Jehan f50976d81b libgimpwidgets: new gimp_color_area_enable_drag() API.
This would allow to enable, configure or disable drag ability of a
GimpColorArea ater its creation.

I tested that it works correctly in binding. For instance in Python:

> area.enable_drag(0)
> area.enable_drag(Gdk.ModifierType.BUTTON1_MASK |
> Gdk.ModifierType.BUTTON2_MASK)

… correctly disable then reanable the drag with buttons 1 and 2 (in
particular, I wanted to verify there was any reason why the property was
G_PARAM_CONSTRUCT_ONLY. Turns out there was no good reason).

I was interested by such API because having long list of parameters in
various APIs is very annoying. It is much nicer to have simple
constructors with decent defaults and proper API to modify a widget
afterwards in order to cater to special needs.

Jehan 6b5037f039 libgimpwidgets, themes: more compact GimpSpinScale.
There were some complaint about the height of these scale.
The min-height was clearly too high. I also made the buttons a bit more
compact by removing a bit of padding.

Finally I add a CSS name to the class, in order to avoid using the
parent class name ("spinbutton"). This makes for clearer and more
customizable themes (ability to style the GimpSpinScale without styling
GtkSpinButton too).

Jehan c93742f178 libgimpwidgets: improving (kinda) GimpSpinScale in RTL layout.
The label was simply completely invisible because of broken progress
computation. Now it is visible at least when the progress fully cover
the label, but a part of the label is not drawn when the progression is
smaller than the label. I still have not figured out how to fix this,
though I am starting to wonder if we should not just drop this 2-color
fancy drawing of the label. Clearly the fact we can't get the exact
progression gadget dimension is biting us.

Another issue I noticed when playing with RTL layout is that when
editing the value, it gets printed on the right side (together with the
label) which gets messy. This is also something to figure out, hoping we
get an API for this on the GTK side.

Also I am setting "auto dir" to FALSE on the Pango layout, making sure
it follows the widget direction, whatsoever. In particular, even if the
contents is not RTL characters, we should keep a RTL layout to avoid
completely broken layout.

Jehan dfd05c0717 libgimpwidgets: improve a bit the position of progress and normal text.
The logics to get the progress position is not proper because the text
area (as returned by gtk_entry_get_text_area()) is actually slightly
smaller than the progress area. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there
is an API to get the exact progress area. This commit improves a bit the
situation by starting the progress rectangle when excluding the
intersection of 2 rectangles in pango at the start of the text area (not
at 0).

It's still not perfect as the progress width will be anyway a bit too
small and we don't have the data to compute it properly, but it's better
than it used to be. I also set several variables to double instead of
int to be more accurate, though this part doesn't help much.

Finally I used the ink extents rather than the logical extents. Since we
are here to draw, this is the ink extents which is really needed.

Note: for the bug to be visible, you need to have a different text color
for the progress and non-progress part of the scale.

Also I'm unsure about the right-to-left logics which seems very broken.

widget.

Jehan 86dfad30dd libgimpwidgets: GimpCellRendererToggle fallback to "image-missing"…
… when appropriate icon failed to be found.

gtk_icon_theme_lookup_icon_for_scale() apparently does all standard
fallbacks, but not the last "image-missing" one which is supposed to
always be present. To avoid crashing, let's add an explicit fallback
ourselves.

We also encountered this on the test-ui unit test because icons are not
installed (but this could happen anyway when running GIMP normally with
third-party icon themes).

Jehan 4b681eb448 app, libgimpwidgets: new gimp_event_triggers_context_menu() and use it…
… for the container tree view contextual menu.

A very annoying point of contextual menus is that they happen on button
press whereas menu item selection happens on button release. When the
menu corner is positionned on the click position, nothing bad happens;
yet when place is missing on screen, the menu might get positionned over
the pointer position. And worse, the mouse position might be just over
an activatable menu item. So we end up in this weird situation where a
click implies: press, menu opens, release, random item (whatever is
below the pointer) is selected and menu closes.

To get rid of this weird case, let's have our contextual menu happen on
button release. In reality, I don't think anyone cares that it happens
on press or release, you just "click". But what you certainly don't want
is to click random menu items!

