Qu Wenruo 2749f7ef36 btrfs: subpage: avoid potential deadlock with compression and delalloc
[BUG]
With experimental subpage compression enabled, a simple fsstress can
lead to self deadlock on page 720896:

        mkfs.btrfs -f -s 4k $dev > /dev/null
        mount $dev -o compress $mnt
        $fsstress -p 1 -n 100 -w -d $mnt -v -s 1625511156

[CAUSE]
If we have a file layout looks like below:

	0	32K	64K	96K	128K
	|//|		|///////////////|
	   4K

Then we run delalloc range for the inode, it will:

- Call find_lock_delalloc_range() with @delalloc_start = 0
  Then we got a delalloc range [0, 4K).

  This range will be COWed.

- Call find_lock_delalloc_range() again with @delalloc_start = 4K
  Since find_lock_delalloc_range() never cares whether the range
  is still inside page range [0, 64K), it will return range [64K, 128K).

  This range meets the condition for subpage compression, will go
  through async COW path.

  And async COW path will return @page_started.

  But that @page_started is now for range [64K, 128K), not for range
  [0, 64K).

- writepage_dellloc() returned 1 for page [0, 64K)
  Thus page [0, 64K) will not be unlocked, nor its page dirty status
  will be cleared.

Next time when we try to lock page [0, 64K) we will deadlock, as there
is no one to release page [0, 64K).

This problem will never happen for regular page size as one page only
contains one sector.  After the first find_lock_delalloc_range() call,
the @delalloc_end will go beyond @page_end no matter if we found a
delalloc range or not

Thus this bug only happens for subpage, as now we need multiple runs to
exhaust the delalloc range of a page.

[FIX]
Fix the problem by ensuring the delalloc range we ran at least started
inside @locked_page.

So that we will never get incorrect @page_started.

And to prevent such problem from happening again:

- Make find_lock_delalloc_range() return false if the found range is
  beyond @end value passed in.

  Since @end will be utilized now, add an ASSERT() to ensure we pass
  correct @end into find_lock_delalloc_range().

  This also means, for selftests we needs to populate @end before calling
  find_lock_delalloc_range().

- New ASSERT() in find_lock_delalloc_range()
  Now we will make sure the @start/@end passed in at least covers part
  of the page.

- New ASSERT() in run_delalloc_range()
  To make sure the range at least starts inside @locked page.

- Use @delalloc_start as proper cursor, while @delalloc_end is always
  reset to @page_end.

Filipe Manana f064165661 btrfs: unexport setup_items_for_insert()
Since setup_items_for_insert() is not used anymore outside of ctree.c,
make it static and remove its prototype from ctree.h. This also requires
to move the definition of setup_item_for_insert() from ctree.h to ctree.c
and move down btrfs_duplicate_item() so that it's defined after
setup_items_for_insert().

Further, since setup_item_for_insert() is used outside ctree.c, rename it
to btrfs_setup_item_for_insert().

This patch is part of a small patchset that is comprised of the following
patches:

  btrfs: loop only once over data sizes array when inserting an item batch
  btrfs: unexport setup_items_for_insert()
  btrfs: use single bulk copy operations when logging directories

This is patch 2/3 and performance results, and the specific tests, are
included in the changelog of patch 3/3.

Filipe Manana b7ef5f3a6f btrfs: loop only once over data sizes array when inserting an item batch
When inserting a batch of items into a btree, we end up looping over the
data sizes array 3 times:

1) Once in the caller of btrfs_insert_empty_items(), when it populates the
   array with the data sizes for each item;

2) Once at btrfs_insert_empty_items() to sum the elements of the data
   sizes array and compute the total data size;

3) And then once again at setup_items_for_insert(), where we do exactly
   the same as what we do at btrfs_insert_empty_items(), to compute the
   total data size.

That is not bad for small arrays, but when the arrays have hundreds of
elements, the time spent on looping is not negligible. For example when
doing batch inserts of delayed items for dir index items or when logging
a directory, it's common to have 200 to 260 dir index items in a single
batch when using a leaf size of 16K and using file names between 8 and 12
characters. For a 64K leaf size, multiply that by 4. Taking into account
that during directory logging or when flushing delayed dir index items we
can have many of those large batches, the time spent on the looping adds
up quickly.

