When we're running as a 64-bit architecture and are not running in

This is necessary because unless userspace explicitly requests fstype
"nfs4" (either via "mount -t nfs4" or by calling the "mount.nfs4" helper
directly), the fstype will default to "nfs".
This was fine on older kernels because the super_block->s_type was set
via mount_info->nfs_mod->nfs_fs, which was set when parsing the mount
options and subsequently passed in the "type" argument of sget().
After commit f2aedb713c ("NFS: Add fs_context support."), sget_fc(),
which has no "type" argument, is called instead. In sget_fc(), the
super_block->s_type is set via fs_context->fs_type, which was set when

There are very few options of that sort, and they are actually
easier to handle that way - callers end up with less postprocessing.

Currently, each time nfs4_do_fsinfo() is called it will do an implicit
NFS4 lease renewal, which is not compliant with the NFS4 specification.
This can result in a lease being expired by an NFS server.
Commit 83ca7f5ab3 ("NFS: Avoid PUTROOTFH when managing leases")
introduced implicit client lease renewal in nfs4_do_fsinfo(),
which can result in the NFSv4.0 lease to expire on a server side,
and servers returning NFS4ERR_EXPIRED or NFS4ERR_STALE_CLIENTID.
This can easily be reproduced by frequently unmounting a sub-mount,
then stat'ing it to get it mounted again, which will delay or even
completely prevent client from sending RENEW operations if no other
NFS operations are issued. Eventually nfs server will expire client's
lease and return an error on file access or next RENEW.
This can also happen when a sub-mount is automatically unmounted
due to inactivity (after nfs_mountpoint_expiry_timeout), then it is
mounted again via stat(). This can result in a short window during
which client's lease will expire on a server but not on a client.
This specific case was observed on production systems.
This patch removes the implicit lease renewal from nfs4_do_fsinfo().

In _nfs42_proc_copy(), 'res->commit_res.verf' is allocated through
kzalloc() if 'args->sync' is true. In the following code, if
'res->synchronous' is false, handle_async_copy() will be invoked. If an
error occurs during the invocation, the following code will not be executed
and the error will be returned . However, the allocated
'res->commit_res.verf' is not deallocated, leading to a memory leak. This
is also true if the invocation of process_copy_commit() returns an error.
To fix the above leaks, redirect the execution to the 'out' label if an
error is encountered.

When the directory is large and it's being modified by one client
while another client is doing the 'ls -l' on the same directory then
the cache page invalidation from nfs_force_use_readdirplus causes
the reading client to keep restarting READDIRPLUS from cookie 0
which causes the 'ls -l' to take a very long time to complete,
possibly never completing.
Currently when nfs_force_use_readdirplus is called to switch from
READDIR to READDIRPLUS, it invalidates all the cached pages of the
directory. This cache page invalidation causes the next nfs_readdir
to re-read the directory content from cookie 0.
This patch is to optimise the cache invalidation in
nfs_force_use_readdirplus by only truncating the cached pages from
last page index accessed to the end the file. It also marks the
inode to delay invalidating all the cached page of the directory
until the next initial nfs_readdir of the next 'ls' instance.

I've gone through all users of time_t again to make sure the kernel is

Some related parts of the series were picked up into the nfsd, xfs,

to run beyond year 2038, with a few remaining caveats:
- All user space must be compiled with a 64-bit time_t, which will be
supported in the coming musl-1.2 and glibc-2.32 releases, along with
installed kernel headers from linux-5.6 or higher.
- Applications that use the system call interfaces directly need to be
ported to use the time64 syscalls added in linux-5.1 in place of the
existing system calls. This impacts most users of futex() and seccomp()
as well as programming languages that have their own runtime environment
not based on libc.
- Applications that use a private copy of kernel uapi header files or
their contents may need to update to the linux-5.6 version, in
particular for sound/asound.h, xfs/xfs_fs.h, linux/input.h,
linux/elfcore.h, linux/sockios.h, linux/timex.h and linux/can/bcm.h.
- A few remaining interfaces cannot be changed to pass a 64-bit time_t
in a compatible way, so they must be configured to use CLOCK_MONOTONIC
times or (with a y2106 problem) unsigned 32-bit timestamps. Most
importantly this impacts all users of 'struct input_event'.
- All y2038 problems that are present on 64-bit machines also apply to
32-bit machines. In particular this affects file systems with on-disk
timestamps using signed 32-bit seconds: ext4 with ext3-style small
inodes, ext2, xfs (to be fixed soon) and ufs.