Aryeom Han 09654a421f icons: new lock icons.
To better explain the lock icons, have specific icons instead of reusing

over the other icons, but we only got ugly render. Better have
custom-made icons.

The gimp-lock icon is the Adwaita system-lock-screen icon, by Jakub
Steiner, simply renamed. Therefore its license is GNU LGPL v3 or

The other icons are derived from a mix of this same icon and other icons
in our existing set and have the same license too.

Niels De Graef e82f6d5b0f libgimpwidgets: Use Screenshot portal for picking
Freedesktop (XDG) portals are a collection of D-Bus APIs that work
across desktop environments, display servers and work within
containerized applications, like Flatpak. The internal implementation
can then choose to implement these in such a way that takes into account
security considerations, as well as making sure the user consents to
certain actions.

One such portal is the `Screenshot` portal, which contains a
`Screenshot()` method as well as `PickColor()`. We already use the
former for taking a screenshot, and this commit makes sure our color
picker also makes use of the latter.

By doing this, color picking is now possible on the major Wayland
compositors.

(Honestly, we should remove DE-specific backends like that of KWin, to
have less variation on the possible results of a color picking
operation).

Commit 8025962a20 was meant to make the icon code work on relocatable

Jehan 8025962a20 libgimpwidgets: fix meson/mingw-w64 build and relocatable builds.
While passing the DATADIR macro works fine natively on Linux, it somehow
failed with the mingw-w64 build with a very weird error:

> <command-line>: error: expected identifier or '(' before string constant

I could not understand what it means, as the '-DDATADIR="/some/path"'
syntax is completely fine as far as I can see.
Anyway since I see that DATAROOTDIR is already defined in meson config.h
(but not in the autotools build, just the meson one!), and using
datarootdir instead of datadir seems to be just fine (actually maybe
even more appropriate when it comes to looking up the hicolor
application icons), I just switched to using it.

In the same time, I realized that my code using build-time macros won't
work for relocatable builds anyway. So this commit also adds a bit of
code path variant using gimp_installation_directory() in the case of
ENABLE_RELOCATABLE_RESOURCES code path.

Jehan 3598562472 app, libgimpwidgets: drop the thumbnail icon feature.
From years of discussions, it turns out that:
- The thumbnailed-Wilber icon replacing the generic icon of GIMP often
makes the application harder to spot in the icon list of running
  processes.
- In single-window mode in particular, it makes even less sense as we
just show the one active image anyway.
- Even in multi-window mode, nowadays many OSes or desktop group windows
of a same application under one icon. So we end up with several image
windows under a thumbnail only showing the top image. This happens in
KDE, GNOME, Cinnamon and Windows at least apparently (as far as is
  being reported).
- Some platforms would just use only the OS-declared icon and not care
about runtime-declared ones. This is apparently the case on macOS, and
also on GNOME when the desktop file is seen by the desktop
environment. So all our code about generating thumbnailed icon is
  wasted on these platform anyway.
- When intensively testing the current behavior, I had cases when the
icon was not properly updated. We could of course investigate and fix
the issues, but considering all the previous points, it might make
more sense to simply drop the feature which is mostly useless, or
worse bothersome, hence simplify the code greatly.
- Finally API to set icons from GdkPixbuf data has been removed in GTK4.
So long term, trying to keep this whole machinery feels like just
making our life difficult for a feature which all OSes seem to
deprecate and which might not be possible anymore soon (or just get
  harder and harder to implement).

Note that I don't use gtk_window_set_default_icon_name() because it
would use the icon from our theme, yet so far we are not sure it makes
sense for the application icon which we probably always want to be the
same, whatever the chosen theme. Finally I just list various common icon
sizes because GTK API doesn't seem to be clever enough yet. I can't just
give it 1 SVG image (e.g. with gtk_window_set_default_icon_from_file())
and hope it does the resizing at the last minute. It turns out it
doesn't and we get an extra-small icon. So instead, let's generate
common sizes ourselves from the same SVG.

Niels De Graef df28349c17 GIR: Try to return more specific GtkWidget subclass
In GTK, a common scheme is to let a function creating a specific widget
to return a `GtkWidget *`, rather than the specific subtype, since you
often need to call API of GtkWidget, avoiding some useless casts.

