc frame, we ask firmware to report by filling
TX report bit in TX descriptor. After this frame DMA done, TX interrupt is
triggered but TX status is unknown at this moment, so enqueue this skb
into tx_report->queue. Finally, C2H report will be received if the frame
is transmitted successfully or retried over, and then we report to mac80211
with IEEE80211_TX_STAT_ACK flag only if it's successful. Otherwise, if
failure or timeout (one second), we report to mac80211 without this flag.

Tony Lindgren 728a9dc61f wlcore: sdio: Fix flakey SDIO runtime PM handling
We can have pm_runtime_get_sync() return 1, and we can have
pm_runtime_put_sync() return -EBUSY. See rpm_suspend() and
rpm_resume() for more information.

Fix the issue by returning 0 from wl12xx_sdio_power_on() on success.
And use pm_runtime_put() instead of pm_runtime_put_sync() for
wl12xx_sdio_power_off(), then the MMC subsystem will idle the bus
when suitable.

Otherwise wlcore can sometimes get confused and may report bogus
errors and WLAN connection can fail.

Note that while wlcore checks the return value for wl1271_power_on(),
the return value is ignored for wl1271_power_off(). Let's fix them
both though to avoid further confusion in the future.

Jian Shen f6f75abc46 net: hns3: Adds support for led locate command for copper port
Firmware now supports control of all leds. Existing HNS3 driver code
only supported led locate command over SFP Fibre ports. But now it
is also supported over copper port.
This patch removes existing not needed code for the led locate
command and updates the led control command between driver and
firmware.

Jian Shen 16b496fd90 net: hns3: Remove unused led control code
In the previous implementation of led control for fibre port , parses the
port speed configuration, checks the link status and traffic status per
second, and updates the blink status of link led, traffic led and speed
led.

Now, the firmware takes responsibility to handle the led, the dirver just
needs to deal with locate command.

So the codes for link led, traffic led and speed led are useless now. This
patch removes these redundant codes.

Fuyun Liang 7b763f3f7e net: hns3: Clear TX/RX rings when stopping port & un-initializing client
When we down the port, some packets are left in TX/RX buffer. When we
up the port again, these old packets are forwarded to protocol stack
or are sent to internet. It will make some problem. TX/RX buffer should
be cleared when stopping port. This patch adds some function to ensure
the buffer is clean when port is started. We should clear the rings
when clients are being un-initialized as well.

Fuyun Liang 7d0b130cbb net: hns3: Fixes the init of the VALID BD info in the descriptor
RX Buffer Descriptor contains a VALID bit which indicates if the BD
is valid and has some data. This field is set by HNS3 hardware to
intimate the driver of some valid data present in the BD. nd should
be reset by the driver when BD is being used again. In the existing
code this bit was not being (re-)initialized properly and hence was
causing problems.

Peng Li 90b99b094b net: hns3: Fixes the state to indicate client-type initialization
HNAE3 module supports kernel nic driver, user nic driver and roce driver,
and there are 3 client types. Driver uses one bit(HNAE3_CLIENT_INITED_B)
to indicate the client initialization state, it will cause confusion
for 3 client types. This patch fixes it by use 3 bits to indicate the
initialization state.

Xi Wang 7c4bfcb055 net: hns3: Fix for PF mailbox receving unknown message
Before the firmware updates the crq's tail pointer, if the PF driver
reads the data in the crq, the data may be incomplete at this time,
which will lead to the driver read an unknown message.

This patch fixes it by checking if crq is not empty before reading the
message.

Peng Li 5b5455a9ed net: hns3: Add STRP_TAGP field support for hardware revision 0x21
Hardware Revision(0x21) Buffer Descriptor adds a field STRP_TAGP
for vlan stripped processed indication. STRP_TAGP field has 2 bits,
bit 0 is stripped indication of the vlan tag in outer vlan tag
field, bit 1 is stripped indication of the vlan tag in inner vlan
tag field. For each bit, 0 indicates the tag is not stripped and
1 indicates the tag is stripped.

This patch adds STRP_TAGP support for revision(0x21), and does not
change the revision(0x20) action.

Peng Li 846fcc8363 net: hns3: Updates RX packet info fetch in case of multi BD
In the latest revision of the hardware, if a packet is spanning
across multiple BDs then only VLD bit and current data size info
is valid in each BD, and rest of the information is only valid
in the last BD of the packet. In such case we should make sure
we are fetching RX packet size from the first descriptor and
information like VLAN should be fetched from last BD.

