Sowmini Varadhan d5566fd72e rtnetlink: RTEXT_FILTER_SKIP_STATS support to avoid dumping inet/inet6 stats
Many commonly used functions like getifaddrs() invoke RTM_GETLINK
to dump the interface information, and do not need the
the AF_INET6 statististics that are always returned by default
from rtnl_fill_ifinfo().

Computing the statistics can be an expensive operation that impacts
scaling, so it is desirable to avoid this if the information is
not needed.

This patch adds a the RTEXT_FILTER_SKIP_STATS extended info flag that
can be passed with netlink_request() to avoid statistics computation
for the ifinfo path.

Martin KaFai Lau 8e3d5be736 ipv6: Avoid double dst_free
It is a prep work to get dst freeing from fib tree undergo
a rcu grace period.

The following is a common paradigm:
if (ip6_del_rt(rt))
	dst_free(rt)

which means, if rt cannot be deleted from the fib tree, dst_free(rt) now.
1. We don't know the ip6_del_rt(rt) failure is because it
   was not managed by fib tree (e.g. DST_NOCACHE) or it had already been
   removed from the fib tree.
2. If rt had been managed by the fib tree, ip6_del_rt(rt) failure means
   dst_free(rt) has been called already.  A second
   dst_free(rt) is not always obviously safe.  The rt may have
   been destroyed already.
3. If rt is a DST_NOCACHE, dst_free(rt) should not be called.
4. It is a stopper to make dst freeing from fib tree undergo a
   rcu grace period.

This patch is to use a DST_NOCACHE flag to indicate a rt is
not managed by the fib tree.

Martin KaFai Lau cdf3464e6c ipv6: Fix dst_entry refcnt bugs in ip6_tunnel
Problems in the current dst_entry cache in the ip6_tunnel:

1. ip6_tnl_dst_set is racy.  There is no lock to protect it:
   - One major problem is that the dst refcnt gets messed up. F.e.
     the same dst_cache can be released multiple times and then
     triggering the infamous dst refcnt < 0 warning message.
   - Another issue is the inconsistency between dst_cache and
     dst_cookie.

   It can be reproduced by adding and removing the ip6gre tunnel
   while running a super_netperf TCP_CRR test.

2. ip6_tnl_dst_get does not take the dst refcnt before returning
   the dst.

This patch:
1. Create a percpu dst_entry cache in ip6_tnl
2. Use a spinlock to protect the dst_cache operations
3. ip6_tnl_dst_get always takes the dst refcnt before returning

2. ip6_tnl_dst_store() to ip6_tnl_dst_set() to have a more
   conventional name matching with ip6_tnl_dst_get().

Mathias Krause 04a6b8bfee xfrm6: Fix ICMPv6 and MH header checks in _decode_session6
Ensure there's enough data left prior calling pskb_may_pull(). If
skb->data was already advanced, we'll call pskb_may_pull() with a
negative value converted to unsigned int -- leading to a huge
positive value. That won't matter in practice as pskb_may_pull()
will likely fail in this case, but it leads to underflow reports on
kernels handling such kind of over-/underflows, e.g. a PaX enabled
kernel instrumented with the size_overflow plugin.

Phil Sutter f53de1e9a4 net: ipv6: use common fib_default_rule_pref
This switches IPv6 policy routing to use the shared
fib_default_rule_pref() function of IPv4 and DECnet. It is also used in
multicast routing for IPv4 as well as IPv6.

The motivation for this patch is a complaint about iproute2 behaving
inconsistent between IPv4 and IPv6 when adding policy rules: Formerly,
IPv6 rules were assigned a fixed priority of 0x3FFF whereas for IPv4 the
assigned priority value was decreased with each rule added.

Since then all users of the default_pref field have been converted to
assign the generic function fib_default_rule_pref(), fib_nl_newrule()
may just use it directly instead. Therefore get rid of the function
pointer altogether and make fib_default_rule_pref() static, as it's not
used outside fib_rules.c anymore.

Roopa Prabhu 6b9ea5a64e ipv6: fix multipath route replace error recovery
Problem:
The ecmp route replace support for ipv6 in the kernel, deletes the
existing ecmp route too early, ie when it installs the first nexthop.
If there is an error in installing the subsequent nexthops, its too late
to recover the already deleted existing route leaving the fib
in an inconsistent state.

This patch reduces the possibility of this by doing the following:
a) Changes the existing multipath route add code to a two stage process:
  build rt6_infos + insert them
	ip6_route_add rt6_info creation code is moved into
	ip6_route_info_create.
b) This ensures that most errors are caught during building rt6_infos
  and we fail early
c) Separates multipath add and del code. Because add needs the special
  two stage mode in a) and delete essentially does not care.
d) In any event if the code fails during inserting a route again, a
  warning is printed (This should be unlikely)

Pull inifiniband/rdma updates from Doug Ledford:

Richard Laing 25b4a44c19 net/ipv6: Correct PIM6 mrt_lock handling
In the IPv6 multicast routing code the mrt_lock was not being released
correctly in the MFC iterator, as a result adding or deleting a MIF would
cause a hang because the mrt_lock could not be acquired.

This fix is a copy of the code for the IPv4 case and ensures that the lock
is released correctly.

Herbert Xu 93efac3f2e ipv6: Fix IPsec pre-encap fragmentation check
The IPv6 IPsec pre-encap path performs fragmentation for tunnel-mode
packets.  That is, we perform fragmentation pre-encap rather than
post-encap.

A check was added later to ensure that proper MTU information is
passed back for locally generated traffic.  Unfortunately this
check was performed on all IPsec packets, including transport-mode
packets.

What's more, the check failed to take GSO into account.

The end result is that transport-mode GSO packets get dropped at
the check.

This patch fixes it by moving the tunnel mode check forward as well
as adding the GSO check.

We previously register IPPROTO_ROUTING offload under inet6_add_offload(),
but in error path, we try to unregister it with inet_del_offload(). This
doesn't seem correct, it should actually be inet6_del_offload(), also
ipv6_exthdrs_offload_exit() from that commit seems rather incorrect (it
also uses rthdr_offload twice), but it got removed entirely later on.

Marius Tomaschewski a394eef562 ipv6: send NEWLINK on RA managed/otherconf changes
The kernel is applying the RA managed/otherconf flags silently and
forgets to send ifinfo notify to inform about their change when the
router provides a zero reachable_time and retrans_timer as dnsmasq
and many routers send it, which just means unspecified by this router
and the host should continue using whatever value it is already using.
Userspace may monitor the ifinfo notifications to activate dhcpv6.

