MMIO emulation reads the last instruction executed by the guest
and then emulates. If the guest is running in Little Endian order,
or more generally in a different endian order of the host, the
instruction needs to be byte-swapped before being emulated.
This patch adds a helper routine which tests the endian order of
the host and the guest in order to decide whether a byteswap is
needed or not. It is then used to byteswap the last instruction
of the guest in the endian order of the host before MMIO emulation
is performed.
Finally, kvmppc_handle_load() of kvmppc_handle_store() are modified
to reverse the endianness of the MMIO if required.

This patch fixes the following warning:
warning: (X86_INTEL_MID) selects INTEL_SCU_IPC which has unmet direct dependencies (X86 && X86_PLATFORM_DEVICES && X86_INTEL_MID)
It happens because when selected, X86_INTEL_MID tries to select

When ACPI SLIT table has an I/O locality (i.e. a locality
unique to an I/O device), numa_set_distance() emits this warning
message:
NUMA: Warning: node ids are out of bound, from=-1 to=-1 distance=10
acpi_numa_slit_init() calls numa_set_distance() with
pxm_to_node(), which assumes that all localities have been
parsed with SRAT previously. SRAT does not list I/O localities,
where as SLIT lists all localities including I/Os. Hence,
pxm_to_node() returns NUMA_NO_NODE (-1) for an I/O locality.
I/O localities are not supported and are ignored today, but emitting
such warning message leads to unnecessary confusion.
Change acpi_numa_slit_init() to avoid calling
numa_set_distance() with NUMA_NO_NODE.

There was a large ebizzy performance regression that was
bisected to commit 611ae8e3 (x86/tlb: enable tlb flush range
support for x86). The problem was related to the
tlb_flushall_shift tuning for IvyBridge which was altered. The
problem is that it is not clear if the tuning values for each
CPU family is correct as the methodology used to tune the values
is unclear.
This patch uses a conservative tlb_flushall_shift value for all
CPU families except IvyBridge so the decision can be revisited
if any regression is found as a result of this change.
IvyBridge is an exception as testing with one methodology
determined that the value of 2 is acceptable. Details are in
the changelog for the patch "x86: mm: Change tlb_flushall_shift
for IvyBridge".
One important aspect of this to watch out for is Xen. The
original commit log mentioned large performance gains on Xen.
It's possible Xen is more sensitive to this value if it flushes
small ranges of pages more frequently than workloads on bare
metal typically do.

Ebizzy hits the worst case scenario for TLB range flushing every
time and it shows for these Ivybridge CPUs at least that the
default choice is a poor on. The patch addresses the problem.
Next was a tlbflush microbenchmark written by Alex Shi at
http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=133727348217113 . It
measures access costs while the TLB is being flushed. The
expectation is that if there are always full TLB flushes that
the benchmark would suffer and it benefits from range flushing
There are 320 iterations of the test per thread count. The
number of entries is randomly selected with a min of 1 and max
of 512. To ensure a reasonably even spread of entries, the full
range is broken up into 8 sections and a random number selected
within that section.
iteration 1, random number between 0-64
iteration 2, random number between 64-128 etc
This is still a very weak methodology. When you do not know
what are typical ranges, random is a reasonable choice but it
can be easily argued that the opimisation was for smaller ranges
and an even spread is not representative of any workload that
matters. To improve this, we'd need to know the probability
distribution of TLB flush range sizes for a set of workloads
that are considered "common", build a synthetic trace and feed
that into this benchmark. Even that is not perfect because it
would not account for the time between flushes but there are
limits of what can be reasonably done and still be doing
something useful. If a representative synthetic trace is
provided then this benchmark could be revisited and the shift values retuned.

For both CPUs, average access time is reduced which is good as
this is the benchmark that was used to tune the shift values in
the first place albeit it is now known *how* the benchmark was
used.
The scheduler benchmarks were somewhat inconclusive. They
showed gains and losses and makes me reconsider how stable those
benchmarks really are or if something else might be interfering
with the test results recently.
Network benchmarks were inconclusive. Almost all results were
flat except for netperf-udp tests on the 4 thread machine.
These results were unstable and showed large variations between
reboots. It is unknown if this is a recent problems but I've
noticed before that netperf-udp results tend to vary.
Based on these results, changing the default for Ivybridge seems
like a logical choice.

When choosing between doing an address space or ranged flush,
the x86 implementation of flush_tlb_mm_range takes into account
whether there are any large pages in the range. A per-page
flush typically requires fewer entries than would covered by a
single large page and the check is redundant.
There is one potential exception. THP migration flushes single
THP entries and it conceivably would benefit from flushing a
single entry instead of the mm. However, this flush is after a
THP allocation, copy and page table update potentially with any
other threads serialised behind it. In comparison to that, the
flush is noise. It makes more sense to optimise balancing to
require fewer flushes than to optimise the flush itself.
This patch deletes the redundant huge page check.

need to debug TLB flush related issues? It does not justify

Fix UV call into kgdb to depend only on whether KGDB is defined
and not both KGDB and KDB. This allows the power nmi command to
use the gdb remote connection if enabled. Note new action of
'kgdb' needs to be set as well to indicate user wants to wait
for gdb to be connected. If it's set to 'kdb' then an error
message is displayed if KDB is not configured.
Also note that if both KGDB and KDB are enabled, then the action
of 'kgdb' or 'kdb' has no affect on which is used. See the KGDB

spun only after Jan2014 will have the fix (atleast server

should probably insulate ourselves in case BIOS does not do the

Pull thermal management updates from Zhang Rui:
"This time, the biggest change is the work of representing hardware
thermal properties in device tree infrastructure.
This work includes the introduction of a device tree bindings for
describing the hardware thermal behavior and limits, and also a parser
to read and interpret the data, and build thermal zones and thermal
binding parameters. It also contains three examples on how to use the
new representation on sensor devices, using three different drivers to
accomplish it. One driver is in thermal subsystem, the TI SoC
thermal, and the other two drivers are in hwmon subsystem.
Actually, this would be the first step of the complete work because we
still need to check other potential drivers to be converted and then
validate the proposed API. But the reason why I include it in this
pull request is that, first, this change does not hurt any others
without using this approach, second, the principle and concept of this
change would not break after converting the remaining drivers. BTW,
as you can see, there are several points in this change that do not
belong to thermal subsystem. Because it has been suggested by Guenter
R that in such cases, it is recommended to send the complete series
via one single subsystem.

Pull ACPI and power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"As far as the number of commits goes, the top spot belongs to ACPI
this time with cpufreq in the second position and a handful of PM
core, PNP and cpuidle updates. They are fixes and cleanups mostly, as
usual, with a couple of new features in the mix.
The most visible change is probably that we will create struct
acpi_device objects (visible in sysfs) for all devices represented in
the ACPI tables regardless of their status and there will be a new
sysfs attribute under those objects allowing user space to check that
status via _STA.
Consequently, ACPI device eject or generally hot-removal will not
delete those objects, unless the table containing the corresponding
namespace nodes is unloaded, which is extremely rare. Also ACPI
container hotplug will be handled quite a bit differently and cpufreq
will support CPU boost ("turbo") generically and not only in the
acpi-cpufreq driver.

Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6320/
The kvm_mips_init_shadow_tlb() function is called from
kvm_arch_vcpu_init() and initialises entries 0 to
current_cpu_data.tlbsize-1 of the virtual cpu's shadow_tlb[64] array.
However newer cores with FTLBs can have a tlbsize > 64, for example the
ProAptiv I'm testing on has a total tlbsize of 576. This causes
kvm_mips_init_shadow_tlb() to overflow the shadow_tlb[64] array and
overwrite the comparecount_timer among other things, causing a lock up
when starting a KVM guest.
Aside from kvm_mips_init_shadow_tlb() which only initialises it, the
shadow_tlb[64] array is only actually used by the following functions:
- kvm_shadow_tlb_put() & kvm_shadow_tlb_load()
These are never called. The only call sites are #if 0'd out.
- kvm_mips_dump_shadow_tlbs()
This is never called.
It was originally added for trap & emulate, but turned out to be
unnecessary so it was disabled.
So instead of fixing the shadow_tlb initialisation code, lets just

only functional change here is the removal of broken shadow_tlb

When KVM is enabled and TLB invalidation is supported,
kvm_mips_flush_host_tlb() can cause a machine check exception due to
multiple matching TLB entries. This can occur on shutdown even when KVM
hasn't been actively used.
Commit adb78de9eae8 (MIPS: mm: Move UNIQUE_ENTRYHI macro to a header
file) created a common UNIQUE_ENTRYHI in asm/tlb.h but it didn't update
the copy of UNIQUE_ENTRYHI in kvm_tlb.c to use it.
Commit 36b175451399 (MIPS: tlb: Set the EHINV bit for TLBINVF cores when
invalidating the TLB) later added TLB invalidation (EHINV) support to
the common UNIQUE_ENTRYHI.
Therefore make kvm_tlb.c use the EHINV aware UNIQUE_ENTRYHI
implementation in asm/tlb.h too.

Add MSI chip and MSIX chip definitions.
For MSI, we map the link interrupt to a MSI link IRQ which will
do a second level of dispatch based on the MSI status register.
The MSI chip definitions use the MSI enable register to enable
and disable the MSI irqs.
For MSI-X, we split the 32 available MSI-X vectors across the
four PCIe links (8 each). These PIC interrupts generate an IRQ
per link which uses a second level dispatch as well.
The MSI-X chip definition uses the standard functions to enable
and disable interrupts.

pci 0000:00:0a.3: no compatible bridge window for [io 0x1100-0x110f]
The io resource starting point on Malta was modified by c5de50dada (MIPS:
Malta: Change start address to avoid conflicts.) to avoid conflicts with
ACPI and SMB devices. In fact, that was not needed (and now causing
southbridge ACPI missing) since 166c637075 (PCI: add pci_create_root_bus()
that accepts resource list) and 7c090e5bfa (mips/PCI: convert to
pci_scan_root_bus() for correct root bus resources) had already done the
correct fix.
This patch actually reverts the change made by c5de50dada. And with this
fix, log says:
pci 0000:00:0a.3: quirk: [io 0x1000-0x103f] claimed by PIIX4 ACPI
pci 0000:00:0a.3: quirk: [io 0x1100-0x110f] claimed by PIIX4 SMB

off to be included.

The introduction of percpu offset optimisation through tpidr_el1 in:
Commit id :7158627686f02319c50c8d9d78f75d4c8
"arm64: percpu: implement optimised pcpu access using tpidr_el1"
requires cpu_{suspend/resume} to restore the tpidr_el1 register upon resume
so that percpu variables can be addressed correctly when a CPU comes out
of reset from warm-boot.
This patch fixes cpu_{suspend}/{resume} tpidr_el1 restoration on resume, by
calling the set_my_cpu_offset C API, as it is done on primary and secondary
CPUs on cold boot, so that, even if the register used to store the percpu
offset is changed, the save and restore of general purpose registers does not
have to be updated.

Pull clk framework changes from Mike Turquette:
"The first half of the clk framework pull request is made up almost
entirely of new platform/driver support. There are some conversions
of existing drivers to the common-clock Device Tree binding, and a few
non-critical fixes to the framework.
Due to an entirely unnecessary cyclical dependency with the arm-soc
tree this pull request is broken into two pieces. The second piece
will be sent out after arm-soc sends you the pull request that merged
in core support for the HiSilicon 3620 platform. That same pull
request from arm-soc depends on this pull request to merge in those
HiSilicon bits without causing build failures"

Updates of SoC-near drivers and other driver updates that makes more sense to
take through our tree.
The largest part of this is a conversion of device registration for some
renesas shmobile/sh devices over to use resources. This has required
coordination with the corresponding arch/sh changes, and we've agreed
to merge the arch/sh changes through our tree.
Added in this branch is support for Trusted Foundations secure firmware,
which is what is used on many of the commercial Nvidia Tegra products
that are in the market, including the Nvidia Shield. The code is local
to arch/arm at this time since it's uncertain whether it will be shared
with arm64 longer-term, if needed we will refactor later.
A couple of new RTC drivers used on ARM boards, merged through our tree
on request by the RTC maintainer.
... plus a bunch of smaller updates across the board, gpio conversions
for davinci, etc.

* Removal of legacy OMAP2 platforms over to DT continues, and a handful of old

DT and DT-conversion-related changes for various ARM platforms. Most
of these are to enable various devices on various boards, etc, and not
necessarily worth enumerating.

the system is starting to work fairly well.

"As usual, we have a batch of fixes that weren't considered significant
enough to warrant going into the later -rcs for previous release, so
they are queued up on this branch.
A handful of these are for various DT fixups for Samsung platforms,
and a handful of other minor things.
There are also a couple of stable-marked patches for mvebu -- they
came in quite late and we decided to keep them deferred until the
first -stable release to get more coverage instead of squeezing them
into 3.13"

(b) allow the non-EFI fallback probe into hardcoded physical address

Most of the VM_BUG_ON assertions are performed on a page. Usually, when
one of these assertions fails we'll get a BUG_ON with a call stack and
the registers.
I've recently noticed based on the requests to add a small piece of code
that dumps the page to various VM_BUG_ON sites that the page dump is
quite useful to people debugging issues in mm.
This patch adds a VM_BUG_ON_PAGE(cond, page) which beyond doing what
VM_BUG_ON() does, also dumps the page before executing the actual
BUG_ON.

Without this change we will need to modify the built-in dtb to add bootloader

This patch switches Malta from using the MIPS implementation of early
printk with Malta's prom_putchar to using the generic 8250_early
implementation. This offers a couple of advantages:
- We duplicate less generic code.
- The UART can be initialised rather than being reliant upon
inheriting a valid setup from the bootloader.
The Malta console_config function is extended to initialise the early
console if no earlycon= kernel parameter is provided, inheriting the
modetty0 bootloader environment if present and falling back to a
default 38400n8r setup if not. This matches the behaviour used for the
regular console= parameter.

the interrupt when using the SuperIO UARTs (ttyS0 & ttyS1) but

having done so. If that is not the case then the typical result is that
the system appears to hang once it reaches userland as no output is

This deals with 2 guest features that need enablement in the kvm host:
- transactional execution
- lpp sampling support
In addition there is also a fix to the virtio-ccw guest driver. This will
enable future features
- FIFO event channels. Key advantages: support for over 100,000 events (2^17),
16 different event priorities, improved fairness in event latency through
the use of FIFOs.
- Xen PVH support. "It’s a fully PV kernel mode, running with paravirtualized
disk and network, paravirtualized interrupts and timers, no emulated devices
of any kind (and thus no qemu), no BIOS or legacy boot — but instead of
requiring PV MMU, it uses the HVM hardware extensions to virtualize the
pagetables, as well as system calls and other privileged operations."
(from "The Paravirtualization Spectrum, Part 2: From poles to a spectrum")
Bug-fixes:
- Fixes in balloon driver (refactor and make it work under ARM)
- Allow xenfb to be used in HVM guests.
- Allow xen_platform_pci=0 to work properly.
- Refactors in event channels.

Pull Xen updates from Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk:
"Two major features that Xen community is excited about:
The first is event channel scalability by David Vrabel - we switch
over from an two-level per-cpu bitmap of events (IRQs) - to an FIFO
queue with priorities. This lets us be able to handle more events,
have lower latency, and better scalability. Good stuff.
The other is PVH by Mukesh Rathor. In short, PV is a mode where the
kernel lets the hypervisor program page-tables, segments, etc. With
EPT/NPT capabilities in current processors, the overhead of doing this
in an HVM (Hardware Virtual Machine) container is much lower than the
hypervisor doing it for us.
In short we let a PV guest run without doing page-table, segment,
syscall, etc updates through the hypervisor - instead it is all done
within the guest container. It is a "hybrid" PV - hence the 'PVH'
name - a PV guest within an HVM container.
The major benefits are less code to deal with - for example we only
use one function from the the pv_mmu_ops (which has 39 function
calls); faster performance for syscall (no context switches into the
hypervisor); less traps on various operations; etc.
It is still being baked - the ABI is not yet set in stone. But it is
pretty awesome and we are excited about it.
Lastly, there are some changes to ARM code - you should get a simple
conflict which has been resolved in #linux-next.
In short, this pull has awesome features.
Features:
- FIFO event channels. Key advantages: support for over 100,000
events (2^17), 16 different event priorities, improved fairness in
event latency through the use of FIFOs.
- Xen PVH support. "It’s a fully PV kernel mode, running with

the compat no-op stubs. Introducing new users is not what we want to

This also fixes an out of sync __init vs. __cpuinit -- as the former
is real, and the latter is a no-op; hence it would have been a section

"MIPS: Malta: Fix interupt number of CBUS UART"
fixed the IRQ number for the ttyS2 CBUS UART. However, this now
conflicts with the GIC IPI1 interrupt in CMP platforms. The Malta
interrupt code arbitrarily binds IPIs to INT2 and INT3 and since
ttyS2 uses the INT2 IRQ line, closing the device disables the
INT2 interrupt and this effectively disables the IPI1 interrupt
as well. This patch is mainly a workaround until the Malta code
is fixed properly.

The BCM47XX SoC code missed a cpu-feature-overrides.h header file, this
patch adds it. This code supports a long line of SoCs with different
features so for some features we still have to rely on the runtime
detection.
This was crated by checking the features of a BCM4712, BCM4704,
BCM5354, BCM4716 and BCM4706 SoC and then tested on these SoCs. There
are some SoCs missing but I hope they do not have any more or less

If get_fs() == USER_DS we better test if current->mm is not zero before

The page table walk code would try to lock mm->page_table_lock, however
if mm is zero this might crash.
Now it is arguably incorrect trying to access userspace if current->mm
is zero, however we have seen that and s390 would be the only architecture
which would crash in such a case.

Introduce memblock memory allocation APIs which allow to support PAE or
LPAE extension on 32 bits archs where the physical memory start address
can be beyond 4GB. In such cases, existing bootmem APIs which operate
on 32 bit addresses won't work and needs memblock layer which operates
on 64 bit addresses.
So we add equivalent APIs so that we can replace usage of bootmem with
memblock interfaces. Architectures already converted to NO_BOOTMEM use
these new memblock interfaces. The architectures which are still not
converted to NO_BOOTMEM continue to function as is because we still
maintain the fal lback option of bootmem back-end supporting these new
interfaces. So no functional change as such.
In long run, once all the architectures moves to NO_BOOTMEM, we can get
rid of bootmem layer completely. This is one step to remove the core
code dependency with bootmem and also gives path for architectures to
move away from bootmem.
The proposed interface will became active if both CONFIG_HAVE_MEMBLOCK
and CONFIG_NO_BOOTMEM are specified by arch. In case
!CONFIG_NO_BOOTMEM, the memblock() wrappers will fallback to the
existing bootmem apis so that arch's not converted to NO_BOOTMEM
continue to work as is.
The meaning of MEMBLOCK_ALLOC_ACCESSIBLE and MEMBLOCK_ALLOC_ANYWHERE
is kept same.

Commit 4b59e6c473 ("mm, show_mem: suppress page counts in
non-blockable contexts") introduced SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT to
suppress PFN walks on large memory machines. Commit c78e93630d ("mm:
do not walk all of system memory during show_mem") avoided a PFN walk in
the generic show_mem helper which removes the requirement for
SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT in that case.
This patch removes PFN walkers from the arch-specific implementations
that report on a per-node or per-zone granularity. ARM and unicore32
still do a PFN walk as they report memory usage on each bank which is a
much finer granularity where the debugging information may still be of
use. As the remaining arches doing PFN walks have relatively small
amounts of memory, this patch simply removes SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT.

It was holiday season, so no wonder that there are little changes in
framework level, although diffstat shows quite many changes spreaded
over sound/* directories. Most of changes are cleanups, code
refactoring and fixes.
Some highlights:
- Removal of OSS sleep_on usages by Arnd
- Simplified memalloc helper codes, drop obsoleted features;
now it's built into PCM driver instead of an individual module
- Warn if PCM buffer preallocation fails, which will show page
allocation issues more clearly
- Compress offload API updates for sample rates by Vinod
- PCM glitch workaround on ctxfi emu20k1 by Sarah
- Drop cs46xx DSP blobs, using firmware loader now
- USB-audio quitks for Plantronics Gamecom 780, Creative VF0420,
and Focusrite Saffire 6
HD-audio specifics:
- Standardize Kconfigs of HD-audio codec drivers;
now "make localmodconfig" recognizes configs properly (finally!)
- Parallel PM implementation by Mengdong
- BayleyBay/ValleyView2 board fixups
- Broadwell audio support
- Runtime PM improvement (PantherPoint, etc)
- Quirks: Dell subwooer, Gigabyte mobo jack detection oddity,
Dell AiO click noise fixes, Dell headset mic fixes, etc
- Automatic bind with HDMI codec parser without generic parser
- More AD codec fixes (since 3.12 regression) including the automatic
stereo mix support
- Common Thinkpad ACPI helper for Realtek and Conexant codecs
ASoC specifics:
- Update to the generic DMA code to support deferred probe and managed
resources
- New drivers for BCM2835 (used in Raspberry Pi), Tegra with MAX98090
and Analog Devices AXI I2S and S/PDIF controller IPs
- Device tree support for the simple card, max98090 and cs42l52
- Conversion of the Samsung drivers to native dmaengine, making them
multiplatform compatible and hopefully helping keep them more modern
and up to date.
- More regmap conversions, including a very welcome one for twl6040

otherwise we will get for some user-space applications
that use 'clone' with CLONE_CHILD_SETTID | CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID

general protection ip:7f80720d364c sp:7fff98fd8a80 error:0 in
libc-2.13.so[7f807209e000+180000]
This is due to the nature of said operations which sets and clears
the PID. "In the successful one I can see that the page table of
the parent process has been updated successfully to use a
different physical page, so the write of the tid on
that page only affects the child...
On the other hand, in the failed case, the write seems to happen before
the copy of the original page is done, so both the parent and the child
end up with the same value (because the parent copies the page after
the write of the child tid has already happened)."
(Roger's analysis). The nature of this is due to the Xen's commit
of 51e2cac257ec8b4080d89f0855c498cbbd76a5e5
"x86/pvh: set only minimal cr0 and cr4 flags in order to use paging"
the CR0_WP was removed so COW features of the Linux kernel were not
operating properly.
While doing that also update the rest of the CR0 flags to be inline
with what a baremetal Linux kernel would set them to.
In 'secondary_startup_64' (baremetal Linux) sets:
X86_CR0_PE | X86_CR0_MP | X86_CR0_ET | X86_CR0_NE | X86_CR0_WP |
X86_CR0_AM | X86_CR0_PG
The hypervisor for HVM type guests (which PVH is a bit) sets:
X86_CR0_PE | X86_CR0_ET | X86_CR0_TS
For PVH it specifically sets:
X86_CR0_PG
Which means we need to set the rest: X86_CR0_MP | X86_CR0_NE |
X86_CR0_WP | X86_CR0_AM to have full parity.

A big set this merge window, as we have much going on in
this subsystem. Major changes this time:
- Some core improvements and cleanups to the new GPIO
descriptor API. This seems to be working now so we can
start the exodus to this API, moving gradually away from
the global GPIO numberspace.
- Incremental improvements to the ACPI GPIO core, and move
the few GPIO ACPI clients we have to the GPIO descriptor
API right *now* before we go any further. We actually
managed to contain this *before* we started to litter
the kernel with yet another hackish global numberspace for
the ACPI GPIOs, which is a big win.
- The RFkill GPIO driver and all platforms using it have
been migrated to use the GPIO descriptors rather than
fixed number assignments. Tegra machine has been migrated
as part of this.
- New drivers for MOXA ART, Xtensa GPIO32 and SMSC SCH311x.
Those should be really good examples of how I expect a
nice GPIO driver to look these days.
- Do away with custom GPIO implementations on a major
part of the ARM machines: ks8695, lpc32xx, mv78xx0.
Make a first step towards the same in the horribly
convoluted Samsung S3C include forest. We expect to
continue to clean this up as we move forward.
- Flag GPIO lines used for IRQ on adnp, bcm-kona, em,
intel-mid and lynxpoint.
This makes the GPIOlib core aware that a certain GPIO line
is used for IRQs and can then enforce some semantics such
as disallowing a GPIO line marked as in use for IRQ to be
switched to output mode.
- Drop all use of irq_set_chip_and_handler_name().
The name provided in these cases were just unhelpful
tags like "mux" or "demux".
- Extend the MCP23s08 driver to handle interrupts.
- Minor incremental improvements for rcar, lynxpoint, em
74x164 and msm drivers.
- Some non-urgent bug fixes here and there, duplicate
#includes and that usual kind of cleanups.

Merge tag 'gpio-v3.14-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio
Pull GPIO tree bulk changes from Linus Walleij:
"A big set this merge window, as we have much going on in this
subsystem. The changes to other subsystems (notably a slew of ARM
machines as I am doing away with their custom APIs) have all been
ACKed to the extent possible.
Major changes this time:
- Some core improvements and cleanups to the new GPIO descriptor API.
This seems to be working now so we can start the exodus to this
API, moving gradually away from the global GPIO numberspace.
- Incremental improvements to the ACPI GPIO core, and move the few
GPIO ACPI clients we have to the GPIO descriptor API right *now*
before we go any further. We actually managed to contain this
*before* we started to litter the kernel with yet another hackish
global numberspace for the ACPI GPIOs, which is a big win.
- The RFkill GPIO driver and all platforms using it have been
migrated to use the GPIO descriptors rather than fixed number
assignments. Tegra machine has been migrated as part of this.

should be really good examples of how I expect a nice GPIO driver

Fix up broken Kconfig file manually to make this all compile.

Although we allow recovery in this case, this is not supposed to be
the normal path for hotplugging a CPU back in. This path only exists
to serve those rare platforms where it's not possible to power down
the CPU or reset the CPU. This patch causes the kernel to print a
message when a platform uses this path.

If the kernel is loaded higher in physical memory than normal, and we
calculate PHYS_OFFSET higher than the start of RAM, this leads to
boot problems as we attempt to map part of this RAM into userspace.
Rather than struggle with this, just truncate the mapping.

This is because it's possible to have ZBOOT_ROM enabled, but at the
same time have another option enabled which selects AUTO_ZRELADDR
overriding the !ZBOOT_ROM dependency. Fix this by reversing the
dependencies between ZBOOT_ROM and the options which depend on
!ZBOOT_ROM.
