Currently, the CCP driver assumes that the SEV command issued to the PSP will always return (i.e. it will never hang). But recently, firmware bugs have shown that a command can hang. Since of the SEV commands are used in probe routines, this can cause boot hangs and/or loss of virtualization capabilities. To protect against firmware bugs, add a timeout in the SEV command execution flow. If a command does not complete within the specified timeout then return -ETIMEOUT and stop the driver from executing any further commands since the state of the SEV firmware is unknown. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
