Andy Shevchenko 569fac7462 mfd: intel-lpss: Use MODULE_SOFTDEP() instead of implicit request
There is no need to handle optional module request in the driver
when user space tools has that feature for ages.

Replace custom code by MODULE_SOFTDEP() macro to let user space know
that we would like to have the DMA driver loaded first, if any.

Andy Shevchenko b9a801dfa5 mfd: Add support for Merrifield Basin Cove PMIC
Add an MFD driver for Intel Merrifield Basin Cove PMIC.

Firmware on the platforms which are using Basin Cove PMIC is "smarter"
than on the rest supported by vanilla kernel. It handles first level
of interrupt itself, while others do it on OS level.

The driver is done in the same way as the rest of Intel PMIC MFD drivers
in the kernel to support the initial design. The design allows to use
one driver among few PMICs without knowing implementation details of
the each hardware version or generation.

Kai-Heng Feng 76380a607b mfd: intel-lpss: Remove D3cold delay
Goodix touchpad may drop its first couple input events when
i2c-designware-platdrv and intel-lpss it connects to took too long to
runtime resume from runtime suspended state.

This issue happens becuase the touchpad has a rather small buffer to
store up to 13 input events, so if the host doesn't read those events in
time (i.e. runtime resume takes too long), events are dropped from the
touchpad's buffer.

The bottleneck is D3cold delay it waits when transitioning from D3cold
to D0, hence remove the delay to make the resume faster. I've tested
some systems with intel-lpss and haven't seen any regression.

mfd/syscon: Add device_node_to_regmap()
device_node_to_regmap() is exactly like syscon_node_to_regmap(), but it
does not check that the node is compatible with "syscon", and won't
attach the first clock it finds to the regmap.

The rationale behind this, is that one device node with a standard
compatible string "foo, bar" can be covered by multiple drivers sharing a
regmap, or by a single driver doing all the job without a regmap, but
these are implementation details which shouldn't reflect on the
devicetree.

Linus Torvalds f632a8170a Driver Core and debugfs changes for 5.3-rc1
Here is the "big" driver core and debugfs changes for 5.3-rc1

It's a lot of different patches, all across the tree due to some api
changes and lots of debugfs cleanups. Because of this, there is going
to be some merge issues with your tree at the moment, I'll follow up
with the expected resolutions to make it easier for you.

Other than the debugfs cleanups, in this set of changes we have:
 	- bus iteration function cleanups (will cause build warnings
with s390 and coresight drivers in your tree)
 	- scripts/get_abi.pl tool to display and parse Documentation/ABI
 	  entries in a simple way
 	- cleanups to Documenatation/ABI/ entries to make them parse
easier due to typos and other minor things
 	- default_attrs use for some ktype users
 	- driver model documentation file conversions to .rst
 	- compressed firmware file loading
 	- deferred probe fixes

All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with a bunch of merge
issues that Stephen has been patient with me for. Other than the merge
issues, functionality is working properly in linux-next :)

Stefan Mavrodiev ac195d9428 mfd: rk808: Prepare rk805 for poweroff
RK805 has SLEEP signal, which can put the device into SLEEP or OFF
mode. The default is SLEEP mode.

However, when the kernel performs power-off (actually the ATF) the
device will not go fully off and this will result in higher power
consumption and inability to wake the device with RTC alarm.

The solution is to enable pm_power_off_prepare function, which will
configure SLEEP pin for OFF function.

Arnd Bergmann 5da6cbcd2f mfd: arizona: Fix undefined behavior
When the driver is used with a subdevice that is disabled in the

control flow and fails to notice that n_subdevs is only
uninitialized when subdevs is NULL, and we check for that,
leading to a false-positive warning:

drivers/mfd/arizona-core.c:1423:19: error: variable 'n_subdevs' is uninitialized when used here
      [-Werror,-Wuninitialized]
                              subdevs, n_subdevs, NULL, 0, NULL);

Suzuki K Poulose 92ce7e83b4 driver_find_device: Unify the match function with class_find_device()
The driver_find_device() accepts a match function pointer to
filter the devices for lookup, similar to bus/class_find_device().
However, there is a minor difference in the prototype for the
match parameter for driver_find_device() with the now unified
version accepted by {bus/class}_find_device(), where it doesn't
accept a "const" qualifier for the data argument. This prevents
us from reusing the generic match functions for driver_find_device().

For this reason, change the prototype of the driver_find_device() to
make the "match" parameter in line with {bus/class}_find_device()
and adjust its callers to use the const qualifier. Also, we could
now promote the "data" parameter to const as we pass it down
as a const parameter to the match functions.

Dan Carpenter cd49b84d61 mfd: stmfx: Uninitialized variable in stmfx_irq_handler()
The problem is that on 64bit systems then we don't clear the higher
bits of the "pending" variable. So when we do:

        ack = pending & ~BIT(STMFX_REG_IRQ_SRC_EN_GPIO);
        if (ack) {

the if (ack) condition relies on uninitialized data. The fix it that
I've changed "pending" from an unsigned long to a u32. I changed "n" as
well, because that's a number in the 0-10 range and it fits easily
inside an int. We do need to add a cast to "pending" when we use it in
the for_each_set_bit() loop, but that doesn't cause a problem, it's
fine.

Now that we've gotten rid of clk_readl() we can remove io.h from the
clk-provider header and push out the io.h include to any code that isn't
already including the io.h header but using things like readl/writel,
etc.

I also reordered a couple includes when they weren't alphabetical and

Enric Balletbo i Serra 4f8f2bb7ab mfd: cros_ec: Instantiate properly CrOS Touchpad MCU device
Support Touchpad MCU as a special of CrOS EC devices. The current
Touchpad MCU is used on Eve Chromebook and used the same protocol as
other CrOS EC devices.

When a MCU has touchpad support (aka EC_FEATURE_TOUCHPAD), it is
instantiated as a special CrOS EC device with device name 'cros_tp'. So
regardless of the probing order between the actual cros_ec and cros_tp,
the userspace and other kernel drivers should not confuse them.

Support Fingerprint MCU as a special of CrOS EC devices. The current FP

The AXP223 can be used both using the RSB proprietary bus, or a more
traditional I2C bus. The RSB is a faster bus and provides more features
(like some integrity checks on the messages), so it's usually preferrable

multi-master setup, the i2c might make sense as well.

Tony Lindgren 48171d0ea7 mfd: twl6040: Fix device init errors for ACCCTL register
I noticed that we can get a -EREMOTEIO errors on at least omap4 duovero:

twl6040 0-004b: Failed to write 2d = 19: -121

And then any following register access will produce errors.

There 2d offset above is register ACCCTL that gets written on twl6040
powerup. With error checking added to the related regcache_sync() call,
the -EREMOTEIO error is reproducable on twl6040 powerup at least
duovero.

To fix the error, we need to wait until twl6040 is accessible after the
powerup. Based on tests on omap4 duovero, we need to wait over 8ms after
powerup before register write will complete without failures. Let's also
make sure we warn about possible errors too.

Note that we have twl6040_patch[] reg_sequence with the ACCCTL register
configuration and regcache_sync() will write the new value to ACCCTL.