Bjørn Mork 102cd90963 qmi_wwan: apply SET_DTR quirk to the SIMCOM shared device ID
SIMCOM are reusing a single device ID for many (all of their?)
different modems, based on different chipsets and firmwares. Newer
Qualcomm chipset generations require setting DTR to wake the QMI
function.  The SIM7600E modem is using such a chipset, making it
fail to work with this driver despite the device ID match.

Fix by unconditionally enabling the SET_DTR quirk for all SIMCOM
modems using this specific device ID.  This is similar to what
we already have done for another case of device IDs recycled over
multiple chipset generations: 14cf4a771b ("drivers: net: usb:
qmi_wwan: add QMI_QUIRK_SET_DTR for Telit PID 0x1201")

Initial testing on an older SIM7100 modem shows no immediate side
effects.

Ard Biesheuvel 3125642695 net: netsec: reduce DMA mask to 40 bits
The netsec network controller IP can drive 64 address bits for DMA, and
the DMA mask is set accordingly in the driver. However, the SynQuacer
SoC, which is the only silicon incorporating this IP at the moment,
integrates this IP in a manner that leaves address bits [63:40]
unconnected.

Up until now, this has not resulted in any problems, given that the DDR
controller doesn't decode those bits to begin with. However, recent
firmware updates for platforms incorporating this SoC allow the IOMMU
to be enabled, which does decode address bits [47:40], and allocates
top down from the IOVA space, producing DMA addresses that have bits
set that have been left unconnected.

Both the DT and ACPI (IORT) descriptions of the platform take this into
account, and only describe a DMA address space of 40 bits (using either
dma-ranges DT properties, or DMA address limits in IORT named component
nodes). However, even though our IOMMU and bus layers may take such
limitations into account by setting a narrower DMA mask when creating
the platform device, the netsec probe() entrypoint follows the common
practice of setting the DMA mask uncondionally, according to the
capabilities of the IP block itself rather than to its integration into
the chip.

It is currently unclear what the correct fix is here. We could hack around
it by only setting the DMA mask if it deviates from its default value of
DMA_BIT_MASK(32). However, this makes it impossible for the bus layer to
use DMA_BIT_MASK(32) as the bus limit, and so it appears that a more
comprehensive approach is required to take DMA limits imposed by the
SoC as a whole into account.

In the mean time, let's limit the DMA mask to 40 bits. Given that there
is currently only one SoC that incorporates this IP, this is a reasonable
approach that can be backported to -stable and buys us some time to come
up with a proper fix going forward.

gianfar_ptp was the PTP clock driver for 1588 timer
module of Freescale QorIQ eTSEC (Enhanced Three-Speed
Ethernet Controllers) platforms. Actually QorIQ DPAA
(Data Path Acceleration Architecture) platforms is
also using the same 1588 timer module in hardware.

This patch is to rework gianfar_ptp as QorIQ common
PTP driver to support both DPAA and eTSEC. Moved
gianfar_ptp.c to drivers/ptp/, renamed it as
ptp_qoriq.c, and renamed many variables. There were
not any function changes.

Sridhar Samudrala ba5e4426e8 virtio_net: Extend virtio to use VF datapath when available
This patch enables virtio_net to switch over to a VF datapath when STANDBY
feature is enabled and a VF netdev is present with the same MAC address.
It allows live migration of a VM with a direct attached VF without the need
to setup a bond/team between a VF and virtio net device in the guest.

It uses the API that is exported by the net_failover driver to create and
and destroy a master failover netdev. When STANDBY feature is enabled, an
additional netdev(failover netdev) is created that acts as a master device
and tracks the state of the 2 lower netdevs. The original virtio_net netdev
is marked as 'standby' netdev and a passthru device with the same MAC is
registered as 'primary' netdev.

The hypervisor needs to unplug the VF device from the guest on the source
host and reset the MAC filter of the VF to initiate failover of datapath
to virtio before starting the migration. After the migration is completed,
the destination hypervisor sets the MAC filter on the VF and plugs it back
to the guest to switch over to VF datapath.

This patch is based on the discussion initiated by Jesse on this thread.

Sridhar Samudrala cfc80d9a11 net: Introduce net_failover driver
The net_failover driver provides an automated failover mechanism via APIs
to create and destroy a failover master netdev and manages a primary and
standby slave netdevs that get registered via the generic failover
infrastructure.

The failover netdev acts a master device and controls 2 slave devices. The
original paravirtual interface gets registered as 'standby' slave netdev and
a passthru/vf device with the same MAC gets registered as 'primary' slave
netdev. Both 'standby' and 'failover' netdevs are associated with the same
'pci' device. The user accesses the network interface via 'failover' netdev.
The 'failover' netdev chooses 'primary' netdev as default for transmits when
it is available with link up and running.