- Add Acks I received
- Rebase to v5.5-rc1, dropping patches that got merged already
- Add NFS, XFS and the final three patches from another series
- Rewrite etnaviv patches
- Add one late revert to avoid an etnaviv regression

"Core, driver and file system changes
These are updates to device drivers and file systems that for some
reason or another were not included in the kernel in the previous
y2038 series.
I've gone through all users of time_t again to make sure the kernel is
in a long-term maintainable state, replacing all remaining references

Some related parts of the series were picked up into the nfsd, xfs,

now unused time_t/timeval/timespec types and helper functions after
all five branches are merged for linux-5.6, ensuring that no new users

Return EINVAL rather than ERANGE for mount parse errors as the userspace
mount command doesn't necessarily understand what to do with anything other
than EINVAL.
The old code returned -ERANGE as an intermediate error that then get
converted to -EINVAL, whereas the new code returns -ERANGE.
This was induced by passing minorversion=1 to a v4 mount where
CONFIG_NFS_V4_1 was disabled in the kernel build.

We find a bug when running test under nfsv3 as below.
1)
chacl u::r--,g::rwx,o:rw- file1
2)
chmod u+w file1
3)
chacl -l file1
We expect u::rw-, but it shows u::r--, more likely it returns the
cached acl in inode.
We dig the code find that the code path is different.
chacl->..->__nfs3_proc_setacls->nfs_zap_acl_cache
Then nfs_zap_acl_cache clears the NFS_INO_INVALID_ACL in
NFS_I(inode)->cache_validity.
chmod->..->nfs3_proc_setattr
Because NFS_INO_INVALID_ACL has been cleared by chacl path,
nfs_zap_acl_cache wont be called.
nfs_setattr_update_inode will set NFS_INO_INVALID_ACL so let it
before nfs_zap_acl_cache call.

For the krb5i and krb5p mount, it was problematic to truncate the
received ACL to the provided buffer because an integrity check
could not be preformed.
Instead, provide enough pages to accommodate the largest buffer
bounded by the largest RPC receive buffer size.
Note: I don't think it's possible for the ACL to be truncated now.

Add a mount option 'softreval' that allows attribute revalidation 'getattr'
calls to time out, and causes them to fall back to using the cached
attributes.
The use case for this option is for ensuring that we can still (slowly)
traverse paths and use cached information even when the server is down.
Once the server comes back up again, the getattr calls start succeeding,
and the caches will revalidate as usual.
The 'softreval' mount option is automatically enabled if you have
specified 'softerr'. It can be turned off using the options
'nosoftreval', or 'hard'.

For NFSv2 and NFSv3, timestamps are stored using 32-bit entities
and overflow in y2038. For historic reasons we truncate the
64-bit timestamps by converting from a timespec64 to a timespec
first.
Remove this unnecessary conversion step and do the truncation
in the final functions that take a timestamp.
This is transparent to users, but avoids one of the last uses
of 'timespec' and lets us remove it later.

nfs currently behaves differently on 32-bit and 64-bit kernels regarding
the on-disk format of nfs_fscache_inode_auxdata.
That format should really be the same on any kernel, and we should avoid
the 'timespec' type in order to remove that from the kernel later on.
Using plain 'timespec64' would not be good here, since that includes
implied padding and would possibly leak kernel stack data to the on-disk
format on 32-bit architectures.
struct __kernel_timespec would work as a replacement, but open-coding
the two struct members in nfs_fscache_inode_auxdata makes it more
obvious what's going on here, and keeps the current format for 64-bit
architectures.

Split out from commit "NFS: Add fs_context support."
This patch adds additional refactoring for the conversion of NFS to use
fs_context, namely:
(*) Merge nfs_mount_info and nfs_clone_mount into nfs_fs_context.
nfs_clone_mount has had several fields removed, and nfs_mount_info
has been removed altogether.
(*) Various functions now take an fs_context as an argument instead
of nfs_mount_info, nfs_fs_context, etc.

