Tony Lindgren b13a270ace bus: ti-sysc: Use CLKDM_NOAUTO for dra7 dcan1 for errata i893
Commit 94f6345712 ("bus: ti-sysc: Implement quirk handling for
CLKDM_NOAUTO") should have also added the quirk for dra7 dcan1 in
addition to dcan2 for errata i893 handling.

Let's also pass the quirk flag for legacy mode booting for if "ti,hwmods"
dts property is used with related dcan hwmod data. This should be only
needed if anybody needs to git bisect earlier stable trees though.

Saravana Kannan 81967efb5f drivers: bus: Delete CONFIG_SIMPLE_PM_BUS
The simple-pm-bus driver is mandatory for CONFIG_OF based platforms to work
with fw_devlink. So, always compile it in for CONFIG_OF and delete the
config since it's no longer necessary.

Linus Torvalds 634135a07b ARM: SoC updates for 5.15
There are three noteworthy updates for 32-bit arm platforms this time:

  - The Microchip SAMA7 family based on Cortex-A7 gets introduced, a new
cousin to the older SAM9 (ARM9xx based) and SAMA5 (Cortex-A5 based)
    SoCs.

  - The ixp4xx platform (based on Intel XScale) is finally converted to
device tree, and all the old board files are getting removed now.

  - The Cirrus Logic EP93xx platform loses support for the old
MaverickCrunch FPU. Support for compiling user space applications
was already removed in gcc-4.9, and the kernel support for old
applications could not be built with clang ias. After confirming
that there are no remaining users, removing this from the kernel
seemed better than adding support for unused features to clang.

There are minor updates to the aspeed, omap and samsung platforms

Tony Lindgren 093a474ce1 ARM: OMAP2+: Block suspend for am3 and am4 if PM is not configured
If the PM related modules are not loaded and PM firmware not configured,
the system suspend fails to resume. Let's fix this by adding initial
platform_suspend_ops to block suspend and warn about missing modules.

When pm33xx and wkup_m3_ipc have been loaded and m3 coprocessor booted
with it's firmware, pm33xx sets up working platform_suspend_ops. Note
that we need to configure at least PM_SUSPEND_STANDBY to have
suspend_set_ops().

Linus Torvalds 01d7136894 ARM: SoC changes for v5.13
Almost all SoC code changes this time are for the TI OMAP
platform, which continues its decade-long quest to move from
describing a complex SoC in code to device tree.

Aside from this, the Uniphier platform has a new maintainer
and some platforms have minor bugfixes and cleanups that were
 not urgent enough for v5.12.

Aditya Srivastava 7c4a0b3e5c ARM: OMAP2+: fix incorrect kernel-doc comment syntax in file
The opening comment mark '/**' is used for highlighting the beginning of
kernel-doc comments.
The header for arch/arm/mach-omap2/omap_twl.c follows this syntax, but the
content inside does not comply with kernel-doc.

This line was probably not meant for kernel-doc parsing, but is parsed
due to the presence of kernel-doc like comment syntax(i.e, '/**'), which
causes unexpected warning from kernel-doc:
"warning: wrong kernel-doc identifier on line:
 * OMAP and TWL PMIC specific initializations."

Provide a simple fix by replacing this occurrence with general comment
format, i.e. '/*', to prevent kernel-doc from parsing it.

Carlos Leija b3d09a06d8 ARM: OMAP4: PM: update ROM return address for OSWR and OFF
We need to add a dummy smc call to the cpuidle wakeup path to force the
ROM code to save the return address after MMU is enabled again. This is
needed to prevent random hangs on secure devices like droid4.

Otherwise the system will eventually hang when entering deeper SoC idle
states with the core and mpu domains in open-switch retention (OSWR).
The hang happens as the ROM code tries to use the earlier physical return
address set by omap-headsmp.S with MMU off while waking up CPU1 again.

The hangs started happening in theory already with commit caf8c87d7f
("ARM: OMAP2+: Allow core oswr for omap4"), but in practise the issue went
unnoticed as various drivers were often blocking any deeper idle states
with hardware autoidle features.

This patch is based on an earlier TI Linux kernel tree commit 92f0b3028d9e
("OMAP4: PM: update ROM return address for OSWR and OFF") written by
Carlos Leija <cileija@ti.com>, Praneeth Bajjuri <praneeth@ti.com>, and
Bryan Buckley <bryan.buckley@ti.com>. A later version of the patch was
updated to use CPU_PM notifiers by Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>.