For bindings however (and especially bindings to compiled languages),
this is a bit annoying, as you have to explicitly change the type of the
return value (downcast), which is not trivial (or at least desirable) in
each language.

Luckily, we can use `(type ...)` annotation for this use case, leaving
the C API unchanged, while improving the experience for bindings.

Jehan 2ea5dec56e libgimpwidgets: improved gimp_prop_scale_entry_new(), new function…
… gimp_label_spin_set_digits() and deleted gimp_prop_opacity_entry_new()

- The "digits" argument for the number of decimal places in
gimp_prop_scale_entry_new() is now mostly useless since GimpLabelSpin
(hence GimpScaleEntry too) got a nice estimation algorithm of sensible
  values.
- Add gimp_label_spin_set_digits() function to manually set the digits
property when we don't like the estimated value.
- Also add a new "factor" argument to gimp_prop_scale_entry_new(). Its
role is to allow a GimpScaleEntry showing a factored range, typically
  a [0, 100] range for some types of [0, 1] properties.
- Remove gimp_prop_opacity_entry_new() which was basically a
special-case of gimp_prop_scale_entry_new() and which can now be
easily reproduced by simply set factor=100.0.
- Update all usage of gimp_prop_scale_entry_new() in app/ and plug-ins/
with updated arguments. It is interesting to note that all existing
usage were either integers (digits=1) or when double, the estimated
decimal places are the same as the ones which were manually set (hence
showing the generic estimation is not too bad). So the new function
gimp_label_spin_set_digits() was not even needed once in current code.

Similar code was used in 2 places basically (GimpLabelSpin and
GimpProcedureDialog) so just make it an utils function. It's good anyway
to have a generic function to estimate suitable increments and decimal
places depending on a range.

As a consequence also gimp_label_spin_new() now takes a gint digits
(instead of guint), with -1 meaning we want digits computed from the
range.
Similarly gimp_prop_scale_entry_new() docs adds the -1 meaning too.

Jehan e85dd77ad1 libgimpwidgets: fix GimpChainButton init().
So the minor fix on commit 3e35fe4d80 was not so minor after all, and I
should have looked more in details into its contents.

GET_PRIVATE() macro uses the `priv` pointer value hence had to be called
after gimp_chain_button_get_instance_private(). Thus the order was
important; the initialization and assignment values were actually
different. Simply let's get rid of the previous initialization of
`private` (make it declaration-only) to avoid cppcheck to (wrongfully)
complain about double variable assignment to the same value.

There is currently no property widget which just creates a
GimpSpinButton with a label. Just as the GimpScaleEntry was needed, this
one is as well.
I am creating a GimpLabeled abstract class which will represent various
widgets with a label. While this may seem a bit over-engineered for such
a basic feature, this will actually bring some consistency and a common
parent. In particular this can be used to get the GtkLabel with a common
interface to add them all in a common GtkSizeGroup when generating
dialogs automatically, hence make dialogs with properly aligned labels
and edition widgets.

Jehan 0d98969a47 libgimpwidgets, plug-ins: rename gimp_scale_entry_set_range() to…
… gimp_scale_entry_set_bounds().
I realized that this function may look like the set() opposite for
gimp_scale_entry_get_range(), which it is not at all. The get_range() is
for getting back the GtkRange widget packed in the GimpScaleEntry,
whereas the set_range() is to change the minimum and maximum allowed
values.

I had recently renamed the former, and could just rename it back into
gimp_scale_entry_get_scale() as it was, but since the class we rely on
is actually called GtkRange (GtkScale is a subclass), I think it could
be misleading. So in the end, let's rather rename the function setting
the widget minimum and maximum as gimp_scale_entry_set_bounds() instead.
Hopefully this is even more understandable. Naming is hard!

Former gimp_color_scale_entry_new() is finally replaced by the

Both places which used it (GimpColorScales and compose plug-in) now use
the new widget.

Also making "upper" and "lower" properties of GimpScaleEntry into
construction properties, and create the main GtkAjustment at init, so
that we are sure that lower and upper bounds are properly set before we
set the value (when setting all properties at once, we cannot ensure
that these limit properties are set before the "value" one).