Add filesystem context support to NFS, parsing the options in advance and
attaching the information to struct nfs_fs_context. The highlights are:
(*) Merge nfs_mount_info and nfs_clone_mount into nfs_fs_context. This
structure represents NFS's superblock config.
(*) Make use of the VFS's parsing support to split comma-separated lists
(*) Pin the NFS protocol module in the nfs_fs_context.
(*) Attach supplementary error information to fs_context. This has the
downside that these strings must be static and can't be formatted.
(*) Remove the auxiliary file_system_type structs since the information
necessary can be conveyed in the nfs_fs_context struct instead.
(*) Root mounts are made by duplicating the config for the requested mount
so as to have the same parameters. Submounts pick up their parameters
from the parent superblock.

Convert existing mount option definitions to fs_parameter_enum's and
fs_parameter_spec's. Parse mount options using fs_parse() and
lookup_constant().
Notes:
1) Fixed a typo in the udp6 definition in nfs_xprt_protocol_tokens
from the original commit.
2) fs_parse() expects an fs_context as the first arg so that any
errors can be logged to the fs_context. We're passing NULL for the
fs_context (this will change in commit "NFS: Add fs_context support.")
which is okay as it will cause logfc() to do a printk() instead.
3) fs_parse() expects an fs_paramter as the third arg. We're
building an fs_parameter manually in nfs_fs_context_parse_option(),
which will go away in commit "NFS: Add fs_context support.".

... and get rid of a bunch of bugs in it. Background:
the reason for path_mountpoint() is that umount() really doesn't
want attempts to revalidate the root of what it's trying to umount.
The thing we want to avoid actually happen from complete_walk();
solution was to do something parallel to normal path_lookupat()
and it both went overboard and got the boilerplate subtly
(and not so subtly) wrong.
A better solution is to do pretty much what the normal path_lookupat()
does, but instead of complete_walk() do unlazy_walk(). All it takes
to avoid that ->d_weak_revalidate() call... mountpoint_last() goes
away, along with everything it got wrong, and so does the magic around
LOOKUP_NO_REVAL.
Another source of bugs is that when we traverse mounts at the final
location (and we need to do that - umount . expects to get whatever's
overmounting ., if any, out of the lookup) we really ought to take
care of ->d_manage() - as it is, manual umount of autofs automount
in progress can lead to unpleasant surprises for the daemon. Easily
solved by using handle_lookup_down() instead of follow_mount().

nfs currently behaves differently on 32-bit and 64-bit kernels regarding
the on-disk format of nfs_fscache_inode_auxdata.

Changing a sparse file could have an effect not only on the file size,
but also on the number of blocks used by the file in the underlying
filesystem. The server's cache_consistency_bitmap doesn't update the
SPACE_USED attribute, so let's switch to the nfs4_fattr_bitmap to catch
this update whenever we do an ALLOCATE or DEALLOCATE.
This patch fixes xfstests generic/568, which tests that fallocating an
unaligned range allocates all blocks touched by that range. Without this
patch, `stat` reports 0 bytes used immediately after the fallocate.

If the server returns NFS4ERR_OLD_STATEID in response to our delegreturn,
we want to sync to the most recent seqid for the delegation stateid. However
if we are already at the most recent, we have two possibilities:
- an OPEN reply is still outstanding and will return a new seqid
- an earlier OPEN reply was dropped on the floor due to a timeout.
In the latter case, we may end up unable to complete the delegreturn,
so we want to bump the seqid to a value greater than the cached value.
While this may cause us to lose the delegation in the former case,
it should now be safe to assume that the client will replay the OPEN
if necessary in order to get a new valid stateid.

NFSv2, v3 and NFSv4 servers often have duplicate replay caches that look
at the source port when deciding whether or not an RPC call is a replay
of a previous call. This requires clients to perform strange TCP gymnastics
in order to ensure that when they reconnect to the server, they bind
to the same source port.
NFSv4.1 and NFSv4.2 have sessions that provide proper replay semantics,
that do not look at the source port of the connection. This patch therefore

In the years since the max readahead size was fixed in NFS, a number of
things have happened:
- Users can now set the value directly using /sys/class/bdi
- NFS max supported block sizes have increased by several orders of
magnitude from 64K to 1MB.
- Disk access latencies are orders of magnitude faster due to SSD + NVME.
In particular note that if the server is advertising 1MB as the optimal
read size, as that will set the readahead size to 15MB.
Let's therefore adjust down, and try to default to VM_READAHEAD_PAGES.
However let's inform the VM about our preferred block size so that it
can choose to round up in cases where that makes sense.

