Each iteration of for_each_available_child_of_node puts the previous
node, but in the case of a return or break from the middle of the loop,
there is no put, thus causing a memory leak.
Hence, for function cpsw_probe_dt, create an extra label err_node_put
that puts the last used node and returns ret; modify the return
statements in the loop to save the return value in ret and goto this new
label.
For function cpsw_remove_dt, add an of_node_put before the break.

Here is the "big" driver core and debugfs changes for 5.3-rc1
It's a lot of different patches, all across the tree due to some api
changes and lots of debugfs cleanups. Because of this, there is going
to be some merge issues with your tree at the moment, I'll follow up
with the expected resolutions to make it easier for you.
Other than the debugfs cleanups, in this set of changes we have:
- bus iteration function cleanups (will cause build warnings
with s390 and coresight drivers in your tree)
- scripts/get_abi.pl tool to display and parse Documentation/ABI
entries in a simple way
- cleanups to Documenatation/ABI/ entries to make them parse
easier due to typos and other minor things
- default_attrs use for some ktype users
- driver model documentation file conversions to .rst
- compressed firmware file loading
- deferred probe fixes
All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with a bunch of merge
issues that Stephen has been patient with me for. Other than the merge
issues, functionality is working properly in linux-next :)

Add XDP support based on rx page_pool allocator, one frame per page.
Page pool allocator is used with assumption that only one rx_handler
is running simultaneously. DMA map/unmap is reused from page pool
despite there is no need to map whole page.
Due to specific of cpsw, the same TX/RX handler can be used by 2
network devices, so special fields in buffer are added to identify
an interface the frame is destined to. Thus XDP works for both
interfaces, that allows to test xdp redirect between two interfaces
easily. Also, each rx queue have own page pools, but common for both
netdevs.
XDP prog is common for all channels till appropriate changes are added
in XDP infrastructure. Also, once page_pool recycling becomes part of
skb netstack some simplifications can be added, like removing
page_pool_release_page() before skb receive.
In order to keep rx_dev while redirect, that can be somehow used in
future, do flush in rx_handler, that allows to keep rx dev the same
while redirect. It allows to conform with tracing rx_dev pointed
by Jesper.
Also, there is probability, that XDP generic code can be extended to
support multi ndev drivers like this one, using same rx queue for
several ndevs, based on switchdev for instance or else. In this case,
driver can be modified like exposed here:

There is an arbitrary difference between the prototypes of
bus_find_device() and class_find_device() preventing their callers
from passing the same pair of data and match() arguments to both of
them, which is the const qualifier used in the prototype of
class_find_device(). If that qualifier is also used in the
bus_find_device() prototype, it will be possible to pass the same
match() callback function to both bus_find_device() and
class_find_device(), which will allow some optimizations to be made in
order to avoid code duplication going forward. Also with that, constify
the "data" parameter as it is passed as a const to the match function.
For this reason, change the prototype of bus_find_device() to match
the prototype of class_find_device() and adjust its callers to use the
const qualifier in accordance with the new prototype of it.

While data pass suspend, reuse of rx descriptors can be disabled using
channel state & lock from cpdma layer. For this, submit to a channel
has to be disabled using state != "not active" under lock, what is done
with this patch. The same submit is used to fill rx channel while
ndo_open, when channel is idled, so add idled submit routine that
allows to prepare descs for the channel. All this simplifies code and
helps to avoid dormant mode usage and send packets only to active
channels, avoiding potential race in later on changes. Also add missed
sync barrier analogically like in other places after stopping tx
queues.

Each slave has it's own receive timestamp filter. But cpts rx/tx
timestamp enable flags are used to allow ts retrieve only for one
user. This limitation causes data path redundancy and setting overlap
if cpsw module is in dual-mac mode for instance.
If rx ts is enabled only for one port - the second interface must expect
every incoming packet to be PTP packet w/o absolutely any reason, and if
it's PTP - do unneeded stuff, as rx filter for second port is not set
and cpts fifo is not supposed to contain appropriate ts event.
That's not correct.
So, to fix control overlap and avoid redundant CPU cycles, the patch
splits rx/tx ts enable flags between network devices. After the patch,
PTP timestamping still should be used for only one port (or PTP id
counter has to be different for both ports as cpts IP is common).

The overflow event is running with 1 jiffy in case if txq is not
empty, but it can be emptied completely only if next tx event
consumes skb or deletes staled skb from the txq. In case of staled
skb, that can happen for some unpredictable reason (the ts event was
lost or timed out), the overflow event can be generated quite long
time consuming CPU w/o reason before next tx event happens. To avoid
it, purge txq before increasing overflow event rate.

At this moment, mcast addresses are added for real device only
(reserved vlans for dual-emac mode), even if a mcast address was added
for some vlan only, thus ALE doesn't have corresponding vlan mcast
entries after vlan socket joined multicast group. So ALE drops vlan
frames with mcast addresses intended for vlans and potentially can
receive mcast frames for base ndev. That's not correct. So, fix it by
creating only vlan/mcast entries as requested. Patch doesn't use any
additional lists and is based on device mc address list and cpsw ALE
table entries.

After flushing all mcast entries from the table, the ones contained in
mc list of ndev are not restored when promisc mode is toggled off,
because they are considered as synched with ALE, thus, in order to
restore them after promisc mode - reset syncing info. This fix
touches only switch mode devices, including single port boards

In dual-emac mode the cpsw driver sends directed packets, that means
that packets go to the directed port, but an ALE lookup is performed
to determine untagged egress only. It means that on tx side no need
to add port bit for ALE mcast entry mask, and basically ALE entry
for port identification is needed only on rx side.
So, add only host port in dual_emac mode as used directed
transmission, and no need in one more port. For single port boards
and switch mode all ports used, as usual, so no changes for them.
Also it simplifies farther changes.
In other words, mcast entries for dual-emac should behave exactly
like unicast. It also can help avoid leaking packets between ports
with same vlan on h/w level if ports could became members of same vid.
So now, for instance, if mcast address 33:33:00:00:00:01 is added then
entries in ALE table:
vid = 1, addr = 33:33:00:00:00:01, port_mask = 0x1
vid = 2, addr = 33:33:00:00:00:01, port_mask = 0x1

The cpsw-phy-sel device is not a child of the cpsw interconnect target
module. It lives in the system control module.
Let's fix this issue by trying to use cpsw-phy-sel phandle first if it
exists and if not fall back to current usage of trying to find the
cpsw-phy-sel child. That way the phy sel driver can be a child of the
system control module where it belongs in the device tree.
Without this fix, we cannot have a proper interconnect target module
hierarchy in device tree for things like genpd.
Note that deferred probe is mostly not supported by cpsw and this patch
does not attempt to fix that. In case deferred probe support is needed,
this could be added to cpsw_slave_open() and phy_connect() so they start
handling and returning errors.
For documenting it, looks like the cpsw-phy-sel is used for all cpsw device
tree nodes. It's missing the related binding documentation, so let's also
update the binding documentation accordingly.

The cpsw has up to 4 FIFOs per port and upper 3 FIFOs can feed rate
limited queue with shaping. In order to set and enable shaping for
those 3 FIFOs queues the network device with CBS qdisc attached is
needed. The CBS configuration is added for dual-emac/single port mode
only, but potentially can be used in switch mode also, based on
switchdev for instance.
Despite the FIFO shapers can work w/o cpdma level shapers the base
usage must be in combine with cpdma level shapers as described in TRM,
that are set as maximum rates for interface queues with sysfs.

\
\ FIFO shaper, set with CBS offload added in this patch,
\ FIFO0 cannot be rate limited
------------------------------------------------------
CBS shaper configuration is supposed to be used with root MQPRIO Qdisc
offload allowing to add sk_prio->tc->txq maps that direct traffic to
appropriate tx queue and maps L2 priority to FIFO shaper.
The CBS shaper is intended to be used for AVB where L2 priority
(pcp field) is used to differentiate class of traffic. So additionally
vlan needs to be created with appropriate egress sk_prio->l2 prio map.
If CBS has several tx queues assigned to it, the sum of their
bandwidth has not overlap bandwidth set for CBS. It's recomended the
CBS bandwidth to be a little bit more.
The CBS shaper is configured with CBS qdisc offload interface using tc
tool from iproute2 packet.
For instance:
$ tc qdisc replace dev eth0 handle 100: parent root mqprio num_tc 3 \
map 2 2 1 0 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 queues 1@0 1@1 2@2 hw 1
$ tc -g class show dev eth0
+---(100:ffe2) mqprio
| +---(100:3) mqprio
| +---(100:4) mqprio
|
+---(100:ffe1) mqprio
| +---(100:2) mqprio
|
+---(100:ffe0) mqprio
+---(100:1) mqprio
$ tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 100:1 cbs locredit -1440 \
hicredit 60 sendslope -960000 idleslope 40000 offload 1
$ tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 100:2 cbs locredit -1470 \
hicredit 62 sendslope -980000 idleslope 20000 offload 1
The above code set CBS shapers for tc0 and tc1, for that txq0 and
txq1 is used. Pay attention, the real set bandwidth can differ a bit
due to discreteness of configuration parameters.
Here parameters like locredit, hicredit and sendslope are ignored
internally and are supposed to be set with assumption that maximum
frame size for frame - 1500.
It's supposed that interface speed is not changed while reconnection,
not always is true, so inform user in case speed of interface was
changed, as it can impact on dependent shapers configuration.

That's possible to offload vlan to tc priority mapping with
assumption sk_prio == L2 prio.

$ ethtool -L eth0 rx 1 tx 4
$ qdisc replace dev eth0 handle 100: parent root mqprio num_tc 3 \

|
+---(100:ffe1) mqprio
| +---(100:2) mqprio
|
+---(100:ffe0) mqprio
+---(100:1) mqprio
Here, 100:1 is txq0, 100:2 is txq1, 100:3 is txq2, 100:4 is txq3
txq0 belongs to tc0, txq1 to tc1, txq2 and txq3 to tc2
The offload part only maps L2 prio to classes of traffic, but not
to transmit queues, so to direct traffic to traffic class vlan has
to be created with appropriate egress map.

The cpdma channel highest priority is from hi to lo number.
The driver has limited number of descriptors that are shared between
number of cpdma channels. Number of queues can be tuned with ethtool,
that allows to not spend descriptors on not needed cpdma channels.
In AVB usually only 2 tx queues can be enough with rate limitation.
The rate limitation can be used only for hi priority queues. Thus, to
use only 2 queues the 8 has to be created. It's wasteful.
So, in order to allow using only needed number of rate limited
tx queues, save resources, and be able to set rate limitation for
them, let assign tx cpdma channels in backward order to queues.

In dual_mac mode packets arrived on one port should not be forwarded by
switch hw to another port. Only Linux Host can forward packets between
ports. The below test case (reported in [1]) shows that packet arrived on
one port can be leaked to anoter (reproducible with dual port evms):
- connect port 1 (eth0) to linux Host 0 and run tcpdump or Wireshark
- connect port 2 (eth1) to linux Host 1 with vlan 1 configured
- ping <IPx> from Host 1 through vlan 1 interface.
ARP packets will be seen on Host 0.
Issue happens because dual_mac mode is implemnted using two vlans: 1 (Port
1+Port 0) and 2 (Port 2+Port 0), so there are vlan records created for for
each vlan. By default, the ALE will find valid vlan record in its table
when vlan 1 tagged packet arrived on Port 2 and so forwards packet to all
ports which are vlan 1 members (like Port.
To avoid such behaviorr the ALE VLAN ID Ingress Check need to be enabled
for each external CPSW port (ALE_PORTCTLn.VID_INGRESS_CHECK) so ALE will
drop ingress packets if Rx port is not VLAN member.

The CPDMA_TX_PRIORITY_MAP in real is vlan pcp field priority mapping
register and basically replaces vlan pcp field for tagged packets.
So, set it to be 1:1 mapping. Otherwise, it will cause unexpected
change of egress vlan tagged packets, like prio 2 -> prio 5.

This patch adds support for promiscuous mode in k2g's network
driver. When upper layer instructs to transition from
non-promiscuous mode to promiscuous mode or vice versa
K2G network driver needs to configure ALE accordingly
so that in case of non-promiscuous mode, ALE will not flood
all unicast packets to host port, while in promiscuous
mode, it will pass all received unicast packets to
host port.

Fun set of conflict resolutions here...
For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel
adds. Trivially resolved.
In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the
function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in
'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed.
In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the
'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that
added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied
over here.
The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating
the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst
a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code.
The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial,
the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and
here are their notes:
====================
Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc
branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started
being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial
merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch
and the for-next branch. This merge resolves those conflicts and
provides a unified base upon which ongoing development for 4.17 can
be based.
Conflicts:
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/main.c - Commit 42cea83f95
(IB/mlx5: Fix cleanup order on unload) added to for-rc and
commit b5ca15ad7e (IB/mlx5: Add proper representors support)
add as part of the devel cycle both needed to modify the
init/de-init functions used by mlx5. To support the new
representors, the new functions added by the cleanup patch
needed to be made non-static, and the init/de-init list
added by the representors patch needed to be modified to
match the init/de-init list changes made by the cleanup
patch.
Updates:
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.h - Update function
prototypes added by representors patch to reflect new function
names as changed by cleanup patch
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/ib_rep.c - Update init/de-init
stage list to match new order from cleanup patch

In VLAN_AWARE mode CPSW can insert VLAN header encapsulation word on Host
port 0 egress (RX) before the packet data if RX_VLAN_ENCAP bit is set in
CPSW_CONTROL register. VLAN header encapsulation word has following format:
HDR_PKT_Priority bits 29-31 - Header Packet VLAN prio (Highest prio: 7)
HDR_PKT_CFI bits 28 - Header Packet VLAN CFI bit.
HDR_PKT_Vid bits 27-16 - Header Packet VLAN ID
PKT_Type bits 8-9 - Packet Type. Indicates whether the packet is
VLAN-tagged, priority-tagged, or non-tagged.
00: VLAN-tagged packet
01: Reserved
10: Priority-tagged packet
11: Non-tagged packet
This feature can be used to implement TX VLAN offload in case of
VLAN-tagged packets and to insert VLAN tag in case Non-tagged packet was
received on port with PVID set. As per documentation, CPSW never modifies
packet data on Host egress (RX) and as result, without this feature
enabled, Host port will not be able to receive properly packets which
entered switch non-tagged through external Port with PVID set (when
non-tagged packet forwarded from external Port with PVID set to another
external Port - packet will be VLAN tagged properly).
Implementation details:
- on RX driver will check CPDMA status bit RX_VLAN_ENCAP BIT(19) in CPPI
descriptor to identify when VLAN header encapsulation word is present.
- PKT_Type = 0x01 or 0x02 then ignore VLAN header encapsulation word and
pass packet as is;
- if HDR_PKT_Vid = 0 then ignore VLAN header encapsulation word and pass
packet as is;
- In dual mac mode traffic is separated between ports using default port
vlans, which are not be visible to Host and so should not be reported.
Hence, check for default port vlans in dual mac mode and ignore VLAN header
encapsulation word;
- otherwise fill SKB with VLAN info using __vlan_hwaccel_put_tag();
- PKT_Type = 0x00 (VLAN-tagged) then strip out VLAN header from SKB.

DRA7 TRM[3] 24.11.4.8.7.3.3, in-band mode in EXT_EN(bit18) register is only

cause some networking issues without RGMII mode, such as carrier sense

This patch adds the check mechanism for PHY interface with RGMII interface

It was discovered that simple program which indefinitely sends 200b UDP
packets and runs on TI AM574x SoC (SMP) under RT Kernel triggers network
watchdog timeout in TI CPSW driver (<6 hours run). The network watchdog
timeout is triggered due to race between cpsw_ndo_start_xmit() and
cpsw_tx_handler() [NAPI]
cpsw_ndo_start_xmit()

txq = netdev_get_tx_queue(ndev, q_idx);
netif_tx_stop_queue(txq);

might not be visible to other cpus
}
cpsw_tx_handler()
if (unlikely(netif_tx_queue_stopped(txq)))
netif_tx_wake_queue(txq);
and when it happens ndev TX queue became disabled forever while driver's HW
TX queue is empty.
Fix this, by adding smp_mb__after_atomic() after netif_tx_stop_queue()
calls and double check for free TX descriptors after stopping ndev TX queue
- if there are free TX descriptors wake up ndev TX queue.

