Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo bb9a33cb8a tools include uapi: Update if_link.h to pick IFLA_{BRPORT_ISOLATED,VXLAN_TTL_INHERIT}
The IFLA_BRPORT_ISOLATED and IFLA_VXLAN_TTL_INHERIT defines were added in:

  7d850abd5f ("net: bridge: add support for port isolation")
  72f6d71e49 ("vxlan: add ttl inherit support")

Pick them, silencing this build warning:

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo 801f5e1ac7 tools include powerpc: Update arch/powerpc/include/uapi/asm/unistd.h copy to get 'rseq' syscall
This updates the tools/perf/ copy of the powerpc file used to generate
the syscall table file used to make 'perf trace' become aware of the new
'rseq' syscall, no matter in which system it gets built, i.e. older
systems where the syscalls are not available in the running kernel (via
tracefs) or in the system headers will still be aware of these
syscalls/.

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo b1494ec029 perf tools: Update x86's syscall_64.tbl, adding 'io_pgetevents' and 'rseq'
This updates the tools/perf/ copy of the system call table for x86 which makes
'perf trace' become aware of the new 'io_pgetevents' and 'rseq' syscalls, no
matter in which system it gets built, i.e. older systems where the syscalls are
not available in the running kernel (via tracefs) or in the system headers will
still be aware of these syscalls/.

These are the csets introducing the source drift:

Jiri Olsa 16ddcfbf7f perf tests: Add valid callback for parse-events test
Adding optional 'valid' callback for events tests in parse-events
object, so we don't try to parse PMUs, which are not supported.

Following line is displayed for skipped test:

Sandipan Das 143c99f6ac perf report powerpc: Fix crash if callchain is empty
For some cases, the callchain provided by the kernel may be empty. So,
the callchain ip filtering code will cause a crash if we do not check
whether the struct ip_callchain pointer is NULL before accessing any
members.

This can be observed on a powerpc64le system running Fedora 27 as shown
below.

Thomas Richter b930e62ecd perf test session topology: Fix test on s390
On s390 this test case fails because the socket identifiction numbers
assigned to the CPU are higher than the CPU identification numbers.

F/ix this by adding the platform architecture into the perf data header
flag information. This helps identifiing the test platform and handles
s390 specifics in process_cpu_topology().

Thomas Richter 0176622953 perf record: Support s390 random socket_id assignment
On s390 the socket identifier assigned to a CPU identifier is random and
(depending on the configuration of the LPAR) may be higher than the CPU
identifier. This is currently not supported.

Fix this by allowing arbitrary socket identifiers being assigned to
CPU id.

Oleg Nesterov 90718e32e1 uprobes/x86: Remove incorrect WARN_ON() in uprobe_init_insn()
insn_get_length() has the side-effect of processing the entire instruction
but only if it was decoded successfully, otherwise insn_complete() can fail
and in this case we need to just return an error without warning.

Anna-Maria Gleixner 59dc6f3c6d signal: Remove no longer required irqsave/restore
Commit a841796f11 ("signal: align __lock_task_sighand() irq disabling and
RCU") introduced a rcu read side critical section with interrupts
disabled. The changelog suggested that a better long-term fix would be "to
make rt_mutex_unlock() disable irqs when acquiring the rt_mutex structure's
->wait_lock".

This long-term fix has been made in commit b4abf91047 ("rtmutex: Make
wait_lock irq safe") for a different reason.

Therefore revert commit a841796f11 ("signal: align >
__lock_task_sighand() irq disabling and RCU") as the interrupt disable
dance is not longer required.

The change was tested on the base of b4abf91047 ("rtmutex: Make wait_lock
irq safe") with a four hour run of rcutorture scenario TREE03 with lockdep
enabled as suggested by Paul McKenney.

Merge proc_cmdline simplifications.

This re-writes the get_mm_cmdline() logic to be rather simpler than it
used to be, and makes the semantics for "cmdline goes past the end of
the original area" more natural.

You _can_ use prctl(PR_SET_MM) to just point your command line somewhere
else entirely, but the traditional model is to just edit things in place
and that still needs to continue to work.  At least this way the code
makes some sense.

Here is the big staging and IIO driver update for 4.18-rc1.
 
 It was delayed as I wanted to make sure the final driver deletions did
 not cause any major merge issues, and all now looks good.
 
 There are a lot of patches here, just over 1000.  The diffstat summary
 shows the major changes here:
 	1007 files changed, 16828 insertions(+), 227770 deletions(-)
 Because of this, we might be close to shrinking the overall kernel
 source code size for two releases in a row.
 
 There was loads of work in this release cycle, primarily:
 	- tons of ks7010 driver cleanups
 	- lots of mt7621 driver fixes and cleanups
 	- most driver cleanups
 	- wilc1000 fixes and cleanups
 	- lots and lots of IIO driver cleanups and new additions
 	- debugfs cleanups for all staging drivers
 	- lots of other staging driver cleanups and fixes, the shortlog
 	  has the full details.
 
 but the big user-visable things here are the removal of 3 chunks of
 code:
 	- ncpfs and ipx were removed on schedule, no one has cared about

 	  developers about once a year for the past 5 years, with no

 	  while, this whole thing really really is not working out at
 	  all.  So I'm deleting it so that the developers can spend the

Dan Carpenter 77016199f1 nvme: cleanup double shift issue
The problem here is that set_bit() and test_bit() take a bit number so
we should be passing 0 but instead we're passing (1 << 0) which leads to
a double shift.  It doesn't cause a runtime bug in the current code
because it's done consistently and we only set that one bit.

I decided to just re-use NVME_AER_NOTICE_NS_CHANGED instead of
introducing a new define for this.

Keith Busch 69f4eb9ff7 nvme-pci: make CMB SQ mod-param read-only
A controller reset after a run time change of the CMB module parameter
breaks the driver. An 'on -> off' will have the driver use NULL for the
host memory queue, and 'off -> on' will use mismatched queue depth between
the device and the host.

We could fix both, but there isn't really a good reason to change this
at run time anyway, compared to at module load time, so this patch makes
parameter read-only after after modprobe.

This patch ensures the nvme namsepace request queues are not quiesced
on a surprise removal. It's possible the queues were previously killed
in a failed reset, so the queues need to be unquiesced to ensure all

The controller is required to disable its host memory buffer use on

Keith Busch ded45505db nvme-pci: queue creation fixes
We've been ignoring NVMe error status on queue creations. Fortunately they
are uncommon, but we should handle these anyway. This patch adds checks
for the a positive error return value that indicates an NVMe status.

If we do see a negative return, the controller isn't usable, so this
patch returns immediately in since we can't unwind that failure.