Currently, we are translating RPC level errors such as timeouts,

The NFSv4.1 protocol explicitly forbids us from using the zero stateid
together with layoutget, so when we see that nfs4_select_rw_stateid()
is unable to return a valid delegation, lock or open stateid, then
we should initiate recovery and retry.

If the stateid is the zero or invalid stateid, then it is pointless
to attempt to use it for recovery. In that case, try to fall back
to using the open state stateid, or just doing a general recovery

RFC 7530 requires us to refetch the lease time attribute once a new
clientID is established. This is already implemented for the
nfs4.1(+) clients by nfs41_init_clientid, which calls
nfs41_finish_session_reset, which calls nfs4_setup_state_renewal.
To make nfs4_setup_state_renewal available for nfs4.0, move it
further to the top of the source file to include it regardles of
CONFIG_NFS_V4_1 and to save a forward declaration.
Call nfs4_setup_state_renewal from nfs4_init_clientid.

This reverts commit be4c2d4723.
That commit caused a severe memory leak in nfs_readdir_make_qstr().
When listing a directory with more than 100 files (this is how many
struct nfs_cache_array_entry elements fit in one 4kB page), all
allocated file name strings past those 100 leak.
The root of the leakage is that those string pointers are managed in
pages which are never linked into the page cache.
fs/nfs/dir.c puts pages into the page cache by calling
read_cache_page(); the callback function nfs_readdir_filler() will
then fill the given page struct which was passed to it, which is
already linked in the page cache (by do_read_cache_page() calling
add_to_page_cache_lru()).
Commit be4c2d4723 added another (local) array of allocated pages, to
be filled with more data, instead of discarding excess items received
from the NFS server. Those additional pages can be used by the next
nfs_readdir_filler() call (from within the same nfs_readdir() call).
The leak happens when some of those additional pages are never used
(copied to the page cache using copy_highpage()). The pages will be
freed by nfs_readdir_free_pages(), but their contents will not. The
commit did not invoke nfs_readdir_clear_array() (and doing so would
have been dangerous, because it did not track which of those pages
were already copied to the page cache, risking double free bugs).
How to reproduce the leak:
- Use a kernel with CONFIG_SLUB_DEBUG_ON.
- Create a directory on a NFS mount with more than 100 files with
names long enough to use the "kmalloc-32" slab (so we can easily
look up the allocation counts):
for i in `seq 110`; do touch ${i}_0123456789abcdef; done
- Drop all caches:
echo 3 >/proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
- Check the allocation counter:
grep nfs_readdir /sys/kernel/slab/kmalloc-32/alloc_calls
30564391 nfs_readdir_add_to_array+0x73/0xd0 age=534558/4791307/6540952 pid=370-1048386 cpus=0-47 nodes=0-1
- Request a directory listing and check the allocation counters again:
ls
[...]
grep nfs_readdir /sys/kernel/slab/kmalloc-32/alloc_calls
30564511 nfs_readdir_add_to_array+0x73/0xd0 age=207/4792999/6542663 pid=370-1048386 cpus=0-47 nodes=0-1
There are now 120 new allocations.
- Drop all caches and check the counters again:
echo 3 >/proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
grep nfs_readdir /sys/kernel/slab/kmalloc-32/alloc_calls
30564401 nfs_readdir_add_to_array+0x73/0xd0 age=735/4793524/6543176 pid=370-1048386 cpus=0-47 nodes=0-1
110 allocations are gone, but 10 have leaked and will never be freed.
Unhelpfully, those allocations are explicitly excluded from KMEMLEAK,
that's why my initial attempts with KMEMLEAK were not successful:
/*
* Avoid a kmemleak false positive. The pointer to the name is stored
* in a page cache page which kmemleak does not scan.
*/
kmemleak_not_leak(string->name);
It would be possible to solve this bug without reverting the whole
commit:
- keep track of which pages were not used, and call
nfs_readdir_clear_array() on them, or
- manually link those pages into the page cache
But for now I have decided to just revert the commit, because the real
fix would require complex considerations, risking more dangerous
(crash) bugs, which may seem unsuitable for the stable branches.