Daniel Borkmann c3a8d94746 tcp: use dctcp if enabled on the route to the initiator
Currently, the following case doesn't use DCTCP, even if it should:
A responder has f.e. Cubic as system wide default, but for a specific
route to the initiating host, DCTCP is being set in RTAX_CC_ALGO. The
initiating host then uses DCTCP as congestion control, but since the
initiator sets ECT(0), tcp_ecn_create_request() doesn't set ecn_ok,
and we have to fall back to Reno after 3WHS completes.

We were thinking on how to solve this in a minimal, non-intrusive
way without bloating tcp_ecn_create_request() needlessly: lets cache
the CA ecn option flag in RTAX_FEATURES. In other words, when ECT(0)
is set on the SYN packet, set ecn_ok=1 iff route RTAX_FEATURES
contains the unexposed (internal-only) DST_FEATURE_ECN_CA. This allows
to only do a single metric feature lookup inside tcp_ecn_create_request().

Raghavendra K T a3a773726c net: Optimize snmp stat aggregation by walking all the percpu data at once
Docker container creation linearly increased from around 1.6 sec to 7.5 sec
(at 1000 containers) and perf data showed 50% ovehead in snmp_fold_field.

reason: currently __snmp6_fill_stats64 calls snmp_fold_field that walks
through per cpu data of an item (iteratively for around 36 items).

idea: This patch tries to aggregate the statistics by going through
all the items of each cpu sequentially which is reducing cache
misses.

Docker creation got faster by more than 2x after the patch.

Matan Barak 399e6f9581 net/ipv6: Export addrconf_ifid_eui48
For loopback purposes, RoCE devices should have a default GID in the
port GID table, even when the interface is down. In order to do so,
we use the IPv6 link local address which would have been genenrated
for the related Ethernet netdevice when it goes up as a default GID.

addrconf_ifid_eui48 is used to gernerate this address, export it.

Jiri Benc a43a9ef6a2 vxlan: do not receive IPv4 packets on IPv6 socket
By default (subject to the sysctl settings), IPv6 sockets listen also for
IPv4 traffic. Vxlan is not prepared for that and expects IPv6 header in
packets received through an IPv6 socket.

In addition, it's currently not possible to have both IPv4 and IPv6 vxlan
tunnel on the same port (unless bindv6only sysctl is enabled), as it's not
possible to create and bind both IPv4 and IPv6 vxlan interfaces and there's
no way to specify both IPv4 and IPv6 remote/group IP addresses.

Set IPV6_V6ONLY on vxlan sockets to fix both of these issues. This is not
done globally in udp_tunnel, as l2tp and tipc seems to work okay when
receiving IPv4 packets on IPv6 socket and people may rely on this behavior.
The other tunnels (geneve and fou) do not support IPv6.

Andreas Herz 1afe839e6b netfilter: ip6t_REJECT: added missing icmpv6 codes
RFC 4443 added two new codes values for ICMPv6 type 1:

 5 - Source address failed ingress/egress policy
 6 - Reject route to destination

And RFC 7084 states in L-14 that IPv6 Router MUST send ICMPv6 Destination
Unreachable with code 5 for packets forwarded to it that use an address
from a prefix that has been invalidated.

Codes 5 and 6 are more informative subsets of code 1.

Add cfg and family arguments to lwt build state functions. cfg is a void
pointer and will either be a pointer to a fib_config or fib6_config
structure. The family parameter indicates which one (either AF_INET
or AF_INET6).

LWT encpasulation implementation may use the fib configuration to build
the LWT state.

Jiri Benc 61adedf3e3 route: move lwtunnel state to dst_entry
Currently, the lwtunnel state resides in per-protocol data. This is
a problem if we encapsulate ipv6 traffic in an ipv4 tunnel (or vice versa).
The xmit function of the tunnel does not know whether the packet has been
routed to it by ipv4 or ipv6, yet it needs the lwtstate data. Moving the
lwtstate data to dst_entry makes such inter-protocol tunneling possible.

As a bonus, this brings a nice diffstat.

Tom Herbert 65d7ab8de5 net: Identifier Locator Addressing module
Adding new module name ila. This implements ILA translation. Light
weight tunnel redirection is used to perform the translation in
the data path. This is configured by the "ip -6 route" command
using the "encap ila <locator>" option, where <locator> is the
value to set in destination locator of the packet. e.g.

ip -6 route add 3333:0:0:1:5555:0:1:0/128 \
      encap ila 2001:0:0:1 via 2401:db00:20:911a:face:0:25:0

Sets a route where 3333:0:0:1 will be overwritten by
2001:0:0:1 on output.

Daniel Borkmann 5e8018fc61 netfilter: nf_conntrack: add efficient mark to zone mapping
This work adds the possibility of deriving the zone id from the skb->mark
field in a scalable manner. This allows for having only a single template
serving hundreds/thousands of different zones, for example, instead of the
need to have one match for each zone as an extra CT jump target.

Note that we'd need to have this information attached to the template as at
the time when we're trying to lookup a possible ct object, we already need
to know zone information for a possible match when going into
__nf_conntrack_find_get(). This work provides a minimal implementation for
a possible mapping.

In order to not add/expose an extra ct->status bit, the zone structure has
been extended to carry a flag for deriving the mark.

Daniel Borkmann deedb59039 netfilter: nf_conntrack: add direction support for zones
This work adds a direction parameter to netfilter zones, so identity
separation can be performed only in original/reply or both directions
(default). This basically opens up the possibility of doing NAT with
conflicting IP address/port tuples from multiple, isolated tenants
on a host (e.g. from a netns) without requiring each tenant to NAT
twice resp. to use its own dedicated IP address to SNAT to, meaning
overlapping tuples can be made unique with the zone identifier in
original direction, where the NAT engine will then allocate a unique
tuple in the commonly shared default zone for the reply direction.
In some restricted, local DNAT cases, also port redirection could be
used for making the reply traffic unique w/o requiring SNAT.

The consensus we've reached and discussed at NFWS and since the initial
implementation [1] was to directly integrate the direction meta data
into the existing zones infrastructure, as opposed to the ct->mark
approach we proposed initially.

As we pass the nf_conntrack_zone object directly around, we don't have
to touch all call-sites, but only those, that contain equality checks
of zones. Thus, based on the current direction (original or reply),
we either return the actual id, or the default NF_CT_DEFAULT_ZONE_ID.
CT expectations are direction-agnostic entities when expectations are
being compared among themselves, so we can only use the identifier
in this case.

Note that zone identifiers can not be included into the hash mix
anymore as they don't contain a "stable" value that would be equal
for both directions at all times, f.e. if only zone->id would
unconditionally be xor'ed into the table slot hash, then replies won't
find the corresponding conntracking entry anymore.