It's also more important to avoid it at setup_items_for_insert(), since
we are holding a write lock on a leaf and, in some cases, on upper nodes
of the btree, which causes us to block other tasks that want to access
the leaf and nodes for longer than necessary.

So change the code so that setup_items_for_insert() and
btrfs_insert_empty_items() no longer compute the total data size, and
instead rely on the caller to supply it. This makes us loop over the
array only once, where we can both populate the data size array and
compute the total data size, taking advantage of spatial and temporal
locality. To make this more manageable, use a structure to contain
all the relevant details for a batch of items (keys array, data sizes
array, total data size, number of items), and use it as an argument
for btrfs_insert_empty_items() and setup_items_for_insert().

This patch is part of a small patchset that is comprised of the following
patches:

  btrfs: loop only once over data sizes array when inserting an item batch
  btrfs: unexport setup_items_for_insert()
  btrfs: use single bulk copy operations when logging directories

This is patch 1/3 and performance results, and the specific tests, are

Filipe Manana c7bcbb2120 btrfs: remove ignore_offset argument from btrfs_find_all_roots()
Currently all the callers of btrfs_find_all_roots() pass a value of false
for its ignore_offset argument. This makes the argument pointless and we
can remove it and make btrfs_find_all_roots() always pass false as the
ignore_offset argument for btrfs_find_all_roots_safe(). So just do that.

Filipe Manana 8949b9a114 btrfs: fix lock inversion problem when doing qgroup extent tracing
At btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post() we call btrfs_find_all_roots() with a
NULL value as the transaction handle argument, which makes that function
take the commit_root_sem semaphore, which is necessary when we don't hold
a transaction handle or any other mechanism to prevent a transaction
commit from wiping out commit roots.

However btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post() can be called in a context where
we are holding a write lock on an extent buffer from a subvolume tree,
namely from btrfs_truncate_inode_items(), called either during truncate
or unlink operations. In this case we end up with a lock inversion problem
because the commit_root_sem is a higher level lock, always supposed to be
acquired before locking any extent buffer.

Lockdep detects this lock inversion problem since we switched the extent
buffer locks from custom locks to semaphores, and when running btrfs/158
from fstests, it reported the following trace:

Fix this by making btrfs_find_all_roots() never attempt to lock the
commit_root_sem when it is called from btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post().

We can't just pass a non-NULL transaction handle to btrfs_find_all_roots()
from btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post(), because that would make backref
lookup not use commit roots and acquire read locks on extent buffers, and
therefore could deadlock when btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post() is called
from the btrfs_truncate_inode_items() code path which has acquired a write
lock on an extent buffer of the subvolume btree.

Pull idmapped mounts from Christian Brauner:
 "This introduces idmapped mounts which has been in the making for some
  time. Simply put, different mounts can expose the same file or
  directory with different ownership. This initial implementation comes
  with ports for fat, ext4 and with Christoph's port for xfs with more
  filesystems being actively worked on by independent people and
  maintainers.

  Idmapping mounts handle a wide range of long standing use-cases. Here
  are just a few:

   - Idmapped mounts make it possible to easily share files between
     multiple users or multiple machines especially in complex
     scenarios. For example, idmapped mounts will be used in the
     implementation of portable home directories in
     systemd-homed.service(8) where they allow users to move their home
     directory to an external storage device and use it on multiple
     computers where they are assigned different uids and gids. This
     effectively makes it possible to assign random uids and gids at
     login time.

   - It is possible to share files from the host with unprivileged
     containers without having to change ownership permanently through
     chown(2).

   - It is possible to idmap a container's rootfs and without having to
     mangle every file. For example, Chromebooks use it to share the
     user's Download folder with their unprivileged containers in their
     Linux subsystem.

   - It is possible to share files between containers with
     non-overlapping idmappings.

   - Filesystem that lack a proper concept of ownership such as fat can
     use idmapped mounts to implement discretionary access (DAC)
     permission checking.