This can be used by paravirtual drivers to enable an alternate low latency
datapath. It also enables hypervisor controlled live migration of a VM with
direct attached VF by failing over to the paravirtual datapath when the VF
is unplugged.

SCTP sockets originated in a VRF can improve their performance if CRC32c
computation is delegated to underlying devices: update device features,
setting NETIF_F_SCTP_CRC. Iterating the following command in the topology
proposed with [1],

 # ip vrf exec vrf-h2 netperf -H 192.0.2.1 -t SCTP_STREAM -- -m 10K

the measured throughput in Mbit/s improved from 2395 ± 1% to 2720 ± 1%.

Sudarsana Reddy Kalluru 1b40428c04 bnx2x: Collect the device debug information during Tx timeout.
Tx-timeout mostly happens due to some issue in the device. In such cases,
debug dump would be helpful for identifying the cause of the issue.
This patch adds support to spill debug data during the Tx timeout. Here
bnx2x_panic_dump() API is used instead of bnx2x_panic(), since we still
want to allow the Tx-timeout recovery a chance to succeed.

Move all RQ, SQ and channel counters from the channel objects into the
priv structure.  With this change, counters will not be reset upon
channel configuration changes.

Channel's statistics for SQs which are associated with TCs higher than
zero will be presented in ethtool -S, only for SQs which were opened at
least once since the module was loaded (regardless of their open/close
current status).  This is done in order to decrease the total amount of
statistics presented and calculated for the common out of box use (no
QoS).

mlx5e_channel_stats is a compound of CH,RQ,SQs stats in order to
create locality for the NAPI when handling TX and RX of the same
channel.

Align the new statistics struct per ring to avoid several channels
update to the same cache line at the same time.
Packet rate was tested, no degradation sensed.

bandwidth, not the true available bandwidth of about 1969 MB/s for a
16 GT/s x1 link.

Use pcie_print_link_status() to report PCIe link speed and possible
limitations instead of implementing this in the driver itself.  This finds
the slowest link in the path to the device by computing the total bandwidth
of each link and compares that with the capabilities of the device.

The dmesg change is:

Tariq Toukan 3a2f703312 net/mlx5: Use order-0 allocations for all WQ types
Complete the transition of all WQ types to use fragmented
order-0 coherent memory instead of high-order allocations.

CQ-WQ already uses order-0.
Here we do the same for cyclic and linked-list WQs.

This allows the driver to load cleanly on systems with a highly
fragmented coherent memory.

Performance tests:
ConnectX-5 100Gbps, CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v3 @ 2.50GHz
Packet rate of 64B packets, single transmit ring, size 8K.

No degradation is sensed.

Tariq Toukan 043dc78ecf net/mlx5e: TX, Use actual WQE size for SQ edge fill
We fill SQ edge with NOPs to avoid WQEs wrap.
Here, instead of doing that in advance for the maximum possible
WQE size, we do it on-demand using the actual WQE size.
We re-order some parts in mlx5e_sq_xmit to finish the calculation
of WQE size (ds_cnt) before doing any writes to the WQE buffer.

When SQ work queue is fragmented (introduced in an downstream patch),
dealing with WQE wraps becomes more frequent. This change would drastically
reduce the overhead in this case.

Performance tests:
ConnectX-5 100Gbps, CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v3 @ 2.50GHz
Packet rate of 64B packets, single transmit ring, size 8K.

Before: 14.9 Mpps
After:  15.8 Mpps

Improvement of 6%.

If a TC rule needs to be split for mirroring, create two HW rules,
in the first level and the second level flow tables accordingly.

In the first level flow table, forward the packet to the mirror
port and forward the packet to the second level flow table for
further processing, eg. encap, vlan push or header re-write.

Currently the matching is repeated in both stages.

While here, simplify the setup of the vhca id valid indicator also
in the existing code.

Chris Mi 592d365159 net/mlx5e: Parse mirroring action for offloaded TC eswitch flows
Currently, we only support the mirred redirect TC sub-action. In order
to support flow based vport mirroring, add support to parse the mirred
mirror sub-action.

For mirroring, user-space will typically set the action order such that
the mirror port (mirror VF) sees packets as the original port (VF under
mirroring) sent them or as it will receive them.

