Fix up inconsistent usage of upper and lowercase letters in "Samsung"
name.
"SAMSUNG" is not an abbreviation but a regular trademarked name.
Therefore it should be written with lowercase letters starting with
capital letter.
Although advertisement materials usually use uppercase "SAMSUNG", the
lowercase version is used in all legal aspects (e.g. on Wikipedia and in
privacy/legal statements on
https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/privacy-global/).

SGI IOC3 chip has integrated ethernet, keyboard and mouse interface.
It also supports connecting a SuperIO chip for serial and parallel
interfaces. IOC3 is used inside various SGI systemboards and add-on
cards with different equipped external interfaces.
Support for ethernet and serial interfaces were implemented inside
the network driver. This patchset moves out the not network related
parts to a new MFD driver, which takes care of card detection,
setup of platform devices and interrupt distribution for the subdevices.

The AB8500 GPADC driver is indeed a "general purpose ADC" driver,
and while the IIO subsystem did not exist when the driver was
first merged, it is never too late to clean things up and move it
to the right place.
Nowadays IIO provides the right abstractions and interfaces to
do generic ADC work in the kernel.
We have to cut a bunch of debugfs luggage to make this transition
swift, but all these files to is read out the raw values of the
ADC and the IIO subsystem already has a standard sysfs ABI for
doing exactly this: no debugfs is needed.

Add an MFD driver for Intel Merrifield Basin Cove PMIC.
Firmware on the platforms which are using Basin Cove PMIC is "smarter"
than on the rest supported by vanilla kernel. It handles first level
of interrupt itself, while others do it on OS level.
The driver is done in the same way as the rest of Intel PMIC MFD drivers
in the kernel to support the initial design. The design allows to use
one driver among few PMICs without knowing implementation details of
the each hardware version or generation.

The SOCFPGA System Manager register block aggregates different
peripheral functions into one area.
On 32 bit ARM parts, handle in the same way as syscon.
On 64 bit ARM parts, the System Manager can only be accessed by
EL3 secure mode. Since a SMC call to EL3 is required, this new
driver uses regmaps similar to syscon to handle the SMC call.
Since regmaps abstract out the underlying register access, the
changes to drivers accessing the System Manager are minimal.

Core changes:
- The big change this time around is the irqchip handling in
the qualcomm pin controllers, closely coupled with the
gpiochip. This rework, in a classic fall-between-the-chairs
fashion has been sidestepped for too long. The Qualcomm
IRQchips using the SPMI and SSBI transport mechanisms have
been rewritten to use hierarchical irqchip. This creates
the base from which I intend to gradually pull support for
hierarchical irqchips into the gpiolib irqchip helpers to
cut down on duplicate code. We have too many hacks in the
kernel because people have been working around the missing
hierarchical irqchip for years, and once it was there,
noone understood it for a while. We are now slowly adapting
to using it. This is why this pull requests include changes
to MFD, SPMI, IRQchip core and some ARM Device Trees
pertaining to the Qualcomm chip family. Since Qualcomm have
so many chips and such large deployments it is paramount
that this platform gets this right, and now it (hopefully)
does.
- Core support for pull-up and pull-down configuration, also
from the device tree. When a simple GPIO chip support a
"off or on" pull-up or pull-down resistor, we provide a
way to set this up using machine descriptors or device tree.
If more elaborate control of pull up/down (such as
resistance shunt setting) is required, drivers should be
phased over to use pin control. We do not yet provide a
userspace ABI for this pull up-down setting but I suspect
the makers are going to ask for it soon enough. PCA953x
is the first user of this new API.
- The GPIO mockup driver has been revamped after some
discussion improving the IRQ simulator in the process.
The idea is to make it possible to use the mockup for
both testing and virtual prototyping, e.g. when you do
not yet have a GPIO expander to play with but really
want to get something to develop code around before
hardware is available. It's neat. The blackbox testing
usecase is currently making its way into kernelci.
- ACPI GPIO core preserves non direction flags when updating
flags.
- A new device core helper for devm_platform_ioremap_resource()
is funneled through the GPIO tree with Greg's ACK.

Currently the sm501 mfd driver can be compiled without any dependencies,
but through the use of dma_declare_coherent it really depends on
having DMA and iomem support. Normally we don't explicitly require DMA
support as we have stubs for it if on UML, but in this case the driver
selects support for dma_declare_coherent and thus also requires
memmap support. Guard this by an explicit dependency.