   - They allow users to efficiently changing ownership on a per-mount
     basis without having to (recursively) chown(2) all files. In
     contrast to chown (2) changing ownership of large sets of files is
     instantenous with idmapped mounts. This is especially useful when
     ownership of a whole root filesystem of a virtual machine or
     container is changed. With idmapped mounts a single syscall
     mount_setattr syscall will be sufficient to change the ownership of
     all files.

   - Idmapped mounts always take the current ownership into account as
     idmappings specify what a given uid or gid is supposed to be mapped
     to. This contrasts with the chown(2) syscall which cannot by itself
     take the current ownership of the files it changes into account. It
     simply changes the ownership to the specified uid and gid. This is
     especially problematic when recursively chown(2)ing a large set of
     files which is commong with the aforementioned portable home
     directory and container and vm scenario.

   - Idmapped mounts allow to change ownership locally, restricting it
     to specific mounts, and temporarily as the ownership changes only
     apply as long as the mount exists.

  Several userspace projects have either already put up patches and
  pull-requests for this feature or will do so should you decide to pull
  this:

   - systemd: In a wide variety of scenarios but especially right away
     in their implementation of portable home directories.

  here have also expressed their need/desire for this feature on the
  mailing list. For more info on how people use this there's a bunch of

  This comes with an extensive xfstests suite covering both ext4 and
  xfs:

  It covers truncation, creation, opening, xattrs, vfscaps, setid
  execution, setgid inheritance and more both with idmapped and
  non-idmapped mounts. It already helped to discover an unrelated xfs
  setgid inheritance bug which has since been fixed in mainline. It will
  be sent for inclusion with the xfstests project should you decide to
  merge this.

  In order to support per-mount idmappings vfsmounts are marked with
  user namespaces. The idmapping of the user namespace will be used to
  map the ids of vfs objects when they are accessed through that mount.
  By default all vfsmounts are marked with the initial user namespace.
  The initial user namespace is used to indicate that a mount is not
  idmapped. All operations behave as before and this is verified in the
  testsuite.

  Based on prior discussions we want to attach the whole user namespace
  and not just a dedicated idmapping struct. This allows us to reuse all
  the helpers that already exist for dealing with idmappings instead of
  introducing a whole new range of helpers. In addition, if we decide in
  the future that we are confident enough to enable unprivileged users
  to setup idmapped mounts the permission checking can take into account
  whether the caller is privileged in the user namespace the mount is
  currently marked with.

  The user namespace the mount will be marked with can be specified by
  passing a file descriptor refering to the user namespace as an
  argument to the new mount_setattr() syscall together with the new
  MOUNT_ATTR_IDMAP flag. The system call follows the openat2() pattern
  of extensibility.

  The following conditions must be met in order to create an idmapped
  mount:

   - The caller must currently have the CAP_SYS_ADMIN capability in the
     user namespace the underlying filesystem has been mounted in.

   - The underlying filesystem must support idmapped mounts.

   - The mount must not already be idmapped. This also implies that the
     idmapping of a mount cannot be altered once it has been idmapped.

   - The mount must be a detached/anonymous mount, i.e. it must have
     been created by calling open_tree() with the OPEN_TREE_CLONE flag
     and it must not already have been visible in the filesystem.

  The last two points guarantee easier semantics for userspace and the
  kernel and make the implementation significantly simpler.

  By default vfsmounts are marked with the initial user namespace and no
  behavioral or performance changes are observed.

  In order to support idmapped mounts, filesystems need to be changed
  and mark themselves with the FS_ALLOW_IDMAP flag in fs_flags. The
  patches to convert individual filesystem are not very large or
  complicated overall as can be seen from the included fat, ext4, and
  xfs ports. Patches for other filesystems are actively worked on and
  will be sent out separately. The xfstestsuite can be used to verify
  that port has been done correctly.

  The mount_setattr() syscall is motivated independent of the idmapped
  mounts patches and it's been around since July 2019. One of the most
  valuable features of the new mount api is the ability to perform
  mounts based on file descriptors only.