If no particular direction is specified when configuring zones, the
behaviour is exactly as we expect currently (both directions).

Support has been added for the CT netlink interface as well as the
x_tables raw CT target, which both already offer existing interfaces
to user space for the configuration of zones.

Below a minimal, simplified collision example (script in [2]) with
netperf sessions:

Taking this further, test script in [2] creates 200 tenants and runs
original-tuple colliding netperf sessions each. A conntrack -L dump in
the gateway netns also confirms 200 overlapping entries, all in ESTABLISHED
state as expected.

I also did run various other tests with some permutations of the script,
to mention some: SNAT in random/random-fully/persistent mode, no zones (no
overlaps), static zones (original, reply, both directions), etc.

rt6_make_pcpu_route() is called under read_lock(&table->tb6_lock).
rt6_make_pcpu_route() calls ip6_rt_pcpu_alloc(rt) which then
calls dst_alloc().  dst_alloc() _may_ call ip6_dst_gc() which takes
the write_lock(&tabl->tb6_lock).  A visualized version:

Like the ipv4 patch with a similar title, this adds a sysctl to allow
the user to change routing behavior based on whether or not the
interface associated with the nexthop was an up or down link.  The
default setting preserves the current behavior, but anyone that enables
it will notice that nexthops on down interfaces will no longer be
selected:

Linus Lüssing a516993f0a net: fix wrong skb_get() usage / crash in IGMP/MLD parsing code
The recent refactoring of the IGMP and MLD parsing code into
ipv6_mc_check_mld() / ip_mc_check_igmp() introduced a potential crash /
BUG() invocation for bridges:

I wrongly assumed that skb_get() could be used as a simple reference
counter for an skb which is not the case. skb_get() bears additional
semantics, a user count. This leads to a BUG() invocation in
pskb_expand_head() / kernel panic if pskb_may_pull() is called on an skb
with a user count greater than one - unfortunately the refactoring did
just that.

Fixing this by removing the skb_get() call and changing the API: The
caller of ipv6_mc_check_mld() / ip_mc_check_igmp() now needs to
additionally check whether the returned skb_trimmed is a clone.

Thomas Egerer eae8dee992 xfrm6: Fix IPv6 ECN decapsulation
Using ipv6_get_dsfield on the outer IP header implies that inner and
outer header are of the the same address family. For interfamily
tunnels, particularly 646, the code reading the DSCP field obtains the
wrong values (IHL and the upper four bits of the DSCP field).
This can cause the code to detect a congestion encoutered state in the
outer header and enable the corresponding bits in the inner header, too.

Since the DSCP field is stored in the xfrm mode common buffer
independently from the IP version of the outer header, it's safe (and
correct) to take this value from there.

Daniel Borkmann 308ac9143e netfilter: nf_conntrack: push zone object into functions
This patch replaces the zone id which is pushed down into functions
with the actual zone object. It's a bigger one-time change, but
needed for later on extending zones with a direction parameter, and
thus decoupling this additional information from all call-sites.

No functional changes in this patch.

The default zone becomes a global const object, namely nf_ct_zone_dflt
and will be returned directly in various cases, one being, when there's
f.e. no zoning support.

48ed7b26fa ("ipv6: reject locally assigned nexthop addresses") is too
strict; it rejects following corner-case:

Phil Sutter 3c16241c44 netfilter: SYNPROXY: fix sending window update to client
Upon receipt of SYNACK from the server, ipt_SYNPROXY first sends back an ACK to
finish the server handshake, then calls nf_ct_seqadj_init() to initiate
sequence number adjustment of forwarded packets to the client and finally sends
a window update to the client to unblock it's TX queue.

Since synproxy_send_client_ack() does not set synproxy_send_tcp()'s nfct
parameter, no sequence number adjustment happens and the client receives the
window update with incorrect sequence number. Depending on client TCP
implementation, this leads to a significant delay (until a window probe is
being sent).

Tom Herbert be26849bfb ipv6: Disable flowlabel state ranges by default
Per RFC6437 stateful flow labels (e.g. labels set by flow label manager)
cannot "disturb" nodes taking part in stateless flow labels. While the
ranges only reduce the flow label entropy by one bit, it is conceivable
that this might bias the algorithm on some routers causing a load
imbalance. For best results on the Internet we really need the full
20 bits.

Roopa Prabhu 343d60aada ipv6: change ipv6_stub_impl.ipv6_dst_lookup to take net argument
This patch adds net argument to ipv6_stub_impl.ipv6_dst_lookup
for use cases where sk is not available (like mpls).
sk appears to be needed to get the namespace 'net' and is optional
otherwise. This patch series changes ipv6_stub_impl.ipv6_dst_lookup
to take net argument. sk remains optional.

All callers of ipv6_stub_impl.ipv6_dst_lookup have been modified
to pass net. I have modified them to use already available
'net' in the scope of the call. I can change them to
sock_net(sk) to avoid any unintended change in behaviour if sock
namespace is different. They dont seem to be from code inspection.

Hangbin Liu 8013d1d7ea net/ipv6: add sysctl option accept_ra_min_hop_limit
Commit 6fd99094de ("ipv6: Don't reduce hop limit for an interface")
disabled accept hop limit from RA if it is smaller than the current hop
limit for security stuff. But this behavior kind of break the RFC definition.

RFC 4861, 6.3.4.  Processing Received Router Advertisements
   A Router Advertisement field (e.g., Cur Hop Limit, Reachable Time,
   and Retrans Timer) may contain a value denoting that it is
   unspecified.  In such cases, the parameter should be ignored and the
   host should continue using whatever value it is already using.

   If the received Cur Hop Limit value is non-zero, the host SHOULD set
   its CurHopLimit variable to the received value.

So add sysctl option accept_ra_min_hop_limit to let user choose the minimum
hop limit value they can accept from RA. And set default to 1 to meet RFC
standards.

Eric Dumazet c8507fb235 ipv6: flush nd cache on IFF_NOARP change
This patch is the IPv6 equivalent of commit
6c8b4e3ff8 ("arp: flush arp cache on IFF_NOARP change")

Without it, we keep buggy neighbours in the cache, with destination
MAC address equal to our own MAC address.

Tom Herbert 877d1f6291 net: Set sk_txhash from a random number
This patch creates sk_set_txhash and eliminates protocol specific
inet_set_txhash and ip6_set_txhash. sk_set_txhash simply sets a
random number instead of performing flow dissection. sk_set_txash
is also allowed to be called multiple times for the same socket,
we'll need this when redoing the hash for negative routing advice.

