[ Upstream commit afb373ff3f54c9d909efc7f810dc80a9742807b2 ] The IO subsystem expects a driver to retry a ccw_device_start, when the subsequent interrupt response block (irb) contains a deferred condition code 1. Symptoms before this commit: On the read channel we always trigger the next read anyhow, so no different behaviour here. On the write channel we may experience timeout errors, because the expected reply will never be received without the retry. Other callers of qeth_send_control_data() may wrongly assume that the ccw was successful, which may cause problems later. Note that since commit |

Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