Lochnagar is an evaluation and development board for Cirrus
Logic Smart CODEC and Amp devices. It allows the connection of
most Cirrus Logic devices on mini-cards, as well as allowing
connection of various application processor systems to provide a
full evaluation platform. This driver supports the board
controller chip on the Lochnagar board. Audio system topology,
clocking and power can all be controlled through the Lochnagar
controller chip, allowing the device under test to be used in
a variety of possible use cases.
As the Lochnagar is a fairly complex device this MFD driver
allows the drivers for the various features to be bound
in. Initially clocking, regulator and pinctrl will be added as
these are necessary to configure the system. But in time at least
audio and voltage/current monitoring will also be added.

Building entire set of drivers as modules might require using initial

However adding such option is useful for testing and for multi-platform

Immutable Branch which moves the cros_ec_i2c and cros_ec_spi
transport drivers from mfd to platform/chrome. Changes in arm are a simple
rename in defconfigs. Change in input is a rename in help text.
There are some cros-ec transport drivers (I2C, SPI) living in MFD, while
others (LPC) living in drivers/platform. The transport drivers are more
platform specific. So, move the I2C and SPI transport drivers to the
platform/chrome directory. The patch also removes the MFD_ prefix of

Both Bay and Cherry Trail devices may be used together with a Crystal Cove
PMIC. Each platform has its own variant of the PMIC, which both use the
same ACPI HID, but they are not 100% compatible.
This commits makes the intel_soc_pmic_core code check the _HRV of the
ACPI-firmware-node and selects intel_soc_pmic_config_byt_crc resp.
intel_soc_pmic_config_cht_crc based on this.
This fixes the Bay Trail specific ACPI OpRegion code causing problems
on Cherry Trail devices. Specifically this was causing the external
microsd slot on a Dell Venue 8 5855 (Cherry Trail version) to not work
and the eMMC to become unreliable and throw lots of errors.

On x86 the AXP288 PMIC provides an ACPI OpRegion handler, which must be

MFD support for DA9061 is provided as part of the DA9062 device driver.
The registers header file adds two new chip variant IDs defined in DA9061
and DA9062 hardware. The core header file adds new software enumerations
for listing the valid DA9061 IRQs and a da9062_compatible_types enumeration
for distinguishing between DA9061/62 devices in software.
The core source code adds a new .compatible of_device_id entry. This is
extended from DA9062 to support both "dlg,da9061" and "dlg,da9062". The
.data entry now holds a reference to the enumerated device type.
A new regmap_irq_chip model is added for DA9061 and this supports the new
list of regmap_irq entries. A new mfd_cell da9061_devs[] array lists the
new sub system components for DA9061. Support is added for a new DA9061
regmap_config which lists the correct readable, writable and volatile
ranges for this chip.
The probe function uses the device tree compatible string to switch on the
da9062_compatible_types and configure the correct mfd cells, irq chip and
regmap config.
Kconfig is updated to reflect support for DA9061 and DA9062 PMICs.

can just call dev_get_regmap(dev.parent, NULL) to get the regmap.

The Kconfig and file naming for the PM8xxx driver is totally
confusing:
- Kconfig options MFD_PM8XXX and MFD_PM8921_CORE, some in-kernel
users depending on or selecting either at random.
- A driver file named pm8921-core.c even if it is indeed
used by the whole PM8xxx family of chips.
- An irqchip named pm8xxx since it was (I guess) realized that
the driver was generic for all pm8xxx PMICs.
As I may want to add support for PM8901 this is starting to get
really messy. Fix this situation by:
- Remove the MFD_PM8921_CORE symbol and rely solely on MFD_PM8XXX
and convert all users, including LEDs Kconfig and ARM defconfigs
for qcom and multi_v7 to use that single symbol.
- Renaming the driver to qcom-pm8xxx.c to fit along the two
other qcom* prefixed drivers.
- Rename functions withing the driver from 8921 to 8xxx to
indicate it is generic.
- Just drop the =m config from the pxa_defconfig, I have no clue
why it is even there, it is not a Qualcomm platform. (Possibly
older Kconfig noise from saveconfig.)

The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is:
drivers/mfd/Kconfig:config MFD_AS3722
drivers/mfd/Kconfig: bool "ams AS3722 Power Management IC"
...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone.
In response to an earlier patch set suggesting removal of the unused
modular code, Laxman suggested that this driver be instead moved to
tristate.
We do that here, and confirm it can build and modpost as a tristate.
However there remains to be runtime testing in order to ensure this
change is 100% functional for "=m".