In the general case, it means that packets are potentially sent to the
mirror port before or after some actions were applied on them. To
properly do that, we should follow on the exact action order as set for
the flow and make sure this will also be the case when we program the HW
offload.

We introduce a counter for the output ports (attr->out_count), which we
increase when parsing each mirred redirect/mirror sub-action and when
dealing with encap.

We introduce a counter (attr->mirror_count) telling us if split is
needed. If no split is needed and mirroring is just multicasting to
vport, the mirror count is zero, all the actions of the TC flow should
apply on that single HW flow.

If split is needed, the mirror count tells where to do the split, all
non-mirred tc actions should apply only after the split.

The mirror count is set while parsing the following actions encap/decap,
header re-write, vlan push/pop.

Chris Mi 52fff3274b net/mlx5: E-Switch, Reorganize and rename fdb flow tables
We have several fdb flow tables for each of the legacy and switchdev
modes. In the switchdev mode, there are fast path and slow path flow
tables. Towards adding more flow tables in upcoming patches, reorganize
and rename the various existing ones to reflect their functionality.

Thomas Falcon eb110410b9 ibmvnic: Fix partial success login retries
In its current state, the driver will handle backing device
login in a loop for a certain number of retries while the
device returns a partial success, indicating that the driver
may need to try again using a smaller number of resources.

The variable it checks to continue retrying may change
over the course of operations, resulting in reallocation
of resources but exits without sending the login attempt.
Guard against this by introducing a boolean variable that
will retain the state indicating that the driver needs to
reattempt login with backing device firmware.

Manish Chopra 39385ab02c qede: Support flow classification to the VFs.
With the supported classification modes [4 tuples based,
udp port based, src-ip based], flows can be classified
to the VFs as well. With this patch, flows can be re-directed
to the requested VF provided in "action" field of command.

Please note that driver doesn't really care about the queue bits
in "action" field for the VFs. Since queue will be still chosen
by FW using RSS hash. [I.e., the classification would be done
according to vport-only]

Manish Chopra 3893fc62b1 qed*: Support other classification modes.
Currently, driver supports flow classification to PF
receive queues based on TCP/UDP 4 tuples [src_ip, dst_ip,
src_port, dst_port] only.

This patch enables to configure different flow profiles
[For example - only UDP dest port or src_ip based] on the
adapter so that classification can be done according to
just those fields as well. Although, at a time just one
type of flow configuration is supported due to limited
number of flow profiles available on the device.

Arjun Vynipadath e2f4f4e927 cxgb4/cxgb4vf: Notify link changes to OS-dependent code
We have a confusion of two different abstractions in the Common
Code:  Physical Link (Port) and Logical Network Interface (Virtual
Interface), and we haven't been properly managing the state of the
intersection of those two abstractions.
On the one hand we have the Physical state of the Link -- up or down --
and on the other we have the logical state of the VI, enabled or not.
{ethN} refers to both the Physical and Logical State. In this case,
ifconfig only affects/interrogates the Logical State of a VI,
and ethtool only deals with the Physical State. And these are different.

So, just because we disable the VI, we don't really want to change the
Physical Link Up/Down state.  Thus, the previous hack to set
"lc->link_ok = 0" when we disable a VI is completely incorrect.

Where we get into trouble is where the Physical Link State and the
Logical VI State cross swords.  And that happens in
t4_handle_get_port_info() where we need to manage/safe the Physical
Link State, but we also need to know when the Logical VI State has
changed and pass that back up to the OS-dependent Driver routine
t4_os_link_changed() which is concerned about the Logical Interface.

So we enable a VI and that causes Firmware to send us a new Port
Information message, but if none of the Physical Link State
particulars have changed, we don't call t4_os_link_changed().

This fix uses the existing OS Contract APIs for the Common Code to
inform the OS-dependent portion of the Host Driver when the "Link" (really
Logical Network Interface) is "up" or "down". A new API
t4_enable_pi_params() is added which calls t4_enable_vi_params() and,
if that is successful, then calls back to the OS Contract API
t4_os_link_changed() notifying the OS-dependent layer of the
potential Link State change.

efx_enqueue_skb() can push new buffers for the xmit_more functionality.
We must stops the TX queue before this or else the TX queue does not get
restarted and we get a netdev watchdog.

In the error handling we may now need to unwind more than 1 packet, and
we may need to push the new buffers onto the partner queue.

Qing Huang 1383cb8103 mlx4_core: allocate ICM memory in page size chunks
When a system is under memory presure (high usage with fragments),
the original 256KB ICM chunk allocations will likely trigger kernel
memory management to enter slow path doing memory compact/migration
ops in order to complete high order memory allocations.

When that happens, user processes calling uverb APIs may get stuck
for more than 120s easily even though there are a lot of free pages
in smaller chunks available in the system.

With 4KB ICM chunk size on x86_64 arch, the above issue is fixed.

However in order to support smaller ICM chunk size, we need to fix
another issue in large size kcalloc allocations.

E.g.
Setting log_num_mtt=30 requires 1G mtt entries. With the 4KB ICM chunk
size, each ICM chunk can only hold 512 mtt entries (8 bytes for each mtt
entry). So we need a 16MB allocation for a table->icm pointer array to
hold 2M pointers which can easily cause kcalloc to fail.

The solution is to use kvzalloc to replace kcalloc which will fall back
to vmalloc automatically if kmalloc fails.

wireless LAN subsystem. In order for the user space to access the

Sriram R 6f6eb1bcbe ath10k: DFS Host Confirmation
In the 10.4-3.6 firmware branch there's a new DFS Host confirmation
feature which is advertised using WMI_SERVICE_HOST_DFS_CHECK_SUPPORT flag.

This new features enables the ath10k host to send information to the
firmware on the specifications of detected radar type. This allows the
firmware to validate if the host's radar pattern detector unit is
operational and check if the radar information shared by host matches
the radar pulses sent as phy error events from firmware. If the check
fails the firmware won't allow use of DFS channels on AP mode when using
FCC regulatory region.

Hence this patch is mandatory when using a firmware from 10.4-3.6 branch.
Else, DFS channels on FCC regions cannot be used.

Sriram R f40105e674 ath: add support to get the detected radar specifications
This enables ath10k/ath9k drivers to collect the specifications of the
radar type once it is detected by the dfs pattern detector unit.
Usage of the collected info is specific to driver implementation.
For example, collected radar info could be used by the host driver
to send to co-processors for additional processing/validation.

Note: 'radar_detector_specs' data containing the specifications of
different radar types which was private within dfs_pattern_detector/
dfs_pri_detector is now shared with drivers as well for making use
of this information.

In reap_tx_dxes(), when we iterate over the linked descriptors, only

Daniel Mack ce1d4be82b wcn36xx: only handle packets when ED or DONE bit is set
On RX and TX interrupts, check for the WCN36XX_CH_STAT_INT_ED_MASK or
WCN36XX_CH_STAT_INT_DONE_MASK in the interrupt reason register, and
only handle packets when it is set. This way, reap_tx_dxes() is only
invoked when needed.

This brings the dequeing logic in line with what the prima downstream
driver is doing.

While at it, also log the interrupt reason.

Daniel Mack edd23ab403 wcn36xx: clear all masks in RX interrupt
Like on the TX side, check for the interrupt reason when the RX interrupt
is latched and clear the ERR, DONE and ED masks.

This seems to help with connection timeouts and network stream
starvatations. And FWIW, the downstream driver does the same thing.

Note that in analogy to the TX side, WCN36XX_DXE_0_INT_CLR should be set to
WCN36XX_INT_MASK_CHAN_RX_{L,H} rather than WCN36XX_DXE_INT_CH{1,3}_MASK. It
did the right thing however, as the defines happen to have identical values.

Also, instead of determining register addresses and values inside
wcn36xx_rx_handle_packets(), pass them as arguments.

Daniel Mack 9a81cc23df wcn36xx: fix buffer commit logic on TX path
When wcn36xx_dxe_tx_frame() is entered while the device is still processing
the queue asyncronously, we are racing against the firmware code with
updates to the buffer descriptors. Presumably, the firmware scans the ring
buffer that holds the descriptors and scans for a valid control descriptor,
and then assumes that the next descriptor contains the payload. If, however,
the control descriptor is marked valid, but the payload descriptor isn't,
the packet is not sent out.

Another issue with the current code is that is lacks memory barriers before
descriptors are marked valid. This is important because the CPU may reorder
writes to memory, even if it is allocated as coherent DMA area, and hence
the device may see incompletely written data.

To fix this, the code in wcn36xx_dxe_tx_frame() was restructured a bit so
that the payload descriptor is made valid before the control descriptor.
Memory barriers are added to ensure coherency of shared memory areas.

Pradeep Kumar Chitrapu be8cce96f1 ath10k: add support to configure channel dwell time
Configure channel dwell time from duration of the scan request
received from mac80211 when the duration is non-zero. When the
scan request does not have duration value, use the default ones,
the current implementation.