The patch checks neigh->nud_state before acquiring the writer lock.
Note that rt6_probe() is only used in CONFIG_IPV6_ROUTER_PREF.

40 udpflood processes and a /64 gateway route are used.
The gateway has NUD_PERMANENT.  Each of them is run for 30s.
At the end, the total number of finished sendto():

After: 95M

We can simply remove the INET_FRAG_EVICTED flag to avoid all the flags
race conditions with the evictor and use a participation test for the
evictor list, when we're at that point (after inet_frag_kill) in the
timer there're 2 possible cases:

1. The evictor added the entry to its evictor list while the timer was
waiting for the chainlock
or
2. The timer unchained the entry and the evictor won't see it

In both cases we should be able to see list_evictor correctly due
to the sync on the chainlock.

Phil Sutter a0a9f33bdf net/ipv6: update flowi6_oif in ip6_dst_lookup_flow if not set
Newly created flows don't have flowi6_oif set (at least if the
associated socket is not interface-bound). This leads to a mismatch in
__xfrm6_selector_match() for policies which specify an interface in the
selector (sel->ifindex != 0).

Backtracing shows this happens in code-paths originating from e.g.
ip6_datagram_connect(), rawv6_sendmsg() or tcp_v6_connect(). (UDP was
not tested for.)

In summary, this patch fixes policy matching on outgoing interface for
locally generated packets.

Florian Westphal 7814b6ec6d netfilter: xtables: don't save/restore jumpstack offset
In most cases there is no reentrancy into ip/ip6tables.

For skbs sent by REJECT or SYNPROXY targets, there is one level
of reentrancy, but its not relevant as those targets issue an absolute
verdict, i.e. the jumpstack can be clobbered since its not used
after the target issues absolute verdict (ACCEPT, DROP, STOLEN, etc).

So the only special case where it is relevant is the TEE target, which
returns XT_CONTINUE.

This patch changes ip(6)_do_table to always use the jump stack starting
from 0.

When we detect we're operating on an skb sent via TEE (percpu
nf_skb_duplicated is 1) we switch to an alternate stack to leave
the original one alone.

Since there is no TEE support for arptables, it doesn't need to
test if tee is active.

The jump stack overflow tests are no longer needed as well --
since ->stacksize is the largest call depth we cannot exceed it.

A much better alternative to the external jumpstack would be to just
declare a jumps[32] stack on the local stack frame, but that would mean
we'd have to reject iptables rulesets that used to work before.

Another alternative would be to start rejecting rulesets with a larger
call depth, e.g. 1000 -- in this case it would be feasible to allocate the
entire stack in the percpu area which would avoid one dereference.

The {arp,ip,ip6tables} jump stack is currently sized based
on the number of user chains.

However, its rather unlikely that every user defined chain jumps to the
next, so lets use the existing loop detection logic to also track the
chain depths.

The stacksize is then set to the largest chain depth seen.

Tom Herbert de551f2eb2 net: Build IPv6 into kernel by default
This patch makes the default to build IPv6 into the kernel. IPv6
now has significant traction and any remaining vestiges of IPv6
not being provided parity with IPv4 should be swept away. IPv6 is now
core to the Internet and kernel.

Points on IPv6 adoption:

- Per Google statistics, IPv6 usage has reached 7% on the Internet
  and continues to exhibit an exponential growth rate
  https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html
- Just a few days ago ARIN officially depleted its IPv4 pool
- IPv6 only data centers are being successfully built
  (e.g. at Facebook)

This patch changes the IPv6 Kconfig for IPV6. Default for CONFIG_IPV6
is set to "y" and the text has been updated to reflect the maturity of
IPv6.

Impact:

Under some circumstances building modules in to kernel might have a
performance advantage. In my testing, I did notice a very slight
improvement.

This will obviously increase the size of the kernel image. In my
configuration I see:

IPv6 as module:

IPv6 built into kernel

Which increases text size by ~270K (2.8% increase in size for me). If
image size is an issue, presumably for a device which does not do IP
networking (IMO we should be discouraging IPv4-only devices), IPV6 can
be disabled or still built as a module.

Non-local binds are very useful in emulating the Internet in a box, etc.

This add the ip_nonlocal_bind sysctl under ipv6.

Testing:

Set up nonlocal binding and receive routing on a host, e.g.:

ip -6 rule add from ::/0 iif eth0 lookup 200
ip -6 route add local 2001:0:0:1::/64 dev lo proto kernel scope host table 200
sysctl -w net.ipv6.ip_nonlocal_bind=1

Set up routing to 2001:0:0:1::/64 on peer to go to first host

ping6 -I 2001:0:0:1::1 peer-address -- to verify

Julian Anastasov 34b99df4e6 ip: report the original address of ICMP messages
ICMP messages can trigger ICMP and local errors. In this case
serr->port is 0 and starting from Linux 4.0 we do not return
the original target address to the error queue readers.
Add function to define which errors provide addr_offset.
With this fix my ping command is not silent anymore.

Pablo Neira Ayuso a263653ed7 netfilter: don't pull include/linux/netfilter.h from netns headers
This pulls the full hook netfilter definitions from all those that include
net_namespace.h.

Instead let's just include the bare minimum required in the new
linux/netfilter_defs.h file, and use it from the netfilter netns header files.

I also needed to include in.h and in6.h from linux/netfilter.h otherwise we hit
this compilation error:

Eric Dumazet 711bdde6a8 netfilter: x_tables: remove XT_TABLE_INFO_SZ and a dereference.
After Florian patches, there is no need for XT_TABLE_INFO_SZ anymore :
Only one copy of table is kept, instead of one copy per cpu.

We also can avoid a dereference if we put table data right after
xt_table_info. It reduces register pressure and helps compiler.

Then, we attempt a kmalloc() if total size is under order-3 allocation,
to reduce TLB pressure, as in many cases, rules fit in 32 KB.

Florian Westphal 482cfc3185 netfilter: xtables: avoid percpu ruleset duplication
We store the rule blob per (possible) cpu.  Unfortunately this means we can
waste lot of memory on big smp machines. ipt_entry structure ('rule head')
is 112 byte, so e.g. with maxcpu=64 one single rule eats
close to 8k RAM.

Since previous patch made counters percpu it appears there is nothing
left in the rule blob that needs to be percpu.

On my test system (144 possible cpus, 400k dummy rules) this
change saves close to 9 Gigabyte of RAM.

Florian Westphal 71ae0dff02 netfilter: xtables: use percpu rule counters
The binary arp/ip/ip6tables ruleset is stored per cpu.

The only reason left as to why we need percpu duplication are the rule
counters embedded into ipt_entry et al -- since each cpu has its own copy
of the rules, all counters can be lockless.

