Dan Carpenter 15abefda7f clk: qcom: cleanup some dev_err_probe() calls
The dev_err_probe() function prints an error message if the error
code is not -EPROBE_DEFER.  If we know the error code in is -ENODEV
then there is no reason to check.

Uwe Kleine-König 86881de493 clk: qcom: Simplify usage of dev_err_probe()
dev_err_probe() returns the error code passed as second parameter. Also if

Dmitry Osipenko 4782c0a5dd clk: tegra: Don't deassert reset on enabling clocks
The Tegra clock driver contains legacy code which deasserts hardware reset
when peripheral clocks are enabled. This behaviour comes from a pre-CCF
era of the Tegra drivers. This is unacceptable for modern kernel drivers
which use generic CCF and reset-control APIs because it breaks assumptions
of the drivers about clk/reset sequences and about reset-propagation
delays. Hence remove the awkward legacy behaviour from the clk driver.

In particular PMC driver assumes that hardware blocks remains in reset
while power domain is turning on, but the clk driver deasserts the reset
before power clamp is removed, hence breaking the driver's assumption.

Dmitry Osipenko 78086386b3 clk: tegra: Don't allow zero clock rate for PLLs
Zero clock rate doesn't make sense for PLLs and tegra-clk driver enters
into infinite loop on trying to calculate PLL parameters for zero rate.
Make code to error out if requested rate is zero.

Originally this trouble was found by Robert Yang while he was trying to
bring up upstream kernel on Samsung Galaxy Tab, which happened due to a
bug in Tegra DRM driver that erroneously sets PLL rate to zero. This
issues came over again recently during of kernel bring up on ASUS TF700T.

Dmitry Osipenko 18a6a7150a clk: tegra: Halve SCLK rate on Tegra20
Higher SCLK rates on Tegra20 require high core voltage. The higher
clock rate may have a positive performance effect only for AHB DMA
transfers and AVP CPU, but both aren't used by upstream kernel at all.
Halve SCLK rate on Tegra20 in order to remove the high core voltage
requirement.

Dmitry Osipenko a7196048cd clk: tegra: Ensure that PLLU configuration is applied properly
The PLLU (USB) consists of the PLL configuration itself and configuration
of the PLLU outputs. The PLLU programming is inconsistent on T30 vs T114,
where T114 immediately bails out if PLLU is enabled and T30 re-enables
a potentially already enabled PLL (left after bootloader) and then fully
reprograms it, which could be unsafe to do. The correct way should be to
skip enabling of the PLL if it's already enabled and then apply
configuration to the outputs. This patch doesn't fix any known problems,
it's a minor improvement.

Dmitry Osipenko c592c8a28f clk: tegra: Fix refcounting of gate clocks
The refcounting of the gate clocks has a bug causing the enable_refcnt
to underflow when unused clocks are disabled. This happens because clk
provider erroneously bumps the refcount if clock is enabled at a boot
time, which it shouldn't be doing, and it does this only for the gate
clocks, while peripheral clocks are using the same gate ops and the
peripheral clocks are missing the initial bump. Hence the refcount of
the peripheral clocks is 0 when unused clocks are disabled and then the
counter is decremented further by the gate ops, causing the integer
underflow.

Fix this problem by removing the erroneous bump and by implementing the
disable_unused() callback, which disables the unused gates properly.

The visible effect of the bug is such that the unused clocks are never
gated if a loaded kernel module grabs the unused clocks and starts to use
them. In practice this shouldn't cause any real problems for the drivers
and boards supported by the kernel today.

Kuninori Morimoto 790c06cc5d clk: renesas: r8a77995: Add ZA2 clock
R-Car D3 ZA2 clock is from PLL0D3 or S0,
and it can be controlled by ZA2CKCR.
It is needed for R-Car Sound, but is not used so far.
Using default settings is very enough at this point.
This patch adds it by DEF_FIXED().

Geert Uytterhoeven 682b108ba5 clk: renesas: cpg-mssr: Remove unused [RM]MSTPCR() definitions
The Realtime Module Stop Control Register definitions (RMSTPCR(i)) are
incorrect for i >= 8 on R-Car Gen2 and Gen3.