Tony Lindgren fbfa463be8 ARM: OMAP2+: Fix smartreflex init regression after dropping legacy data
When I dropped legacy data for omap4 and dra7 smartreflex in favor of
device tree based data, it seems I only testd for the "SmartReflex Class3
initialized" line in dmesg. I missed the fact that there is also
omap_devinit_smartreflex() that happens later, and now it produces an
error on boot for "No Voltage table for the corresponding vdd. Cannot
create debugfs entries for n-values".

This happens as we no longer have the smartreflex instance legacy data,
and have not yet moved completely to device tree based booting for the
driver. Let's fix the issue by changing the smartreflex init to use names.
This should all eventually go away in favor of doing the init in the
driver based on devicetree compatible value.

Note that dra7xx_init_early() is not calling any voltage domain init like
omap54xx_voltagedomains_init(), or a dra7 specific voltagedomains init.
This means that on dra7 smartreflex is still not fully initialized, and
also seems to be missing the related devicetree nodes.

Tony Lindgren eda080eabf drivers: bus: simple-pm-bus: Fix compatibility with simple-bus for auxdata
After converting am335x to probe devices with simple-pm-bus I noticed
that we are not passing auxdata for of_platform_populate() like we do
with simple-bus.

While device tree using SoCs should no longer need platform data, there
are still quite a few drivers that still need it as can be seen with
git grep OF_DEV_AUXDATA. We want to have simple-pm-bus be usable as a
replacement for simple-bus also for cases where OF_DEV_AUXDATA is still
needed.

Let's fix the issue by passing auxdata as platform data to simple-pm-bus.
That way the SoCs needing this can pass the auxdata with OF_DEV_AUXDATA.
And let's pass the auxdata for omaps to fix the issue for am335x.

As an alternative solution, adding simple-pm-bus handling directly to
drivers/of/platform.c was considered, but we would still need simple-pm-bus
device driver. So passing auxdata as platform data seems like the simplest
solution.

We now depend on SIMPLE_PM_BUS for probing devices. While we have it
selected in omap2plus_defconfig, custom configs can fail if it's missing.

As SIMPLE_PM_BUS depends on OF and PM, we must now select PM in Kconfig.
We have already OF selected by ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM.

Tony Lindgren 06862d789d ARM: OMAP2+: Fix suspcious RCU usage splats for omap_enter_idle_coupled
We get suspcious RCU usage splats with cpuidle in several places in
omap_enter_idle_coupled() with the kernel debug options enabled:

RCU used illegally from extended quiescent state!
...
(_raw_spin_lock_irqsave)
(omap_enter_idle_coupled+0x17c/0x2d8)
(omap_enter_idle_coupled)
(cpuidle_enter_state)
(cpuidle_enter_state_coupled)
(cpuidle_enter)

Let's use RCU_NONIDLE to suppress these splats. Things got changed around
with commit 1098582a0f ("sched, idle, rcu: Push rcu_idle deeper into the
idle path") that started triggering these warnings.

For the tick_broadcast related calls, ideally we'd just switch over to
using CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIMER_STOP for omap_enter_idle_coupled() to have the
generic cpuidle code handle the tick_broadcast related calls for us and
then just drop the tick_broadcast calls here.

But we're currently missing the call in the common cpuidle code for
tick_broadcast_enable() that CPU1 hotplug needs as described in earlier
commit 50d6b3cf94 ("ARM: OMAP2+: fix lack of timer interrupts on CPU1
after hotplug").

Linus Torvalds 48c1c40ab4 ARM: SoC drivers for v5.11
There are a couple of subsystems maintained by other people that
merge their drivers through the SoC tree, those changes include:

  - The SCMI firmware framework gains support for sensor notifications
    and for controlling voltage domains.

  - A large update for the Tegra memory controller driver, integrating
it better with the interconnect framework

  - The memory controller subsystem gains support for Mediatek MT8192

  - The reset controller framework gains support for sharing pulsed
    resets

For Soc specific drivers in drivers/soc, the main changes are

  - The Allwinner/sunxi MBUS gets a rework for the way it handles
dma_map_ops and offsets between physical and dma address spaces.

  - An errata fix plus some cleanups for Freescale Layerscape SoCs

  - A cleanup for renesas drivers regarding MMIO accesses.