As the page free path makes no distinction between cache hot and cold
pages, there is no real useful ordering of pages in the free list that
allocation requests can take advantage of. Juding from the users of
__GFP_COLD, it is likely that a number of them are the result of copying
other sites instead of actually measuring the impact. Remove the
__GFP_COLD parameter which simplifies a number of paths in the page
allocator.
This is potentially controversial but bear in mind that the size of the
per-cpu pagelists versus modern cache sizes means that the whole per-cpu
list can often fit in the L3 cache. Hence, there is only a potential
benefit for microbenchmarks that alloc/free pages in a tight loop. It's
even worse when THP is taken into account which has little or no chance
of getting a cache-hot page as the per-cpu list is bypassed and the
zeroing of multiple pages will thrash the cache anyway.
The truncate microbenchmarks are not shown as this patch affects the
allocation path and not the free path. A page fault microbenchmark was
tested but it showed no sigificant difference which is not surprising
given that the __GFP_COLD branches are a miniscule percentage of the
fault path.

Now CPSW driver configures min eth packet size to 60 octets (ETH_ZLEN)
which works in most of cases, but when port VLAN is configured on some
switch port, it also can be configured to force all egress packets to be
VLAN untagged. And in this case, CPSW driver will pad small packets to 60
octets, but final packet size on port egress can became less than 60 octets
due to VLAN tag removal and packet will be dropped.
Hence, fix it by accounting VLAN header in CPSW min eth packet size. While
here, use proper defines for CPSW_MAX_PACKET_SIZE also, instead of open
coding.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 11139
and resulted in the first patch in this series.
If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

With the low speed Ethernet connection CPDMA notification about packet
processing can be received before CPTS TX timestamp event, which is set
when packet actually left CPSW while cpdma notification is sent when packet
pushed in CPSW fifo. As result, when connection is slow and CPU is fast
enough TX timestamping is not working properly.
Fix it, by introducing TX SKB queue to store PTP SKBs for which Ethernet
Transmit Event hasn't been received yet and then re-check this queue
with new Ethernet Transmit Events by scheduling CPTS overflow
work more often (every 1 jiffies) until TX SKB queue is not empty.
Side effect of this change is:
- User space tools require to take into account possible delay in TX
timestamp processing (for example ptp4l works with tx_timestamp_timeout=400
under net traffic and tx_timestamp_timeout=25 in idle).

There could be significant delay in CPTS work schedule under high system

a) configurations that did not already enable PTP_1588_CLOCK will

b) when cpts support is disabled, the driver crashes. This is a

While the second problem is still being investigated, this modifies

TI's cpsw driver handles both OF and non-OF case for phy
connect. Unfortunately of_phy_connect() returns NULL on
error while phy_connect() returns ERR_PTR().
To handle this, cpsw_slave_open() overrides the return value
from phy_connect() to make it NULL or error.
This leaves a small window, where cpsw_adjust_link() may be
invoked for a slave while slave->phy pointer is temporarily
set to -ENODEV (or some other error) before it is finally set
to NULL.
_cpsw_adjust_link() only handles the NULL case, and an oops
results when ERR_PTR() is seen by it.
Note that cpsw_adjust_link() checks PHY status for each
slave whenever it is invoked. It can so happen that even
though phy_connect() for a given slave returns error,
_cpsw_adjust_link() is still called for that slave because
the link status of another slave changed.
Fix this by using a temporary pointer to store return value

The configurable priority to traffic class mapping and the user specified
queue ranges are used to configure the traffic class, overriding the
hardware defaults when the 'hw' option is set to 0. However, when the 'hw'
option is non-zero, the hardware QOS defaults are used.
This patch makes it so that we can pass the data the user provided to
ndo_setup_tc. This allows us to pull in the queue configuration if the
user requested it as well as any additional hardware offload type
requested by using a value other than 1 for the hw value.
Finally it also provides a means for the device driver to return the level
supported for the offload type via the qopt->hw value. Previously we were
just always assuming the value to be 1, in the future values beyond just 1
may be supported.

correct values by using the new variables added to cpsw_ale structure
and re-used in the macros. The parameter nu_switch_ale is configured by

ALE h/w on newer version of NetCP (K2E/L/G) does provide a ALE_STATUS
register for the size of the ALE Table implemented in h/w. Currently
for example we set ALE Table size to 1024 for NetCP ALE on
K2E even though the ALE Status/Documentation shows it has 8192 entries.
So take advantage of this register to read the size of ALE table supported
and use that value in the driver for the newer version of NetCP ALE.
For NetCP lite, ALE Table size is much less (64) and indicated by a size
of zero in ALE_STATUS. So use that as a default for now. While at it,
also fix the ale table size on 10G switch to 2048 per User guide

In NU Ethernet switch used on some of the Keystone SoCs, there is
separate UNKNOWNVLAN register for membership, unreg mcast flood, reg
mcast flood and force untag egress bits in ALE. So control for these
fields require different address offset, shift and size of field.
As this ALE has the same version number as ALE in CPSW found on other
SoCs, customization based on version number is not possible. So
use a configuration parameter, nu_switch_ale, to identify the ALE
ALE found in NU Switch. Different treatment is needed for NU Switch
ALE due to difference in the ale table bits, separate unknown vlan
registers etc. The register information available in ale_controls,
needs to be updated to support the netcp NU switch h/w. So it is not
constant array any more since it needs to be updated based
on ALE type. The header of the file is also updated to indicate it
supports N port switch ALE, not just 3 port. The version mask is
3 bits in NU Switch ALE vs 8 bits on other ALE types.
While at it, change the debug print to info print so that ALE
version gets displayed in boot log.

The CPDMA uses one pool of descriptors for both RX and TX which by default
split between all channels proportionally depending on total number of
CPDMA channels and number of TX and RX channels. As result, more
descriptors will be consumed by TX path if there are more TX channels and
there is no way now to dedicate more descriptors for RX path.
So, add the ability to re-split CPDMA pool of descriptors between RX and TX
path via ethtool '-G' command wich will allow to configure and fix number
of descriptors used by RX and TX path, which, then, will be split between
RX/TX channels proportionally depending on RX/TX channels number and
weight. ethtool '-G' command will accept only number of RX entries and rest
of descriptors will be arranged for TX automatically.
Command:
ethtool -G <devname> rx <number of descriptors>
defaults and limitations:
- minimum number of rx descriptors is 10% of total number of descriptors in
CPDMA pool
- maximum number of rx descriptors is 90% of total number of descriptors in
CPDMA pool
- by default, descriptors will be split equally between RX/TX path
- any values passed in "tx" parameter will be ignored

The CPSW CPDMA can process buffer descriptors placed as in internal
CPPI RAM as in DDR. This patch adds support in CPSW and CPDMA for
descs_pool_size mudule parameter, which defines total number of CPDMA CPPI
descriptors to be used for both ingress/egress packets processing:
- memory size, required for CPDMA descriptor pool, is calculated basing
on number of descriptors specified by user in descs_pool_size and
CPDMA descriptor size and allocated from coherent memory (CMA area);
- CPDMA descriptor pool will be allocated in DDR if pool memory size >
internal CPPI RAM or use internal CPPI RAM otherwise;
- if descs_pool_size not specified in DT - the default value 256 will
be used which will allow to place CPDMA descriptors pool into the
internal CPPI RAM (current default behaviour);
- CPDMA will ignore descs_pool_size if descs_pool_size = 0 for
backward comaptiobility with davinci_emac.
descs_pool_size is boot time setting and can't be changed once
CPSW/CPDMA is initialized.
