The plain text logging is currently embedded into the xt_LOG target.
In order to be able to use the plain text logging from nft_log, as a
first step, this patch moves the family specific code to the following
files and Kconfig symbols:
1) net/ipv4/netfilter/nf_log_ip.c: CONFIG_NF_LOG_IPV4
2) net/ipv6/netfilter/nf_log_ip6.c: CONFIG_NF_LOG_IPV6
3) net/netfilter/nf_log_common.c: CONFIG_NF_LOG_COMMON
These new modules will be required by xt_LOG and nft_log. This patch
is based on original patch from Arturo Borrero Gonzalez.

The error handling in the module init and exit functions can be
shortened to safe us some code.
1/ Remove the code duplications in the init function, jump straight to
the existing cleanup code by adding some labels. Also give the error
message some more value by telling the reason why loading the module has
failed.
2/ Remove the error handling in the exit function as the only legitimate
reason xfrm6_protocol_deregister() might fail is inet6_del_protocol()
returning -1. That, in turn, means some other protocol handler had been
registered for this very protocol in the meantime. But that essentially
means we haven't been handling that protocol any more, anyway. What it
definitely means not is that we "can't deregister protocol". Therefore
just get rid of that bogus warning. It's plain wrong.

When a local output ipsec packet match the mangle table rule,
and be set mark value, the packet will be route again in
route_me_harder -> _session_decoder6
In this case, the nhoff in CB of skb was still the default
value 0. So the protocal match can't success and the packet can't match
correct SA rule,and then the packet be send out in plaintext.
To fixed up the issue. The CB->nhoff must be set.

ipv4_{update_pmtu,redirect} were called with tunnel's ifindex (t->dev is a
tunnel netdevice). It caused wrong route lookup and failure of pmtu update or
redirect. We should use the same ifindex that we use in ip_route_output_* in
*tunnel_xmit code. It is t->parms.link .

Call gso_make_checksum. This should have the benefit of using a
checksum that may have been previously computed for the packet.
This also adds NETIF_F_GSO_GRE_CSUM to differentiate devices that
offload GRE GSO with and without the GRE checksum offloaed.

Commit efe4208 ("ipv6: make lookups simpler and faster") introduced a
regression in udp_v6_mcast_next(), resulting in multicast packets not
reaching the destination sockets under certain conditions.
The packet's IPv6 addresses are wrongly compared to the IPv6 addresses
from the function's socket argument, which indicates the starting point
for looping, instead of the loop variable. If the addresses from the
first socket do not match the packet's addresses, no socket in the list
will match.

I noticed we were sending wrong IPv4 ID in TCP flows when MTU discovery
is disabled.
Note how GSO/TSO packets do not have monotonically incrementing ID.

It appears I introduced this bug in linux-3.1.
inet_getid() must return the old value of peer->ip_id_count,
not the new one.

Ideally, we would need to generate IP ID using a per destination IP
generator.
linux kernels used inet_peer cache for this purpose, but this had a huge
cost on servers disabling MTU discovery.
1) each inet_peer struct consumes 192 bytes
2) inetpeer cache uses a binary tree of inet_peer structs,
with a nominal size of ~66000 elements under load.
3) lookups in this tree are hitting a lot of cache lines, as tree depth
is about 20.
4) If server deals with many tcp flows, we have a high probability of
not finding the inet_peer, allocating a fresh one, inserting it in
the tree with same initial ip_id_count, (cf secure_ip_id())
5) We garbage collect inet_peer aggressively.
IP ID generation do not have to be 'perfect'
Goal is trying to avoid duplicates in a short period of time,
so that reassembly units have a chance to complete reassembly of
fragments belonging to one message before receiving other fragments
with a recycled ID.
We simply use an array of generators, and a Jenkin hash using the dst IP
as a key.
ipv6_select_ident() is put back into net/ipv6/ip6_output.c where it
belongs (it is only used from this file)
secure_ip_id() and secure_ipv6_id() no longer are needed.
Rename ip_select_ident_more() to ip_select_ident_segs() to avoid
unnecessary decrement/increment of the number of segments.

RFC 6935 permits zero checksums to be used in IPv6 however this is
recommended only for certain tunnel protocols, it does not make
checksums completely optional like they are in IPv4.
This patch restricts the use of IPv6 zero checksums that was previously
intoduced. no_check6_tx and no_check6_rx have been added to control
the use of checksums in UDP6 RX and TX path. The normal
sk_no_check_{rx,tx} settings are not used (this avoids ambiguity when
dealing with a dual stack socket).
A helper function has been added (udp_set_no_check6) which can be
called by tunnel impelmentations to all zero checksums (send on the
socket, and accept them as valid).

Define separate fields in the sock structure for configuring disabling
checksums in both TX and RX-- sk_no_check_tx and sk_no_check_rx.
The SO_NO_CHECK socket option only affects sk_no_check_tx. Also,
removed UDP_CSUM_* defines since they are no longer necessary.

than the default, and allowing to arbitrarily disable checksums
for a whole protocol seems dangerous. This can be done on a per

When GRE support was added in linux-3.14, CHECKSUM_COMPLETE handling
broke on GRE+IPv6 because we did not update/use the appropriate csum :
GRO layer is supposed to use/update NAPI_GRO_CB(skb)->csum instead of
skb->csum
Tested using a GRE tunnel and IPv6 traffic. GRO aggregation now happens
at the first level (ethernet device) instead of being done in gre
tunnel. Native IPv6+TCP is still properly aggregated.

Enable the module alias hookup to allow tunnel modules to be autoloaded on demand.
This is in line with how most other netdev kinds work, and will allow userspace
to create tunnels without having CAP_SYS_MODULE.

RFC 4861 states in 7.2.5:
The IsRouter flag in the cache entry MUST be set based on the
Router flag in the received advertisement. In those cases
where the IsRouter flag changes from TRUE to FALSE as a result
of this update, the node MUST remove that router from the
Default Router List and update the Destination Cache entries
for all destinations using that neighbor as a router as
specified in Section 7.3.3. This is needed to detect when a
node that is used as a router stops forwarding packets due to
being configured as a host.
Currently, when dealing with NA Message which IsRouter flag changes from
TRUE to FALSE, the kernel only removes router from the Default Router List,
and don't update the Destination Cache entries.
Now in order to update those Destination Cache entries, i introduce
function rt6_clean_tohost().

tot_len does specify the size of struct ipv6_txoptions. We need opt_flen +
opt_nflen to calculate the overall length of additional ipv6 extensions.
I found this while auditing the ipv6 output path for a memory corruption
reported by Alexey Preobrazhensky while he fuzzed an instrumented
AddressSanitizer kernel with trinity. This may or may not be the cause
of the original bug.

When using mark-based routing, sockets returned from accept()
may need to be marked differently depending on the incoming
connection request.
This is the case, for example, if different socket marks identify
different networks: a listening socket may want to accept
connections from all networks, but each connection should be
marked with the network that the request came in on, so that
subsequent packets are sent on the correct network.
This patch adds a sysctl to mark TCP sockets based on the fwmark
of the incoming SYN packet. If enabled, and an unmarked socket
receives a SYN, then the SYN packet's fwmark is written to the
connection's inet_request_sock, and later written back to the
accepted socket when the connection is established. If the
socket already has a nonzero mark, then the behaviour is the same
as it is today, i.e., the listening socket's fwmark is used.
Black-box tested using user-mode linux:
- IPv4/IPv6 SYN+ACK, FIN, etc. packets are routed based on the
mark of the incoming SYN packet.
- The socket returned by accept() is marked with the mark of the
incoming SYN packet.
- Tested with syncookies=1 and syncookies=2.

