Now that we converted btrfs internally to account for idmapped mounts allow the creation of idmapped mounts on by setting the FS_ALLOW_IDMAP flag. We only need to raise this flag on the btrfs_root_fs_type filesystem since btrfs_mount_root() is ultimately responsible for allocating the superblock and is called into from btrfs_mount() associated with btrfs_fs_type. The conversion of the btrfs inode operations was straightforward. Regarding btrfs specific ioctls that perform checks based on inode permissions only those have been allowed that are not filesystem wide operations and hence can be reasonably charged against a specific mount. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
