Laurent Pinchart f3ed97f9ae drm/omap: dsi: Simplify debugfs implementation
The DSI debugfs regs and irqs show handlers received a pointer to the
DSI private data. There's no need to look it up from the list of DSS
outputs. Use the pointer directly, this allows simplifying the
implementation of the handlers.

Laurent Pinchart 7269fde4e8 drm/omap: displays: Remove input omap_dss_device from panel data
All connectors, encoders and panels store a pointer to their input
omap_dss_device in the panel driver data structure. This duplicates the
src field in the omap_dss_device structure. Remove the private copy and
use the src field.

Laurent Pinchart 1f507968c3 drm/omap: dss: Move debug message and checks to connection handlers
The connectors, encoders and display duplicate the same debug messages
and connection checks in their omap_dss_device connect and disconnect
handlers. Move the code to the connect and disconnect wrappers.

To simplify the code the connect function returns -EBUSY unconditionally
if the device is already connected. This doesn't cause any change in
practice: the connect handler of displays is never called on a connected
device as it is only invoked during omapdrm initialization.

The omap_dss_device objects model display components and are connected

The various types of omapdss_*_ops structures define multiple operations

Laurent Pinchart a7e82a67c1 drm/omap: dss: Rework output lookup by port node
The omap_dss_find_output_by_port_node() function defined in output.c
looks up an output from its port node. To do so it needs to call helper
functions from dss-of.c to lookup the port parent and the port number.
As omap_dss_find_output_by_port_node() is only called by
omapdss_of_find_source_for_first_ep() from dss-of.c this goes back and
forth between the to source files and isn't very clear.

Simplify the code by passing both the parent and the port number to
omap_dss_find_output_by_port_node() instead of the port node, and rename
the function to omap_dss_find_output_by_port().

Description of DRA7 Errata i932:

In rare circumstances DPLL_VIDEO1 and DPLL_VIDEO2 PLL's may not lock on

subsequent attempt to relock the PLL will result in PLL successfully
locking.

This patch does the following as per the errata recommendation:

- retries locking the PLL upto 20 times.

- The time to wait for a PLL lock set to 1000 REFCLK cycles. We use
usleep_range to wait for 1000 REFCLK cycles in the us range. This tight
constraint is imposed as a lock later than 1000 REFCLK cycles may have
high jitter.

- Criteria for PLL lock is extended from check on just the PLL_LOCK bit
to check on 6 PLL_STATUS bits.

Souptick Joarder 6ada132864 gpu: drm: omapdrm: Adding new typedef vm_fault_t
Use new return type vm_fault_t for fault handler. For
now, this is just documenting that the function returns
a VM_FAULT value rather than an errno. Once all instances
are converted, vm_fault_t will become a distinct type.

Ref-> commit 1c8f422059 ("mm: change return type to vm_fault_t")

Previously vm_insert_mixed() returns err which driver
mapped into VM_FAULT_* type. Also return value of
vm_insert_mixed() not handled correctly and 0 was
returned inside fault_2d() as default. The new function
vmf_insert_mixed() will replace this inefficiency by
returning correct VM_FAULT_* type.

vmf_error() is the newly introduce inline function
in 4.17-rc6.

Kees Cook 6396bb2215 treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b, gfp)

with:
        kcalloc(a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

Fix this by having struct dpi_data pointer in the ctx instead, giving

Tomi Valkeinen 4cba7071b7 drm/omap: cleanup color space conversion
The setup code for color space conversion is a bit messy. This patch
cleans it up.

For some reason the TRM uses values in YCrCb order, which is also used
in the current driver, whereas everywhere else it's YCbCr (which also
matches YUV order). This patch changes the tables to use the common
order to avoid confusion.

The tables are split into separate lines, and comments added for
clarity.

WB color conversion registers are similar but different than non-WB, but
the same function was used to write both. It worked fine because the
coef table was adjusted accordingly, but that was rather confusing. This
patch adds a separate function to write the WB values so that the coef
table can be written in an understandable way.

Recalculation also showed that 'bcb' value in yuv-to-rgb conversion had
been rounded wrongly, and it should be 516 instead of 517.

expected bit value. As all the existing callers need is to check whether
the bit has reached the expected value, it's easier to return a boolean
status from the function.

Laurent Pinchart 215003b4ae drm: omapdrm: dss: Move initialization code from component bind to probe
There's no reason to delay initialization of most of the driver (such as
mapping memory I/O, getting clocks or enabling runtime PM) to the
component master bind handler.

This additionally fixes a real PM issue caused enabling runtime PM in
the bind handler.

The bind handler performs the following sequence of PM operations:

	pm_runtime_enable(dev);
	pm_runtime_get_sync(dev);

... (access the hardware to read the device revision) ...

	pm_runtime_put_sync(dev);

If a failure occurs at this point, the error path calls
pm_runtime_disable() to balance the pm_runtime_enable() call.

To understand the problem, it should be noted that the bind handler is
called when one of the component registers itself, which happens in the
component's probe handler. Furthermore, as the components are children
of the DSS, the device core calls pm_runtime_get_sync() on the DSS
platform device before calling the component's probe handler. This
increases the DSS power usage count but doesn't runtime resume the
device, as runtime PM is disabled at that point.

The bind handler is thus called with runtime PM disabled, with the
device runtime suspended, but with the power usage count larger than 0.
The pm_runtime_get_sync() call will thus further increase the power
usage count and runtime resume the device. The pm_runtime_put_sync()
handler will decrease the power usage count to a non-zero value and will
thus not suspend the device. Finally, the pm_runtime_disable() call will
disable runtime PM, preventing the pm_runtime_put() call in the device
core from runtime suspending the device. The DSS device is thus left
powered on.

To fix this, move the initialization code from the bind handler to the
probe handler.

Hans Verkuil df29c9db8a omapdrm/dss/hdmi4_cec: fix interrupt handling
The omap4 CEC hardware cannot tell a Nack from a Low Drive from an
Arbitration Lost error, so just report a Nack, which is almost
certainly the reason for the error anyway.

This also simplifies the implementation. The only three interrupts
that need to be enabled are:

Transmit Buffer Full/Empty Change event: triggered when the
transmit finished successfully and cleared the buffer.

Receiver FIFO Not Empty event: triggered when a message was received.

Frame Retransmit Count Exceeded event: triggered when a transmit
failed repeatedly, usually due to the message being Nacked. Other
reasons are possible (Low Drive, Arbitration Lost) but there is no
way to know. If this happens the TX buffer needs to be cleared
manually.

While testing various error conditions I noticed that the hardware
can receive messages up to 18 bytes in total, which exceeds the legal
maximum of 16. This could cause a buffer overflow, so we check for
this and constrain the size to 16 bytes.

The old incorrect interrupt handler could cause the CEC framework to
enter into a bad state because it mis-detected the "Start Bit Irregularity
event" as an ARB_LOST transmit error when it actually is a receive error
which should be ignored.