Currently, routing lookups used for Path PMTU Discovery in
absence of a socket or on unmarked sockets use a mark of 0.
This causes PMTUD not to work when using routing based on
netfilter fwmark mangling and fwmark ip rules, such as:
iptables -j MARK --set-mark 17
ip rule add fwmark 17 lookup 100
This patch causes these route lookups to use the fwmark from the
received ICMP error when the fwmark_reflect sysctl is enabled.
This allows the administrator to make PMTUD work by configuring
appropriate fwmark rules to mark the inbound ICMP packets.
Black-box tested using user-mode linux by pointing different
fwmarks at routing tables egressing on different interfaces, and
using iptables mangling to mark packets inbound on each interface
with the interface's fwmark. ICMPv4 and ICMPv6 PMTU discovery
work as expected when mark reflection is enabled and fail when
it is disabled.

Kernel-originated IP packets that have no user socket associated
with them (e.g., ICMP errors and echo replies, TCP RSTs, etc.)
are emitted with a mark of zero. Add a sysctl to make them have
the same mark as the packet they are replying to.
This allows an administrator that wishes to do so to use
mark-based routing, firewalling, etc. for these replies by
marking the original packets inbound.
Tested using user-mode linux:
- ICMP/ICMPv6 echo replies and errors.
- TCP RST packets (IPv4 and IPv6).

After all the preparatory works, supporting IPv6 in Fast Open is now easy.
We pretty much just mirror v4 code. The only difference is how we
generate the Fast Open cookie for IPv6 sockets. Since Fast Open cookie
is 128 bits and we use AES 128, we use CBC-MAC to encrypt both the
source and destination IPv6 addresses since the cookie is a MAC tag.

If a fast open socket is already accepted by the user, it should
be treated like a connected socket to record the ICMP error in
sk_softerr, so the user can fetch it. Do that in both tcp_v4_err
and tcp_v6_err.
Also refactor the sequence window check to improve readability
(e.g., there were two local variables named 'req').

The function ip6_tnl_validate assumes that the rtnl
attribute IFLA_IPTUN_PROTO always be filled . If this
attribute is not filled by the userspace application
kernel get crashed with NULL pointer dereference. This
patch fixes the potential kernel crash when
IFLA_IPTUN_PROTO is missing .

unregister the pernet ops twice on the error exit path. This will
probably lead to a kernel panic as the double deregistration
leads to a double kfree().

We simply say that regular this_cpu use must be safe regardless of
preemption and interrupt state. That has no material change for x86
and s390 implementations of this_cpu operations. However, arches that
do not provide their own implementation for this_cpu operations will
now get code generated that disables interrupts instead of preemption.
probably no arch wants to have SNMP_ARRAY_SZ == 2. At least after
almost 3 years, no one complains.
So, just convert the array to a single pointer and remove snmp_mib_init()
and snmp_mib_free() as well.

If conntrack defragments incoming ipv6 frags it stores largest original
frag size in ip6cb and sets ->local_df.
We must thus first test the largest original frag size vs. mtu, and not
vice versa.
Without this patch PKTTOOBIG is still generated in ip6_fragment() later
in the stack, but
1) IPSTATS_MIB_INTOOBIGERRORS won't increment
2) packet did (needlessly) traverse netfilter postrouting hook.

We don't catch the case if an unsupported protocol is submitted
to the xfrm6 protocol handlers, this can lead to NULL pointer
dereferences. Fix this by adding the appropriate checks.

RFC 6936 relaxes the requirement of RFC 2460 that UDP/IPv6 packets which
are received with a zero UDP checksum value must be dropped. RFC 6936
allows zero checksums to support tunnels over UDP.
When sk_no_check is set we allow on a socket we allow a zero IPv6
UDP checksum. This is for both sending zero checksum and accepting
a zero checksum on receive.

When the ipv6 fib changes during a table dump, the walk is
restarted and the number of nodes dumped are skipped. But the existing
code doesn't advance to the next node after a node is skipped. This can
cause the dump to loop or produce lots of duplicates when the fib
is modified during the dump.
This change advances the walk to the next node if the current node is
skipped after a restart.

This patch allows to switch the netns when packet is encapsulated or
decapsulated. In other word, the encapsulated packet is received in a netns,
where the lookup is done to find the tunnel. Once the tunnel is found, the
packet is decapsulated and injecting into the corresponding interface which
stands to another netns.
When one of the two netns is removed, the tunnel is destroyed.

Userspace applications can use IFA_F_MANAGETEMPADDR with RTM_NEWADDR
already to indicate that the kernel should take care of temporary
address management.
This patch adds related functionality to RTM_DELADDR. By setting
IFA_F_MANAGETEMPADDR a userspace application can indicate that the kernel
should delete all related temporary addresses as well.
A corresponding patch for the "ip addr del" command has been applied to
iproute2 already.

It's possible to remove the FB tunnel with the command 'ip link del ip6gre0' but
this is unsafe, the module always supposes that this device exists. For example,
ip6gre_tunnel_lookup() may use it unconditionally.
Let's add a rtnl handler for dellink, which will never remove the FB tunnel (we
let ip6gre_destroy_tunnels() do the job).

In the dst->output() path for ipv4, the code assumes the skb it has to
transmit is attached to an inet socket, specifically via
ip_mc_output() : The sk_mc_loop() test triggers a WARN_ON() when the
provider of the packet is an AF_PACKET socket.
The dst->output() method gets an additional 'struct sock *sk'
parameter. This needs a cascade of changes so that this parameter can
be propagated from vxlan to final consumer.

ip_queue_xmit() assumes the skb it has to transmit is attached to an
inet socket. Commit 31c70d5956 ("l2tp: keep original skb ownership")
changed l2tp to not change skb ownership and thus broke this assumption.
One fix is to add a new 'struct sock *sk' parameter to ip_queue_xmit(),
so that we do not assume skb->sk points to the socket used by l2tp
tunnel.

Francois reported that setting big mtu on loopback device could prevent
tcp sessions making progress.
We do not support (yet ?) IPv6 Jumbograms and cook corrupted packets.
We must limit the IPv6 MTU to (65535 + 40) bytes in theory.

net-next commit 9c76a11, ipv6: tcp_ipv6 policy route issue, had
a boolean logic error that caused incorrect behaviour for TCP
SYN+ACK when oif-based rules are in use. Specifically:
1. If a SYN comes in from a global address, and sk_bound_dev_if
is not set, the routing lookup has oif set to the interface
the SYN came in on. Instead, it should have oif unset,
because for global addresses, the incoming interface doesn't
necessarily have any bearing on the interface the SYN+ACK is
sent out on.
2. If a SYN comes in from a link-local address, and
sk_bound_dev_if is set, the routing lookup has oif set to the
interface the SYN came in on. Instead, it should have oif set
to sk_bound_dev_if, because that's what the application
requested.

The ipv6 xfrm output path is not aware that packets can be
rerouted by NAT to not use IPsec. We crash in this case
because we expect to have a xfrm state at the dst_entry.
This crash happens if the ipv6 layer does IPsec and NAT
or if we have an interfamily IPsec tunnel with ipv4 NAT.
We fix this by checking for a NAT rerouted packet in each
address family and dst_output() to the new destination
in this case.

All xtables variants suffer from the defect that the copy_to_user()
to copy the counters to user memory may fail after the table has
already been exchanged and thus exposed. Return an error at this
point will result in freeing the already exposed table. Any
subsequent packet processing will result in a kernel panic.
We can't copy the counters before exposing the new tables as we
want provide the counter state after the old table has been
unhooked. Therefore convert this into a silent error.

After commit c15b1ccadb ("ipv6: move DAD and addrconf_verify
processing to workqueue") some counters are now updated in process context
and thus need to disable bh before doing so, otherwise deadlocks can
happen on 32-bit archs. Fabio Estevam noticed this while while mounting
a NFS volume on an ARM board.
As a compensation for missing this I looked after the other *_STATS_BH
and found three other calls which need updating:
1) icmp6_send: ip6_fragment -> icmpv6_send -> icmp6_send (error handling)
2) ip6_push_pending_frames: rawv6_sendmsg -> rawv6_push_pending_frames -> ...
(only in case of icmp protocol with raw sockets in error handling)
3) ping6_v6_sendmsg (error handling)

First off, we don't need to check for non-NULL rt any more, as we are
guaranteed to always get a valid rt6_info. Drop the check.
In case we couldn't allocate an inet_peer for fragmentation information
we currently generate strictly incrementing fragmentation ids for all
destination. This is done to maximize the cycle and avoid collisions.
Those fragmentation ids are very predictable. At least we should try to
mix in the destination address.
While it should make no difference to simply use a PRNG at this point,
secure_ipv6_id ensures that we don't leak information from prandom,
so its internal state could be recoverable.
This fallback function should normally not get used thus this should
not affect performance at all. It is just meant as a safety net.