Jehan 1cdfb0bd3f libgimpwidgets: use G_DECLARE_* macros on Gimp*ScaleEntry classes.
I updated GimpScaleEntry and GimpColorScaleEntry header to use
respectively the macros G_DECLARE_DERIVABLE_TYPE and
G_DECLARE_FINAL_TYPE.

Though having the `priv` structure directly in the object data is
extremely comfortable for developing (hence we don't want to use this
macro on core code as it makes coding a bit more bothersome), it is true
that it does not make for a very pretty public interface (showing a
`priv` member which nobody can actually use, and a private type which
has no associated functions). So it might be a good idea to use these
macros at least on libgimp side.

I am still not sure though if it is a good idea so we could say it's an
experiment. At least the docs says that using G_DECLARE_FINAL_TYPE does
not affect ABI stability as it can later be changed into a
G_DECLARE_DERIVABLE_TYPE because the class structure stays private. So
at least that's one good point.

P.S.: also reordering gimpwidgets.def.

Jehan f27d172750 libgimpwidgets: new GimpColorScaleEntry class.
Similarly to GimpScaleEntry, this is meant to replace usage of
gimp_color_scale_entry_new() by having a proper widget. This is a child
class of GimpScaleEntry which simply replaces the GtkScale by a
GimpColorScale by adding a GimpScaleEntry class method to create the
scale widget (only restriction: it must be a GtkRange subtype).

This also triggers me to rename gimp_scale_entry_get_scale() into
gimp_scale_entry_get_range() (as well as the 2 plug-ins already using
this function).

Jehan ad8b417871 libgimpwidgets: better algorithm for GimpScaleEntry default increments.
For very small ranges, just dividing by 10 and 100 is not very good. You
could end up with weird step values. It is often better to use 10^(-x)
values just below your range.
I.e for a 0.5 range, a step of 0.1 and page of 0.01 are probably fine
(better than 0.05 and 0.005).

Of course as usual these are default values only and setting custom
increments is possible through available API.

Jehan 0f05825a29 app, libgimpwidgets, plug-ins: default increments for GimpScaleEntry.
Instead of setting always manually the step and page increments when
creating a GimpScaleEntry, let's just generate some common cases
automatically. Indeed the increments are rarely something you want to
care about. The algorithm used is:
- For a range under 1.0, use a hundredth and a tenth (typically a [0,
  1.0] range will step-increment of 0.01 and page-increment of 0.1).
- For small ranges (under 40), step-increment by 1, page-increment by 2.
- For bigger ranges, step-increment by 1, page-increment by 10.

For use cases when you absolutely want specific increment values, I add
the gimp_scale_entry_set_increments() function. It is much better to
have a small and understandable constructor call followed by
configuration calls (only when needed) rather than a constructor with a
crazy amount of parameters. Hence gimp_scale_entry_new() went from 17
arguments (absolutely unreadable calls) to now 5.

* Internally edit the GtkSpinButton width depending on min/max values,
place digits, and possible value sign.
* Emit a "value-changed" signal (similarly to other widgets with a
value), for cases when just binding the "value" property is not
  enough.
* Finally use the new API in palette-import-dialog.

Jehan 5238958e55 libgimpwidgets: make GimpScaleEntry into its own widget.
Instead of the gimp_scale_entry_new() which creates several bound yet
independant widgets, and in the same time pack them into an existing
grid and return a GtkAdjustment (while heavily relying on GObject data
to link widgets), let's have a proper custom widget with its own clean
API.
This also simplifies the gimp_prop_scale_entry_new() property widget
variant.

First advantage is that we don't force the usage of a grid to use this
widget (there are a few pieces of code which create a GtkGrid with only
this inside just to be able to use this feature).

Second thing is that I am creating a much simpler API.
gimp_scale_entry_new() had 17 parameters! How crazy is that? So I
removed all the grid packing related parameters. Also I moved the spin
button/scale unconstraining parameters into their separate function,
because the constrained behavior is the most common use case, so it's
stupid to add 3 permanent dummy parameters for most calls. Instead the
few times where we'll want different ranges for the spin button and the
scale, we'll call the separate API gimp_scale_entry_set_range().