  Together with the lookup restrictions available in the openat2()
  RESOLVE_* flag namespace which we added in v5.6 this is the first time
  we are close to hardened and race-free (e.g. symlinks) mounting and
  path resolution.

  While userspace has started porting to the new mount api to mount
  proper filesystems and create new bind-mounts it is currently not
  possible to change mount options of an already existing bind mount in
  the new mount api since the mount_setattr() syscall is missing.

  With the addition of the mount_setattr() syscall we remove this last
  restriction and userspace can now fully port to the new mount api,
  covering every use-case the old mount api could. We also add the
  crucial ability to recursively change mount options for a whole mount
  tree, both removing and adding mount options at the same time. This
  syscall has been requested multiple times by various people and
  projects.

Naohiro Aota 138082f366 btrfs: extend btrfs_rmap_block for specifying a device
btrfs_rmap_block currently reverse-maps the physical addresses on all
devices to the corresponding logical addresses.

Extend the function to match to a specified device. The old functionality
of querying all devices is left intact by specifying NULL as target
device.

A block_device instead of a btrfs_device is passed into btrfs_rmap_block,
as this function is intended to reverse-map the result of a bio, which
only has a block_device.

Also export the function for later use.

inode: make init and permission helpers idmapped mount aware
The inode_owner_or_capable() helper determines whether the caller is the
owner of the inode or is capable with respect to that inode. Allow it to
handle idmapped mounts. If the inode is accessed through an idmapped
mount it according to the mount's user namespace. Afterwards the checks
are identical to non-idmapped mounts. If the initial user namespace is
passed nothing changes so non-idmapped mounts will see identical
behavior as before.

Similarly, allow the inode_init_owner() helper to handle idmapped
mounts. It initializes a new inode on idmapped mounts by mapping the
fsuid and fsgid of the caller from the mount's user namespace. If the
initial user namespace is passed nothing changes so non-idmapped mounts
will see identical behavior as before.

Josef Bacik 675a4fc8f3 btrfs: tests: initialize test inodes location
I noticed that sometimes the module failed to load because the self
tests failed like this:

  BTRFS: selftest: fs/btrfs/tests/inode-tests.c:963 miscount, wanted 1, got 0

This turned out to be because sometimes the btrfs ino would be the btree
inode number, and thus we'd skip calling the set extent delalloc bit
helper, and thus not adjust ->outstanding_extents.

Fix this by making sure we initialize test inodes with a valid inode
number so that we don't get random failures during self tests.

Qu Wenruo b1d51f67c9 btrfs: tests: remove invalid extent-io test
In extent-io-test, there are two invalid tests:

- Invalid nodesize for test_eb_bitmaps()
  Instead of the sectorsize and nodesize combination passed in, we're
  always using hand-crafted nodesize, e.g:

	len = (sectorsize < BTRFS_MAX_METADATA_BLOCKSIZE)
		? sectorsize * 4 : sectorsize;

  In above case, if we have 32K page size, then we will get a length of
  128K, which is beyond max node size, and obviously invalid.

  The common page size goes up to 64K so we haven't hit that

- Invalid extent buffer bytenr
  For 64K page size, the only combination we're going to test is
  sectorsize = nodesize = 64K.
  However, in that case we will try to test an eb which bytenr is not
  sectorsize aligned:

	/* Do it over again with an extent buffer which isn't page-aligned. */
	eb = __alloc_dummy_extent_buffer(fs_info, nodesize / 2, len);

  Sector alignment is a hard requirement for any sector size.
  The only exception is superblock. But anything else should follow
  sector size alignment.

  This is definitely an invalid test case.

This patch will fix both problems by:

- Honor the sectorsize/nodesize combination
  Now we won't bother to hand-craft the length and use it as nodesize.

- Use sectorsize as the 2nd run extent buffer start
  This would test the case where extent buffer is aligned to sectorsize
  but not always aligned to nodesize.

Please note that, later subpage related cleanup will reduce
extent_buffer::pages[] to exactly what we need, making the sector
unaligned extent buffer operations cause problems.

Since only extent_io self tests utilize this, this patch is required for
all later cleanup/refactoring.

Josef Bacik cd79909bc7 btrfs: load free space cache into a temporary ctl
The free space cache has been special in that we would load it right
away instead of farming the work off to a worker thread.  This resulted
in some weirdness that had to be taken into account for this fact,
namely that if we every found a block group being cached the fast way we
had to wait for it to finish, because we could get the cache before it
had been validated and we may throw the cache away.

To handle this particular case instead create a temporary
btrfs_free_space_ctl to load the free space cache into.  Then once we've
validated that it makes sense, copy it's contents into the actual
block_group->free_space_ctl.  This allows us to avoid the problems of
needing to wait for the caching to complete, we can clean up the discard
extent handling stuff in __load_free_space_cache, and we no longer need
to do the merge_space_tree() because the space is added one by one into
the real free_space_ctl.  This will allow further reworks of how we
handle loading the free space cache.

David Sterba ab108d992b btrfs: use precalculated sectorsize_bits from fs_info
We do a lot of calculations where we divide or multiply by sectorsize.
We also know and make sure that sectorsize is a power of two, so this
means all divisions can be turned to shifts and avoid eg. expensive
u64/u32 divisions.

The type is u32 as it's more register friendly on x86_64 compared to u8
and the resulting assembly is smaller (movzbl vs movl).

There's also superblock s_blocksize_bits but it's usually one more
pointer dereference farther than fs_info.

Filipe Manana c334730988 btrfs: fix missing delalloc new bit for new delalloc ranges
When doing a buffered write, through one of the write family syscalls, we
look for ranges which currently don't have allocated extents and set the
'delalloc new' bit on them, so that we can report a correct number of used
blocks to the stat(2) syscall until delalloc is flushed and ordered extents
complete.

However there are a few other places where we can do a buffered write
against a range that is mapped to a hole (no extent allocated) and where
we do not set the 'new delalloc' bit. Those places are:

- Doing a memory mapped write against a hole;

- Cloning an inline extent into a hole starting at file offset 0;

- Calling btrfs_cont_expand() when the i_size of the file is not aligned
  to the sector size and is located in a hole. For example when cloning
  to a destination offset beyond EOF.

So after such cases, until the corresponding delalloc range is flushed and
the respective ordered extents complete, we can report an incorrect number
of blocks used through the stat(2) syscall.

In some cases we can end up reporting 0 used blocks to stat(2), which is a
particular bad value to report as it may mislead tools to think a file is
completely sparse when its i_size is not zero, making them skip reading
any data, an undesired consequence for tools such as archivers and other
backup tools, as reported a long time ago in the following thread (and
other past threads):

So move the logic that decides to set the 'delalloc bit' bit into the
function btrfs_set_extent_delalloc(), since that is what we use for all
those missing cases as well as for the cases that currently work well.

This change is also preparatory work for an upcoming patch that fixes
other problems related to tracking and reporting the number of bytes used
by an inode.

Josef Bacik 8c38938c7b btrfs: move the root freeing stuff into btrfs_put_root
There are a few different ways to free roots, either you allocated them
yourself and you just do

free_extent_buffer(root->node);
free_extent_buffer(root->commit_node);
btrfs_put_root(root);

Which is the pattern for log roots.  Or for snapshots/subvolumes that
are being dropped you simply call btrfs_free_fs_root() which does all
the cleanup for you.

Unify this all into btrfs_put_root(), so that we don't free up things
associated with the root until the last reference is dropped.  This
makes the root freeing code much more significant.

The only caveat is at close_ctree() time we have to free the extent
buffers for all of our main roots (extent_root, chunk_root, etc) because
we have to drop the btree_inode and we'll run into issues if we hold
onto those nodes until ->kill_sb() time.  This will be addressed in the
future when we kill the btree_inode.

Josef Bacik 8260edba67 btrfs: make the init of static elements in fs_info separate
In adding things like eb leak checking and root leak checking there were
a lot of weird corner cases that come from the fact that

  1) We do not init the fs_info until we get to open_ctree time in the
     normal case and

  2) The test infrastructure half-init's the fs_info for things that it
     needs.