The issue raises when adding policy route, specify a particular
NIC as oif, the policy route did not take effect. The reason is
that fl6.oif is not set and route map failed. From the
tcp_v6_send_response function, if the binding address is linklocal,
fl6.oif is set, but not for global address.

addrconf_join_solict and addrconf_join_anycast may cause actions which
need rtnl locked, especially on first address creation.
A new DAD state is introduced which defers processing of the initial
DAD processing into a workqueue.
To get rtnl lock we need to push the code paths which depend on those
calls up to workqueues, specifically addrconf_verify and the DAD
processing.

addrconf_dad_failure needs to be queued up to the workqueue, too. This
patch introduces a new DAD state and stop the DAD processing in the
workqueue (this is because of the possible ipv6_del_addr processing
which removes the solicited multicast address from the device).
addrconf_verify_lock is removed, too. After the transition it is not
needed any more.
As we are not processing in bottom half anymore we need to be a bit more
careful about disabling bottom half out when we lock spin_locks which are also
used in bh.

new route for the same target with different metrics fails but
rewrites the metrics anyway:

This is caused by all IPv6 host routes using the metrics in
their inetpeer (or the shared default). This also holds for the
new route created in ip6_route_add() which shares the metrics
with the already existing route and thus ip6_route_add()
rewrites the metrics even if the new route ends up not being
used at all.
Another problem is that old metrics in inetpeer can reappear
unexpectedly for a new route, e.g.

Resolve the first problem by moving the setting of metrics down
into fib6_add_rt2node() to the point we are sure we are
inserting the new route into the tree. Second problem is
addressed by introducing new flag DST_METRICS_FORCE_OVERWRITE
which is set for a new host route in ip6_route_add() and makes
ipv6_cow_metrics() always overwrite the metrics in inetpeer
(even if they are not "new"); it is reset after that.

Commit 812e44dd18 ("ip6mr: advertise new mfc entries via rtnl") reuses the
function ip6mr_fill_mroute() to notify mfc events.
But this function was used only for dump and thus was always setting the
flag NLM_F_MULTI, which is wrong in case of a single notification.
Libraries like libnl will wait forever for NLMSG_DONE.

In ip6_append_data_mtu(), when the xfrm mode is not tunnel(such as
transport),the ipsec header need to be added in the first fragment, so the mtu
will decrease to reserve space for it, then the second fragment come, the mtu
should be turn back, as the commit 0c1833797a
said. however, in the commit a493e60ac4bbe2e977e7129d6d8cbb0dd236be, it use
*mtu = min(*mtu, ...) to change the mtu, which lead to the new mtu is alway
equal with the first fragment's. and cannot turn back.

Replace the bh safe variant with the hard irq safe variant.
We need a hard irq safe variant to deal with netpoll transmitting
packets from hard irq context, and we need it in most if not all of
the places using the bh safe variant.
Except on 32bit uni-processor the code is exactly the same so don't
bother with a bh variant, just have a hard irq safe variant that
everyone can use.

With this patch we can tunnel ipv4 traffic via a vti6
interface. A vti6 interface can now have an ipv4 address
and ipv4 traffic can be routed via a vti6 interface.
The resulting traffic is xfrm transformed and tunneled
through ipv6 if matching IPsec policies and states are
present.

With this patch, vti6 uses the IPsec protocol multiplexer to
register its own receive side hooks for ESP, AH and IPCOMP.
Vti6 now does the following on receive side:
1. Do an input policy check for the IPsec packet we received.
This is required because this packet could be already
prosecces by IPsec, so an inbuond policy check is needed.
2. Mark the packet with the i_key. The policy and the state
must match this key now. Policy and state belong to the vti
namespace and policy enforcement is done at the further layers.
3. Call the generic xfrm layer to do decryption and decapsulation.
4. Wait for a callback from the xfrm layer to properly clean the
skb to not leak informations on namespace transitions and
update the device statistics.
On transmit side:
1. Mark the packet with the o_key. The policy and the state
must match this key now.
2. Do a xfrm_lookup on the original packet with the mark applied.
3. Check if we got an IPsec route.
4. Clean the skb to not leak informations on namespace
transitions.
5. Attach the dst_enty we got from the xfrm_lookup to the skb.
6. Call dst_output to do the IPsec processing.
7. Do the device statistics.

Unlike ip6_tunnel, vti6 does not use the the tunnel
endpoint addresses to do route and xfrm lookups.
So no need to cache the flow informations. It also
does not make sense to calculate the mtu based on
such flow informations, so remove this too.

This patch adds an IPsec protocol multiplexer for ipv6. With
this it is possible to add alternative protocol handlers, as
needed for IPsec virtual tunnel interfaces.

tmp_prefered_lft is an offset to ifp->tstamp, not now. Therefore
age needs to be added to the condition.
Age calculation in ipv6_create_tempaddr is different from the one
in addrconf_verify and doesn't consider ADDRCONF_TIMER_FUZZ_MINUS.
This can cause age in ipv6_create_tempaddr to be less than the one
in addrconf_verify and therefore unnecessary temporary address to
be generated.
Use age calculation as in addrconf_modify to avoid this.

DST_NOCOUNT should only be used if an authorized user adds routes
locally. In case of routes which are added on behalf of router
advertisments this flag must not get used as it allows an unlimited
number of routes getting added remotely.

Without this fix, ipv6_exthdrs_offload_init doesn't register IPPROTO_DSTOPTS
offload, but returns 0 (as the IPPROTO_ROUTING registration actually succeeds).
This then causes the ipv6_gso_segment to drop IPv6 packets with IPPROTO_DSTOPTS
header.
The issue detected and the fix verified by running MS HCK Offload LSO test on
top of QEMU Windows guests, as this test sends IPv6 packets with
IPPROTO_DSTOPTS.

Commit e688a60480 ("net: introduce DST_NOPEER dst flag") introduced
DST_NOPEER because because of crashes in ipv6_select_ident called from
udp6_ufo_fragment.
Since commit 916e4cf46d ("ipv6: reuse ip6_frag_id from
ip6_ufo_append_data") we don't call ipv6_select_ident any more from
ip6_ufo_append_data, thus this flag lost its purpose and can be removed.

Add the following snmp stats:
TCPFastOpenActiveFail: Fast Open attempts (SYN/data) failed beacuse
the remote does not accept it or the attempts timed out.
TCPSynRetrans: number of SYN and SYN/ACK retransmits to break down
retransmissions into SYN, fast-retransmits, timeout retransmits, etc.
TCPOrigDataSent: number of outgoing packets with original data (excluding
retransmission but including data-in-SYN). This counter is different from
TcpOutSegs because TcpOutSegs also tracks pure ACKs. TCPOrigDataSent is
more useful to track the TCP retransmission rate.
Change TCPFastOpenActive to track only successful Fast Opens to be symmetric to
TCPFastOpenPassive.

The commit 9195bb8e38 ("ipv6: improve
ipv6_find_hdr() to skip empty routing headers") broke ipv6_find_hdr().
When a target is specified like IPPROTO_ICMPV6 ipv6_find_hdr()
returns -ENOENT when it's found, not the header as expected.
A part of IPVS is broken and possible also nft_exthdr_eval().
When target is -1 which it is most cases, it works.
This patch exits the do while loop if the specific header is found
so the nexthdr could be returned as expected.