Thirdly the tooltip can be set directly with gimp_help_set_help_data()
since this is now its own widget. No need to have dedicated logics
anymore, better stay generic. Similarly no need of a custom function to
switch sensitivitivy (instead of generic gtk_widget_set_sensitive()).

Fourth thing is that we should not use macros for the public API, but
proper functions, because macros are not properly introspected for
binding.

For future improvements, maybe we could even make this widget implement
GtkOrientable interface, in order to be able to use it vertically.

Note: right now, I created a separate gimp_scale_entry_new2() and only
modified the property widget API to use this new code. Eventually I will
remove fully the old gimp_scale_entry_new() function (and the new code
will replace it).

Jehan 82ee478920 libgimpwidgets: store GimpFileEntry private data in appropriate struct.
There was a /* FIXME MOVE TO PRIVATE */ and anyway it makes sense to not
leave such data in the public API.

I note that the whole widget declaration is between #ifndef
GIMP_DISABLE_DEPRECATED macros so maybe we should just delete it
altogether for GIMP 3, but it might still have a usage. Maybe it could
also be interesting to experiment with the file portal on such widget
for plug-in usage? Let's see.

… GimpIntComboBox "value" property.
For this, I connect to the "changed" signal, which is equivalent anyway.
Otherwise the link was not bidirectionnal, so selecting a new item in
the combo list was not actually changing the internal value, hence the
binding set by gimp_prop_int_combo_box_new() was not complete either.
Not sure how I missed that. Hopefully not missing anything else!

Jehan db71a8ffc7 libgimpwidgets: add a "value" property to GimpIntComboBox…
… and have gimp_prop_int_combo_box_new() bind to "value" instead of
"active".

The "active" property is defined by GtkComboBox and is the index of the
combo box, not its values, whereas with gimp_prop_int_combo_box_new(),
we want to bind an int property to the combobox value. Therefore the
commit 0828a371c2 was only properly working when we were creating a
combo box with values starting at 0 and incremented by 1.

By adding a "value" property to GimpIntComboBox, I allow binding any
property to the int value rather than the index.

Jehan d886bb1b90 libgimpwidgets: improve/fix more of GimpMemSizeEntry.
Looking further at this widget, many things are not right. Here are the
changes:
- Use binary prefixes (i.e. kibibyte, mebibyte and gibibyte) instead of
decimal ones. We are making binary shifts so we were actually showing
  the wrong units.
- Round the value to the closest integer when showing it, not towards 0.
Otherwise I had cases where it was showing 7GiB for an actual value of
7.69GiB (default as computed by GIMP from my actual physical memory).
Note that I am actually unsure even rounding makes sense. Shouldn't we
rather show double values with a few digits after the decimal points?
For such values, I think it would make sense.
- Do not edit the internally saved accurate value when the entry is
edited to the same less accurate value as our saved value would be
shown too. In particular when changing the display unit to a bigger
one, we don't want to lose accuracy. This is especially true for low
values. Say you don't have a lot of memory and you set the Tile cache
size to 1.5GiB (1536MiB), you certainly don't want it to become either
1 or 2GiB when switching display unit to GiB. Now even if the number
will still display with less accuracy, the internal value will stay
  accurate.

Jehan 0be4e5c1dc libgimpwidgets: fix setting GimpMemSizeEntry value with unit change.
This bug doesn't happen when setting value through the GUI as in such
case, the unit never changed. It happened when setting a value which
could not be properly displayed by current unit (typically smaller than
1 in this unit, or with remainder).
In such a case, we should not manually set private->shift before
gimp_int_combo_box_set_active(), or the callback was failing to
reconfigure the GtkAdjustement, in particular min and max values.

As a consequence, hitting a Preferences reset, with a GimpMemSizeEntry
in Gigabytes, it got reset to Kilobytes with the max values capped at
4096. So I realized a Reset ended me with a Tile cache size of 4096 KB
in particular, which is of course ridiculously small and would be a
problem if one doesn't notice the issue immediately.