John Hurley 7e24a59311 nfp: flower: compute link aggregation action
If the egress device of an offloaded rule is a LAG port, then encode the
output port to the NFP with a LAG identifier and the offloaded group ID.

A prelag action is also offloaded which must be the first action of the
series (although may appear after other pre-actions - e.g. tunnels). This
causes the FW to check that it has the necessary information to output to
the requested LAG port. If it does not, the packet is sent to the kernel
before any other actions are applied to it.

with that of the kernel. Such messages are sent from fw to driver and
feature the following 3 flags:

- Data: an attached cmsg could not be processed - store for retransmission
- Xon: FW can accept new messages - retransmit any stored cmsgs
- Sync: full sync requested so retransmit all kernel LAG group info

John Hurley bb9a8d0311 nfp: flower: monitor and offload LAG groups
Monitor LAG events via the NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER/NETDEV_CHANGELOWERSTATE
notifiers to maintain a list of offloadable groups. Sync these groups with
HW via a delayed workqueue to prevent excessive re-configuration. When the
workqueue is triggered it may generate multiple control messages for
different groups. These messages are linked via a batch ID and flags to
indicate a new batch and the end of a batch.

Update private data in each repr to track their LAG lower state flags. The
state of a repr is used to determine the active netdevs that can be
offloaded. For example, in active-backup mode, we only offload the netdev
currently active.

Check if the fw contains the _abi_flower_balance_sync_enable symbol. If it
does then write a 1 to this indicating that the driver is willing to
receive NIC to kernel LAG related control messages.

Stephen Hemminger d97cde6ab5 hv_netvsc: fix bogus ifalias on network device
If the guest network adapter is not configured with DeviceNaming
enabled on the host, then the query for friendly name will return
success but with a zero length name. Which then leads to a garbage value
(stack contents) for ifalias.

Fix is simple, just don't set name if  host doesn't return it.

Eric Biggers af8d3c7c00 ppp: remove the PPPIOCDETACH ioctl
The PPPIOCDETACH ioctl effectively tries to "close" the given ppp file
before f_count has reached 0, which is fundamentally a bad idea.  It
does check 'f_count < 2', which excludes concurrent operations on the
file since they would only be possible with a shared fd table, in which
case each fdget() would take a file reference.  However, it fails to
account for the fact that even with 'f_count == 1' the file can still be
linked into epoll instances.  As reported by syzbot, this can trivially
be used to cause a use-after-free.

Yet, the only known user of PPPIOCDETACH is pppd versions older than
ppp-2.4.2, which was released almost 15 years ago (November 2003).
Also, PPPIOCDETACH apparently stopped working reliably at around the
same time, when the f_count check was added to the kernel, e.g. see
https://lkml.org/lkml/2002/12/31/83.  Also, the current 'f_count < 2'
check makes PPPIOCDETACH only work in single-threaded applications; it
always fails if called from a multithreaded application.

All pppd versions released in the last 15 years just close() the file
descriptor instead.

Therefore, instead of hacking around this bug by exporting epoll
internals to modules, and probably missing other related bugs, just
remove the PPPIOCDETACH ioctl and see if anyone actually notices.  Leave
a stub in place that prints a one-time warning and returns EINVAL.

Thomas Falcon 2770a7984d ibmvnic: Introduce hard reset recovery
Introduce a recovery hard reset to handle reset failure as a result of
change of device context following a transport event, such as a
backing device failover or partition migration. These operations reset
the device context to its initial state. If this occurs during a reset,
any initialization commands are likely to fail with an invalid state
error as backing device firmware requests reinitialization.

When this happens, make one more attempt by performing a hard reset,
which frees any resources currently allocated and performs device
initialization. If a transport event occurs during a device reset, a
flag is set which will trigger a new hard reset following the
completionof the current reset event.

Thomas Falcon 5153698e55 ibmvnic: Introduce active CRQ state
Introduce an "active" state for a IBM vNIC Command-Response Queue. A CRQ
is considered active once it has initialized or linked with its partner by
sending an initialization request and getting a successful response back
from the management partition.  Until this has happened, do not allow CRQ
commands to be sent other than the initialization request.

This change will avoid a protocol error in case of a device transport
event occurring during a initialization. When the driver receives a
transport event notification indicating that the backing hardware
has changed and needs reinitialization, any further commands other
than the initialization handshake with the VIOS management partition
will result in an invalid state error. Instead of sending a command
that will be returned with an error, print a warning and return an
error that will be handled by the caller.

Jesper Dangaard Brouer 735fc4054b xdp: change ndo_xdp_xmit API to support bulking
This patch change the API for ndo_xdp_xmit to support bulking
xdp_frames.

