We really must check with #if __BYTE_ORDER == XYZ instead of just presence of #ifdef __LITTLE_ENDIAN. I noticed that when actually running this on big endian machine, the latter test resolves to true for user space, same for #ifdef __BIG_ENDIAN. E.g., looking at endian.h from libc, both are also defined there, so we really must test this against __BYTE_ORDER instead for proper insns selection. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