Add a new 3D Transform tool, based on GimpToolTransform3DGrid,

Camera - allows setting the primary vanishing point, as well as
the camera's focal length, expressed either directly, or as the
camera's angle of view, relative to the whole image or the
transformed item. By default, the vanishing point is aligned
with the item's center, and the angle of view is fixed relative
to the item; this essentially means that each item is transformed
using a local perspective, independent of its position and size
relative to the image. A global perspective can be achieved by
using a common vanishing point and focal length (or an image-
  relative angle of view).

Move - allows moving the item using X, Y, and Z offsets.

Rotate - allows rotating the item using X, Y, and Z Euler angles.
The order of rotation of the different axes can be controlled by
a set of numbered buttons next to the sliders, and the rotation's
pivot can be controlled using a pivot selector.

the files generated by the autotools. I am not doing any code change
other than trying to make both build systems produce identical files
(except for slight differences on 2 files not worth the effort) even
though maybe some things can be improved (especially on the include
list). Maybe to be improved later.

Also fixing 2 of the previously autotools-generated files because of
space typos which should have been committed earlier.

Finally it is to be noted that there is no logics to copy the generated
files back to the source directory in the meson rules. I am not sure
anyway this is really worth it and maybe we should just stop tracking
these generated files eventually.

Jehan 9dcdf37ab3 libgimpwidgets: check error return for gtk_icon_theme_load_icon().
In gimp_page_selector_add_frame(), if "gimp-frame" icon cannot be loaded

This happened here because of broken meson rules (which didn't install
this icon) and ended up in forever looping errors when loading a

GimpConfigWriter contains several constructors with the convention
`gimp_config_writer_new_* ()`. This will lead to problems however with
languages like Vala, where it cannot disambiguate the following:

```
// calls config_writer_new_string()
Gimp.ConfigWriter w = new ConfigWriter.string("xxx");
// calls config_writer_string()
w.string("xxx")
```

Using `from_` in constructors is general practice in GObject-bsed
libraries because of this.

This also fixes an error when trying to use vapigen on the GIMP .GIR

Jehan 2b22dffc49 Issue #230: ruler subdivision is wrong for inches.
Make better subvision, as well as ruler steps, based on what seems to be
the common trends for rulers of these 3 units (inch, foot and yard), but
also based on common conversion needs.

Main changes are:
- Always subdivide inches by 2, down to 1/256, and get rid of the gap
where inches division jumped from 1/16 to 1/192 (which is not even a
  multiple of 2).
- Add the 72 steps to inch ruler (1 fathom).
- Replace the 2 feet by a 3 feet (1 yard) step.
- Use base-10 steps for yard (there don't seem to be bigger units in the
imperial/US measurement system which needs specific steps).
- Add the 1/36 yard (= 1 inch) division.
- Below 1/12 feet and 1/36 yard, divide by multiples of 2 (inch-style).

Jehan 0beebf4d64 libgimpwidgets: add gimp_color_area_set_out_of_gamut() in def file. 2019-03-06 18:20:14 +01:00
Jehan 4be9b7a401 app, libgimpwidgets: new gimp_color_area_set_out_of_gamut().
This allows to force a GimpColorArea to display as out-of-gamut color.
Current code was only considering the generic RGB case (outside of [0-1]
range), and in particular not grayscale or indexed images.

Ideally the GimpColorArea widget could be (optionally) made to follow a
context, so that for instance it could update its representation when
the context image changes, or when this image's type changes. Yet since
it is a libgimpwidgets widget, it cannot get such update. Instead I add
a new API function to display the color box with the out-of-gamut
triangle. The decision code for this will have to be done elsewhere.

Use this new API for GimpColorHistory to display non-gray colors in the
history as out-of-gamut on grayscale images, or colors absent of the
palette on indexed images.

Jehan 1d984542e9 Issue #2828: Scrolling up with a mouse within a drop-down list.
We were doing it all the wrong way, fixing one combo box object at a
time. So this commit basically reverses commits 68a33ab5bd, 6dfca83c2a
and a9a979b2d0 and instead runs the same code in the class code. This
way, all objects based on these base classes will have the fix from
scratch.
These improved various other drop-down lists (I found some of them, and
probably not all) as I fixed all GIMP custom widgets based on
GtkComboBox.

