This patch provides additional device attributes which enable
loading the firmware. ('select_engine' and 'run_engine')
To run a LED pattern, two parts of driver should be enabled.
Common features : lp55xx-common
===============================
Firmware interface for loading LED patterns
Chip specific features : leds-lp5521, leds-lp5523
=================================================
Register addresses for loading firmware data
Register addresses for running selected engine
Pattern programming sequence
============================
LP55xx chips have three program engines.
To load and run a LED pattern, the programming sequence is as follows.
(1) Select an engine number (1/2/3)
(2) Set engine mode to load
(3) Write pattern data into selected area
(4) Set engine mode to run
This sequence is almost same as the firmware interface.
(1) Select an engine number : 'select_engine' dev attribute
(2) Mode change to load : 'loading' of firmware class
(3) Write pattern data into selected area : 'data' of firmware class
(4) Mode change to run : 'run_engine' dev attribute
(1) and (4) are device specific features which provide callback functions
(2) and (3) are common features.
For example,
echo 1 or 2 or 3 > /sys/bus/i2c/devices/xxxx/select_engine
echo 1 > /sys/class/firmware/lp5521/loading
echo "4000600040FF6000" > /sys/class/firmware/lp5521/data
echo 0 > /sys/class/firmware/lp5521/loading
echo 1 > /sys/bus/i2c/devices/xxxx/run_engine
As soon as 'loading' is set to 0, registered callback is called.
Inside the callback, the selected engine is loaded and memory is updated.
To run programmed pattern, 'run_engine' attribute should be enabled.
Device specific data structure
==============================
o Firmware callback
load selected engine and update program memory
o Run engine
change the engine mode
o 'engine_idx' and firmware data, 'fw'
Those are used in the driver internally with callback functions

This patch supports basic common driver code for LP5521, LP5523/55231 devices.
( Driver Structure Data )
lp55xx_led and lp55xx_chip
In lp55xx common driver, two different data structure is used.
o lp55xx_led
control multi output LED channels such as led current, channel index.
o lp55xx_chip
general chip control such like the I2C and platform data.
For example, LP5521 has maximum 3 LED channels.
LP5523/55231 has 9 output channels.
lp55xx_chip for LP5521 ... lp55xx_led #1
lp55xx_led #2
lp55xx_led #3
lp55xx_chip for LP5523 ... lp55xx_led #1
lp55xx_led #2
.
.
lp55xx_led #9
( Platform Data )
LP5521 and LP5523/55231 have own specific platform data.
However, this data can be handled with just one platform data structure.
The lp55xx platform data is declared in the header.
This structure is derived from leds-lp5521.h and leds-lp5523.h

This patch adds DT board setup for the LaCie NAS Network Space Mini v2
(aka SafeBox). The hardware characteristics are very close to those of
the Network Space Lite v2. The main difference are:
- A GPIO fan which is only available on the NS2 Mini.
- A single USB host port is wired on the NS2 Mini. The NS2 Lite provides
an additional dual-mode USB port (host/device).

Based on Linus Walleij's ARM LED consolidation work, this patchset introduce a
new generic led trigger for CPU not only for ARM but also for others.
For enabling CPU idle event, CPU arch code should call ledtrig_cpu() stub to
trigger idle start or idle end event.
These patches convert old style LED driver in arch/arm to gpio_led or new led
driver interface. Against 3.5 release and build successfully for all the machines.
Test ledtrig-cpu driver on OMAP4 Panda board.

The leds timer trigger does not currently have an interface to activate a
one shot timer. The current support allows for setting two timers, one
for specifying how long a state to be on, and the second for how long the
state to be off. The delay_on value specifies the time period an LED
should stay in on state, followed by a delay_off value that specifies how
long the LED should stay in off state. The on and off cycle repeats until
the trigger gets deactivated. There is no provision for one time
activation to implement features that require an on or off state to be
held just once and then stay in the original state forever.
Without one shot timer interface, user space can still use timer trigger
to set a timer to hold a state, however when user space application
crashes or goes away without deactivating the timer, the hardware will be
left in that state permanently.
As a specific example of this use-case, let's look at vibrate feature on
phones. Vibrate function on phones is implemented using PWM pins on SoC
or PMIC. There is a need to activate one shot timer to control the
vibrate feature, to prevent user space crashes leaving the phone in
vibrate mode permanently causing the battery to drain.
This trigger exports three properties, activate, state, and duration When
transient trigger is activated these properties are set to default values.
- duration allows setting timer value in msecs. The initial value is 0.
- activate allows activating and deactivating the timer specified by
duration as needed. The initial and default value is 0. This will allow
duration to be set after trigger activation.
- state allows user to specify a transient state to be held for the specified
duration.

Add V2 of the LED driver for a single timer channel for the TPU hardware
block commonly found in Renesas SoCs.
The driver has been written with optimal Power Management in mind, so to
save power the LED is driven as a regular GPIO pin in case of maximum
brightness and power off which allows the TPU hardware to be idle and
which in turn allows the clocks to be stopped and the power domain to be
turned off transparently.
Any other brightness level requires use of the TPU hardware in PWM mode.
TPU hardware device clocks and power are managed through Runtime PM.
System suspend and resume is known to be working - during suspend the LED
is set to off by the generic LED code.
The TPU hardware timer is equipeed with a 16-bit counter together with an
up-to-divide-by-64 prescaler which makes the hardware suitable for
brightness control. Hardware blink is unsupported.
The LED PWM waveform has been verified with a Fluke 123 Scope meter on a
sh7372 Mackerel board. Tested with experimental sh7372 A3SP power domain
patches. Platform device bind/unbind tested ok.
V2 has been tested on the DS2 LED of the sh73a0-based AG5EVM.