As these are unused, and not planned to be used, just like the
corresponding Modem Module Stop Control Register definitions (MMSTPCR())
on R-Mobile APE6 (they are intended for the software running on the
Real-Time and Modem CPU cores), they can just be removed.

change in duty-cycle by updating the 'D'. Add the clock ops which would

clk: sunxi-ng: v3s: fix incorrect postdivider on pll-audio
Commit 46060be6d8 ("clk: sunxi-ng: v3s: use sigma-delta modulation for audio-pll")
changed the audio pll on the Allwinner V3s and V3 SoCs to use
sigma-delta modulation. In the process the declaration of fixed postdivider
providing "pll-audio" was adjusted to provide the desired clock rates from
the now sigma-delta modulated pll.
However, while the divider used for calculations by the clock framework
was adjusted the actual divider programmed into the hardware in
sun8i_v3_v3s_ccu_init was left at "divide by four". This broke the
"pll-audio" clock, now only providing quater the expected clock rate.
It would in general be desirable to program the postdivider for
"pll-audio" to four, such that a broader range of frequencies were
available on the pll outputs. But the clock for the integrated codec
"ac-dig" does not feature a mux that allows to select from all pll outputs
as it is just a simple clock gate connected to "pll-audio". Thus we need
to set the postdivider to one to be able to provide the 22.5792MHz and
24.576MHz rates required by the internal sun4i codec.

This patches fixes the incorrect clock rate by forcing the postdivider to
one in sun8i_v3_v3s_ccu_init.

Peter Geis 2f3877d609 clk: rockchip: fix rk3568 cpll clk gate bits
The cpll clk gate bits had an ordering issue. This led to the loss of
the boot sdmmc controller when the gmac was shut down with:
`ip link set eth0 down`
as the cpll_100m was shut off instead of the cpll_62p5.
cpll_62p5, cpll_50m, cpll_25m were all off by one with cpll_100m
misplaced.

Jerome Brunet bc794f8c56 clk: meson: g12a: fix gp0 and hifi ranges
While some SoC samples are able to lock with a PLL factor of 55, others
samples can't. ATM, a minimum of 60 appears to work on all the samples
I have tried.

Even with 60, it sometimes takes a long time for the PLL to eventually
lock. The documentation says that the minimum rate of these PLLs DCO
should be 3GHz, a factor of 125. Let's use that to be on the safe side.

With factor range changed, the PLL seems to lock quickly (enough) so far.
It is still unclear if the range was the only reason for the delay.

Martin Blumenstingl 4cbf0cd6bf clk: meson: pll: switch to determine_rate for the PLL ops
This increases the maxmium supported frequency on 32-bit systems from
2^31 (signed long as used by clk_ops.round_rate, maximum value:
approx. 2.14GHz) to 2^32 (unsigned long as used by
clk_ops.determine_rate, maximum value: approx. 4.29GHz).
On Meson8/8b/8m2 the HDMI PLL and it's OD (post-dividers) are
capable of running at up to 2.97GHz. So switch the divider
implementation in clk-regmap to clk_ops.determine_rate to support these
higher frequencies on 32-bit systems.

unsigned long.  Hence switch the divider clocks on RZ/N1 from the old
.round_rate() callback to the newer .determine_rate() callback, which
does not suffer from this limitation.

Note that range checking is not yet implemented.

Geert Uytterhoeven 3f70795636 clk: renesas: rcar-gen3: Add custom clock for PLLs
Currently the PLLs are modeled as fixed factor clocks, based on initial
settings.  However, enabling CPU boost clock rates requires increasing
the PLL clock rates.

Add a custom clock driver to model the PLL clocks.  This will allow the
Z (CPU) clock driver to request changing the PLL clock rate.

Improve accuracy in the .determine_rate() callback for Z and Z2 clocks
by using rounded divisions.  This is similar to the calculation of rates
and multipliers in the .recalc_rate() resp. set_rate() callbacks.

Sample impact for a few requested clock rates:
  - R-Car H3:
      - Z 500 MHz:	468 MHz => 515 MHz
      - Z2 1000 MHz:	973 MHz => 1011 MHz
  - R-Car M3-W:
      - Z 500 MHz:	422 MHz => 516 MHz
      - Z2 800 MHz:	750 MHz => 788 MHz

cpg_z_clk.mask contains a mask for a 32-bit register.
Hence its size can be reduced from unsigned long to u32.

Tudor Ambarus bb4031b8af clk: Skip clk provider registration when np is NULL
commit 6579c8d97a ("clk: Mark fwnodes when their clock provider is added")
revealed that clk/bcm/clk-raspberrypi.c driver calls
devm_of_clk_add_hw_provider(), with a NULL dev->of_node, which resulted in a
NULL pointer dereference in of_clk_add_hw_provider() when calling
fwnode_dev_initialized().

Returning 0 is reducing the if conditions in driver code and is being
consistent with the CONFIG_OF=n inline stub that returns 0 when CONFIG_OF
is disabled. The downside is that drivers will maybe register clkdev lookups
when they don't need to and waste some memory.

Sergio Paracuellos 48df7a26f4 clk: ralink: add clock driver for mt7621 SoC
The documentation for this SOC only talks about two
registers regarding to the clocks:
* SYSC_REG_CPLL_CLKCFG0 - provides some information about
boostrapped refclock. PLL and dividers used for CPU and some
sort of BUS.
* SYSC_REG_CPLL_CLKCFG1 - a banch of gates to enable/disable
clocks for all or some ip cores.

Looking into driver code, and some openWRT patched there are
another frequencies which are used in some drivers (uart, sd...).
According to all of this information the clock plan for this
SoC is set as follows:
- Main top clock "xtal" from where all the rest of the world is
derived.
- CPU clock "cpu" derived from "xtal" frequencies and a bunch of
register reads and predividers.
- BUS clock "bus" derived from "cpu" and with (cpu / 4) MHz.
- Fixed clocks from "xtal":
    * "50m": 50 MHz.
    * "125m": 125 MHz.
    * "150m": 150 MHz.
    * "250m": 250 MHz.
    * "270m": 270 MHz.

We also have a buch of gate clocks with their parents:

Colin Ian King f6b1340dc7 clk: uniphier: Fix potential infinite loop
The for-loop iterates with a u8 loop counter i and compares this
with the loop upper limit of num_parents that is an int type.
There is a potential infinite loop if num_parents is larger than
the u8 loop counter. Fix this by making the loop counter the same
type as num_parents.  Also make num_parents an unsigned int to
match the return type of the call to clk_hw_get_num_parents.

Pali Rohár e93033aff6 clk: mvebu: armada-37xx-periph: Fix workaround for switching from L1 to L0
When CPU frequency is at 250 MHz and set_rate() is called with 500 MHz (L1)
quickly followed by a call with 1 GHz (L0), the CPU does not necessarily
stay in L1 for at least 20ms as is required by Marvell errata.

This situation happens frequently with the ondemand cpufreq governor and
can be also reproduced with userspace governor. In most cases it causes CPU
to crash.

This change fixes the above issue and ensures that the CPU always stays in
L1 for at least 20ms when switching from any state to L0.

It was observed that the workaround introduced by commit 61c40f35f5
("clk: mvebu: armada-37xx-periph: Fix switching CPU rate from 300Mhz to
1.2GHz") when base CPU frequency is 1.2 GHz is also required when base
CPU frequency is 1 GHz. Otherwise switching CPU frequency directly from
L2 (250 MHz) to L0 (1 GHz) causes a crash.

When base CPU frequency is just 800 MHz no crashed were observed during
switch from L2 to L0.

Sami Tolvanen 4f0f586bf0 treewide: Change list_sort to use const pointers
list_sort() internally casts the comparison function passed to it
to a different type with constant struct list_head pointers, and
uses this pointer to call the functions, which trips indirect call
Control-Flow Integrity (CFI) checking.

Instead of removing the consts, this change defines the
list_cmp_func_t type and changes the comparison function types of
all list_sort() callers to use const pointers, thus avoiding type
mismatches.

ARM SCMI updates for v5.13

The major and big addition this time is to support modularisation of
individual SCMI protocols thus enabling to add support for vendors'
custom SCMI protocol. This changes the interface provided by the SCMI
driver to all the users of SCMI and hence involved changes in various
other subsystem SCMI drivers. The change has been split with a bit of
transient code to preserve bisectability and avoiding one big patch bomb
changing all the users.

This also includes SCMI IIO driver(pulled from IIO tree) and support for
per-cpu DVFS.

Quanyang Wang 394cdb69a3 clk: zynqmp: pll: add set_pll_mode to check condition in zynqmp_pll_enable
If there is a IOCTL_SET_PLL_FRAC_MODE request sent to ATF ever,
we shouldn't skip invoking PM_CLOCK_ENABLE fn even though this
pll has been enabled. In ATF implementation, it will only assign
the mode to the variable (struct pm_pll *)pll->mode when handling
IOCTL_SET_PLL_FRAC_MODE call. Invoking PM_CLOCK_ENABLE can force
ATF send request to PWU to set the pll mode to PLL's register.

There is a scenario that happens in enabling VPLL_INT(clk_id:96):
1) VPLL_INT has been enabled during booting.
2) A driver calls clk_set_rate and according to the rate, the VPLL_INT
   should be set to FRAC mode. Then zynqmp_pll_set_mode is called
   to pass IOCTL_SET_PLL_FRAC_MODE to ATF. Note that at this point
   ATF just stores the mode to a variable.
3) This driver calls clk_prepare_enable and zynqmp_pll_enable is
   called to try to enable VPLL_INT pll. Because of 1), the function
   zynqmp_pll_enable just returns without doing anything after checking
   that this pll has been enabled.

In the scenario above, the pll mode of VPLL_INT will never be set
successfully. So adding set_pll_mode to check condition to fix it.

Dmitry Baryshkov 50ce6826a4 clk: fixed: fix double free in resource managed fixed-factor clock
devm_clk_hw_register_fixed_factor_release(), the release function for
the devm_clk_hw_register_fixed_factor(), calls
clk_hw_unregister_fixed_factor(), which will kfree() the clock. However
after that the devres functions will also kfree the allocated data,
resulting in double free/memory corruption. Just call
clk_hw_unregister() instead, leaving kfree() to devres code.

Paweł Chmiel 34138a59b9 clk: exynos7: Mark aclk_fsys1_200 as critical
This clock must be always enabled to allow access to any registers in
fsys1 CMU. Until proper solution based on runtime PM is applied
(similar to what was done for Exynos5433), mark that clock as critical
so it won't be disabled.

It was observed on Samsung Galaxy S6 device (based on Exynos7420), where
UFS module is probed before pmic used to power that device.
In this case defer probe was happening and that clock was disabled by
UFS driver, causing whole boot to hang on next CMU access.

Richard Zhu 1840518ae7 clk: imx8mp: Remove the none exist pcie clocks
In the i.MX8MP PCIe design, the PCIe PHY REF clock comes from external
OSC or internal system PLL. It is configured in the IOMUX_GPR14 register
directly, and can't be contolled by CCM at all.
Remove the PCIE PHY clock from clock driver to clean up codes.
There is only one PCIe in i.MX8MP, remove the none exist second PCIe
related clocks.
Remove the none exsits clocks IDs together.

Adam Ford 379c9a24cc clk: imx: Fix reparenting of UARTs not associated with stdout
Most if not all i.MX SoC's call a function which enables all UARTS.
This is a problem for users who need to re-parent the clock source,
because any attempt to change the parent results in an busy error
due to the fact that the clocks have been enabled already.

  clk: failed to reparent uart1 to sys_pll1_80m: -16

Instead of pre-initializing all UARTS, scan the device tree to see
which UART clocks are associated to stdout, and only enable those
UART clocks if it's needed early.  This will move initialization of
the remaining clocks until after the parenting of the clocks.

When the clocks are shutdown, this mechanism will also disable any
clocks that were pre-initialized.

Lukasz Bartosik 7045465500 clk: fix invalid usage of list cursor in unregister
Fix invalid usage of a list_for_each_entry cursor in
clk_notifier_unregister(). When list is empty or if the list
is completely traversed (without breaking from the loop on one
of the entries) then the list cursor does not point to a valid
entry and therefore should not be used. The patch fixes a logical
bug that hasn't been seen in pratice however it is analogus
to the bug fixed in clk_notifier_register().

The issue was dicovered when running 5.12-rc1 kernel on x86_64

Geert Uytterhoeven f2fb4fe623 clk: renesas: Zero init clk_init_data
As clk_core_populate_parent_map() checks clk_init_data.num_parents
first, and checks clk_init_data.parent_names[] before
clk_init_data.parent_data[] and clk_init_data.parent_hws[], leaving the
latter uninitialized doesn't do harm for now.  However, it is better to
play it safe, and initialize all clk_init_data structures to zeroes, to
avoid any current and future members containing uninitialized data.

Remove a few explicit zero initializers, which are now superfluous.

Taniya Das e5c359f70e clk: qcom: camcc: Update the clock ops for the SC7180
Some of the RCGs could be always ON from the XO source and could be used
as the clock on signal for the GDSC to be operational. In the cases where
the GDSCs are parked at different source with the source clock disabled,
it could lead to the GDSC to be stuck at ON/OFF during gdsc disable/enable.
Thus park the RCGs at XO during clock disable and update the rcg_ops to
use the shared_ops.

JC Kuo 54443ef6f5 clk: tegra: Add PLLE HW power sequencer control
PLLE has a hardware power sequencer logic which is a state machine
that can power on/off PLLE without any software intervention. The
sequencer has two inputs, one from XUSB UPHY PLL and the other from
SATA UPHY PLL. PLLE provides reference clock to XUSB and SATA UPHY
PLLs. When both of the downstream PLLs are powered-off, PLLE hardware
power sequencer will automatically power off PLLE for power saving.

