Seungwon Jeon eed6c63cef mmc: dw_mmc: fix the transmission handling in IDMAC
DTO interrupt can be later than transmit interrupt(IDMAC) in case of
write. Current handling of IDMAC interrupt sets EVENT_DATA_COMPLETE as
well as EVENT_XFER_COMPLETE regardless of DTO rising. This makes the
current request finish in tasklet and permits the next request even
though current data transfer is still in progress. As a result, sequence
is broken and lock-up happens. Setting EVENT_DATA_COMPLETE is not proper
after IDMAC interrupt. It should be taken after DTO interrupt is
generated.

Yong Ding 2a0fe914a3 mmc: sdio: fix setting card data bus width as 4-bit
SDIO_CCCR_IF[1:0] in SDIO card is used for card data bus width
setting as below:

     00b: 1-bit bus
     01b: Reserved
     10b: 4-bit bus
11b: 8-bit bus (only for embedded SDIO)

And sdio_enable_wide is for setting data bus width as 4-bit.
But currently, it first reads the register, second OR' 1b with
SDIO_CCCR_IF[1], and then writes it back.

As we can see, this is based on such assumption that the
SDIO_CCCR_IF[0] is always 0. Apparently, this is not right.

Chris Ball 09eeff52bf mmc: sdhci: Use DBG() instead of pr_warning() on large timeout
3bdc9ba892 ("mmc: use really long write timeout to deal with crappy
cards") in 3.4 increased the write timeout that the core sends to host
drivers to 3 seconds. This makes sdhci's "requested timeout too large"
warning trigger on every write; so, change this pr_warning() to a DBG().

Linus Torvalds 2795343705 arm-soc: clock driver changes
The new clock subsystem was merged in linux-3.4 without any users, this
now moves the first three platforms over to it: imx, mxs and spear.

The series also contains the changes for the clock subsystem itself,
since Mike preferred to have it together with the platforms that require
these changes, in order to avoid interdependencies and conflicts.

The state machine use in atmel-mci can't work with old IP versions

Ludovic Desroches 7a90dcc2d7 mmc: atmel-mci: the r/w proof capability lack was not well managed
First mci IPs (mainly on rm9200 and 9261) don't have the r/w proof
capability. The driver didn't work correctly without this capability
in PDC mode because of the double buffer switch which is too slow
even if we stop the transfer to perform this switch.

For eMMC cards that has been initialized from a bootloader,
the VCC voltage supply must not be cut in an uncontrolled

The regulator_init_complete late initcall, may cut the VCC
regulator if it's reference counter is zero. To be able to
prevent the regulator from being cut, mmc_start_host, which

calls mmc_power_up. Then the host driver is able to increase

Daniel Drake 87b87a3fc0 mmc: sdhci: refine non-removable card checking for card detection
Commit c79396c191 ("mmc: sdhci: prevent card detection activity

are marked as non-removable.

This makes sense, but the implementation detail of calling
mmc_card_is_removable() causes some problems, because
mmc_card_is_removable() is overloaded with CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME
semantics.

In the OLPC XO case, we need CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME because our root
filesystem is stored on SD, but we also have external SD card slots
where we want automatic card detection.

Refine the check to only apply to hosts marked as MMC_CAP_NONREMOVABLE,
which is defined to mean that the card is *really* nonremovable. This
could be revisited in future if we find a way to improve
CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME semantics.

Adrian Hunter 7194efb8f0 mmc: fixes for eMMC v4.5 discard operation
eMMC v4.5 discard operation is significantly different from the
existing trim operation because it is not guaranteed to work with
the new sanitize operation. Consequently mmc_can_trim() is
separated from mmc_can_discard().

Also the new discard operation does not result in the sectors being
set to all-zeros, so discard_zeroes_data must not be set.

In addition, the new discard has the same timeout as trim, but from

Paul Walmsley 3bdc9ba892 mmc: use really long write timeout to deal with crappy cards
Several people have noticed that crappy SD cards take much longer to
complete multiple block writes than the 300ms that Linux specifies.
Try to work around this by using a three second write timeout instead.

This is a generalized version of a patch from Chase Maupin
<Chase.Maupin@ti.com>, whose patch description said:

* With certain SD cards timeouts like the following have been seen
due to an improper calculation of the dto value:
    mmcblk0: error -110 transferring data, sector 4126233, nr 8,
    card status 0xc00
* By removing the dto calculation and setting the timeout value
to the maximum specified by the SD card specification part A2
section 2.2.15 these timeouts can be avoided.
* This change has been used by beagleboard users as well as the
Texas Instruments SDK without a negative impact.

Al Cooper 4188bba0e9 mmc: Prevent 1.8V switch for SD hosts that don't support UHS modes.
The driver should not try to switch to 1.8V when the SD 3.0 host
controller does not have any UHS capabilities bits set (SDR50, DDR50
or SDR104). See page 72 of "SD Specifications Part A2 SD Host
Controller Simplified Specification Version 3.00" under
"1.8V Signaling Enable". Instead of setting SDR12 and SDR25 in the host
capabilities data structure for all V3.0 host controllers, only set them
if SDR104, SDR50 or DDR50 is set in the host capabilities register. This
will prevent the switch to 1.8V later.

Chris Ball 79263f33b0 Revert "mmc: sdhci-pci: Add MSI support"
This reverts commit e6039832be.
There are reports of MSI breaking SDHCI on multiple chipsets (JMicron
and O2Micro, at least), so this should be reverted until we come up
with a whitelist or something.

Chris Ball 84e41d2d56 Revert "mmc: sdhci-pci: add quirks for broken MSI on O2Micro controllers"
This reverts commit c16e981b2fd9455af670a69a84f4c8cf07e12658, because
it's no longer useful once MSI support is reverted.

Subhash Jadavani 93fc5a47f2 mmc: core: fix power class selection
mmc_select_powerclass() function returns error if eMMC
VDD level supported by host is between 2.7v to 3.2v.

According to eMMC specification, valid voltage for high
voltage cards is 2.7v to 3.6v. This patch ensures that
2.7v to 3.6v VDD range is treated as valid range.

Also, failure to set the power class shouldn't be treated
as fatal error because even if setting the power class
fails, card can still work in default power class.
If mmc_select_powerclass() returns error, just print
the warning message and go ahead with rest of the card
initialization.

Balaji T K fc307df88f mmc: omap_hsmmc: fix module re-insertion
OMAP4 and OMAP3 HSMMC IP registers differ by 0x100 offset.
Adding the offset to platform_device resource structure
increments the start address for every insmod operation.
MMC command fails on re-insertion as module due to incorrect register
base. Fix this by updating the ioremap base address only.

Felipe Balbi efa25fd3a3 mmc: omap_hsmmc: make it behave well as a module
If we put probe() on __init section, that will never work for multiple
module insertions/removals.

In order to make it work properly, move probe to __devinit section and
use platform_driver_register() instead of platform_driver_probe().

It basically decreases indentation level, drop unneded dereferences
and drop unneded accesses to the platform_device structure.