Note that it has to be run after filling the list apparently (I had the
problem especially with GimpIntComboBox if running in the _init() code,
then the list widget showed wrong).

Also, generally clean up color comparison epsilons:

Jehan cd924f453a app: do not make line art bucket fill a GimpSelectCriterion anymore.
This was my initial choice, but the more I think about it, the less I am
sure this was the right choice. There was some common code (as I was
making a common composite bucket fill once the line art was generated),
but there is also a lot of different code and the functions were filled
of exception when we were doing a line art fill. Also though there is a
bit of color works (the way we decide whether a pixel is part of a
stroke or not, though currently this is basic grayscale threshold), this
is really not the same as other criterions. In particular this was made
obvious on the Select by Color tool where the line art criterion was
completely meaningless and would have had to be opted-out!

This commit split a bit the code. Instead of finding the line art in the
criterion list, I add a third choice to the "Fill whole selection"/"Fill
similar colors" radio. In turn I create a new GimpBucketFillArea type
with the 3 choices, and remove line art value from GimpSelectCriterion.

I am not fully happy yet of this code, as it creates a bit of duplicate
code, and I would appreciate to move some code away from gimpdrawable-*
and gimppickable-* files. This may happen later. I break the work in
pieces to not get too messy.
Also this removes access to the smart colorization from the API, but
that's probably ok as I prefer to not freeze options too early in the
process since API needs to be stable. Probably we should get a concept
of experimental API.

Jehan 8ed12b1b98 app, libgimpbase: add GIMP_SELECT_CRITERION_LINE_ART selection type.
This commit implements part of the research paper "A Fast and Efficient
Semi-guided Algorithm for Flat Coloring Line-arts" from the GREYC (the
people from G'Mic). It is meant to select regions from drawn sketchs in
a "smart" way, in particular it tries to close non-perfectly closed
regions, which is a common headache for digital painters and colorists.

The implementation is not finished as it needs some watersheding as well
so that the selected area does not leave "holes" near stroke borders.
The research paper proposes a new watersheding algorithm, but I may not
have to implement it, as it is more focused on automatic colorization
with prepared spots (instead of bucket fill-type interaction).

This will be used in particular with the fuzzy select and bucket fill
tools.

Note that this first version is a bit slow once we get to big images,
but I hope to be able to optimize this.
Also no options from the algorithm are made available in the GUI yet.

Ell 658d9f3a82 Issue #2470 - Spacing between grid lines does not stay at 1px ...
... as I would like it to.

Use GimpSpinButton, added in the previous commit, in GimpSizeEntry,
instead of GtkSpinButton. This avoids updating the spin-buttons'
adjustment values when they lose focus, truncating the value if it
can't be accurately displayed using the corresponding spin-button's
digit count. Since size-entries can have multiple spin-buttons
using different units, this prevents the value from changing when
entring a value using one unit, and then shifting the focus to, but

Ell 7ab9ee2686 libgimpwidgets: add GimpSpinButton
GimpSpinButton is a drop-in replacement for (and a subclass of)
GtkSpinButton. Unlike GtkSpinButton, it avoids updating the
adjustment value when losing focus, unless the entry text has
changed. This prevents accidental loss of precision, when the
adjustment value can't be accurately displayed in the entry.

Simon Budig f7ac033777 libgimpwidgets: fix accidential double G_ADD_PRIVATE 2018-09-18 23:13:24 +02:00
Ell 3b0040c043 app, libgimp*, modules: don't use g_type_class_add_private() ...
... and G_TYPE_INSTANCE_GET_PRIVATE()

g_type_class_add_private() and G_TYPE_INSTANCE_GET_PRIVATE() were
deprecated in GLib 2.58. Instead, use
G_DEFINE_[ABSTRACT_]TYPE_WITH_PRIVATE(), and
G_ADD_PRIVATE[_DYNAMIC](), and the implictly-defined
foo_get_instance_private() functions, all of which are available in
the GLib versions we depend on.

This commit only covers types registered using one of the
G_DEFINE_FOO() macros (i.e., most types), but not types with a
custom registration function, of which we still have a few -- GLib
currently only provides a (non-deprecated) public API for adding a
private struct using the G_DEFINE_FOO() macros.