The downside is that the more cpus are supported, the more memory is
required.  Rules are not just duplicated per online cpu but for each
possible cpu, i.e. if maxcpu is 144, then rule is duplicated 144 times,
not for the e.g. 64 cores present.

To save some memory and also improve utilization of shared caches it
would be preferable to only store the rule blob once.

So we first need to separate counters and the rule blob.

Instead of using entry->counters, allocate this percpu and store the
percpu address in entry->counters.pcnt on CONFIG_SMP.

This change makes no sense as-is; it is merely an intermediate step to
remove the percpu duplication of the rule set in a followup patch.

IPv6 fragmented packets are not forwarded on an ethernet bridge
with netfilter ip6_tables loaded. e.g. steps to reproduce

1) create a simple bridge like this

        modprobe br_netfilter

        brctl addif br0 eth0
        brctl addif br0 eth2
        ifconfig eth0 up
        ifconfig eth2 up
        ifconfig br0 up

2) place a host with an IPv6 address on each side of the bridge

        set IPv6 address on host A:
        ip -6 addr add fd01:2345:6789:1::1/64 dev eth0

        set IPv6 address on host B:
        ip -6 addr add fd01:2345:6789:1::2/64 dev eth0

3) run a simple ping command on host A with packets > MTU

        ping6 -s 4000 fd01:2345:6789:1::2

4) wait some time and run e.g. "ip6tables -t nat -nvL" on the bridge

IPv6 fragmented packets traverse the bridge cleanly until somebody runs.
"ip6tables -t nat -nvL". As soon as it is run (and netfilter modules are
loaded) IPv6 fragmented packets do not traverse the bridge any more (you
see no more responses in ping's output).

After applying this patch IPv6 fragmented packets traverse the bridge
cleanly in above scenario.

Bernhard Thaler 72b31f7271 netfilter: bridge: detect NAT66 correctly and change MAC address
IPv4 iptables allows to REDIRECT/DNAT/SNAT any traffic over a bridge.

e.g. REDIRECT
$ sysctl -w net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables=1
$ iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -m tcp --dport 8080 \
  -j REDIRECT --to-ports 81

This does not work with ip6tables on a bridge in NAT66 scenario
because the REDIRECT/DNAT/SNAT is not correctly detected.

The bridge pre-routing (finish) netfilter hook has to check for a possible
redirect and then fix the destination mac address. This allows to use the
ip6tables rules for local REDIRECT/DNAT/SNAT REDIRECT similar to the IPv4
iptables version.

e.g. REDIRECT
$ sysctl -w net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-ip6tables=1
$ ip6tables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -m tcp --dport 8080 \
  -j REDIRECT --to-ports 81

This patch makes it possible to use IPv6 NAT66 on a bridge. It was tested
on a bridge with two interfaces using SNAT/DNAT NAT66 rules.

Josh Hunt 0243508edd ipv6: Fix protocol resubmission
UDP encapsulation is broken on IPv6. This is because the logic to resubmit
the nexthdr is inverted, checking for a ret value > 0 instead of < 0. Also,
the resubmit label is in the wrong position since we already get the
nexthdr value when performing decapsulation. In addition the skb pull is no
longer necessary either.

This changes the return value check to look for < 0, using it for the
nexthdr on the next iteration, and moves the resubmit label to the proper
location.

With these changes the v6 code now matches what we do in the v4 ip input
code wrt resubmitting when decapsulating.

Robert Shearman 27e41fcfa6 ipv6: fix possible use after free of dev stats
The memory pointed to by idev->stats.icmpv6msgdev,
idev->stats.icmpv6dev and idev->stats.ipv6 can each be used in an RCU
read context without taking a reference on idev. For example, through
IP6_*_STATS_* calls in ip6_rcv. These memory blocks are freed without
waiting for an RCU grace period to elapse. This could lead to the
memory being written to after it has been freed.

Fix this by using call_rcu to free the memory used for stats, as well
as idev after an RCU grace period has elapsed.

Eric Dumazet 90c337da15 inet: add IP_BIND_ADDRESS_NO_PORT to overcome bind(0) limitations
When an application needs to force a source IP on an active TCP socket
it has to use bind(IP, port=x).

As most applications do not want to deal with already used ports, x is
often set to 0, meaning the kernel is in charge to find an available
port.
But kernel does not know yet if this socket is going to be a listener or
be connected.
It has very limited choices (no full knowledge of final 4-tuple for a
connect())

With limited ephemeral port range (about 32K ports), it is very easy to
fill the space.

This patch adds a new SOL_IP socket option, asking kernel to ignore
the 0 port provided by application in bind(IP, port=0) and only
remember the given IP address.

The port will be automatically chosen at connect() time, in a way
that allows sharing a source port as long as the 4-tuples are unique.

This new feature is available for both IPv4 and IPv6 (Thanks Neal)

Tested:

Wrote a test program and checked its behavior on IPv4 and IPv6.

strace(1) shows sequences of bind(IP=127.0.0.2, port=0) followed by
connect().
Also getsockname() show that the port is still 0 right after bind()
but properly allocated after connect().

tcp_v4_rcv() checks the following before calling tcp_v4_do_rcv():

So following check in tcp_v4_do_rcv() is redundant
and "goto csum_err;" is wrong anyway.

A second check can be removed after no_tcp_socket label for same reason.

Same tests can be removed in tcp_v6_do_rcv()

Note : short tcp frames are not properly accounted in tcpInErrs MIB,

Steffen Klassert ccd740cbc6 vti6: Add pmtu handling to vti6_xmit.
We currently rely on the PMTU discovery of xfrm.
However if a packet is localy sent, the PMTU mechanism
of xfrm tries to to local socket notification what
might not work for applications like ping that don't
check for this. So add pmtu handling to vti6_xmit to
report MTU changes immediately.

Eric Dumazet beb39db59d udp: fix behavior of wrong checksums
We have two problems in UDP stack related to bogus checksums :

1) We return -EAGAIN to application even if receive queue is not empty.
   This breaks applications using edge trigger epoll()

2) Under UDP flood, we can loop forever without yielding to other
   processes, potentially hanging the host, especially on non SMP.

This patch is an attempt to make things better.

We might in the future add extra support for rt applications
wanting to better control time spent doing a recv() in a hostile
environment. For example we could validate checksums before queuing
packets in socket receive queue.

The vti6_rcv_cb and vti_rcv_cb calls were leaving the skb->mark modified
after completing the function.  This resulted in the original skb->mark
value being lost.  Since we only need skb->mark to be set for
xfrm_policy_check we can pull the assignment into the rcv_cb calls and then
just restore the original mark after xfrm_policy_check has been completed.

Florian Westphal 485fca664d ipv6: don't increase size when refragmenting forwarded ipv6 skbs
since commit 6aafeef03b ("netfilter: push reasm skb through instead of
original frag skbs") we will end up sometimes re-fragmenting skbs
that we've reassembled.

ipv6 defrag preserves the original skbs using the skb frag list, i.e. as long
as the skb frag list is preserved there is no problem since we keep
original geometry of fragments intact.

However, in the rare case where the frag list is munged or skb
is linearized, we might send larger fragments than what we originally
received.

A router in the path might then send packet-too-big errors even if
sender never sent fragments exceeding the reported mtu:

mtu 1500 - 1500:1400 - 1400:1280 - 1280
     A         R1         R2        B

1 - A sends to B, fragment size 1400
2 - R2 sends pkttoobig error for 1280
3 - A sends to B, fragment size 1280
4 - R2 sends pkttoobig error for 1280 again because it sees fragments of size 1400.

make sure ip6_fragment always caps MTU at largest packet size seen
when defragmented skb is forwarded.

Martin KaFai Lau 48e8aa6e31 ipv6: Set FLOWI_FLAG_KNOWN_NH at flowi6_flags
The neighbor look-up used to depend on the rt6i_gateway (if
there is a gateway) or the rt6i_dst (if it is a RTF_CACHE clone)
as the nexthop address.  Note that rt6i_dst is set to fl6->daddr
for the RTF_CACHE clone where fl6->daddr is the one used to do
the route look-up.

Now, we only create RTF_CACHE clone after encountering exception.
When doing the neighbor look-up with a route that is neither a gateway
nor a RTF_CACHE clone, the daddr in skb will be used as the nexthop.

In some cases, the daddr in skb is not the one used to do
the route look-up.  One example is in ip_vs_dr_xmit_v6() where the
real nexthop server address is different from the one in the skb.

This patch is going to follow the IPv4 approach and ask the
ip6_pol_route() callers to set the FLOWI_FLAG_KNOWN_NH properly.

In the next patch, ip6_pol_route() will honor the FLOWI_FLAG_KNOWN_NH
and create a RTF_CACHE clone.

Marcelo Ricardo Leitner 2efd055c53 tcp: add tcpi_segs_in and tcpi_segs_out to tcp_info
This patch tracks the total number of inbound and outbound segments on a
TCP socket. One may use this number to have an idea on connection
quality when compared against the retransmissions.

RFC4898 named these : tcpEStatsPerfSegsIn and tcpEStatsPerfSegsOut

These are a 32bit field each and can be fetched both from TCP_INFO
getsockopt() if one has a handle on a TCP socket, or from inet_diag
netlink facility (iproute2/ss patch will follow)

Note that tp->segs_out was placed near tp->snd_nxt for good data
locality and minimal performance impact, while tp->segs_in was placed
near tp->bytes_received for the same reason.

Join work with Eric Dumazet.

Note that received SYN are accounted on the listener, but sent SYNACK
are not accounted.

Michal Kubeček 2759647247 ipv6: fix ECMP route replacement
When replacing an IPv6 multipath route with "ip route replace", i.e.
NLM_F_CREATE | NLM_F_REPLACE, fib6_add_rt2node() replaces only first
matching route without fixing its siblings, resulting in corrupted
siblings linked list; removing one of the siblings can then end in an
infinite loop.

IPv6 ECMP implementation is a bit different from IPv4 so that route
replacement cannot work in exactly the same way. This should be a
reasonable approximation:

1. If the new route is ECMP-able and there is a matching ECMP-able one
already, replace it and all its siblings (if any).

2. If the new route is ECMP-able and no matching ECMP-able route exists,
replace first matching non-ECMP-able (if any) or just add the new one.

3. If the new route is not ECMP-able, replace first matching
non-ECMP-able route (if any) or add the new route.

We also need to remove the NLM_F_REPLACE flag after replacing old
route(s) by first nexthop of an ECMP route so that each subsequent
nexthop does not replace previous one.

Michal Kubeček 35f1b4e96b ipv6: do not delete previously existing ECMP routes if add fails
If adding a nexthop of an IPv6 multipath route fails, comment in
ip6_route_multipath() says we are going to delete all nexthops already
added. However, current implementation deletes even the routes it
hasn't even tried to add yet. For example, running

  ip route add 1234:5678::/64 \
      nexthop via fe80::aa dev dummy1 \
      nexthop via fe80::bb dev dummy1 \
      nexthop via fe80::cc dev dummy1

twice results in removing all routes first command added.

Limit the second (delete) run to nexthops that succeeded in the first
(add) run.

Henning Rogge 33b4b015e1 net/ipv6/udp: Fix ipv6 multicast socket filter regression
Commit <5cf3d46192fc> ("udp: Simplify__udp*_lib_mcast_deliver")
simplified the filter for incoming IPv6 multicast but removed
the check of the local socket address and the UDP destination
address.

This patch restores the filter to prevent sockets bound to a IPv6
multicast IP to receive other UDP traffic link unicast.

Florent Fourcot 21858cd02d tcp/ipv6: fix flow label setting in TIME_WAIT state

Vlad Yasevich e87a468eb9 ipv6: Fix udp checksums with raw sockets
It was reported that trancerout6 would cause
a kernel to crash when trying to compute checksums
on raw UDP packets.  The cause was the check in
__ip6_append_data that would attempt to use
partial checksums on the packet.  However,
raw sockets do not initialize partial checksum
fields so partial checksums can't be used.

Solve this the same way IPv4 does it.  raw sockets
pass transhdrlen value of 0 to ip_append_data which
causes the checksum to be computed in software.  Use
the same check in ip6_append_data (check transhdrlen).

   structure, and thus we had overlapping changes to the
   initializer function.

3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is
   completely removed in 'net-next'.

4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations
   had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the
   argument signature a bit.

This also matches example merge resolutions posted by Stephen
Rothwell over the past two days.

Eric W. Biederman 26abe14379 net: Modify sk_alloc to not reference count the netns of kernel sockets.
Now that sk_alloc knows when a kernel socket is being allocated modify
it to not reference count the network namespace of kernel sockets.

Keep track of if a socket needs reference counting by adding a flag to
struct sock called sk_net_refcnt.

Update all of the callers of sock_create_kern to stop using
sk_change_net and sk_release_kernel as those hacks are no longer
needed, to avoid reference counting a kernel socket.