When kernel is compiled with CONFIG_RETPOLINE, XDP sees a huge slowdown.
Most of the slowdown is caused by DMA API indirect function calls, but
also the net_device->ndo_xdp_xmit() call.

Benchmarked patch with CONFIG_RETPOLINE, using xdp_redirect_map with
single flow/core test (CPU E5-1650 v4 @ 3.60GHz), showed
performance improved:
 for driver ixgbe: 6,042,682 pps -> 6,853,768 pps = +811,086 pps
 for driver i40e : 6,187,169 pps -> 6,724,519 pps = +537,350 pps

With frames avail as a bulk inside the driver ndo_xdp_xmit call,
further optimizations are possible, like bulk DMA-mapping for TX.

Testing without CONFIG_RETPOLINE show the same performance for
physical NIC drivers.

The virtual NIC driver tun sees a huge performance boost, as it can
avoid doing per frame producer locking, but instead amortize the
locking cost over the bulk.

Sandbox QP Commands are retired in the order they are sent. Outstanding
commands are stored in a linked-list in the order they appear. Once a
response is received and the callback gets called, we pull the first
element off the pending list, assuming they correspond.

Sending a message and adding it to the pending list is not done atomically,
hence there is an opportunity for a race between concurrent requests.

Bind both send and add under a critical section.

Eran Ben Elisha 902a545904 net/mlx5e: When RXFCS is set, add FCS data into checksum calculation
When RXFCS feature is enabled, the HW do not strip the FCS data,
however it is not present in the checksum calculated by the HW.

Fix that by manually calculating the FCS checksum and adding it to the SKB
checksum field.

Add helper function to find the FCS data for all SKB forms (linear,
one fragment or more).

Huy Nguyen ecdf2dadee net/mlx5e: Receive buffer support for DCBX
Add dcbnl's set/get buffer configuration callback that allows user to
set/get buffer size configuration and priority to buffer mapping.

By default, firmware controls receive buffer configuration and priority
of buffer mapping based on the changes in pfc settings. When set buffer
call back is triggered, the buffer configuration changes to manual mode.

The manual mode means mlx5 driver will adjust the buffer configuration
accordingly based on the changes in pfc settings.

ConnectX buffer stride is 128 Bytes. If the buffer size is not multiple
of 128, the buffer size will be rounded down to the nearest multiple of
128.

After changing speed to 100Mbps as a result of auto-negotiation (AN),
some 10/100/1000Mbps SFPs indicate a successful link (no faults or loss
of signal), but cannot successfully transmit or receive data.  These
SFPs required an extra auto-negotiation (AN) after the speed change in
order to operate properly.  Add a quirk for these SFPs so that if the
outcome of the AN actually results in changing to a new speed, re-initiate
AN at that new speed.

The driver currently sets an indication of whether the SFP supports, and
that the driver can obtain, diagnostics data.  This isn't currently used

Florian Fainelli 79fb218d97 net: phy: broadcom: Fix bcm_write_exp()
On newer PHYs, we need to select the expansion register to write with
setting bits [11:8] to 0xf. This was done correctly by bcm7xxx.c prior
to being migrated to generic code under bcm-phy-lib.c which
unfortunately used the older implementation from the BCM54xx days.

Fix this by creating an inline stub: bcm_write_exp_sel() which adds the
correct value (MII_BCM54XX_EXP_SEL_ER) and update both the Cygnus PHY
and BCM7xxx PHY drivers which require setting these bits.

broadcom.c is unchanged because some PHYs even use a different selector
method, so let them specify it directly (e.g: SerDes secondary selector).

register value 0b111 (0x7) which incidentally is also the selector value
that should be present in bits [2:0]. Fix this by using the appropriate
selector mask which is defined (MII_BCM54XX_AUXCTL_SHDWSEL_MASK).

This does not have a functional impact yet because we always access the
MII_BCM54XX_AUXCTL_SHDWSEL_MISC (0x7) register in the current code.
This might change at some point though.

Nathan Fontenot 73f9d36440 ibmvnic: Only do H_EOI for mobility events
When enabling the sub-CRQ IRQ a previous update sent a H_EOI prior
to the enablement to clear any pending interrupts that may be present
across a partition migration. This fixed a firmware bug where a
migration could erroneously indicate that a H_EOI was pending.

The H_EOI should only be sent when enabling during a mobility
event though. Doing so at other time could wrong and can produce
extra driver output when IRQs are enabled when doing TX completion.

