This patch makes the controller register map ci_regs_nolpm and ci_regs_lpm as
"const". Further, as all offset fit into a single byte, the type is changed
from uintptr_t to u8.

Without this patch a seperate chunk of memory is allocated for the regmap
array. As the regmap is always used it makes no sense to allocate a seperate
memory block for it, this patch moves the regmap array directly into the struct
hw_bank.

drivers/usb/phy/Kconfig
This patch adds "maxpacket_limit" to struct usb_ep. This field contains
maximum value of maxpacket supported by driver, and is set in driver probe.
This value should be used by autoconfig() function, because value of field
"maxpacket" is set to value from endpoint descriptor when endpoint becomes
enabled. So when autoconfig() function will be called again for this endpoint,
"maxpacket" value will contain wMaxPacketSize from descriptior instead of
maximum packet size for this endpoint.
For this reason this patch adds new field "maxpacket_limit" which contains
value of maximum packet size (which defines maximum endpoint capabilities).
This value is used in ep_matches() function used by autoconfig().
Value of "maxpacket_limit" should be set in UDC driver probe function, using
usb_ep_set_maxpacket_limit() function, defined in gadget.h. This function
set choosen value to both "maxpacket_limit" and "maxpacket" fields.
This patch modifies UDC drivers by adding support for maxpacket_limit.

If we connect Male-A-To-Male-A cable between otg-host and host pc,
the ci->vbus_active is set wrongly, and cause the controller run
at peripheral mode when we load gadget module (ci_udc_start will be run),
but the software runs at host mode due to id = 0. The ehci_irq
can't handle suspend (USBi_SLI) interrupt which is enabled for
peripheral mode, it causes no one will handle irq error.

Pull DMA mask updates from Russell King:
"This series cleans up the handling of DMA masks in a lot of drivers,
fixing some bugs as we go.
Some of the more serious errors include:
- drivers which only set their coherent DMA mask if the attempt to
set the streaming mask fails.
- drivers which test for a NULL dma mask pointer, and then set the
dma mask pointer to a location in their module .data section -
which will cause problems if the module is reloaded.
To counter these, I have introduced two helper functions:
- dma_set_mask_and_coherent() takes care of setting both the
streaming and coherent masks at the same time, with the correct
error handling as specified by the API.
- dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() which resolves the problem of
drivers forcefully setting DMA masks. This is more a marker for
future work to further clean these locations up - the code which
creates the devices really should be initialising these, but to fix
that in one go along with this change could potentially be very
disruptive.
The last thing this series does is prise away some of Linux's addition
to "DMA addresses are physical addresses and RAM always starts at
zero". We have ARM LPAE systems where all system memory is above 4GB
physical, hence having DMA masks interpreted by (eg) the block layers
as describing physical addresses in the range 0..DMAMASK fails on
these platforms. Santosh Shilimkar addresses this in this series; the
patches were copied to the appropriate people multiple times but were
ignored.
Fixing this also gets rid of some ARM weirdness in the setup of the
max*pfn variables, and brings ARM into line with every other Linux
architecture as far as those go"

The correct way for a driver to specify the coherent DMA mask is
not to directly access the field in the struct device, but to use

member directly.

The chipidea i.MX driver is split into two drivers. The ci_hdrc_imx driver
handles the chipidea cores and the usbmisc_imx driver handles the noncore
registers common to all chipidea cores (but SoC specific). Current flow is:
- usbmisc sets an ops pointer in the ci_hdrc_imx driver during probe
- ci_hdrc_imx checks if the pointer is valid during probe, if yes calls
the functions in the ops pointer.
- usbmisc_imx calls back into the ci_hdrc_imx driver to get additional
data
This is overly complicated and has problems if the drivers are compiled
as modules. In this case the usbmisc_imx driver can be unloaded even if
the ci_hdrc_imx driver still needs usbmisc functionality.
This patch changes this by letting the ci_hdrc_imx driver calling functions
from the usbmisc_imx driver. This way the symbol resolving during module
load makes sure the ci_hdrc_imx driver depends on the usbmisc_imx driver.
Also instead of letting the usbmisc_imx driver call back into the ci_hdrc_imx
driver, pass the needed data in the first place.

CI_HDRC_REGS_SHARED stands for the controller registers is shared
with other USB drivers, if all USB drivers are at chipidea/, it doesn't
needed to be set.
CI_HDRC_PULLUP_ON_VBUS stands for pullup dp when the vbus is on. This
flag doesn't need to be set if the vbus is always on for gadget
since dp has always pulled up after the gadget has initialized.
So, the current code seems to misuse this two flags.
- When the gadget initializes, the controller doesn't need to run if
it depends on vbus (CI_HDRC_PULLUP_ON_VBUS), it does not relate to
shared register.
- When the gadget starts (load one gadget module), the controller
can run if vbus is on (CI_HDRC_PULLUP_ON_VBUS), it also does not
relate to shared register.

When the gadget role starts, we need to make sure the vbus is lower
than OTGSC_BSV, or there will be an vbus interrupt since we use
B_SESSION_VALID as vbus interrupt to indicate connect and disconnect.
When the host role starts, it may not be useful to wait vbus to lower

vbus is still higher than OTGSC_BSV after we disconnect to host some
time later (5000 milliseconds currently), which is obvious not correct.

Commit 40dcd0e ("usb: chipidea: add PTW, PTS and STS handling") introduced
the following code to the ci_hdrc_probe() function:
+ if (!dev->of_node && dev->parent)
+ dev->of_node = dev->parent->of_node;
This inadvertently associates the ci_hdrc device with the ci_hdrc_imx
driver (which created the ci_hdrc device in the first place).
This results in ci_hdrc_imx_probe() being run for the ci_hdrc device
if ci_hdrc_probe() fails for some reason.
ci_hdrc_imx_probe() will happily create a new ci_hdrc platform_device
whose probing will likewise fail and trigger a new invocation of
ci_hdrc_imx_probe() ... ad nauseam.

This patch provides a cleaner solution to the problem described in
commit 20a677fd ("usb: chipidea: improve kconfig").
The goal to be achieved is to force USB_CHIPIDEA=m if either
USB_EHCI_HCD=m or USB_GADGET=m.
If both are 'y' USB_CHIPIDEA may be selected to be 'm' or 'y'.
The old patch had the drawback, that USB_CHIPIDEA could be chosen as
'y' though USB_EHCI_HCD or USB_GADGET (or both) were 'm' leading to a
situation where USB_CHIPIDEA_HOST or USB_CHIPIDEA_UDC vanished from
the config options producing a compilable but dysfunctional driver.

All patches here have been pending on linux-usb
and sitting in linux-next for a while now.
The biggest things in this tag are:
DWC3 learned proper usage of threaded IRQ
handlers and now we spend very little time
in hardirq context.
MUSB now has proper support for BeagleBone and
Beaglebone Black.
Tegra's USB support also got quite a bit of love
and is learning to use PHY layer and generic DT

Other than that, the usual pack of cleanups and
non-critical fixes follow.

The has_hostpc capability bit indicates that the host controller has the
HOSTPC register extensions, but at the same time enables clock disabling
power saving features with the PHY Low Power Clock Disable (PHCD) bit.
However, some host controllers have the HOSTPC extensions but don't
support the low-power feature, so the PHCD bit must not be set on those
controllers. Add a separate capability bit for the low-power feature
instead, and change all existing users of has_hostpc to use this new
capability bit.
The idea for this commit is taken from an old 2012 commit that never got
merged ("disociate chipidea PHY low power suspend control from hostpc")

commit ea1418b5f1 (usb: chipidea: i.MX: use devm_usb_get_phy_by_phandle to get

- Insert the USB thumb again (connection is not detected)

This patch removes the restriction of having a limited amount of only
four active tds on one endpoint. We use the linked list implementation
to manage all tds which get added and removed by hardware_{en,de}queue.
The removal of this restriction adds the driver to run into a hardware
errata. It's possible that the hardware will still address an transfer
descriptor that already got cleaned up. To solve this the patch also
postpone the cleanup of processed tds by one.

Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@infradead.org> reported this problem
on i386:
> drivers/built-in.o: In function `ci_hdrc_host_init':
> (.text+0x2ce75c): undefined reference to `ehci_init_driver'
>
> When USB_EHCI_HCD=m and USB_CHIPIDEA=y.
In fact, this problem is existed on all platforms which are using
chipidea driver. The root cause of this problem is the chipidea host
uses symbol exported from ehci-hcd, but chipidea core
does not depends on USB_EHCI_HCD. So, chipidea driver
will not be compiled as module if USB_EHCI_HCD=m.
It is very hard to give a perfect solution since chipidea core
depends on USB || USB_GADGET, and chipdiea host depends on
both USB_EHCI_HCD and USB_CHIPIDEA, the same problem exists for
gadget.
To fix this problem, we had to have below assumptions:
- If USB_EHCI_HCD=y && USB_GADGET=y, USB_CHIPIDEA can be 'y'.
- If USB_EHCI_HCD=m && USB_GADGET=y, USB_CHIPIDEA=m
or USB_CHIPIDEA_HOST can't be seen if USB_CHIPIDEA=y.
It will cause compile error due to no glue layer for ehci:
> error: #error "missing bus glue for ehci-hcd"
So, we had to compile USB_CHIPIDEA=m if USB_EHCI_HCD=m,
current ehci hcd core guarantee it.
- If USB_EHCI_HCD=y && USB_GADGET=m, USB_CHIPIDEA=m
or USB_CHIPIDEA_UDC can't be seen if USB_CHIPIDEA=y.
Of cos, the gadget will out of working at this situation,
so the user had to compile USB_CHIPIDEA=m.
- USB_EHCI_HCD=m && USB_GADGET=m, we can't see
USB_CHIPIDEA_HOST and USB_CHIPIDEA_UDC unless
USB_CHIPIDEA=m.
The reason why it has above assumptions:
- If both ehci core and gadget core build as module,
the chipidea has to build as module.
- If one of ehci core or gadget core is built in, another
is built as module, we can only enable the function which
is built in, or enable both roles as modules (USB_CHIPIDEA=m),
since chipidea core driver takes care of both host and device roles.

There is no need to keep a 'reg_vbus' indirection, so get rid of it.
The motivation for doing this change is that in the case of error, the current
code only sets the local reg_vbus to NULL instead of updating the private
structure 'data->reg_vbus'.
Updating only the local reg_vbus is wrong, since we currently check for
data->reg_vbus in the ci13xxx_imx_remove() function.
In order to avoid such issue, just use 'data->reg_vbus' directly.

Many USB host drivers contain code such as:
if (!pdev->dev.dma_mask)
pdev->dev.dma_mask = &tegra_ehci_dma_mask;
... where tegra_ehci_dma_mask is a global. I suspect this code originated
in commit 4a53f4e "USB: ehci-tegra: add probing through device tree" and
was simply copied everywhere else.
This works fine when the code is built-in, but can cause a crash when the
code is in a module. The first module load sets up the dma_mask pointer,
but if the module is removed and re-inserted, the value is now non-NULL,
and hence is not updated to point at the new location, and hence points
at a stale location within the previous module load address, which in
turn causes a crash if the pointer is de-referenced.
The simplest way of solving this seems to be to copy the code from
ehci-platform.c, which uses the coherent_dma_mask as the target for the
dma_mask pointer.

The udc uses an shared dma memory space between hard and software. This
memory layout is described in ci13xxx_qh and ci13xxx_td which are marked
with the attribute ((packed)).
The compiler currently does not know about the alignment of the memory
layout, and will create strb and ldrb operations.
The Datasheet of the synopsys core describes, that some operations on
the mapped memory need to be atomic double word operations. I.e. the
next pointer addressing in the qhead, as otherwise the hardware will
read wrong data and totally stuck.
This is also possible while working with the current active td queue,
and preparing the td->ptr.next in software while the hardware is still
working with the current active td which is supposed to be changed:
writeb(0xde, &td->ptr.next + 0x0); /* strb */
writeb(0xad, &td->ptr.next + 0x1); /* strb */
<----- hardware reads value of td->ptr.next and get stuck!
writeb(0xbe, &td->ptr.next + 0x2); /* strb */
writeb(0xef, &td->ptr.next + 0x3); /* strb */
This appeares on armv5 machines where the hardware does not support
unaligned 32bit operations.
This patch adds the attribute ((aligned(4))) to the structures to tell
the compiler to use 32bit operations. It also adds an wmb() for the
prepared TD data before it gets enqueued into the qhead.

This patch (as1630) cleans up a few minor items resulting from the
split-up of the ehci-hcd driver:
Remove the product_desc string from the ehci_driver_overrides
structure. All drivers will use the generic "EHCI Host
Controller" string. (This was requested by Felipe Balbi.)
Allow drivers to pass a NULL pointer to ehci_init_driver()
if they don't have to override any settings.
Remove a #define symbol that is no longer used from the
ChipIdea host driver.

This patch (as1623) removes the ehci_port_power() routine and all the
places that call it. There's no reason for ehci-hcd to change the
port power settings; the hub driver takes care of all that stuff.
There is one exception: When the controller is resumed from
hibernation or following a loss of power, the ports that are supposed
to be handed over to a companion controller must be powered on first.
Otherwise the handover won't work. This process is not visible to the
hub driver, so it has to be handled in ehci-hcd.

When attaching an imx28 or imx53 in USB gadget mode to a Windows host and
starting a rndis connection we see this message every 4-10 seconds:
g_ether gadget: high speed config #2: RNDIS
Analysis shows that each time this message is printed, the rndis connection is
re-establish due to a reset because of a stalled endpoint (ep 0, dir 1). The
endpoint is stalled because the reqeust complete bit on that endpoint is set,
but in isr_tr_complete_low() the endpoint request list (mEp->qh.queue) is
empty.
This patch removed this check, because the code doesn't take the following
situation into account:
The loop over all endpoints in isr_tr_complete_handler() will call ep_nuke() on
both ep0/dir0 and ep/dir1 in the first loop. Pending reqeusts will be flushed
and completed here. There seems to be a race condition, the request is nuked,
but the request complete bit will be set, too. The subsequent check (in
ep0/dir1's loop cycle) for endpoint request list (mEp->qh.queue) empty will
fail.
Both other mainline chipidea drivers (mv_udc_core.c and fsl_udc_core.c) don't
have this check.

This patch changes the setup of the endpoint maxpacket size. All non control

This commit removes USB_GADGET_DUALSPEED and USB_GADGET_SUPERSPEED
Kconfig options. Since now kernel allows many UDC drivers to be
compiled, those options may turn to no longer be valid. For
instance, if someone decides to build UDC that supports super
speed and UDC that supports high speed only, the latter will be
"assumed" to support super speed since USB_GADGET_SUPERSPEED will
be selected by the former.
The test of whether CONFIG_USB_GADGET_*SPEED was defined was just
an optimisation which removed otherwise dead code (ie. if UDC is
not dual speed, there is no need to handle cases that can happen
if speed is high). This commit removes those checks.

Since commit "5e0aa49 usb: chipidea: use generic map/unmap routines",
the udc part of the chipidea driver needs the generic usb gadget helper
functions. If the chipidea driver with udc support is built into the
kernel and usb gadget is built a module, the linking of the kernel
fails with:
drivers/built-in.o: In function `_hardware_dequeue':
drivers/usb/chipidea/udc.c:527:
undefined reference to `usb_gadget_unmap_request'
drivers/usb/chipidea/udc.c:1269:

undefined reference to `usb_gadget_map_request'
drivers/usb/chipidea/udc.c:1774:
undefined reference to `usb_add_gadget_udc'
This patch changes the dependencies, so that udc support can only be
activated if the linux gadget support (USB_GADGET) is builtin or both
chipidea driver and USB_GADGET are modular. Same dependencies for the
chipidea host support and the linux host side USB support (USB).
While there, fix the indention of chipidea the help text.

This adds EHCI host support to the chipidea driver. We want it to be
part of the hdrc driver and not a standalone (sub-)driver module, as
the structure of ehci-hcd.c suggests, so for chipidea controller we
hack it to not provide platform-related code, but only the ehci hcd.
The ehci-platform driver won't work for us here too, because the
controller uses the same registers for both device and host mode and
also otg-related bits, so it's not really possible to put ehci registers
into a separate resource.
This is not a pretty solution, but the alternative is exporting symbols
from the chipidea driver to a ehci-chipidea driver and doing all the
module refcounting.

Add some generic code for roles and implement simple role switching
based on ID pin state and/or a sysfs file. At this, we also rename

The "manual" switch is made into a sysfs file and not debugfs, because
it might be useful even in non-debug context. For some boards, like
sheevaplug, it seems to be the only way to switch roles without modifying