XUSB and SATA UPHY PLLs also have their own hardware power sequencer
logic. XUSB UPHY PLL is shared between XUSB SuperSpeed ports and PCIE
controllers. The XUSB UPHY PLL hardware power sequencer has inputs
from XUSB and PCIE. When all of the XUSB SuperSpeed ports and PCIE
controllers are in low power state, XUSB UPHY PLL hardware power
sequencer automatically power off PLL and flags idle to PLLE hardware
power sequencer. Similar applies to SATA UPHY PLL.

PLLE hardware power sequencer has to be enabled after both downstream
sequencers are enabled.

This commit adds two helper functions:
1. tegra210_plle_hw_sequence_start() for XUSB PADCTL driver to enable
   PLLE hardware sequencer at proper time.

2. tegra210_plle_hw_sequence_is_enabled() for XUSB PADCTL driver to
   check whether PLLE hardware sequencer has been enabled or not.

Krzysztof Kozlowski 552418658a clk: socfpga: use ARCH_INTEL_SOCFPGA also for 32-bit ARM SoCs (and compile test)
ARCH_SOCFPGA is being renamed to ARCH_INTEL_SOCFPGA so adjust the
32-bit ARM drivers to rely on new symbol.

There is little point to share clock controller drivers between 32-bit
and 64-bit platforms because there will not be a generic image for both
of them.  Therefore add a new Kconfig entry for building 32-bit clock
driverss, similar to one for 64-bit.  This allows enabling compile
testing.

Krzysztof Kozlowski 4a9a1a5602 arm64: socfpga: merge Agilex and N5X into ARCH_INTEL_SOCFPGA
Agilex, N5X and Stratix 10 share all quite similar arm64 hard cores and
SoC-part.  Up to a point that N5X uses the same DTSI as Agilex.  From
the Linux kernel point of view these are flavors of the same
architecture so there is no need for three top-level arm64
architectures.  Simplify this by merging all three architectures into
ARCH_INTEL_SOCFPGA and dropping the other ARCH* arm64 Kconfig entries.

The side effect is that the INTEL_STRATIX10_SERVICE will now be
available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Intel SoCFPGA, even though it is
used only for 64-bit.

On a multiplatform kernel there is little benefit in splitting each
clock driver per platform because space savings are minimal.  Such split
also complicates the code, especially after adding compile testing.

Build all arm64 Intel SoCFPGA clocks together with one entry in
Makefile.  This also removed duplicated line in the Makefile (selecting
common part of clocks per platform).

Krzysztof Kozlowski 3b218baa74 clk: socfpga: allow building N5X clocks with ARCH_N5X
The Intel's eASIC N5X (ARCH_N5X) architecture shares a lot with Agilex
(ARCH_AGILEX) so it uses the same socfpga_agilex.dtsi, with minor
changes.  Also the clock drivers are the same.

However the clock drivers won't be build without ARCH_AGILEX.  One could
assume that ARCH_N5X simply depends on ARCH_AGILEX but this was not
modeled in Kconfig.  In current stage the ARCH_N5X is simply
unbootable.

Add a separate Kconfig entry for clocks used by both ARCH_N5X and
ARCH_AGILEX so the necessary objects will be built if either of them is
selected.

Douglas Anderson 148ddaa89d clk: qcom: gcc-sc7180: Use floor ops for the correct sdcc1 clk
While picking commit a8cd989e1a ("mmc: sdhci-msm: Warn about
overclocking SD/MMC") back to my tree I was surprised that it was
reporting warnings.  I thought I fixed those!  Looking closer at the
fix, I see that I totally bungled it (or at least I halfway bungled
it).  The SD card clock got fixed (and that was the one I was really
focused on fixing), but I totally adjusted the wrong clock for eMMC.
Sigh.  Let's fix my dumb mistake.

Now both SD and eMMC have floor for the "apps" clock.

This doesn't matter a lot for the final clock rate for HS400 eMMC but
could matter if someone happens to put some slower eMMC on a sc7180.
We also transition through some of these lower rates sometimes and
having them wrong could cause problems during these transitions.
These were the messages I was seeing at boot:
  mmc1: Card appears overclocked; req 52000000 Hz, actual 100000000 Hz
  mmc1: Card appears overclocked; req 52000000 Hz, actual 100000000 Hz
  mmc1: Card appears overclocked; req 104000000 Hz, actual 192000000 Hz

Marijn Suijten 0ae67123ea clk: qcom: rcg2: Rectify clk_gfx3d rate rounding without mux division
In case the mux is not divided parent_req was mistakenly not assigned to
leading __clk_determine_rate to determine the best frequency setting for
a requested rate of 0, resulting in the msm8996 platform not booting.
Rectify this by refactoring the logic to unconditionally assign to
parent_req.rate with the clock rate the caller is expecting.