Markus Stenberg e16e888b52 ipv6: Fixed source specific default route handling.
If there are only IPv6 source specific default routes present, the
host gets -ENETUNREACH on e.g. connect() because ip6_dst_lookup_tail
calls ip6_route_output first, and given source address any, it fails,
and ip6_route_get_saddr is never called.

The change is to use the ip6_route_get_saddr, even if the initial
ip6_route_output fails, and then doing ip6_route_output _again_ after
we have appropriate source address available.

Note that this is '99% fix' to the problem; a correct fix would be to
do route lookups only within addrconf.c when picking a source address,
and never call ip6_route_output before source address has been
populated.

Linus Lüssing 9afd85c9e4 net: Export IGMP/MLD message validation code
With this patch, the IGMP and MLD message validation functions are moved
from the bridge code to IPv4/IPv6 multicast files. Some small
refactoring was done to enhance readibility and to iron out some
differences in behaviour between the IGMP and MLD parsing code (e.g. the
skb-cloning of MLD messages is now only done if necessary, just like the
IGMP part always did).

Finally, these IGMP and MLD message validation functions are exported so
that not only the bridge can use it but batman-adv later, too.

Tom Herbert 82a584b7cd ipv6: Flow label state ranges
This patch divides the IPv6 flow label space into two ranges:
0-7ffff is reserved for flow label manager, 80000-fffff will be
used for creating auto flow labels (per RFC6438). This only affects how
labels are set on transmit, it does not affect receive. This range split
can be disbaled by systcl.

Background:

IPv6 flow labels have been an unmitigated disappointment thus far
in the lifetime of IPv6. Support in HW devices to use them for ECMP
is lacking, and OSes don't turn them on by default. If we had these
we could get much better hashing in IPv6 networks without resorting
to DPI, possibly eliminating some of the motivations to to define new
encaps in UDP just for getting ECMP.

Unfortunately, the initial specfications of IPv6 did not clarify
how they are to be used. There has always been a vague concept that
these can be used for ECMP, flow hashing, etc. and we do now have a
good standard how to this in RFC6438. The problem is that flow labels
can be either stateful or stateless (as in RFC6438), and we are
presented with the possibility that a stateless label may collide
with a stateful one.  Attempts to split the flow label space were
rejected in IETF. When we added support in Linux for RFC6438, we
could not turn on flow labels by default due to this conflict.

This patch splits the flow label space and should give us
a path to enabling auto flow labels by default for all IPv6 packets.
This is an API change so we need to consider compatibility with
existing deployment. The stateful range is chosen to be the lower
values in hopes that most uses would have chosen small numbers.

Once we resolve the stateless/stateful issue, we can proceed to
look at enabling RFC6438 flow labels by default (starting with
scaled testing).

Martin KaFai Lau 4b32b5ad31 ipv6: Stop rt6_info from using inet_peer's metrics
inet_peer is indexed by the dst address alone.  However, the fib6 tree
could have multiple routing entries (rt6_info) for the same dst. For
example,
1. A /128 dst via multiple gateways.
2. A RTF_CACHE route cloned from a /128 route.

In the above cases, all of them will share the same metrics and
step on each other.

This patch will steer away from inet_peer's metrics and use
dst_cow_metrics_generic() for everything.

Change Highlights:
1. Remove rt6_cow_metrics() which currently acquires metrics from
   inet_peer for DST_HOST route (i.e. /128 route).
2. Add rt6i_pmtu to take care of the pmtu update to avoid creating a
   full size metrics just to override the RTAX_MTU.
3. After (2), the RTF_CACHE route can also share the metrics with its
   dst.from route, by:
   dst_init_metrics(&cache_rt->dst, dst_metrics_ptr(cache_rt->dst.from), true);
4. Stop creating RTF_CACHE route by cloning another RTF_CACHE route.  Instead,
   directly clone from rt->dst.

   [ Currently, cloning from another RTF_CACHE is only possible during
     rt6_do_redirect().  Also, the old clone is removed from the tree
     immediately after the new clone is added. ]

   In case of cloning from an older redirect RTF_CACHE, it should work as
   before.

   In case of cloning from an older pmtu RTF_CACHE, this patch will forget
   the pmtu and re-learn it (if there is any) from the redirected route.

The _rt6i_peer and DST_METRICS_FORCE_OVERWRITE will be removed
in the next cleanup patch.

2. After (1), all routes that allow pmtu update should have a RTF_CACHE
   clone.  Hence, stop updating MTU for any non RTF_CACHE route.

Steffen Klassert 9fbdcfaf97 ipv6: Extend the route lookups to low priority metrics.
We search only for routes with highest priority metric in
find_rr_leaf(). However if one of these routes is marked
as invalid, we may fail to find a route even if there is
a appropriate route with lower priority. Then we loose
connectivity until the garbage collector deletes the
invalid route. This typically happens if a host route
expires afer a pmtu event. Fix this by searching also
for routes with a lower priority metric.

Martin KaFai Lau 1f56a01f4e ipv6: Consider RTF_CACHE when searching the fib6 tree
It is a prep work for the later bug-fix patch which will stop /128 route
from disappearing after pmtu update.

The later bug-fix patch will allow a /128 route and its RTF_CACHE clone
both exist at the same fib6_node.  To do this, we need to prepare the
existing fib6 tree search to expect RTF_CACHE for /128 route.

Note that the fn->leaf is sorted by rt6i_metric.  Hence,
RTF_CACHE (if there is any) is always at the front.  This property
leads to the following:

1. When doing ip6_route_del(), it should honor the RTF_CACHE flag which
   the caller is used to ask for deleting clone or non-clone.
   The rtm_to_fib6_config() should also check the RTM_F_CLONED and
   then set RTF_CACHE accordingly so that:
   - 'ip -6 r del...' will make ip6_route_del() to delete a route
     and all its clones. Note that its clones is flushed by fib6_del()
   - 'ip -6 r flush table cache' will make ip6_route_del() to
      only delete clone(s).

2. Exclude RTF_CACHE from addrconf_get_prefix_route() which
   should not configure on a cloned route.

3. No change is need for rt6_device_match() since it currently could
   return a RTF_CACHE clone route, so the later bug-fix patch will not
   affect it.

There is a race when reqsk_timer_handler() and tcp_check_req() call
inet_csk_reqsk_queue_unlink() on the same req at the same time.

Before commit fa76ce7328 ("inet: get rid of central tcp/dccp listener
timer"), listener spinlock was held and race could not happen.

To solve this bug, we change reqsk_queue_unlink() to not assume req
must be found, and we return a status, to conditionally release a
refcount on the request sock.

This also means tcp_check_req() in non fastopen case might or not
consume req refcount, so tcp_v6_hnd_req() & tcp_v4_hnd_req() have
to properly handle this.