Note that this commit was 99% auto-generated (because I'm not
*that* crazy :), so if there are any style mismatches... we'll have
to live with them for now.

Ell 36477bb287 app, icons, menus: add performance-log recording to the dashboard
Add an option to record a performance log through the dashboard.
The log contains a series of samples of the dashboard variables, as
well as the full program backtrace, when available. As such, it
essentially acts as a built-in profiler, which allows us to
correlate program execution with the information available through
the dashboard. It is meant to be used for creating logs to
accompany perofrmance-related bug reports, as well as for profiling
GIMP during development.

The sample frequency defaults to 10 samples per second, but can be
overridden using the GIMP_PERFORMANCE_LOG_SAMPLE_FREQUENCY
environment variable. Backtraces are included by default when
available, but can be suppressed using the
GIMP_PERFORMANCE_LOG_NO_BACKTRACE environment variable.

Logs are created through the new "record" button at the bottom of
the dashboard dialog. When pressed, a file dialog is opened to
select the log file, and, once confirmed, data is being recorded to
the selected file. Recording is stopped by pressing the "record"
button again (we use a highlight to indicate that recording is
active.)

While recording, the "reset" button is replaced with an "add marker"
button, which can be used to add event markers to the log. These
can be used to mark events of interest, such as "started painting"
and "stopped painting", which then appear in the log as part of the
sample stream. Markers are numbered sequentually, and the number
of the next (to-be-added) marker appears on the button. Shift-
clicking the button adds an empty (description-less) marker, which
is only identified by its number; this can be used when markers
need to be added quickly.

The log is an XML file, containing some extra information (such as
the output of "$ gimp -v", and symbol information) in addition to
the samples. The data in the file is delta-encoded to reduce the
file size, meaning that samples (as well as some other elements)
only specify the changes since the previous sample. This adds a
necessary decoding step before data can be processed; the next
commit adds a tool that does that.

There are currently no tools to actually analyze the data -- that's
still TBD -- but at least we can start gathering it.

Jehan 8e453330c9 configure: GLIB_COMPILE_RESOURCES is wrong when cross-compiling.
AM_PATH_GLIB_2_0 m4 macro actually computes this value using
$PKG_CONFIG. Yet $PKG_CONFIG variable is the pkg-config tool looking for
target libraries (not host), hence it would return the executable
`glib-compile-resources` built for the target.

Also using the same variable name invalidates our test: our own
AC_PATH_PROG was never run as the variable was already set. And no
environment variable could override this test anymore either. This is
why I rename the test variable to HOST_GLIB_COMPILE_RESOURCES.

Jehan d1372c6c24 libgimpwidgets, app: change "stock-size" property of...
... GimpCellRendererToggle into "icon-size".

In particular making it a pixel size instead of a GtkIconSize. This enum
is limited to a few presets (registering new values is deprecated since
GTK+ 3.10), with names completely semantically wrong. It is better to
specify icon sizes (before scaling) in pixels directly, which goes also
with named icons instead of stock ones.

In subdirs containing a generated foomarshal.h header, add the
generated sources to BUILT_SOURCES, so that they're generated
before the rest of the source files are built. Otherwise, since
there is no rule specifying the dependency between the rest of the
source files and foomarshal.h, and since foomarshal.h is not
checked into git (and hence doesn't exist when doing a clean
build), compilation of the said source files may fail if they're
built before foomarshal.h is generated.

Jehan 792b27afe1 libgimpwidgets: do not free the GtkAdjustment when finalizing...
... GimpMemsizeEntry.
A GtkAdjustment is a GInitiallyUnowned, which means it is created as a
floating reference. GtkSpinButton assumes its ownership by calling
g_object_ref_sink() in gtk_spin_button_new() implementation. Thus it
will take care of freeing it and when we try to unref it in finalize(),
the object already doesn't exist.

Alternatively we could keep another ref (by calling g_object_ref_sink()
ourselves) but since the spin button is a child of the entry, it will
live all the way until the entry is freed. There is no need to increment
the references. So instead, simplify the code, and don't try to free an
object we don't own anymore.

This fixes CRITICAL assertions:
