It is too expensive to pass u64 values via linked list, instead
allocate array for them by overall number of mac addresses from netdev.
This eventually removes multiple kmalloc() calls, aviod memory
fragmentation and allow to put single null check on kmalloc
return value in order to prevent a potential null pointer dereference.

The ndo_set_rx_mode() is called from atomic context which causes
messages response timeouts while VF to PF communication via MSIx.
To get rid of that we're copy passed mc list, parse flags and queue
handling of kernel request to ordered workqueue.

The kernel calls ndo_set_rx_mode() callback from atomic context which
causes messaging timeouts between VF and PF (as they’re implemented via
MSIx). So in order to handle ndo_set_rx_mode() we need to get rid of it.
This commit implements necessary workqueue related structures to let VF
queue kernel request processing in non-atomic context later.

The kernel calls ndo_set_rx_mode() callback supplying it will all necessary
info, such as device state flags, multicast mac addresses list and so on.
Since we have only 128 bits to communicate with PF we need to initiate
several requests to PF with small/short operation each based on input data.
So this commit implements following PF messages codes along with new
data structures for them:
NIC_MBOX_MSG_RESET_XCAST to flush all filters configured for this
particular network interface (VF)
NIC_MBOX_MSG_ADD_MCAST to add new MAC address to DMAC filter registers
for this particular network interface (VF)
NIC_MBOX_MSG_SET_XCAST to apply filtering configuration to filter control
register

The ThunderX NIC could be partitioned to up to 128 VFs and thus
represented to system. Each VF is mapped to pair BGX:LMAC, and each of VF
is configured by kernel individually. Eventually the bunch of VFs could be
mapped onto same pair BGX:LMAC and thus could cause several multicast
filtering configuration requests to LMAC with the same MAC addresses.
This commit is to add ThunderX NIC BGX filtering manipulation routines.

The ThunderX NIC has two Ethernet Interfaces (BGX) each of them could has
up to four Logical MACs configured. Each of BGX has 32 filters to be
configured for filtering ingress packets. The number of filters available
to particular LMAC is from 8 (if we have four LMACs configured per BGX)
up to 32 (in case of only one LMAC is configured per BGX).
At the same time the NIC could present up to 128 VFs to OS as network
interfaces, each of them kernel will configure with set of MAC addresses
for filtering. So to prevent dupes in BGX filter registers from different
network interfaces it is required to cache and track all filter
configuration requests prior to applying them onto BGX filter registers.
This commit is to update LMAC structures with control fields to
allocate/releasing filters tracking list along with implementing
dmac array allocate/release per LMAC.

The ThunderX NIC has set of registers which allows to configure
filter policy for ingress packets. There are three possible regimes
of filtering multicasts, broadcasts and unicasts: accept all, reject all
and accept filter allowed only.
Current implementation has enum with all of them and two generic macro
for enabling filtering et all (CAM_ACCEPT) and enabling/disabling
broadcast packets, which also should be corrected in order to represent
register bits properly. All these values are private for driver and
there is no need to ‘publish’ them via header file.
This commit is to move filtering register manipulation values from
header file into source with explicit assignment of exact register
values to them to be used while register configuring.

This commit has fix for RX traffic issues when we stress test the driver
with continuous ifconfig up/down under very high traffic conditions.
Reason for the issue is that, in existing liquidio_stop function NAPI is
disabled even before actual FW/HW interface is brought down via
send_rx_ctrl_cmd(lio, 0). Between time frame of NAPI disable and actual
interface down in firmware, firmware continuously enqueues rx traffic to
host. When interrupt happens for new packets, host irq handler fails in
scheduling NAPI as the NAPI is already disabled.
After "ifconfig <iface> up", Host re-enables NAPI but cannot schedule it
until it receives another Rx interrupt. Host never receives Rx interrupt as
it never cleared the Rx interrupt it received during interface down
operation. NIC Rx interrupt gets cleared only when Host processes queue and
clears the queue counts. Above anomaly leads to other issues like packet
overflow in FW/HW queues, backpressure.
Fix:
This commit fixes this issue by disabling NAPI only after informing
firmware to stop queueing packets to host via send_rx_ctrl_cmd(lio, 0).
send_rx_ctrl_cmd is not visible in the patch as it is already there in the
code. The DOWN command also waits for any pending packets to be processed
by NAPI so that the deadlock will not occur.

During heavy tx traffic, control messages (sent by liquidio driver to NIC
firmware) sometimes do not get processed in a timely manner. Reason is:
the low-level metadata of control messages and that of egress network
packets indicate that they have the same priority.
Fix it by setting a higher priority for control messages through the new
ctrl_qpg field in the oct_txpciq struct. It is the NIC firmware that does
the actual setting of priority by writing to the new ctrl_qpg field; the
host driver treats that value as opaque and just assigns it to pki_ih3->qpg

This reverts commit aa136d0c82.
As I previously[1] pointed out this implementation of XDP_REDIRECT is
wrong. XDP_REDIRECT is a facility that must work between different
NIC drivers. Another NIC driver can call ndo_xdp_xmit/nicvf_xdp_xmit,
but your driver patch assumes payload data (at top of page) will
contain a queue index and a DMA addr, this is not true and worse will
likely contain garbage.
Given you have not fixed this in due time (just reached v4.16-rc1),
the only option I see is a revert.

The Cavium thunder nicvf driver supports rx/tx rings of up to 65536 entries per.
The number of entires are stored in the q_len member of struct q_desc_mem. The
problem is that q_len being a u16, results in 65536 becoming 0.
In getting pointers to descriptors in the rings, the driver uses q_len minus 1
as a mask after incrementing the pointer, in order to go back to the beginning
and not go past the end of the ring.
With the q_len set to 0 the mask is no longer correct and the driver does go
beyond the end of the ring, causing various ills. Usually the first thing that
shows up is a "NETDEV WATCHDOG: enP2p1s0f1 (nicvf): transmit queue 7 timed out"
warning.
This patch remedies the problem by changing q_len to a u32.

It was found that ethtool provides unexisting module name while
it queries the specified network device for associated driver
information. Then user tries to unload that module by provided
module name and fails.
This happens because ethtool reads value of DRV_NAME macro,
while module name is defined at the driver's Makefile.
This patch is to correct Cavium CN88xx Thunder NIC driver names
(DRV_NAME macro) 'thunder-nicvf' to 'nicvf' and 'thunder-nic'
to 'nicpf', sync bgx and xcv driver names accordingly to their
module names.

pull-request: bpf-next 2018-01-07
The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree.
The main changes are:
1) Add a start of a framework for extending struct xdp_buff without
having the overhead of populating every data at runtime. Idea
is to have a new per-queue struct xdp_rxq_info that holds read
mostly data (currently that is, queue number and a pointer to
the corresponding netdev) which is set up during rxqueue config
time. When a XDP program is invoked, struct xdp_buff holds a
pointer to struct xdp_rxq_info that the BPF program can then
walk. The user facing BPF program that uses struct xdp_md for
context can use these members directly, and the verifier rewrites
context access transparently by walking the xdp_rxq_info and
net_device pointers to load the data, from Jesper.
2) Redo the reporting of offload device information to user space
such that it works in combination with network namespaces. The
latter is reported through a device/inode tuple as similarly
done in other subsystems as well (e.g. perf) in order to identify
the namespace. For this to work, ns_get_path() has been generalized
such that the namespace can be retrieved not only from a specific
task (perf case), but also from a callback where we deduce the
netns (ns_common) from a netdevice. bpftool support using the new
uapi info and extensive test cases for test_offload.py in BPF
selftests have been added as well, from Jakub.
3) Add two bpftool improvements: i) properly report the bpftool
version such that it corresponds to the version from the kernel
source tree. So pick the right linux/version.h from the source
tree instead of the installed one. ii) fix bpftool and also
bpf_jit_disasm build with bintutils >= 2.9. The reason for the
build breakage is that binutils library changed the function
signature to select the disassembler. Given this is needed in
multiple tools, add a proper feature detection to the
tools/build/features infrastructure, from Roman.
4) Implement the BPF syscall command BPF_MAP_GET_NEXT_KEY for the
stacktrace map. It is currently unimplemented, but there are
use cases where user space needs to walk all stacktrace map
entries e.g. for dumping or deleting map entries w/o having to
close and recreate the map. Add BPF selftests along with it,
from Yonghong.
5) Few follow-up cleanups for the bpftool cgroup code: i) rename
the cgroup 'list' command into 'show' as we have it for other
subcommands as well, ii) then alias the 'show' command such that
'list' is accepted which is also common practice in iproute2,
and iii) remove couple of newlines from error messages using
p_err(), from Jakub.
6) Two follow-up cleanups to sockmap code: i) remove the unused
bpf_compute_data_end_sk_skb() function and ii) only build the
sockmap infrastructure when CONFIG_INET is enabled since it's
only aware of TCP sockets at this time, from John.

This driver uses a bool scheme for "enable"/"disable" when setting up
different resources. Thus, the hook points for xdp_rxq_info is done
in the same function call nicvf_rcv_queue_config(). This is activated
through enable/disable via nicvf_config_data_transfer(), which is tied
into nicvf_stop()/nicvf_open().
Extending driver packet handler call-path nicvf_rcv_pkt_handler() with
a pointer to the given struct rcv_queue, in-order to access the
xdp_rxq_info data area (in nicvf_xdp_rx()).
V2: Driver have no proper error path for failed XDP RX-queue info reg,

Offload IP header checksum to NIC.
This fixes a previous patch which disabled checksum offloading
for both IPv4 and IPv6 packets. So L3 checksum offload was
getting disabled for IPv4 pkts. And HW is dropping these pkts
for some reason.
Without this patch, IPv4 TSO appears to be broken:
WIthout this patch I get ~16kbyte/s, with patch close to 2mbyte/s
when copying files via scp from test box to my home workstation.
Looking at tcpdump on sender it looks like hardware drops IPv4 TSO skbs.
This patch restores performance for me, ipv6 looks good too.

on T81 there are only 4 cores, hence setting max queue count to 4
would leave nothing for XDP_TX. This patch fixes this by doubling
max queue count in above scenarios.