  - New SoC specific drivers for Mediatek MT8192 and MT8183 power domains

  - New SoC specific drivers for Aspeed AST2600 LPC bus control
    and SoC identification.

  - Core Power Domain support for Qualcomm MSM8916, MSM8939, SDM660
    and SDX55.

  - A rework of the TI AM33xx 'genpd' power domain support to use
information from DT instead of platform data

  - Support for TI AM64x SoCs

  - Allow building some Amlogic drivers as modules instead of built-in

Finally, there are numerous cleanups and smaller bug fixes for
Mediatek, Tegra, Samsung, Qualcomm, TI OMAP, Amlogic, Rockchips,
 Renesas, and Xilinx SoCs.

There is a trivial conflict in the cedrus driver, with two branches
adding the same CEDRUS_CAPABILITY_H265_DEC flag, and another trivial
 remove/remove conflict in linux/dma-mapping.h.

Mike Rapoport 5e545df329 arm: remove CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_HOLES_MEMORYMODEL
ARM is the only architecture that defines CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_HOLES_MEMORYMODEL
which in turn enables memmap_valid_within() function that is intended to
verify existence of struct page associated with a pfn when there are holes
in the memory map.

However, the ARCH_HAS_HOLES_MEMORYMODEL also enables HAVE_ARCH_PFN_VALID
and arch-specific pfn_valid() implementation that also deals with the holes
in the memory map.

The only two users of memmap_valid_within() call this function after
a call to pfn_valid() so the memmap_valid_within() check becomes redundant.

Remove CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_HOLES_MEMORYMODEL and memmap_valid_within() and rely
entirely on ARM's implementation of pfn_valid() that is now enabled
unconditionally.

On the GTA04A5 od->_driver_status was not set to BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVER

Tony Lindgren b62168e516 ARM: OMAP2+: Fix am4 only build after genpd changes
With commit df6c2ec872 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Drop legacy remaining legacy
platform data for am4") we moved am4 to boot with simple-pm-bus using
genpd and devicetree based data. But I forgot to test am4 only build
that still has few references to the old platform data left, and cause
undefined reference errors with omap_hwmod_set_postsetup_state and
omap_hwmod_for_each. We can just drop the related calls for am4 now,
and also drop the references to unused struct wkup_m3_platform_data.

Tony Lindgren 294a3317be ARM: OMAP2+: Manage MPU state properly for omap_enter_idle_coupled()
Based on more testing, commit 8ca5ee624b4c ("ARM: OMAP2+: Restore MPU
power domain if cpu_cluster_pm_enter() fails") is a poor fix for handling
cpu_cluster_pm_enter() returned errors.

We should not override the cpuidle states with a hardcoded PWRDM_POWER_ON
value. Instead, we should use a configured idle state that does not cause
the context to be lost. Otherwise we end up configuring a potentially
improper state for the MPUSS. We also want to update the returned state
index for the selected state.

Let's just select the highest power idle state C1 to ensure no context
loss is allowed on cpu_cluster_pm_enter() errors. With these changes we
can now unconditionally call omap4_enter_lowpower() for WFI like we did
earlier before commit 55be2f5033 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Handle errors for
cpu_pm"). And we can return the selected state index.

Linus Torvalds e731f3146f ARM: SoC platform updates
SoC changes, a substantial part of this is cleanup of some of the older
platforms that used to have a bunch of board files. In particular:

  - Removal of non-DT i.MX platforms that haven't seen activity in years,

  - A bunch of cleanup and removal of platform data for TI/OMAP platforms,
moving over to genpd for power/reset control (yay!)
  - Major cleanup of Samsung S3C24xx and S3C64xx platforms, moving them
closer to multiplatform support (not quite there yet, but getting

THere are a few other changes too, smaller fixlets, etc. For new

  - New SoC: Hisilicon SD5203, ARM926EJ-S platform.

We must re-enable the RTC module clock enabled in RTC+DDR suspend, and
pm33xx has been using platform data callbacks for that. Looks like for

Mike Rapoport ca15ca406f mm: remove unneeded includes of <asm/pgalloc.h>
Patch series "mm: cleanup usage of <asm/pgalloc.h>"

Most architectures have very similar versions of pXd_alloc_one() and
pXd_free_one() for intermediate levels of page table. These patches add
generic versions of these functions in <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> and enable
use of the generic functions where appropriate.