Until the udp receive stack supports large packets (UDP GRO), GSO
packets must not loop from the egress to the ingress path.

Revert the change that added NETIF_F_GSO_UDP_L4 to various virtual
devices through NETIF_F_GSO_ENCAP_ALL as this included devices that
may loop packets, such as veth and macvlan.

Instead add it to specific devices that forward to another device's
egress path, bonding and team.

Jason Wang 2f3ab6221e tuntap: correctly set SOCKWQ_ASYNC_NOSPACE
When link is down, writes to the device might fail with
-EIO. Userspace needs an indication when the status is resolved.  As a
fix, tun_net_open() attempts to wake up writers - but that is only
effective if SOCKWQ_ASYNC_NOSPACE has been set in the past. This is
not the case of vhost_net which only poll for EPOLLOUT after it meets
errors during sendmsg().

This patch fixes this by making sure SOCKWQ_ASYNC_NOSPACE is set when

When NFP is modelled as a switch we assign phys_port_name to respective
port(representor )s:

 vNIC0 - | - PF port (pf%d)     MAC/PHY (p%d[s%d]) - |E==

In most cases there is only one vNIC for communication with the switch.
If there is more than one we need to be able to identify them.  Use %d
as phys_port_name of the vNICs.

We don't have to pass ID to nfp_net_debugfs_vnic_add() separately any
more.

Jakub Kicinski 290f54db31 nfp: use split in naming of PCIe PF ports
PCI PFs can host more than one logical endpoint.  In NFP terms
this means having more than one vNIC for PCIe PF.  The vNICs
are usually corresponding 1:1 to Ethernet ports.  In core NIC
we use the legacy idea of vNIC *being* the Ethernet port,
hence netdevs put pX(sY) in their phys_port_name, like Ethernet
ports would.  When ASIC ports are fully represented we need to
be able to name different PCIe PF ports, too.  Use a scheme
similar to Ethernet ports - pfXsY, for PCIe PF number X,
sub-port Y.

Current control firmware does not cater too well to multi-host
applications.  There is no way to check which hosts are up or
otherwise negotiate what the state of the external port (the

Current code doesn't enforce length requirements on 32bit accesses
with action NFP_CPP_ACTION_RW to memory units, but if the access
is only aligned to 4 bytes as well we will fall into the explicit
access case and error out.  Such accesses are correct, allow them
by lowering the width earlier.

Ilan Peer d4e36e5554 mac80211: Support adding duration for prepare_tx() callback
There are specific cases, such as SAE authentication exchange, that
might require long duration to complete. For such cases, add support
for indicating to the driver the required duration of the prepare_tx()
operation, so the driver would still be able to complete the frame
exchange.

Currently, indicate the duration only for SAE authentication exchange,
as SAE authentication can take up to 2000 msec (as defined in IEEE
P802.11-REVmd D1.0 p. 3504).

As the patch modified the prepare_tx() callback API, also modify
the relevant code in iwlwifi.

This allows reading all capabilities as reported by a firmware. They are
printed using native (raw) names, just like developers like it the most.
It's how firmware reports support for various features, e.g. supported
modes, supported standards, power saving details, max BSS-es.

them and debugging features AKA bugs.

Sudarsana Reddy Kalluru 2528c38993 qed: Add support for tlv request processing.
The patch adds driver support for processing TLV requests/repsonses
from the mfw and upper driver layers respectively. The implementation
reads the requested TLVs from the shared memory, requests the values
from upper layer drivers, populates this info (TLVs) shared memory and
notifies MFW about the TLV values.

Jake provides all the changes in this series starting with making it
consistent in how we approach the bit lock.  Fixed the reporting of the
VEB statistics and the queue statistics to always return every queue
even if it is not currently in use.  Use WARN_ONCE() so that the first
time we end up with an incorrect size we will dump a stack trace and a
message to help highlight the issue early in testing.  Folded the fixed
string prefix into the stat string definition.  Instead of using a
separate char *p pointer when copying strings, use the data pointer
directly.  Added code comments for several of the statistic functions to
better explain the number and ordering of statistics.

Shahed Shaikh fdd13dd350 qed: Fix mask for physical address in ILT entry
ILT entry requires 12 bit right shifted physical address.
Existing mask for ILT entry of physical address i.e.
ILT_ENTRY_PHY_ADDR_MASK is not sufficient to handle 64bit
address because upper 8 bits of 64 bit address were getting
masked which resulted in completer abort error on
PCIe bus due to invalid address.

Fix that mask to handle 64bit physical address.
