Tedd Ho-Jeong An 95655456e7 Bluetooth: btintel: Fix broken LED quirk for legacy ROM devices
This patch fixes the broken LED quirk for Intel legacy ROM devices.
To fix the LED issue that doesn't turn off immediately, the host sends
the SW RFKILL command while shutting down the interface and it puts the
devices in SW RFKILL state.

Once the device is in SW RFKILL state, it can only accept HCI_Reset to
exit from the SW RFKILL state. This patch checks the quirk for broken
LED and sends the HCI_Reset before sending the HCI_Intel_Read_Version
command.

The affected legacy ROM devices are

 - 8087:0a2a

Miaoqian Lin 6845667146 Bluetooth: hci_qca: Fix NULL vs IS_ERR_OR_NULL check in qca_serdev_probe
The function devm_gpiod_get_index() return error pointers on error.
Thus devm_gpiod_get_index_optional() could return NULL and error pointers.
The same as devm_gpiod_get_optional() function. Using IS_ERR_OR_NULL()
check to catch error pointers.

Jiasheng Jiang b38cd3b42f Bluetooth: hci_bcm: Check for error irq
For the possible failure of the platform_get_irq(), the returned irq
could be error number and will finally cause the failure of the
request_irq().
Consider that platform_get_irq() can now in certain cases return
-EPROBE_DEFER, and the consequences of letting request_irq() effectively
convert that into -EINVAL, even at probe time rather than later on.
So it might be better to check just now.

Jakub Kicinski b6459415b3 net: Don't include filter.h from net/sock.h
sock.h is pretty heavily used (5k objects rebuilt on x86 after
it's touched). We can drop the include of filter.h from it and
add a forward declaration of struct sk_filter instead.
This decreases the number of rebuilt objects when bpf.h
is touched from ~5k to ~1k.

There's a lot of missing includes this was masking. Primarily
in networking tho, this time.

Luiz Augusto von Dentz 800fe5ec30 Bluetooth: btusb: Add support for queuing during polling interval
This makes btusb to queue ACL and events during a polling interval
by using of a delayed work, with the interval working as a time window
where frames received from different endpoints are considered to be
arrived at same time and then attempt to resolve potential conflics by
processing the events ahead of ACL packets.

It worth noting though that priorizing events over ACL data may result
in inverting the order compared to how they appeared over the air, for
instance there may be packets received before a disconnect event that
will be discarded and unencrypted packets received before encryption
change which would considered encrypted, because of these potential
changes on the order the support for queuing during the polling
interval is not enabled by default so it requires setting
force_poll_sync debugfs while the adapter is down.

Cancel sync commands when transmission of URBs fail. This is done for
both failures to send a command URB and also when the interrupt URB used

This approach is sufficient to quickly deal with certain errors such as

initialization.

The board ID should be split into two bytes.
The 1st byte is chip ID, and the 2nd byte is platform ID.
For example, board ID 0x010A, 0x01 is platform ID. 0x0A is chip ID.
we have several platforms, and platform IDs are continuously added.
We would not distinguish different chips if we get these mixed up.
Platform ID:
0x00 is for Mobile
0x01 is for X86
0x02 is for Automotive
0x03 is for Consumer electronic

Here is the big set of tty and serial driver updates for 5.16-rc1.

Nothing major in here at all, just lots of tiny serial and tty driver
updates for various reported things, and some good cleanups. These
 include:
 	- more good tty api cleanups from Jiri
 	- stm32 serial driver updates
 	- softlockup fix for non-preempt systems under high serial load
 	- rpmsg serial driver update
 	- 8250 drivers updates and fixes
 	- n_gsm line discipline fixes and updates as people are finally
 	  starting to use it.

Hans de Goede 9a9023f314 Bluetooth: hci_h5: Fix (runtime)suspend issues on RTL8723BS HCIs
The recently added H5_WAKEUP_DISABLE h5->flags flag gets checked in
h5_btrtl_open(), but it gets set in h5_serdev_probe() *after*
calling hci_uart_register_device() and thus after h5_btrtl_open()
is called, set this flag earlier.