This option has the same semantic as IP_PMTUDISC_OMIT for IPv4 which
got recently introduced. It doesn't honor the path mtu discovered by the
host but in contrary to IPV6_PMTUDISC_INTERFACE allows the generation of
fragments if the packet size exceeds the MTU of the outgoing interface
MTU.

First, I aligned inet_gso_segment and ipv6_gso_segment:
* align naming of flags
* ipv6_gso_segment: setting skb->encapsulation is unnecessary, as we
always ensure that the state of this flag is left untouched when
returning from upper gso segmenation function
* ipv6_gso_segment: move skb_reset_inner_headers below updating the
fragmentation header data, we don't care for updating fragmentation
header data
* remove currently unneeded comment indicating skb->encapsulation might
get changed by upper gso_segment callback (gre and udp-tunnel reset
encapsulation after segmentation on each fragment)
If we encounter an IPIP or SIT gso skb we now check for the protocol ==
IPPROTO_UDP and that we at least have already traversed another ip(6)
protocol header.
The reason why we have to special case GSO_IPIP and GSO_SIT is that
we reset skb->encapsulation to 0 while skb_mac_gso_segment the inner
protocol of GSO_UDP_TUNNEL or GSO_GRE packets.

Currently we generate a new fragmentation id on UFO segmentation. It
is pretty hairy to identify the correct net namespace and dst there.
Especially tunnels use IFF_XMIT_DST_RELEASE and thus have no skb_dst
available at all.
This causes unreliable or very predictable ipv6 fragmentation id
generation while segmentation.
Luckily we already have pregenerated the ip6_frag_id in
ip6_ufo_append_data and can use it here.

This bug was reported by Steinar H. Gunderson and was introduced by commit
f7cb888633 ("sit/gre6: don't try to add the same route two times").

but after the above commit, no such route shows up.
There is no link local route because dev->dev_addr is 0 (because local ipv4
address is 0), hence no link local address is configured.
In this scenario, the link local address is added manually: 'ip -6 addr add
fe80::1 dev foo' and because prefix is /128, no link local route is added by the
kernel.
Even if the right things to do is to add the link local address with a /64
prefix, we need to restore the previous behavior to avoid breaking userpace.

When using nftables with CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TRACE=n, we get
lots of "TRACE: filter:output:policy:1 IN=..." warnings as several
places will leave skb->nf_trace uninitialised.
Unlike iptables tracing functionality is not conditional in nftables,
so always copy/zero nf_trace setting when nftables is enabled.
Move this into __nf_copy() helper.

Marcelo Ricardo Leitner reported problems when the forwarding link path
has a lower mtu than the incoming one if the inbound interface supports GRO.
Given:
Host <mtu1500> R1 <mtu1200> R2
Host sends tcp stream which is routed via R1 and R2. R1 performs GRO.
In this case, the kernel will fail to send ICMP fragmentation needed
messages (or pkt too big for ipv6), as GSO packets currently bypass dstmtu
checks in forward path. Instead, Linux tries to send out packets exceeding
the mtu.
When locking route MTU on Host (i.e., no ipv4 DF bit set), R1 does
not fragment the packets when forwarding, and again tries to send out
packets exceeding R1-R2 link mtu.
This alters the forwarding dstmtu checks to take the individual gso
segment lengths into account.
For ipv6, we send out pkt too big error for gso if the individual
segments are too big.
For ipv4, we either send icmp fragmentation needed, or, if the DF bit
is not set, perform software segmentation and let the output path
create fragments when the packet is leaving the machine.
It is not 100% correct as the error message will contain the headers of
the GRO skb instead of the original/segmented one, but it seems to
work fine in my (limited) tests.
Eric Dumazet suggested to simply shrink mss via ->gso_size to avoid
sofware segmentation.
However it turns out that skb_segment() assumes skb nr_frags is related
to mss size so we would BUG there. I don't want to mess with it considering
Herbert and Eric disagree on what the correct behavior should be.
Hannes Frederic Sowa notes that when we would shrink gso_size
skb_segment would then also need to deal with the case where
SKB_MAX_FRAGS would be exceeded.
This uses sofware segmentation in the forward path when we hit ipv4
non-DF packets and the outgoing link mtu is too small. Its not perfect,
but given the lack of bug reports wrt. GRO fwd being broken this is a
rare case anyway. Also its not like this could not be improved later
once the dust settles.

The patch 446fab5933 ("ipv6: enable anycast addresses
as source addresses in ICMPv6 error messages") causes an Oops when pinging a not
set up IPv6 peer on a sit tunnel.
The problem is that ipv6_anycast_destination() uses unconditionally skb_dst(skb),
which is NULL in this case.
The solution is to use instead the ipv6_chk_acast_addr_src() function.

From looking at the TPROXY code, and with help from Florian, I see
that the memory leak is introduced in tcp_v4_early_demux():

where the socket is assigned unconditionally to skb->sk, also bumping
the refcnt on it. This is problematic, because in our case the skb
has already a socket assigned in the TPROXY target. This then results

this behavior.
Since the addrconf router is moved to the garbage list when
lo device down, we should release this router and rellocate
a new one for ipv6 address when lo device up.

This change allows to consider an anycast address valid as source address
when given via an IPV6_PKTINFO or IPV6_2292PKTINFO ancillary data item.
So, when sending a datagram with ancillary data, the unicast and anycast
addresses are handled in the same way.
- Adds ipv6_chk_acast_addr_src() to check if an anycast address is link-local
on given interface or is global.
- Uses it in ip6_datagram_send_ctl().

Some ipv6 protocols cannot handle ipv4 addresses, so we must not allow
connecting and binding to them. sendmsg logic does already check msg->name
for this but must trust already connected sockets which could be set up
for connection to ipv4 address family.
Per-socket flag ipv6only is of no use here, as it is under users control
by setsockopt.

ipv6_link_dev_addr sorts newly added addresses by scope in
ifp->addr_list. Smaller scope addresses are added to the tail of the
list. Use this fact to iterate in reverse over addr_list and break out
as soon as a higher scoped one showes up, so we can spare some cycles
on machines with lot's of addresses.
The ordering of the addresses is not relevant and we are more likely to
get the eui64 generated address with this change anyway.

We currently don't report IPV6_RECVPKTINFO in cmsg access ancillary data
for IPv4 datagrams on IPv6 sockets.
This patch splits the ip6_datagram_recv_ctl into two functions, one
which handles both protocol families, AF_INET and AF_INET6, while the
ip6_datagram_recv_specific_ctl only handles IPv6 cmsg data.
ip6_datagram_recv_*_ctl never reported back any errors, so we can make
them return void. Also provide a helper for protocols which don't offer dual
personality to further use ip6_datagram_recv_ctl, which is exported to
modules.
I needed to shuffle the code for ping around a bit to make it easier to
implement dual personality for ping ipv6 sockets in future.

With the introduction of IPV6_FL_F_REFLECT, there is no guarantee of
flow label unicity. This patch introduces a new sysctl to protect the old
behaviour, enable by default.

This information is already available via IPV6_FLOWINFO
of IPV6_2292PKTOPTIONS, and them a filtering to get the flow label
information. But it is probably logical and easier for users to add this
here, and to control both sent/received flow label values with the
IPV6_FLOWLABEL_MGR option.

With this option, the socket will reply with the flow label value read
on received packets.
The goal is to have a connection with the same flow label in both
direction of the communication.

This is a follow-up patch to f3d3342602 ("net: rework recvmsg
handler msg_name and msg_namelen logic").
DECLARE_SOCKADDR validates that the structure we use for writing the
name information to is not larger than the buffer which is reserved
for msg->msg_name (which is 128 bytes). Also use DECLARE_SOCKADDR
consistently in sendmsg code paths.