I noticed that NFS status values stopped working again.
trace_print_symbols_seq() takes an unsigned long. Passing a negative
errno or negative NFSERR value just confuses it, and since we're
using C macros here and not static inline functions, all bets are
off due to implicit type conversion.
Straight-line the calling conventions so that error codes are stored
in the trace record as positive values in an unsigned long field,
mapped to symbolic as an unsigned long, and displayed as a negative
value, to continue to enable grepping on "error=-".
It's often the case that an error value that is positive is a byte
count but when it's negative, it's an error (e.g. nfs4_write). Fix
those cases so that the value that is eventually stored in the
error field is a positive NFS status or errno, or zero.

Pull keyring ACL support from David Howells:
"This changes the permissions model used by keys and keyrings to be
based on an internal ACL by the following means:
- Replace the permissions mask internally with an ACL that contains a
list of ACEs, each with a specific subject with a permissions mask.
Potted default ACLs are available for new keys and keyrings.
ACE subjects can be macroised to indicate the UID and GID specified
on the key (which remain). Future commits will be able to add
additional subject types, such as specific UIDs or domain
tags/namespaces.
Also split a number of permissions to give finer control. Examples
include splitting the revocation permit from the change-attributes
permit, thereby allowing someone to be granted permission to revoke
a key without allowing them to change the owner; also the ability
to join a keyring is split from the ability to link to it, thereby
stopping a process accessing a keyring by joining it and thus
acquiring use of possessor permits.
- Provide a keyctl to allow the granting or denial of one or more
permits to a specific subject. Direct access to the ACL is not
granted, and the ACL cannot be viewed"

Merge tag 'keys-namespace-20190627' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-fs
Pull keyring namespacing from David Howells:
"These patches help make keys and keyrings more namespace aware.
Firstly some miscellaneous patches to make the process easier:
- Simplify key index_key handling so that the word-sized chunks
assoc_array requires don't have to be shifted about, making it
easier to add more bits into the key.
- Cache the hash value in the key so that we don't have to calculate
on every key we examine during a search (it involves a bunch of
multiplications).
- Allow keying_search() to search non-recursively.
Then the main patches:
- Make it so that keyring names are per-user_namespace from the point
of view of KEYCTL_JOIN_SESSION_KEYRING so that they're not
accessible cross-user_namespace.
keyctl_capabilities() shows KEYCTL_CAPS1_NS_KEYRING_NAME for this.
- Move the user and user-session keyrings to the user_namespace
rather than the user_struct. This prevents them propagating
directly across user_namespaces boundaries (ie. the KEY_SPEC_*
flags will only pick from the current user_namespace).
- Make it possible to include the target namespace in which the key
shall operate in the index_key. This will allow the possibility of
multiple keys with the same description, but different target
domains to be held in the same keyring.
keyctl_capabilities() shows KEYCTL_CAPS1_NS_KEY_TAG for this.
- Make it so that keys are implicitly invalidated by removal of a
domain tag, causing them to be garbage collected.
- Institute a network namespace domain tag that allows keys to be
differentiated by the network namespace in which they operate. New
keys that are of a type marked 'KEY_TYPE_NET_DOMAIN' are assigned
the network domain in force when they are created.
- Make it so that the desired network namespace can be handed down
into the request_key() mechanism. This allows AFS, NFS, etc. to
request keys specific to the network namespace of the superblock.
This also means that the keys in the DNS record cache are
thenceforth namespaced, provided network filesystems pass the
appropriate network namespace down into dns_query().
For DNS, AFS and NFS are good, whilst CIFS and Ceph are not. Other
cache keyrings, such as idmapper keyrings, also need to set the
domain tag - for which they need access to the network namespace of
the superblock"

so only a single connection must be used for session startup.
So add a task flag to disable the default round-robin choice of

violated, and that the file or directory has been changed on the
server, then do a cache invalidation when we're done working with

The reason we don't do an immediate cache invalidation is that we
want to avoid performance problems due to false positives. Also,

According to the open() manpage, Linux reserves the access mode 3
to mean "check for read and write permission on the file and return
a file descriptor that can't be used for reading or writing."
Currently, the NFSv4 code will ask the server to open the file,
and will use an incorrect share access mode of 0. Since it has
an incorrect share access mode, the client later forgets to send
a corresponding close, meaning it can leak stateids on the server.