In addition, functions declared and defined in <asm/pgalloc.h> headers are
used mostly by core mm and early mm initialization in arch and there is no
actual reason to have the <asm/pgalloc.h> included all over the place.
The first patch in this series removes unneeded includes of
<asm/pgalloc.h>

In the end it didn't work out as neatly as I hoped and moving
pXd_alloc_track() definitions to <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> would require
unnecessary changes to arches that have custom page table allocations, so
I've decided to move lib/ioremap.c to mm/ and make pgalloc-track.h local
to mm/.

This patch (of 8):

In most cases <asm/pgalloc.h> header is required only for allocations of
page table memory. Most of the .c files that include that header do not
use symbols declared in <asm/pgalloc.h> and do not require that header.

As for the other header files that used to include <asm/pgalloc.h>, it is
possible to move that include into the .c file that actually uses symbols
from <asm/pgalloc.h> and drop the include from the header file.

The process was somewhat automated using

	sed -i -E '/[<"]asm\/pgalloc\.h/d' \
                $(grep -L -w -f /tmp/xx \
                        $(git grep -E -l '[<"]asm/pgalloc\.h'))

where /tmp/xx contains all the symbols defined in
arch/*/include/asm/pgalloc.h.

Linus Torvalds 822ef14e9d ARM: SoC driver updates for v5.9
A couple of subsystems have their own subsystem maintainers but choose
to have the code merged through the soc tree as upstream, as the code
tends to be used across multiple SoCs or has SoC specific drivers itself:

  - memory controllers:
Krzysztof Kozlowski takes ownership of the drivers/memory
subsystem and its drivers, starting out with a set of cleanup
      patches.
A larger driver for the Tegra memory controller that was accidentally
missed for v5.8 is now added.

  - reset controllers:
Only minor updates to drivers/reset this time

  - firmware:
The "turris mox" firmware driver gains support for signed firmware blobs
The tegra firmware driver gets extended to export some debug information
Various updates to i.MX firmware drivers, mostly cosmetic

  - ARM SCMI/SCPI:
A new mechanism for platform notifications is added, among a number
      of minor changes.

  - optee:
Probing of the TEE bus is rewritten to better support detection of
devices that depend on the tee-supplicant user space.
A new firmware based trusted platform module (fTPM) driver is added
      based on OP-TEE

  - SoC attributes:
A new driver is added to provide a generic soc_device for identifying
a machine through the SMCCC ARCH_SOC_ID firmware interface rather than
by probing SoC family specific registers.
The series also contains some cleanups to the common soc_device code.

There are also a number of updates to SoC specific drivers,
 the main ones are:

  - Mediatek cmdq driver gains a few in-kernel interfaces

  - Minor updates to Qualcomm RPMh, socinfo, rpm drivers, mostly adding
    support for additional SoC variants

  - The Qualcomm GENI core code gains interconnect path voting and
performance level support, and integrating this into a number of
    device drivers.

  - A new driver for Samsung Exynos5800 voltage coupler for

  - Renesas RZ/G2H (R8A774E1) SoC support gets added to a couple of SoC
    specific device drivers

  - Updates to the TI K3 Ring Accelerator driver

Linus Torvalds 2f3fbfdaf7 ARM: SoC DT changes for 5.9
As usual, there are many patches addressing minor issues in existing
DTS files, such as DTC warnings, or adding support for additional
 peripherals.

There are three added SoCs in existing product families:

  - Amazon:
     Alpine v3 is a 16-core Cortex-A72 SoC from Amazon's Annapurna Labs,
otherwise known as AL73400 or first-generation Graviton, and following
the already supported Cortex-A1`5 and Cortex-A57 based Alpine chips.
This one is added together with the official Evaluation platform.

  - Qualcomm:
The Snapdragon SDM630 platform is a family of mid-range mobile phone
chips from 2017 based on Cortex-A53 or Kryo 260 CPUs.
A total of five end-user products are added based on these, all
Android phones from Sony: Xperia 10, 10 Plus, XA2, XA2 Plus and
     XA2 Ultra.