The RFC 3810 defines two type of messages for multicast
listeners. The "Current State Report" message, as the name
implies, refreshes the *current* state to the querier.
Since the querier sends Query messages periodically, there
is no need to retransmit the report.
On the other hand, any change should be reported immediately
using "State Change Report" messages. Since it's an event
triggered by a change and that it can be affected by packet
loss, the rfc states it should be retransmitted [RobVar] times
to make sure routers will receive timely.
Currently, we are sending "Current State Reports" after
DAD is completed. Before that, we send messages using
unspecified address (::) which should be silently discarded
by routers.
This patch changes to send "State Change Report" messages
after DAD is completed fixing the behavior to be RFC compliant
and also to pass TAHI IPv6 testsuite.

In commit 1ec047eb47 ("ipv6: introduce per-interface counter for
dad-completed ipv6 addresses") I build the detection of the first
operational link-local address much to complex. Additionally this code
now has a race condition.
Replace it with a much simpler variant, which just scans the address
list when duplicate address detection completes, to check if this is
the first valid link local address and send RS and MLD reports then.

Refactor the deletion/update of prefix routes when removing an
address. Now also consider IFA_F_NOPREFIXROUTE and if there is an address
present with this flag, to not cleanup the route. Instead, assume
that userspace is taking care of this route.
Also perform the same cleanup, when userspace changes an existing address
to add NOPREFIXROUTE (to an address that didn't have this flag). This is
done because when the address was added, a prefix route was created for it.
Since the user now wants to handle this route by himself, we cleanup this
route.
This cleanup of the route is not totally robust. There is no guarantee,
that the route we are about to delete was really the one added by the
kernel. This behavior does not change by the patch, and in practice it
should work just fine.

When adding/modifying an IPv6 address, the userspace application needs
a way to suppress adding a prefix route. This is for example relevant
together with IFA_F_MANAGERTEMPADDR, where userspace creates autoconf
generated addresses, but depending on on-link, no route for the
prefix should be added.

Bob Falken reported that after 4G packets, multicast forwarding stopped
working. This was because of a rule reference counter overflow which
freed the rule as soon as the overflow happend.
This patch solves this by adding the FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF flag to
fib_rules_lookup calls. This is safe even from non-rcu locked sections
as in this case the flag only implies not taking a reference to the rule,
which we don't need at all.
Rules only hold references to the namespace, which are guaranteed to be
available during the call of the non-rcu protected function reg_vif_xmit
because of the interface reference which itself holds a reference to
the net namespace.

This patch removes the net_random and net_srandom macros and replaces
them with direct calls to the prandom ones. As new commits only seem to
use prandom_u32 there is no use to keep them around.

In the IPv6 forwarding path we are only concerend about the outgoing
interface MTU, but also respect locked MTUs on routes. Tunnel provider
or IPSEC already have to recheck and if needed send PtB notifications
to the sending host in case the data does not fit into the packet with
added headers (we only know the final header sizes there, while also
using path MTU information).
The reason for this change is, that path MTU information can be injected
into the kernel via e.g. icmp_err protocol handler without verification
of local sockets. As such, this could cause the IPv6 forwarding path to
wrongfully emit Packet-too-Big errors and drop IPv6 packets.

In the past the IFA_PERMANENT flag indicated, that the valid and preferred
lifetime where ignored. Since change fad8da3e08 ("ipv6 addrconf: fix
preferred lifetime state-changing behavior while valid_lft is infinity")
we honour at least the preferred lifetime on those addresses. As such
the valid lifetime gets recalculated and updated to 0.
If loopback address is added manually this problem does not occur.
Also if NetworkManager manages IPv6, those addresses will get added via
inet6_rtm_newaddr and thus will have a correct lifetime, too.

Currently the AF-specific hook functions override the chain-type specific
hook functions. That doesn't make too much sense since the chain types
are a special case of the AF-specific hooks.
Make the AF-specific hook functions the default and make the optional
chain type hooks override them.
As a side effect, the necessary code restructuring reduces the code size,
f.i. in case of nf_tables_ipv4.o:

This patch built on top of Commit 299603e837
("net-gro: Prepare GRO stack for the upcoming tunneling support") to add
the support of the standard GRE (RFC1701/RFC2784/RFC2890) to the GRO
stack. It also serves as an example for supporting other encapsulation
protocols in the GRO stack in the future.
The patch supports version 0 and all the flags (key, csum, seq#) but
will flush any pkt with the S (seq#) flag. This is because the S flag
is not support by GSO, and a GRO pkt may end up in the forwarding path,
thus requiring GSO support to break it up correctly.
Currently the "packet_offload" structure only contains L3 (ETH_P_IP/
ETH_P_IPV6) GRO offload support so the encapped pkts are limited to
IP pkts (i.e., w/o L2 hdr). But support for other protocol type can
be easily added, so is the support for GRE variations like NVGRE.
The patch also support csum offload. Specifically if the csum flag is on
and the h/w is capable of checksumming the payload (CHECKSUM_COMPLETE),
the code will take advantage of the csum computed by the h/w when
validating the GRE csum.
Note that commit 60769a5dcd "ipv4: gre:
add GRO capability" already introduces GRO capability to IPv4 GRE
tunnels, using the gro_cells infrastructure. But GRO is done after
GRE hdr has been removed (i.e., decapped). The following patch applies
GRO when pkts first come in (before hitting the GRE tunnel code). There
is some performance advantage for applying GRO as early as possible.
Also this approach is transparent to other subsystem like Open vSwitch
where GRE decap is handled outside of the IP stack hence making it
harder for the gro_cells stuff to apply. On the other hand, some NICs
are still not capable of hashing on the inner hdr of a GRE pkt (RSS).
In that case the GRO processing of pkts from the same remote host will
all happen on the same CPU and the performance may be suboptimal.
I'm including some rough preliminary performance numbers below. Note
that the performance will be highly dependent on traffic load, mix as
usual. Moreover it also depends on NIC offload features hence the
following is by no means a comprehesive study. Local testing and tuning
will be needed to decide the best setting.
All tests spawned 50 copies of netperf TCP_STREAM and ran for 30 secs.

This change allows to follow a recommandation of RFC4942.
- Add "anycast_src_echo_reply" sysctl to control the use of anycast addresses
as source addresses for ICMPv6 echo reply. This sysctl is false by default
to preserve existing behavior.
- Add inline check ipv6_anycast_destination().
- Use them in icmpv6_echo_reply().

Fixed a problem with setting the lifetime of an IPv6
address. When setting preferred_lft to a value not zero or
infinity, while valid_lft is infinity(0xffffffff) preferred
lifetime is set to forever and does not update. Therefore
preferred lifetime never becomes deprecated. valid lifetime
and preferred lifetime should be set independently, even if
valid lifetime is infinity, preferred lifetime must expire
correctly (meaning it must eventually become deprecated)

ip6_rt_copy only sets dst.from if ort has flag RTF_ADDRCONF and RTF_DEFAULT.
but the prefix routes which did get installed by hand locally can have an
expiration, and no any flag combination which can ensure a potential from
does never expire, so we should always set the new created dst's from.
This also fixes the new created dst is always expired since the ort, which
is created by RA, maybe has RTF_EXPIRES and RTF_ADDRCONF, but no RTF_DEFAULT.

While testing my changes for TSO support in SIT devices,
I was using sit0 tunnel which appears to include nopmtudisc flag.
But using :
ip tun add sittun mode sit remote $REMOTE_IPV4 local $LOCAL_IPV4 \
dev $IFACE
We get a tunnel which rejects too long packets because of the mtu check
which is not yet GSO aware.

Sockets marked with IPV6_PMTUDISC_PROBE (or later IPV6_PMTUDISC_INTERFACE)
don't respect this setting when the outgoing interface supports UFO.
We had the same problem in IPv4, which was fixed in commit
daba287b29 ("ipv4: fix DO and PROBE pmtu
mode regarding local fragmentation with UFO/CORK").
Also IPV6_DONTFRAG mode did not care about already corked data, thus
it may generate a fragmented frame even if this socket option was
specified. It also did not care about the length of the ipv6 header and
possible options.
In the error path allow the user to receive the pmtu notifications via
both, rxpmtu method or error queue. The user may opted in for both,
so deliver the notification to both error handlers (the handlers check
if the error needs to be enqueued).
Also report back consistent pmtu values when sending on an already
cork-appended socket.

IPV6_PMTU_INTERFACE is the same as IPV6_PMTU_PROBE for ipv6. Add it
nontheless for symmetry with IPv4 sockets. Also drop incoming MTU
information if this mode is enabled.
The additional bit in ipv6_pinfo just eats in the padding behind the
bitfield. There are no changes to the layout of the struct at all.

This patch modifies the GRO stack to avoid the use of "network_header"
and associated macros like ip_hdr() and ipv6_hdr() in order to allow
an arbitary number of IP hdrs (v4 or v6) to be used in the
encapsulation chain. This lays the foundation for various IP
tunneling support (IP-in-IP, GRE, VXLAN, SIT,...) to be added later.
With this patch, the GRO stack traversing now is mostly based on
skb_gro_offset rather than special hdr offsets saved in skb (e.g.,
skb->network_header). As a result all but the top layer (i.e., the
the transport layer) must have hdrs of the same length in order for
a pkt to be considered for aggregation. Therefore when adding a new
encap layer (e.g., for tunneling), one must check and skip flows
(e.g., by setting NAPI_GRO_CB(p)->same_flow to 0) that have a
different hdr length.
Note that unlike the network header, the transport header can and
will continue to be set by the GRO code since there will be at
most one "transport layer" in the encap chain.

RFC 4191 states in 3.5:
When a host avoids using any non-reachable router X and instead sends
a data packet to another router Y, and the host would have used
router X if router X were reachable, then the host SHOULD probe each
such router X's reachability by sending a single Neighbor
Solicitation to that router's address. A host MUST NOT probe a
router's reachability in the absence of useful traffic that the host
would have sent to the router if it were reachable. In any case,
these probes MUST be rate-limited to no more than one per minute per
router.
Currently, when the neighbour corresponding to a router falls into
NUD_FAILED, it's never considered again. Introduce a new rt6_nud_state
value, RT6_NUD_FAIL_PROBE, which suggests the route should not be used but
should be probed with a single NS. The probe is ratelimited by the existing
code. To better distinguish meanings of the failure values, rename
RT6_NUD_FAIL_SOFT to RT6_NUD_FAIL_DO_RR.

This changes ensures that the routing entry investigated by the suppress
function actually does point to a device struct before following that pointer,
fixing a possible kernel oops situation when verifying the interface group
associated with a routing table entry.
According to Daniel Golle, this Oops can be triggered by a user process trying
to establish an outgoing IPv6 connection while having no real IPv6 connectivity
set up (only autoassigned link-local addresses).

The current implementation of IPV6_FLOWINFO only gives a
result if pktoptions is available (thanks to the
ip6_datagram_recv_ctl function).
It gives inconsistent results to user space, sometimes
there is a result for getsockopt(IPV6_FLOWINFO), sometimes
not.
This patch add rcv_flowinfo to store it, and return it to
the userspace in the same way than other pkt_options.

Brett Ciphery reported that new ipv6 addresses failed to get installed
because the addrconf generated dsts where counted against the dst gc
limit. We don't need to count those routes like we currently don't count
administratively added routes.
Because the max_addresses check enforces a limit on unbounded address
generation first in case someone plays with router advertisments, we
are still safe here.

Creating an address with this flag set will result in kernel taking care
of temporary addresses in the same way as if the address was created by
kernel itself (after RA receive). This allows userspace applications
implementing the autoconfiguration (NetworkManager for example) to
implement ipv6 addresses privacy.

The behaviour of blackhole and prohibit routes has been corrected by setting
the input and output pointers of the dst variable appropriately. For
blackhole routes, they are set to dst_discard and to ip6_pkt_discard and
ip6_pkt_discard_out respectively for prohibit routes.

when dealing with a RA message, if accept_ra_defrtr is false,
the kernel will not add the default route, and then deal with
the following route information options. Unfortunately, those
options maybe contain default route, so let's judge the

IPv6 stats are 64 bits and thus are protected with a seqlock. By not
disabling bottom-half we could deadlock here if we don't disable bh and
a softirq reentrantly updates the same mib.

Commit bceaa90240 ("inet: prevent leakage
of uninitialized memory to user in recv syscalls") conditionally updated
addr_len if the msg_name is written to. The recv_error and rxpmtu
functions relied on the recvmsg functions to set up addr_len before.
As this does not happen any more we have to pass addr_len to those
functions as well and set it to the size of the corresponding sockaddr
length.
This broke traceroute and such.

This patch simplifies the checksum verification in tcpX_gro_receive
by reusing the CHECKSUM_COMPLETE code for CHECKSUM_NONE. All it
does for CHECKSUM_NONE is compute the partial checksum and then
treat it as if it came from the hardware (CHECKSUM_COMPLETE).

In some cases we may receive IP packets that are longer than
their stated lengths. Such packets are never merged in GRO.
However, we may end up computing their checksums incorrectly
and end up allowing packets with a bogus checksum enter our
stack with the checksum status set as verified.
Since such packets are rare and not performance-critical, this
patch simply skips the checksum verification for them.

well as cures for problems that have been with us for a much longer
period of time"
1) Johannes Berg noticed two major deficiencies in our genetlink
registration. Some genetlink protocols we passing in constant
counts for their ops array rather than something like
ARRAY_SIZE(ops) or similar. Also, some genetlink protocols were
using fixed IDs for their multicast groups.
We have to retain these fixed IDs to keep existing userland tools
working, but reserve them so that other multicast groups used by
other protocols can not possibly conflict.
In dealing with these two problems, we actually now use less state
management for genetlink operations and multicast groups.
2) When configuring interface hardware timestamping, fix several
drivers that simply do not validate that the hwtstamp_config value
is one the driver actually supports. From Ben Hutchings.
3) Invalid memory references in mwifiex driver, from Amitkumar Karwar.
4) In dev_forward_skb(), set the skb->protocol in the right order
relative to skb_scrub_packet(). From Alexei Starovoitov.
5) Bridge erroneously fails to use the proper wrapper functions to make
calls to netdev_ops->ndo_vlan_rx_{add,kill}_vid. Fix from Toshiaki
Makita.
6) When detaching a bridge port, make sure to flush all VLAN IDs to

7) Put in a compromise for TCP Small Queues so that deep queued devices

Only update *addr_len when we actually fill in sockaddr, otherwise we
can return uninitialized memory from the stack to the caller in the
recvfrom, recvmmsg and recvmsg syscalls. Drop the the (addr_len == NULL)
checks because we only get called with a valid addr_len pointer either
from sock_common_recvmsg or inet_recvmsg.
If a blocking read waits on a socket which is concurrently shut down we
now return zero and set msg_msgnamelen to 0.

When the synproxy_parse_options is called on the client ack the mss
option will not be present. Consequently mss wont be included in the
backend syn packet, which falls back to 536 bytes mss.
Therefore XT_SYNPROXY_OPT_MSS is explicitly flagged when recovering mss
value from cookie.

Bug has been introduced by commit bb8140947a ("ip6tnl: allow to use rtnl ops
on fb tunnel").
When ip6_tunnel.ko is unloaded, FB device is delete by rtnl_link_unregister()
and then we try to use the pointer in ip6_tnl_destroy_tunnels().
Let's add an handler for dellink, which will never remove the FB tunnel. With
this patch it will no more be possible to remove it via 'ip link del ip6tnl0',
but it's safer.
The same fix was already proposed by Willem de Bruijn <willemb@google.com> for
sit interfaces.

When a link local address was added to a sit interface, the corresponding route
was not configured. This breaks routing protocols that use the link local
address, like OSPFv3.
To ease the code reading, I remove sit_route_add(), which only adds v4 mapped
routes, and add this kind of route directly in sit_add_v4_addrs(). Thus link
local and v4 mapped routes are configured in the same place.

When the local IPv4 endpoint is wilcard (0.0.0.0), the prefix length is
correctly set, ie 64 if the address is a link local one or 96 if the address is
a v4 mapped one.
But when the local endpoint is specified, the prefix length is set to 128 for
both kind of address. This patch fix this wrong prefix length.

Bug: The fallback device is created in sit_init_net and assumed to be
freed in sit_exit_net. First, it is dereferenced in that function, in
sit_destroy_tunnels:

Prior to this, rtnl_unlink_register has removed all devices that match
rtnl_link_ops == sit_link_ops.
Commit 205983c437 added the line
+ sitn->fb_tunnel_dev->rtnl_link_ops = &sit_link_ops;
which cases the fallback device to match here and be freed before it
is last dereferenced.
Fix: This commit adds an explicit .delllink callback to sit_link_ops
that skips deallocation at rtnl_unlink_register for the fallback
device. This mechanism is comparable to the one in ip_tunnel.
It also modifies sit_destroy_tunnels and its only caller sit_exit_net
to avoid the offending dereference in the first place. That double
lookup is more complicated than required.
Test: The bug is only triggered when CONFIG_NET_NS is enabled. It
causes a GPF only when CONFIG_DEBUG_SLAB is enabled. Verified that
this bug exists at the mentioned commit, at davem-net HEAD and at
3.11.y HEAD. Verified that it went away after applying this patch.

Pushing original fragments through causes several problems. For example
for matching, frags may not be matched correctly. Take following
example:

and on HOSTB you do:
ping6 HOSTA -s2000 (MTU is 1500)
Incoming echo requests will be filtered out on HOSTA. This issue does
not occur with smaller packets than MTU (where fragmentation does not happen)

As was discussed previously, the only correct solution seems to be to use
reassembled skb instead of separete frags. Doing this has positive side
effects in reducing sk_buff by one pointer (nfct_reasm) and also the reams
dances in ipvs and conntrack can be removed.
Future plan is to remove net/ipv6/netfilter/nf_conntrack_reasm.c
entirely and use code in net/ipv6/reassembly.c instead.

If reassembled packet would fit into outdev MTU, it is not fragmented
according the original frag size and it is send as single big packet.
The second case is if skb is gso. In that case fragmentation does not happen
according to the original frag size.
This patch fixes these.

As the rfc 4191 said, the Router Preference and Lifetime values in a
::/0 Route Information Option should override the preference and lifetime
values in the Router Advertisement header. But when the kernel deals with
a ::/0 Route Information Option, the rt6_get_route_info() always return
NULL, that means that overriding will not happen, because those default
routers were added without flag RTF_ROUTEINFO in rt6_add_dflt_router().
In order to deal with that condition, we should call rt6_get_dflt_router
when the prefix length is 0.

If the last RFC 6437 does not give any constraints
for lifetime of flow labels, the previous RFC 3697
spoke of a minimum of 120 seconds between
reattribution of a flow label.
The maximum linger is currently set to 60 seconds
and does not allow this configuration without
CAP_NET_ADMIN right.
This patch increase the maximum linger to 150
seconds, allowing more flexibility to standard
users.

It is already possible to set/put/renew a label
with IPV6_FLOWLABEL_MGR and setsockopt. This patch
add the possibility to get information about this
label (current value, time before expiration, etc).
It helps application to take decision for a renew
or a release of the label.

In order to enable lockdep on seqcount/seqlock structures, we
must explicitly initialize any locks.
The u64_stats_sync structure, uses a seqcount, and thus we need
to introduce a u64_stats_init() function and use it to initialize
the structure.
This unfortunately adds a lot of fairly trivial initialization code
to a number of drivers. But the benefit of ensuring correctness makes
this worth while.
Because these changes are required for lockdep to be enabled, and the
changes are quite trivial, I've not yet split this patch out into 30-some
separate patches, as I figured it would be better to get the various
maintainers thoughts on how to best merge this change along with
the seqcount lockdep enablement.

Now rt6_alloc_cow() is only called by ip6_pol_route() when
rt->rt6i_flags doesn't contain both RTF_NONEXTHOP and RTF_GATEWAY,
and rt->rt6i_flags hasn't been changed in ip6_rt_copy().
So there is no neccessary to judge whether rt->rt6i_flags contains
RTF_GATEWAY or not.

Commit 1e2bd517c1 ("udp6: Fix udp
fragmentation for tunnel traffic.") changed the calculation if
there is enough space to include a fragment header in the skb from a
skb->mac_header dervived one to skb_headroom. Because we already peeled
off the skb to transport_header this is wrong. Change this back to check
if we have enough room before the mac_header.
This fixes a panic Saran Neti reported. He used the tbf scheduler which
skb_gso_segments the skb. The offsets get negative and we panic in memcpy
because the skb was erroneously not expanded at the head.

The code of flow label in Linux Kernel follows
the rules of RFC 1809 (an informational one) for
conditions on flow label sharing. There rules are
not in the last proposed standard for flow label
(RFC 6437), or in the previous one (RFC 3697).
Since this code does not follow any current or
old standard, we can remove it.
With this removal, the ipv6_opt_cmp function is
now a dead code and it can be removed too.

On some codepaths the skb does not have a dst entry
when xfrm_decode_session() is called. So check for
a valid skb_dst() before dereferencing the device
interface index. We use 0 as the device index if
there is no valid skb_dst(), or at reverse decoding
we use skb_iif as device interface index.

After reading the function rt6_check_neigh(), we can
know that the RT6_NUD_FAIL_SOFT can be returned only
when the IS_ENABLE(CONFIG_IPV6_ROUTER_PREF) is false.
so in function find_match(), there is no need to execute
the statement !IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_IPV6_ROUTER_PREF).

With the removal of the routing cache, we lost the
option to tweak the garbage collector threshold
along with the maximum routing cache size. So git
commit 703fb94ec ("xfrm: Fix the gc threshold value
for ipv4") moved back to a static threshold.
It turned out that the current threshold before we
start garbage collecting is much to small for some
workloads, so increase it from 1024 to 32768. This
means that we start the garbage collector if we have
more than 32768 dst entries in the system and refuse
new allocations if we are above 65536.

On receiving a packet too big icmp error we check if our current cached
dst_entry in the socket is still valid. This validation check did not
care about the expiration of the (cached) route.
The error path I traced down:
The socket receives a packet too big mtu notification. It still has a
valid dst_entry and thus issues the ip6_rt_pmtu_update on this dst_entry,
setting RTF_EXPIRE and updates the dst.expiration value (which could
fail because of not up-to-date expiration values, see previous patch).
In some seldom cases we race with a) the ip6_fib gc or b) another routing
lookup which would result in a recreation of the cached rt6_info from its
parent non-cached rt6_info. While copying the rt6_info we reinitialize the
metrics store by copying it over from the parent thus invalidating the
just installed pmtu update (both dsts use the same key to the inetpeer
storage). The dst_entry with the just invalidated metrics data would
just get its RTF_EXPIRES flag cleared and would continue to stay valid
for the socket.
We should have not issued the pmtu update on the already expired dst_entry
in the first placed. By checking the expiration on the dst entry and
doing a relookup in case it is out of date we close the race because
we would install a new rt6_info into the fib before we issue the pmtu
update, thus closing this race.
Not reliably updating the dst.expire value was fixed by the patch "ipv6:
reset dst.expires value when clearing expire flag".

Defer the fragmentation hash secret initialization for IPv6 like the
previous patch did for IPv4.
Because the netfilter logic reuses the hash secret we have to split it
first. Thus introduce a new nf_hash_frag function which takes care to
seed the hash secret.

This comes about because CPU1 is executing xt_replace_table in response
to a setsockopt syscall, resulting in:

Meanwhile, CPU0 is handling the network receive path and ends up in
ipt_do_table, resulting in:

On weakly ordered memory architectures, the writes to table->private
and newinfo->jumpstack from CPU1 can be observed out of order by CPU0.
Furthermore, on architectures which don't respect ordering of address
dependencies (i.e. Alpha), the reads from CPU0 can also be re-ordered.
This patch adds an smp_wmb() before the assignment to table->private
(which is essentially publishing newinfo) to ensure that all writes to
newinfo will be observed before plugging it into the table structure.
A dependent-read barrier is also added on the consumer sides, to ensure
the same ordering requirements are also respected there.

Routes need to be probed asynchronous otherwise the call stack gets
exhausted when the kernel attemps to deliver another skb inline, like
e.g. xt_TEE does, and we probe at the same time.
We update neigh->updated still at once, otherwise we would send to
many probes.

Make sure rt6i_gateway contains nexthop information in
all routes returned from lookup or when routes are directly
attached to skb for generated ICMP packets.
The effect of this patch should be a faster version of
rt6_nexthop() and the consideration of local addresses as
nexthop.

Initialize the ehash and ipv6_hash_secrets with net_get_random_once.
Each compilation unit gets its own secret now:

if up->pending != 0 dontfrag is left with default value -1. That
causes that application that do:
sendto len>mtu flag MSG_MORE

will receive EMSGSIZE errno as the result of the second sendto.

There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern
in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for
function prototypes.
Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern.
extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as
using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block.

This patch adds the x_tables compatibility layer. This allows you
to use existing x_tables matches and targets from nf_tables.
This compatibility later allows us to use existing matches/targets
for features that are still missing in nf_tables. We can progressively
replace them with native nf_tables extensions. It also provides the
userspace compatibility software that allows you to express the
rule-set using the iptables syntax but using the nf_tables kernel
components.
In order to get this compatibility layer working, I've done the
following things:
* add NFNL_SUBSYS_NFT_COMPAT: this new nfnetlink subsystem is used
to query the x_tables match/target revision, so we don't need to
use the native x_table getsockopt interface.
* emulate xt structures: this required extending the struct nft_pktinfo
to include the fragment offset, which is already obtained from
ip[6]_tables and that is used by some matches/targets.
* add support for default policy to base chains, required to emulate
x_tables.
* add NFTA_CHAIN_USE attribute to obtain the number of references to
chains, required by x_tables emulation.
* add chain packet/byte counters using per-cpu.
* support 32-64 bits compat.

This patch converts built-in tables/chains to chain types that
allows you to deploy customized table and chain configurations from
userspace.
After this patch, you have to specify the chain type when
creating a new chain:
add chain ip filter output { type filter hook input priority 0; }

The existing chain types after this patch are: filter, route and
nat. Note that tables are just containers of chains with no specific
semantics, which is a significant change with regards to iptables.

This patch adds nftables which is the intended successor of iptables.
This packet filtering framework reuses the existing netfilter hooks,
the connection tracking system, the NAT subsystem, the transparent
proxying engine, the logging infrastructure and the userspace packet
queueing facilities.
In a nutshell, nftables provides a pseudo-state machine with 4 general
purpose registers of 128 bits and 1 specific purpose register to store
verdicts. This pseudo-machine comes with an extensible instruction set,
a.k.a. "expressions" in the nftables jargon. The expressions included
in this patch provide the basic functionality, they are:
* bitwise: to perform bitwise operations.
* byteorder: to change from host/network endianess.
* cmp: to compare data with the content of the registers.
* counter: to enable counters on rules.
* ct: to store conntrack keys into register.
* exthdr: to match IPv6 extension headers.
* immediate: to load data into registers.
* limit: to limit matching based on packet rate.
* log: to log packets.
* meta: to match metainformation that usually comes with the skbuff.
* nat: to perform Network Address Translation.
* payload: to fetch data from the packet payload and store it into
registers.
* reject (IPv4 only): to explicitly close connection, eg. TCP RST.
Using this instruction-set, the userspace utility 'nft' can transform
the rules expressed in human-readable text representation (using a
new syntax, inspired by tcpdump) to nftables bytecode.
nftables also inherits the table, chain and rule objects from
iptables, but in a more configurable way, and it also includes the
original datatype-agnostic set infrastructure with mapping support.
This set infrastructure is enhanced in the follow up patch (netfilter:
nf_tables: add netlink set API).

The ip6_tnl.hlen (gre and ipv6 headers length) is independent from the
outgoing interface, so it would be better to initialize it even when no
route is found, otherwise its value will be zero.
While I'm not sure if this could happen in real life, but doing that
will avoid to call the skb_push function with a zero in ip6gre_header
function.

In commit 634fb979e8 ("inet: includes a sock_common in request_sock")
I forgot that the two ports in sock_common do not have same byte order :
skc_dport is __be16 (network order), but skc_num is __u16 (host order)
So sparse complains because ir_loc_port (mapped into skc_num) is
considered as __u16 while it should be __be16
Let rename ir_loc_port to ireq->ir_num (analogy with inet->inet_num),
and perform appropriate htons/ntohs conversions.

TCP listener refactoring, part 5 :
We want to be able to insert request sockets (SYN_RECV) into main
ehash table instead of the per listener hash table to allow RCU
lookups and remove listener lock contention.
This patch includes the needed struct sock_common in front
of struct request_sock
This means there is no more inet6_request_sock IPv6 specific
structure.
Following inet_request_sock fields were renamed as they became
macros to reference fields from struct sock_common.
Prefix ir_ was chosen to avoid name collisions.

loc_addr -> ir_loc_addr
rmt_addr -> ir_rmt_addr
rmt_port -> ir_rmt_port

zero, we generate an async event for every received packet instead
of checking whether a timeout occurred. Fix from Thomas Egerer.
6) Policies need a refcount when the state resolution timer is armed.
Otherwise the timer can fire after the policy is deleted.
7) We might dreference a NULL pointer if the hold_queue is empty,
add a check to avoid this.

TCP listener refactoring, part 4 :
To speed up inet lookups, we moved IPv4 addresses from inet to struct
sock_common
Now is time to do the same for IPv6, because it permits us to have fast
lookups for all kind of sockets, including upcoming SYN_RECV.
Getting IPv6 addresses in TCP lookups currently requires two extra cache
lines, plus a dereference (and memory stall).
inet6_sk(sk) does the dereference of inet_sk(__sk)->pinet6
This patch is way bigger than its IPv4 counter part, because for IPv4,
we could add aliases (inet_daddr, inet_rcv_saddr), while on IPv6,
it's not doable easily.
inet6_sk(sk)->daddr becomes sk->sk_v6_daddr
inet6_sk(sk)->rcv_saddr becomes sk->sk_v6_rcv_saddr
And timewait socket also have tw->tw_v6_daddr & tw->tw_v6_rcv_saddr
at the same offset.
We get rid of INET6_TW_MATCH() as INET6_MATCH() is now the generic
macro.

TCP listener refactoring, part 3 :
Our goal is to hash SYN_RECV sockets into main ehash for fast lookup,
and parallel SYN processing.
Current inet_ehash_bucket contains two chains, one for ESTABLISH (and
friend states) sockets, another for TIME_WAIT sockets only.
As the hash table is sized to get at most one socket per bucket, it
makes little sense to have separate twchain, as it makes the lookup
slightly more complicated, and doubles hash table memory usage.
If we make sure all socket types have the lookup keys at the same
offsets, we can use a generic and faster lookup. It turns out TIME_WAIT
and ESTABLISHED sockets already have common lookup fields for IPv4.
[ INET_TW_MATCH() is no longer needed ]
I'll provide a follow-up to factorize IPv6 lookup as well, to remove
INET6_TW_MATCH()
This way, SYN_RECV pseudo sockets will be supported the same.
A new sock_gen_put() helper is added, doing either a sock_put() or
inet_twsk_put() [ and will support SYN_RECV later ].
Note this helper should only be called in real slow path, when rcu
lookup found a socket that was moved to another identity (freed/reused
immediately), but could eventually be used in other contexts, like
sock_edemux()