This makes it really annoying to make changes because you have to add
init in two different places, have special cases for testing fs_info's
that may not have certain things initialized, and cases for fs_info's
that didn't make it to open_ctree and thus are not fully set up.

Fix this by extracting out the non-allocating init of the fs info into
it's own public function and use that to make sure we're all getting
consistent views of an allocated fs_info.

That was due to btrfs_fs_device::aloc_tree being empty. Initially I
thought this wasn't possible and as a percaution have put the assert in
find_first_clear_extent_bit. Turns out this is indeed possible and could
happen when a file system with SINGLE data/metadata profile has a 2nd
device added. Until balance is run or a new chunk is allocated on this
device it will be completely empty.

In this case find_first_clear_extent_bit should return the full range
[0, -1ULL] and let the caller handle this i.e for trim the end will be
capped at the size of actual device.

Filipe Manana 7227ff4de5 Btrfs: fix race between adding and putting tree mod seq elements and nodes
There is a race between adding and removing elements to the tree mod log
list and rbtree that can lead to use-after-free problems.

Consider the following example that explains how/why the problems happens:

1) Task A has mod log element with sequence number 200. It currently is
   the only element in the mod log list;

2) Task A calls btrfs_put_tree_mod_seq() because it no longer needs to
   access the tree mod log. When it enters the function, it initializes
   'min_seq' to (u64)-1. Then it acquires the lock 'tree_mod_seq_lock'
   before checking if there are other elements in the mod seq list.
   Since the list it empty, 'min_seq' remains set to (u64)-1. Then it
   unlocks the lock 'tree_mod_seq_lock';

3) Before task A acquires the lock 'tree_mod_log_lock', task B adds
   itself to the mod seq list through btrfs_get_tree_mod_seq() and gets a
   sequence number of 201;

4) Some other task, name it task C, modifies a btree and because there
   elements in the mod seq list, it adds a tree mod elem to the tree
   mod log rbtree. That node added to the mod log rbtree is assigned
   a sequence number of 202;

5) Task B, which is doing fiemap and resolving indirect back references,
   calls btrfs get_old_root(), with 'time_seq' == 201, which in turn
   calls tree_mod_log_search() - the search returns the mod log node
   from the rbtree with sequence number 202, created by task C;

6) Task A now acquires the lock 'tree_mod_log_lock', starts iterating
   the mod log rbtree and finds the node with sequence number 202. Since
   202 is less than the previously computed 'min_seq', (u64)-1, it
   removes the node and frees it;

7) Task B still has a pointer to the node with sequence number 202, and
   it dereferences the pointer itself and through the call to
   __tree_mod_log_rewind(), resulting in a use-after-free problem.

This issue can be triggered sporadically with the test case generic/561
from fstests, and it happens more frequently with a higher number of
duperemove processes. When it happens to me, it either freezes the VM or
it produces a trace like the following before crashing:

Fix this by ensuring that btrfs_put_tree_mod_seq() computes the minimum
sequence number and iterates the rbtree while holding the lock

Omar Sandoval 39b07b5d70 btrfs: drop create parameter to btrfs_get_extent()
We only pass this as 1 from __extent_writepage_io(). The parameter
basically means "pretend I didn't pass in a page". This is silly since
we can simply not pass in the page. Get rid of the parameter from
btrfs_get_extent(), and since it's used as a get_extent_t callback,
remove it from get_extent_t and btree_get_extent(), neither of which
need it.

While we're here, let's document btrfs_get_extent().

Dan Carpenter b6293c821e btrfs: return error pointer from alloc_test_extent_buffer
Callers of alloc_test_extent_buffer have not correctly interpreted the
return value as error pointer, as alloc_test_extent_buffer should behave
as alloc_extent_buffer. The self-tests were unaffected but
btrfs_find_create_tree_block could call both functions and that would
cause problems up in the call chain.

The on-disk format of block group item makes use of the key that stores
the offset and length. This is further used in the code, although this
makes thing harder to understand. The key is also packed so the
offset/length is not properly aligned as u64.