This new driver replaces the old PCEngines Alix 2/3 LED driver with a
new driver that controls the LEDs through the leds-gpio driver. The
old driver accessed GPIOs directly, which created a conflict and
prevented also loading the cs5535-gpio driver to read other GPIOs on
the Alix board. With this new driver, we hook into leds-gpio which in
turn uses GPIO to control the LEDs and therefore it's possible to
control both the LEDs and access onboard GPIOs
Driver is moved to platform/geode as requested by Grant and any other
geode initialisation modules should move here also
This driver is inspired by leds-net5501.c by Alessandro Zummo.
Ideally, leds-net5501.c should also be moved to platform/geode.
Additionally the driver relies on parts of the patch: 7f131cf3ed ("leds:
leds-alix2c - take port address from MSR) by Daniel Mack to perform
detection of the Alix board.

some memory because all but one definition can be free'd after boot.
As the function is used by arch code it must be builtin and so cannot go

Currently, blinking LEDs can be awkward because it is not guaranteed that
all LEDs implement blinking. The trigger that wants it to blink then
needs to implement its own timer solution.
Rather than require that, add led_blink_set() API that triggers can use.
This function will attempt to use hw blinking, but if that fails
implements a timer for it. To stop blinking again, brightness_set() also
needs to be wrapped into API that will stop the software blink.
As a result of this, the timer trigger becomes a very trivial one, and
hopefully we can finally see triggers using blinking as well because it's
always easy to use.

ROHM BD2802GU is a RGB LED controller attached to i2c bus and specifically
engineered for decoration purposes. This RGB controller incorporates
lighting patterns and illuminates.
This driver is designed to minimize power consumption, so when there is no
emitting LED, it enters to reset state. And because the BD2802GU has lots
of features that can't be covered by the current LED framework, it
provides Advanced Configuration Function(ADF) mode, so that user
applications can set registers of BD2802GU directly.
Here are basic usage examples :
; to turn on LED (not blink)
$ echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/led1_R/brightness
; to blink LED
$ echo timer > /sys/class/leds/led1_R/trigger
$ echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/led1_R/delay_on
$ echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/led1_R/delay_off
; to turn off LED
$ echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/led1_R/brightness

The gpio led trigger will allow leds to be triggered by
gpio events.
When we give the led a gpio number, the trigger will
request_irq() on that so we don't have to keep polling
for gpio state.
It's useful for usecases as n810's keypad leds that could
be triggered by the gpio event generated when user slides
up to show the keypad.
We also provide means for userland to tell us what is the
desired brightness for that special led when it goes on
so userland could use information from ambient light sensors
and not set led brightness too high if it's not necessary.

Add bindings to support LEDs defined as of_platform devices in addition to
the existing bindings for platform devices.
New options in Kconfig allow the platform binding code and/or the
of_platform code to be turned on. The of_platform code is of course only
available on archs that have OF support.
The existing probe and remove methods are refactored to use new functions
create_gpio_led(), to create and register one led, and delete_gpio_led(),
to unregister and free one led. The new probe and remove methods for the
of_platform driver can then share most of the common probe and remove code
with the platform driver.
The suspend and resume methods aren't shared, but they are very short. The
actual led driving code is the same for LEDs created by either binding.
The OF bindings are based on patch by Anton Vorontsov
<avorontsov@ru.mvista.com>. They have been extended to allow multiple LEDs
per device.

Move the second part of the HP laptop disk protection functionality (a red

the led and the accelerometer have nothing related. However, they
correspond to the same ACPI functionality, and so will always be used
together, moreover as they share the same ACPI PNP alias, there is no
other simple to allow to have same loaded at the same time if they are not
in the same module. Also make it requires the led class to compile and

The voltage and current regulators on the WM8350 AudioPlus PMIC can be
used in concert to provide a power efficient LED driver. This driver
implements support for this within the standard LED class.
Platform initialisation code should configure the LED hardware in the
init callback provided by the WM8350 core driver. The callback should
use wm8350_isink_set_flash(), wm8350_dcdc25_set_mode() and
wm8350_dcdc_set_slot() to configure the operating parameters of the
regulators for their hardware and then then use wm8350_register_led() to
instantiate the LED driver.

This is a LED driver using the PWM on newer SOCs from Atmel; brightness is
controlled by changing the PWM duty cycle. So for example if you've set up
two leds labeled "pwm0" and "pwm1":
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/pwm2/brightness # off (0%)
echo 80 > /sys/class/leds/pwm2/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/leds/pwm2/brightness # on (100%)
Note that "brightness" here isn't linear; maybe that should change. Going
from 4 to 8 probably doubles perceived brightness, while 244 to 248 is
imperceptible.
This is mostly intended to be a simple example of PWM, although it's
realistic since LCD backlights are often driven with PWM to conserve
battery power (and offer brightness options).

A driver for the PCEngines WRAP boards (http://www.pcengines.ch), which are
very similar to the Soekris net4801 (same NS SC1100 geode reference
design).
The LEDs on the WRAP are on different GPIO lines and I have modified and
copied the net48xx error led support for this. It also includes support
for an "extra" led (in addition to error). The three LEDs on the WRAP are
at GPIO lines 2,3,18 (WRAP LEDs from left to right). This driver gives
access to the second and third LEDs by twiddling GPIO lines 3 & 18.
Because these boards are so similar to the net48xx, I basically sed-ed that
driver to form the basis for leds-wrap.c. The only changes from
leds-net48xx.c are:
- #define WRAP_EXTRA_LED_GPIO
- name changes
- duplicate relevant sections to provide support for the "extra" led
- reverse the various *_led_set values. The WRAP is "backwards" from the
net48xx, and these needed to be updated for that.