Also on devices where suspend/resume involves fully re-probing the HCI,
runtime-pm suspend should not be used, make the runtime-pm setup
conditional on the H5_WAKEUP_DISABLE flag too.

This fixes the HCI being removed and then re-added every 10 seconds
because it was being reprobed as soon as it was runtime-suspended.

Pauli Virtanen 55981d3541 Bluetooth: btusb: check conditions before enabling USB ALT 3 for WBS
Some USB BT adapters don't satisfy the MTU requirement mentioned in
commit e848dbd364 ("Bluetooth: btusb: Add support USB ALT 3 for WBS")
and have ALT 3 setting that produces no/garbled audio. Some adapters
with larger MTU were also reported to have problems with ALT 3.

Add a flag and check it and MTU before selecting ALT 3, falling back to
ALT 1. Enable the flag for Realtek, restoring the previous behavior for
non-Realtek devices.

Tested with USB adapters (mtu<72, no/garbled sound with ALT3, ALT1
works) BCM20702A1 0b05:17cb, CSR8510A10 0a12:0001, and (mtu>=72, ALT3
works) RTL8761BU 0bda:8771, Intel AX200 8087:0029 (after disabling
ALT6). Also got reports for (mtu>=72, ALT 3 reported to produce bad
audio) Intel 8087:0a2b.

From the ThP, it supports both legacy and TLV based HCI_Intel_Read_Version
command after downloading the operational firmware, and it causes the
driver to choose the wrong setup routines and missing firmware/ddc file.

So, as a workaround, this patch checks the fw variant from the TLV based

HCI_Intel_Read_Version command is used to get the legacy version
information and run the legacy bootloader setup with it.

There are multiple setup and shutdown functions for Intel device and the
setup function to be used is depends on the USB PID/VID, which makes
difficult to maintain the code and increases the code size.

This patch adds combined setup and shutdown functions to provide a
single entry point for all Intel devices and choose the setup functions
based on the information read with HCI_Intel_Read_Version command.

Starting from TyP device, the command and response parameters for
HCI_Intel_Read_Version command are changed even though OCF remains
same. However, the legacy devices still can handle the command without
error even if it has a extra parameter, so to simplify the flow,
the new command format is used to read the version information for
both legacy and new (tlv based) format.

Also, it also adds a routine to setup the hdev callbacks in btintel.

mark-yw.chen 0b10c8c84c Bluetooth: btusb: Record debug log for Mediatek Chip.
Mediatek Bluetooth controller sends the FW log and FW dump via EP2.
This patch creates an MTK specified callback(btusb_recv_acl_mtk) to
replace the original one (hci_recv_frame) when an MTK controller is
detected. The new callback will separate the firmware dump traffics
from the ACL data to have them process separately.

1. Add a new field (recv_acl) to the btusb_data struct to store
vendor-specific ACL callback handler.
2. Add the MTK-specific ACL callback handler (btusb_recv_acl_mtk) to
process ACL data, debug log, and firmware dump.
3. The debug log traces LMP/LL events and connection quality reports.
4. The upper layer can use hci_channel_monitor to receive these
packets.

Turns out Hans de Goede completed the work I started last year trying to
improve Chinese-clone detection of CSR controller chips. Quirk after quirk
these Bluetooth dongles are more usable now.

Even after a few BlueZ regressions; these clones are so fickle that some
days they stop working altogether. Except on Windows, they work fine.

But this force-suspend initialization quirk seems to mostly do the trick,
after a lot of testing Bluetooth now seems to work *all* the time.

The only problem is that the solution ended up being masked under a very
stringent check; when there are probably hundreds of fake dongle
models out there that benefit from a good reset. Make it so.

Len Baker 785077fa2d Bluetooth: btmrvl_sdio: Remove all strcpy() uses
strcpy() performs no bounds checking on the destination buffer. This
could result in linear overflows beyond the end of the buffer, leading
to all kinds of misbehaviors. The safe replacement is strscpy() but in
this case it is better to use the scnprintf to simplify the arithmetic.

This is a previous step in the path to remove the strcpy() function
entirely from the kernel.

Some RTL chips resets the FW on suspend, so wakeup is disabled on

This patch also left RTL8822 WAKEUP_DISABLE flag unset, therefore
allowing it to wake the host, and preventing reprobing on resume.