(Same remark for dccp_check_req() and its callers)

inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop() is now too big to be inlined, as it is
called 4 times in tcp and 3 times in dccp.

zero the remaining bits.

Based on that, we can load multiple adjacent registers with different

if less space is needed.

As a side effect, these patches will allow some nice optimizations in

 * the first five patches add length validation to register loads and

   well as the data registers. The verdict members are moved to a new
   struct nft_verdict to allow to pull struct nft_data out of the stack.

 * the next patches contain preparatory conversions of expressions and
   sets to use 32 bit addressing

 * the next patch introduces so far unused register conversion helpers
   for parsing and dumping register numbers over netlink

 * following is the real conversion to 32 bit addressing, consisting of
   replacing struct nft_data in struct nft_regs by an array of u32s and
   actually translating and validating the new register numbers.

 * the final two patches add support for variable sized data items and
   variable sized keys / data in set elements

The following patches are the grand finale of my nf_tables set work,
using all the building blocks put in place by the previous patches
to support something like iptables hashlimit, but a lot more powerful.

Sets are extended to allow attaching expressions to set elements.
The dynset expression dynamically instantiates these expressions
based on a template when creating new set elements and evaluates
them for all new or updated set members.

In combination with concatenations this effectively creates state
tables for arbitrary combinations of keys, using the existing
expression types to maintain that state. Regular set GC takes care
of purging expired states.

We currently support two different stateful expressions, counter
and limit. Using limit as a template we can express the functionality
of hashlimit, but completely unrestricted in the combination of keys.
Using counter we can perform accounting for arbitrary flows.

The following examples from patch 5/5 show some possibilities.
Userspace syntax is still WIP, especially the listing of state
tables will most likely be seperated from normal set listings
and use a more structured format:

1. Limit the rate of new SSH connections per host, similar to iptables

Eric Dumazet 789f558cfb tcp/dccp: get rid of central timewait timer
Using a timer wheel for timewait sockets was nice ~15 years ago when
memory was expensive and machines had a single processor.

This does not scale, code is ugly and source of huge latencies
(Typically 30 ms have been seen, cpus spinning on death_lock spinlock.)

We can afford to use an extra 64 bytes per timewait sock and spread
timewait load to all cpus to have better behavior.

Tested:

On following test, /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_tw_recycle is set to 1
on the target (lpaa24)

Before patch :

Patrick McHardy 49499c3e6e netfilter: nf_tables: switch registers to 32 bit addressing
Switch the nf_tables registers from 128 bit addressing to 32 bit
addressing to support so called concatenations, where multiple values
can be concatenated over multiple registers for O(1) exact matches of
multiple dimensions using sets.

The old register values are mapped to areas of 128 bits for compatibility.
When dumping register numbers, values are expressed using the old values
if they refer to the beginning of a 128 bit area for compatibility.

To support concatenations, register loads of less than a full 32 bit
value need to be padded. This mainly affects the payload and exthdr
expressions, which both unconditionally zero the last word before
copying the data.

Userspace fully passes the testsuite using both old and new register
addressing.

Patrick McHardy a55e22e92f netfilter: nf_tables: get rid of NFT_REG_VERDICT usage
Replace the array of registers passed to expressions by a struct nft_regs,
containing the verdict as a seperate member, which aliases to the
NFT_REG_VERDICT register.

This is needed to seperate the verdict from the data registers completely,
so their size can be changed.

14) Annotate original layer 2 protocol number in nf_bridge info, instead of

16) Fix possible usage of set variant that doesn't support timeouts.

17) Avoid spurious "set is full" errors from Netlink API when there are pending
    stale elements scheduled to be released.

18) Restrict loop checks to set maps.

19) Add support for dynamic set updates from the packet path.

20) Add support to store optional user data (eg. comments) per set element.

BTW, I have also pulled net-next into nf-next to anticipate the conflict
resolution between your okfn() signature changes and Florian's br_netfilter
updates.

David Miller c1f8667677 netfilter: Fix switch statement warnings with recent gcc.
More recent GCC warns about two kinds of switch statement uses:

1) Switching on an enumeration, but not having an explicit case
   statement for all members of the enumeration.  To show the
   compiler this is intentional, we simply add a default case
   with nothing more than a break statement.

2) Switching on a boolean value.  I think this warning is dumb
   but nevertheless you get it wholesale with -Wswitch.

This patch cures all such warnings in netfilter.

Florian Westphal c737b7c451 netfilter: bridge: add helpers for fetching physin/outdev
right now we store this in the nf_bridge_info struct, accessible
via skb->nf_bridge.  This patch prepares removal of this pointer from skb:

Instead of using skb->nf_bridge->x, we use helpers to obtain the in/out
device (or ifindexes).

Followup patches to netfilter will then allow nf_bridge_info to be
obtained by a call into the br_netfilter core, rather than keeping a
pointer to it in sk_buff.

David Miller 7026b1ddb6 netfilter: Pass socket pointer down through okfn().
On the output paths in particular, we have to sometimes deal with two
socket contexts.  First, and usually skb->sk, is the local socket that
generated the frame.

And second, is potentially the socket used to control a tunneling
socket, such as one the encapsulates using UDP.

We do not want to disassociate skb->sk when encapsulating in order
to fix this, because that would break socket memory accounting.

The most extreme case where this can cause huge problems is an
AF_PACKET socket transmitting over a vxlan device.  We hit code
paths doing checks that assume they are dealing with an ipv4
socket, but are actually operating upon the AF_PACKET one.

Yao Xiwei 092a29a40b vti6: fix uninit when using x-netns
When the kernel deleted a vti6 interface, this interface was not removed from
the tunnels list. Thus, when the ip6_vti module was removed, this old interface
was found and the kernel tried to delete it again. This was leading to a kernel
panic.

hannes@stressinduktion.org f60e5990d9 ipv6: protect skb->sk accesses from recursive dereference inside the stack
We should not consult skb->sk for output decisions in xmit recursion
levels > 0 in the stack. Otherwise local socket settings could influence
the result of e.g. tunnel encapsulation process.

ipv6 does not conform with this in three places:

1) ip6_fragment: we do consult ipv6_npinfo for frag_size

2) sk_mc_loop in ipv6 uses skb->sk and checks if we should
   loop the packet back to the local socket

3) ip6_skb_dst_mtu could query the settings from the user socket and
   force a wrong MTU

Furthermore:
In sk_mc_loop we could potentially land in WARN_ON(1) if we use a
PF_PACKET socket ontop of an IPv6-backed vxlan device.

Reuse xmit_recursion as we are currently only interested in protecting
tunnel devices.