Replace the uid/gid/perm permissions checking on a key with an ACL to allow
the SETATTR and SEARCH permissions to be split. This will also allow a
greater range of subjects to represented.
============
WHY DO THIS?
============
The problem is that SETATTR and SEARCH cover a slew of actions, not all of
which should be grouped together.
For SETATTR, this includes actions that are about controlling access to a
key:
(1) Changing a key's ownership.
(2) Changing a key's security information.
(3) Setting a keyring's restriction.
And actions that are about managing a key's lifetime:
(4) Setting an expiry time.
(5) Revoking a key.
and (proposed) managing a key as part of a cache:
(6) Invalidating a key.
Managing a key's lifetime doesn't really have anything to do with
controlling access to that key.
Expiry time is awkward since it's more about the lifetime of the content
and so, in some ways goes better with WRITE permission. It can, however,
be set unconditionally by a process with an appropriate authorisation token
for instantiating a key, and can also be set by the key type driver when a
key is instantiated, so lumping it with the access-controlling actions is
probably okay.
As for SEARCH permission, that currently covers:
(1) Finding keys in a keyring tree during a search.
(2) Permitting keyrings to be joined.
(3) Invalidation.
But these don't really belong together either, since these actions really
need to be controlled separately.
Finally, there are number of special cases to do with granting the
administrator special rights to invalidate or clear keys that I would like
to handle with the ACL rather than key flags and special checks.
===============
WHAT IS CHANGED
===============
The SETATTR permission is split to create two new permissions:
(1) SET_SECURITY - which allows the key's owner, group and ACL to be
changed and a restriction to be placed on a keyring.
(2) REVOKE - which allows a key to be revoked.
The SEARCH permission is split to create:
(1) SEARCH - which allows a keyring to be search and a key to be found.
(2) JOIN - which allows a keyring to be joined as a session keyring.
(3) INVAL - which allows a key to be invalidated.
The WRITE permission is also split to create:
(1) WRITE - which allows a key's content to be altered and links to be
added, removed and replaced in a keyring.
(2) CLEAR - which allows a keyring to be cleared completely. This is
split out to make it possible to give just this to an administrator.
(3) REVOKE - see above.
Keys acquire ACLs which consist of a series of ACEs, and all that apply are
unioned together. An ACE specifies a subject, such as:
(*) Possessor - permitted to anyone who 'possesses' a key
(*) Owner - permitted to the key owner
(*) Group - permitted to the key group
(*) Everyone - permitted to everyone
Note that 'Other' has been replaced with 'Everyone' on the assumption that
you wouldn't grant a permit to 'Other' that you wouldn't also grant to
everyone else.
Further subjects may be made available by later patches.
The ACE also specifies a permissions mask. The set of permissions is now:
VIEW Can view the key metadata
READ Can read the key content
WRITE Can update/modify the key content
SEARCH Can find the key by searching/requesting
LINK Can make a link to the key
SET_SECURITY Can change owner, ACL, expiry
INVAL Can invalidate
REVOKE Can revoke
JOIN Can join this keyring
CLEAR Can clear this keyring
The KEYCTL_SETPERM function is then deprecated.
The KEYCTL_SET_TIMEOUT function then is permitted if SET_SECURITY is set,
or if the caller has a valid instantiation auth token.
The KEYCTL_INVALIDATE function then requires INVAL.
The KEYCTL_REVOKE function then requires REVOKE.
The KEYCTL_JOIN_SESSION_KEYRING function then requires JOIN to join an
existing keyring.
The JOIN permission is enabled by default for session keyrings and manually
created keyrings only.
======================
BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY
======================
To maintain backward compatibility, KEYCTL_SETPERM will translate the
permissions mask it is given into a new ACL for a key - unless
KEYCTL_SET_ACL has been called on that key, in which case an error will be
returned.
It will convert possessor, owner, group and other permissions into separate
ACEs, if each portion of the mask is non-zero.
SETATTR permission turns on all of INVAL, REVOKE and SET_SECURITY. WRITE
permission turns on WRITE, REVOKE and, if a keyring, CLEAR. JOIN is turned
on if a keyring is being altered.
The KEYCTL_DESCRIBE function translates the ACL back into a permissions
mask to return depending on possessor, owner, group and everyone ACEs.
It will make the following mappings:
(1) INVAL, JOIN -> SEARCH
(2) SET_SECURITY -> SETATTR
(3) REVOKE -> WRITE if SETATTR isn't already set
(4) CLEAR -> WRITE
Note that the value subsequently returned by KEYCTL_DESCRIBE may not match
the value set with KEYCTL_SETATTR.
=======
TESTING
=======
This passes the keyutils testsuite for all but a couple of tests:
(1) tests/keyctl/dh_compute/badargs: The first wrong-key-type test now
returns EOPNOTSUPP rather than ENOKEY as READ permission isn't removed
if the type doesn't have ->read(). You still can't actually read the
key.
(2) tests/keyctl/permitting/valid: The view-other-permissions test doesn't
work as Other has been replaced with Everyone in the ACL.