Hans de Goede b4a46996f1 Bluetooth: hci_h5: Disable the hci_suspend_notifier for btrtl devices
The hci_suspend_notifier which was introduced last year, is causing
problems for uart attached btrtl devices. These devices may loose their
firmware and their baudrate setting over a suspend/resume.

Since we don't even know the baudrate after a suspend/resume recovering
from this is tricky. The driver solves this by treating these devices
the same as USB BT HCIs which drop of the bus during suspend.

Specifically the driver:
1. Simply unconditionally turns the device fully off during
   system-suspend to save maximum power.
2. Calls device_reprobe() from a workqueue to fully re-init the device
from scratch on system-resume (unregistering the old HCI and
   registering a new HCI).

This means that these devices do not benefit from the suspend / resume
handling work done by the hci_suspend_notifier. At best this unnecessarily
adds some time to the suspend/resume time.

But in practice this is actually causing problems:

1. These btrtl devices seem to not like the HCI_OP_WRITE_SCAN_ENABLE(
SCAN_DISABLED) request being send to them when entering the
BT_SUSPEND_CONFIGURE_WAKE state. The same request send on
BT_SUSPEND_DISCONNECT works fine, but the second one send (unnecessarily?)
from the BT_SUSPEND_CONFIGURE_WAKE transition causes the device to hang:

[ 573.497754] PM: suspend entry (s2idle)
[ 573.554615] Filesystems sync: 0.056 seconds
[ 575.837753] Bluetooth: hci0: Timed out waiting for suspend events
[ 575.837801] Bluetooth: hci0: Suspend timeout bit: 4
[ 575.837925] Bluetooth: hci0: Suspend notifier action (3) failed: -110

2. The PM_POST_SUSPEND / BT_RUNNING transition races with the
driver-unbinding done by the device_reprobe() work.
If the hci_suspend_notifier wins the race it is talking to a dead
device leading to the following errors being logged:

[ 598.686060] Bluetooth: hci0: Timed out waiting for suspend events
[ 598.686124] Bluetooth: hci0: Suspend timeout bit: 5
[ 598.686237] Bluetooth: hci0: Suspend notifier action (4) failed: -110

In both cases things still work, but the suspend-notifier is causing
these ugly errors getting logged and ut increase both the suspend- and
the resume-time by 2 seconds.

This commit avoids these problems by disabling the hci_suspend_notifier.

Daniel Lenski 0324d19cb9 Bluetooth: btusb: Add a new QCA_ROME device (0cf3:e500)
This patch adds the 0cf3:e500 Bluetooth device (from a QCA9377 board) as a
QCA_ROME device. It appears to be functionally identical to another device
ID, also from a QCA9377 board, which was previously marked as QCA_ROME in
0a03f98b98
("Bluetooth: Add a new 04ca:3015 QCA_ROME device").

Without this patch, the WiFi side of the QCA9377 board is slow or unusable
when the Bluetooth side is in use.

See https://askubuntu.com/a/1137852 for another report of QCA_ROME fixing
this issue for this device ID.

Luiz Augusto von Dentz 1f14a620f3 Bluetooth: btusb: Fix failing to init controllers with operation firmware
Some firmware when operation don't may have broken versions leading to
error like the following:

[ 6.176482] Bluetooth: hci0: Firmware revision 0.0 build 121 week 7 2021
[ 6.177906] bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for intel/ibt-20-0-0.sfi failed with error -2
[ 6.177910] Bluetooth: hci0: Failed to load Intel firmware file intel/ibt-20-0-0.sfi (-2)

Since we load the firmware file just to check if its version had changed
comparing to the one already loaded we can just skip since the firmware
is already operation.

tty_unregister_ldisc now returns 0 = success. No need to check the

didn't do anything useful anyway -- the ldisc module was unloaded in any
case.

Jiri Slaby fbadf70a80 tty: set tty_ldisc_ops::num statically
There is no reason to pass the ldisc number to tty_register_ldisc
separately. Just set it in the already defined tty_ldisc_ops in all the
ldiscs.

This simplifies tty_register_ldisc a bit too (no need to set the num
member there).