  - Renesas:
RZ/G2H (r8a774e1) is currently the top model in the Renesas RZ/G
family, and apparently closely related to the RZ/G2N and RZ/G2M
models we already support but has a faster GPU and additional
     on-chip peripherals.
It is added along with the HopeRun HiHope RZ/G2H development board

A small number of new boards for already supported SoCs also debut:

  - Allwinner sunxi:
Only one new machine, revision v1.2 of the Pine64 PinePhone
(non-Android) smartphone, containing minor changes compared to
     earlier versions.

  - Amlogic Meson:
WeTek Core2 is an Amlogic S912 (GXM) based Set-top-box

  - Aspeed:
EthanolX is AMD's EPYC data center rerence platform, using an
     ASpeed AST2600 baseboard management controller.

  - Mediatek:
Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1" (kukui/krane) is a new Chromebook
based on the MT8183 (Helio P60t) SoC.

  - Nvidia Tegra:
ASUS Google Nexus 7 and Acer Iconia Tab A500 are two Android
tablets from around 2012 using Tegra 3 and Tegra 2, respectively.
Thanks to PostmarketOS, these can now run mainline kernels
     and become useful again.

The Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit uses a SoM and carrier board
for the Tegra194, their latest 64-bit chip based on Carmel CPU
     cores and Volta graphics.

  - NXP i.MX:
Five new boards based on the 32-bit i.MX6 series are added:
The MYiR MYS-6ULX single-board computer, and four different
models of industrial computers from Protonic.

  - Qualcomm:
MikroTik RouterBoard 3011 is a rackmounted router based on the
     32-bit IPQ8064 networking SoC
Three older phones get added, the Snapdragon 808 (msm8992) based
Xiaomi Libra (Mi 4C) and Microsoft Lumia 950, originally running
Windows Phone, and the Snapdragon 810 (msm8994) based Sony
     Xperia Z5.

  - Renesas:
In addition to the HiHope RZ/G2H board mentioned above, we gain
support for board versions 3.0 and 4.0 of the earlier RZ/G2M and
     RZ/G2N reference boards.
Beacon EmbeddedWorks adds another SoM+Carrier development board
     for RZ/G2M.

  - Rockchips:
Radxa Rock Pi N8 development board and the VMARC RK3288 SoM it
is based on, using the high-end 32-bit rk3288 SoC.

Notable updates to existing platforms are usually for added on-chip
 peripherals, including:

  - ASpeed AST2xxx (various)

  - Allwinner (cpufreq, thermal, Pinephone touchscreen)

  - Amlogic Meson (audio, gpu dvdfs, board updates)

the motivation and tried to use it, it was found lot of existing custom
attributes can moved to use it instead of device_create_file.

Though most of these never remove/cleanup the custom attribute as they
never call soc_device_unregister, using these custom attribute group
eliminate the need for any cleanup as the driver infrastructure will
take care of that.

Let us remove device_create_file and start using the custom attribute
group in soc_device_attribute.

Sudeep Holla 53d421d29c ARM: OMAP2: Switch to use DEVICE_ATTR_RO()
Move device attributes to DEVICE_ATTR_RO() as that would make things
a lot more "obvious" what is happening over the existing __ATTR usage.

Arnd Bergmann 5b75f16f13 Fixes for omaps for v5.8
The recent display subsystem (DSS) related platform data changes caused
display related regressions for suspend and resume. Looks like I only
tested suspend and resume before dropping the legacy platform data, and
forgot to test it after dropping it. Turns out the main issue was that
we no longer have platform code calling pm_runtime_suspend for DSS like
we did for the legacy platform data case, and that fix is still being
discussed on the dri-devel list and will get merged separately. The DSS
related testing exposed a pile other other display related issues that
 also need fixing though:

 - Fix ti-sysc optional clock handling and reset status checks
for devices that reset automatically in idle like DSS

 - Ignore ti-sysc clockactivity bit unless separately requested
   to avoid unexpected performance issues

 - Init ti-sysc framedonetv_irq to true and disable for am4

 - Avoid duplicate DSS reset for legacy mode with dts data

 - Remove LCD timings for am4 as they cause warnings now that we're
   using generic panels

Then there is a pile of other fixes not related to the DSS:

 - Fix omap_prm reset deassert as we still have drivers setting the
   pm_runtime_irq_safe() flag

 - Flush posted write for ti-sysc enable and disable

 - Fix droid4 spi related errors with spi flags

 - Fix am335x USB range and a typo for softreset

 - Fix dra7 timer nodes for clocks for IPU and DSP

 - Drop duplicate mailboxes after mismerge for dra7