Add start (key.objectid) and length (key.offset) members to block group
and remove the embedded key.  When the item is searched or written, a
local variable for key is used.

Filipe Manana 9f7fec0ba8 Btrfs: fix selftests failure due to uninitialized i_mode in test inodes
Some of the self tests create a test inode, setup some extents and then do
calls to btrfs_get_extent() to test that the corresponding extent maps
exist and are correct. However btrfs_get_extent(), since the 5.2 merge
window, now errors out when it finds a regular or prealloc extent for an
inode that does not correspond to a regular file (its ->i_mode is not
S_IFREG). This causes the self tests to fail sometimes, specially when
KASAN, slub_debug and page poisoning are enabled:

This happens because the test inodes are created without ever initializing
the i_mode field of the inode, and neither VFS's new_inode() nor the btrfs
callback btrfs_alloc_inode() initialize the i_mode. Initialization of the
i_mode is done through the various callbacks used by the VFS to create
new inodes (regular files, directories, symlinks, tmpfiles, etc), which
all call btrfs_new_inode() which in turn calls inode_init_owner(), which
sets the inode's i_mode. Since the tests only uses new_inode() to create
the test inodes, the i_mode was never initialized.

This always happens on a VM I used with kasan, slub_debug and many other
debug facilities enabled. It also happened to someone who reported this
on bugzilla (on a 5.3-rc).

Fix this by setting i_mode to S_IFREG at btrfs_new_test_inode().

The test creates an extent io tree and sets several ranges with the
CHUNK_ALLOCATED and CHUNK_TRIMMED bits, resulting in the allocation of
several extent state structures. However the test never clears those
ranges, resulting in memory leaks of the extent state structures.

This is detected when CONFIG_BTRFS_DEBUG is set once we remove the

Nikolay Borisov 1eaebb341d btrfs: Don't trim returned range based on input value in find_first_clear_extent_bit
Currently find_first_clear_extent_bit always returns a range whose
starting value is >= passed 'start'. This implicit trimming behavior is
somewhat subtle and an implementation detail.

Instead, this patch modifies the function such that now it always
returns the range which contains passed 'start' and has the given bits
unset. This range could either be due to presence of existing records
which contains 'start' but have the bits unset or because there are no
records that contain the given starting offset.

This patch also adds test cases which cover find_first_clear_extent_bit
since they were missing up until now.

Once upon a time we used to set ->d_name of e.g. pipefs root
so that d_path() on pipes would work.  These days it's

dentry name (passed as the second argument) and callers
kept inventing names to pass to it.  Including those that
didn't *have* any non-root dentries to start with...

All of that had been pointless for about 8 years now; it's
time to get rid of that cargo-culting...

   - trim/discard will skip unallocated chunks that haven't been touched
     since the last mount

  Fixes:

   - send flushes delayed allocation before start, otherwise it could
     miss some changes in case of a very recent rw->ro switch of a
     subvolume

   - fix fallocate with qgroups that could lead to space accounting
     underflow, reported as a warning

   - trim/discard ioctl honours the requested range

   - starting send and dedupe on a subvolume at the same time will let
     only one of them succeed, this is to prevent changes that send
     could miss due to dedupe; both operations are restartable

  Core changes:

   - more tree-checker validations, errors reported by fuzzing tools:
      - device item
      - inode item
      - block group profiles

   - tracepoints for extent buffer locking

   - async cow preallocates memory to avoid errors happening too deep in
     the call chain

   - metadata reservations for delalloc reworked to better adapt in
     many-writers/low-space scenarios

   - improved space flushing logic for intense DIO vs buffered workloads

   - lots of cleanups
      - removed unused struct members
      - redundant argument removal
      - properties and xattrs
      - extent buffer locking
      - selftests
      - use common file type conversions
      - many-argument functions reduction"

David Sterba 2ccf545e0d btrfs: get fs_info from block group in search_free_space_info
We can read fs_info from the block group cache structure and can drop it
from the parameters.  Though the transaction is also availabe, it's not
guaranteed to be non-NULL.
