Serial core handles serial_rs485 sanitization. When em485 init fails, there are two possible paths of entry: 1) uart_rs485_config (init path) that fully clears port->rs485 on error. 2) ioctl path with a pre-existing, valid port->rs485 unto which the kernel falls back on error and port->rs485 should therefore be kept untouched. The temporary rs485 struct is not returned to userspace in case of error so its flag don't matter. ...Thus SER_RS485_ENABLED clearing on error can/should be dropped. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