The MFD_VEXPRESS_SYSREG driver selects CLKSRC_MMIO, which in turn
conflicts with ARCH_USES_GETTIMEOFFSET, causing a harmless Kconfig
warning when it is set:
warning: (ARCH_MVEBU && ARCH_DIGICOLOR && ARCH_GEMINI && ARCH_KEYSTONE && ARCH_MOXART && ARCH_MXS && PLAT_SPEAR && ARCH_SUNXI && ARCH_TEGRA && ARCH_U300 && PLAT_ORION && ARCH_CLPS711X && ARCH_EP93XX && ARCH_NETX && ARCH_IXP4XX && ARCH_KS8695 && ARCH_W90X900 && ARCH_PXA && ARCH_SA1100 && ARCH_OMAP1 && ARCH_BCM_IPROC && ARCH_INTEGRATOR_AP && ARCH_OMAP2PLUS && MFD_VEXPRESS_SYSREG) selects CLKSRC_MMIO which has unmet direct dependencies (!ARCH_USES_GETTIMEOFFSET)
This was apparently hidden by the fact that no ARM platform that
still sets ARCH_USES_GETTIMEOFFSET has gpiolib support, and we
already have a dependency on GPIOLIB that I added a while ago.
However, after 296ad4acb8 ("gpio: remove deps on
ARCH_[WANT_OPTIONAL|REQUIRE]_GPIOLIB"), any platform can enable
CONFIG_GPIOLIB, and that lets us enable MFD_VEXPRESS_SYSREG
as well.
This adds an explicit dependency on !ARCH_USES_GETTIMEOFFSET
to guarantee that we can enable the CLKSRC_MMIO driver without
getting warnings.

This driver supports the new Atmel Flexcom. The Flexcom is a wrapper which
integrates one SPI controller, one I2C controller and one USART. Only one
function can be enabled at a time. This driver selects the function once
for all, when the Flexcom is probed, according to the value of the new
"atmel,flexcom-mode" device tree property.
This driver has chosen to present the Flexcom to the system as a MFD so
the implementation is seamless for the existing Atmel SPI, I2C and USART
drivers.
Also the Flexcom embeds FIFOs: the latest patches of the SPI, I2C and

The MFD_CROS_EC symbol select CHROME_PLATFORMS and CROS_EC_PROTO but
that caused a Kconfig unmet direct dependencies warning since these
symbols could only be selected for X86 || ARM.
The fix it, the CHROME_PLATFORMS dependencies were relexed on commit
d12bbcd3ea ("platform/chrome: Don't make CHROME_PLATFORMS depends
on X86 || ARM") but that was found to be wrong and the correct fix
is to add the needed dependencies to the MFD_CROS_EC config symbol.
There are only x86 and ARM based Chromebooks so to avoid showing up
the config option on unsupported platforms, make the symbol depend on
these architectures. Also add a || COMPILE_TEST so it can have build
coverage on other platforms.

The ChromeOS EC SPI and I2C transport drivers depends on CROS_EC_PROTO
but MFD_CROS_EC select CROS_EC_PROTO instead. Mixing select and depends
on is bad practice as it may lead to circular Kconfig dependencies.
Since these drivers already depend on MFD_CROS_EC and that config option
already selects CROS_EC_PROTO, there is no need to make them explicitly
depend on CROS_EC_PROTO since that dependency is already met.

The ChromeOS EC SPI transport driver has a dependency on OF because it
uses some OF helpers from the <linux/of.h> header. But there isn't a
need for an explicit dependency since the header has stub functions if
CONFIG_OF is not defined.
Also, MFD_CROS_EC_SPI already depends on MFD_CROS_EC which in turn has
a dependency on OF so in practice can't be selected without CONFIG_OF.

The new coming Intel platforms such as Skylake will contain Sunrisepoint PCH.
The main difference to the previous platforms is that the LPSS devices are
compound devices where usually main (SPI, HSUART, or I2C) and DMA IPs are
present.
This patch brings the driver for such devices found on Sunrisepoint PCH.

This is needed as the CRC PMIC has support for Panel
enable/diable as gpio which needs 'gpiod_add_lookup_table'
and 'gpiod_remove_lookup_table' from gpiolib. This patch
can be squashed with below commit in topic/crc-pmic branch

mfd: intel_soc_pmic_core: Add lookup table for Panel Control as GPIO
signal
On some Intel SoC platforms, the panel enable/disable signals
are controlled by CRC PMIC. Add those control as a new GPIO in a
lookup table for gpio-crystalcove chip during CRC driver load

The GPIO subsystem provides dummy GPIO consumer functions if GPIOLIB is
not enabled. Hence drivers that depend on GPIOLIB, but use GPIO consumer
functionality only, can still be compiled if GPIOLIB is not enabled.
Relax the dependency on GPIOLIB if COMPILE_TEST is enabled, where
appropriate.

The MFD driver should only have the logic to instantiate its child devices
and setup any shared resources that will be used by the subdevices drivers.
The cros_ec MFD is more complex than expected since it also has helpers to
communicate with the EC. So the driver will only get more bigger as other
protocols are supported in the future. So move the communication protocol
helpers to its own driver as drivers/platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c.