We can end up in nfs4_opendata_alloc during task exit, in which case
current->fs has already been cleaned up. This leads to a crash in
current_umask().
Fix this by only setting creation opendata if we are actually doing an open
with O_CREAT. We can drop the check for NULL nfs4_open_createattrs, since
O_CREAT will never be set for the recovery path.

d_delete() was piggy backed for the fsnotify_nameremove() hook when
in fact not all callers of d_delete() care about fsnotify events.
For all callers of d_delete() that may be interested in fsnotify events,
we made sure to call one of fsnotify_{unlink,rmdir}() hooks before
calling d_delete().
Now we can move the fsnotify_nameremove() call from d_delete() to the
fsnotify_{unlink,rmdir}() hooks.
Two explicit calls to fsnotify_nameremove() from nfs/afs sillyrename
are also removed. This will cause a change of behavior - nfs/afs will
NOT generate an fsnotify delete event when renaming over a positive
dentry. This change is desirable, because it is consistent with the
behavior of all other filesystems.

We want to enable cross-filesystem copy_file_range functionality
where possible, so push the "same superblock only" checks down to
the individual filesystem callouts so they can make their own
decisions about cross-superblock copy offload and fallack to
generic_copy_file_range() for cross-superblock copy.
[Amir] We do not call ->remap_file_range() in case the files are not
on the same sb and do not call ->copy_file_range() in case the files
do not belong to the same filesystem driver.
This changes behavior of the copy_file_range(2) syscall, which will
now allow cross filesystem in-kernel copy. CIFS already supports
cross-superblock copy, between two shares to the same server. This
functionality will now be available via the copy_file_range(2) syscall.

Now that we have generic_copy_file_range(), remove it as a fallback
case when offloads fail. This puts the responsibility for executing
fallbacks on the filesystems that implement ->copy_file_range and
allows us to add operational validity checks to
generic_copy_file_range().
Rework vfs_copy_file_range() to call a new do_copy_file_range()
helper to execute the copying callout, and move calls to
generic_file_copy_range() into filesystem methods where they
currently return failures.
[Amir] overlayfs is not responsible of executing the fallback.
It is the responsibility of the underlying filesystem.

When a waiter is waked by CB_NOTIFY_LOCK, it will retry
nfs4_proc_setlk(). The waiter may fail to nfs4_proc_setlk() and sleep
again. However, the waiter is already removed from clp->cl_lock_waitq
when handling CB_NOTIFY_LOCK in nfs4_wake_lock_waiter(). So any

This commit replaces schedule_timeout() with wait_woken() and
default_wake_function() with woken_wake_function() in function
nfs4_retry_setlk() and nfs4_wake_lock_waiter(). wait_woken() uses
memory barriers in its implementation to avoid potential race condition
when putting a process into sleeping state and then waking it up.

it's tough to run those with the right namespaces, so a daemon is much
friendlier to container use cases.

Pull NFS client updates from Anna Schumaker:
"Highlights include:
Stable bugfixes:
- Fall back to MDS if no deviceid is found rather than aborting # v4.11+
- NFS4: Fix v4.0 client state corruption when mount
Features:
- Much improved handling of soft mounts with NFS v4.0:

EIO to the application after a timeout
- Increase number of xprtrdma backchannel requests
- Add additional xprtrdma tracepoints
- Improved send completion batching for xprtrdma
Other bugfixes and cleanups:
- Return -EINVAL when NFS v4.2 is passed an invalid dedup mode
- Reduce usage of GFP_ATOMIC pages in SUNRPC
- Various minor NFS over RDMA cleanups and bugfixes
- Use the correct container namespace for upcalls
- Don't share superblocks between user namespaces
- Various other container fixes
- Make nfs_match_client() killable to prevent soft lockups
- Don't mark all open state for recovery when handling recallable
state revoked flag"
