Christoph Hellwig 5dac33ad6f moxart_ether: pass struct device to DMA API functions
The DMA API generally relies on a struct device to work properly, and
only barely works without one for legacy reasons. Pass the easily

Kees Cook 6da2ec5605 treewide: kmalloc() -> kmalloc_array()
The kmalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kmalloc_array(). This
patch replaces cases of:

        kmalloc(a * b, gfp)

with:
        kmalloc_array(a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        kmalloc(a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        kmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        kmalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        kmalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

The tools/ directory was manually excluded, since it has its own
implementation of kmalloc().

The Coccinelle script used for this was:

// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

Jonas Jensen c2b341a620 net: moxa: fix TX overrun memory leak
moxart_mac_start_xmit() doesn't care where tx_tail is, tx_head can
catch and pass tx_tail, which is bad because moxart_tx_finished()
isn't guaranteed to catch up on freeing resources from tx_tail.

Add a check in moxart_mac_start_xmit() stopping the queue at the
end of the circular buffer. Also add a check in moxart_tx_finished()
waking the queue if the buffer has TX_WAKE_THRESHOLD or more
free descriptors.

While we're at it, move spin_lock_irq() to happen before our
descriptor pointer is assigned in moxart_mac_start_xmit().

Jarod Wilson a52ad514fd net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usage
With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.

Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

Arnd Bergmann 59a557be38 net: moxart: use correct accessors for DMA memory
The moxart ethernet driver confuses coherent DMA buffers with
MMIO registers.

moxart_ether.c: In function 'moxart_mac_setup_desc_ring':
moxart_ether.c:146:428: error: passing argument 1 of '__fswab32' makes integer from pointer without a cast [-Werror=int-conversion]
moxart_ether.c:74:39: warning: incorrect type in argument 3 (different address spaces)
moxart_ether.c:74:39: expected void *cpu_addr
moxart_ether.c:74:39: got void [noderef] <asn:2>*tx_desc_base

This leaves the basic logic alone and uses normal pointers for
the virtual address of the descriptor. As we cannot use readl/writel
to access them, we also introduce our own moxart_desc_read
moxart_desc_write helpers that perform the same endianess swap
as the original code, but without the address space conversion.

The barriers are made explicit here where needed: Even in the worst-case
scenario, we just have to use a rmb() after checking ownership so
we don't read any input data before we are sure it is value, and we
use wmb() before transferring ownership back to the device.

Jonas Jensen 9fe1b3bc8d net: moxa: replace build_skb() with netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align() / memcpy()
build_skb() is used to make skbs out of existing RX ring memory
which is bad because the RX ring is allocated only once, on probe.
Memory corruption occur because said memory is reclaimed, i.e.
__kfree_skb() (and eventually put_page()).

Replace build_skb() with netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align() and use memcpy().

Remove SKB_DATA_ALIGN() from RX buffer size while we're at it.

Jonas Jensen b853f31940 net: moxa: clear DESC1 on ndo_start_xmit()
TX buffer length is not cleared on ndo_start_xmit().
Failing to do so can bug/hang the controller and
cause TX interrupts to stop altogether.

Remove the readl() and compute a new value for DESC1.

Paul Gortmaker a81ab36bf5 drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which
has been submitted separately.

Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz 437a3ae1d0 ethernet: moxa: fix incorrect placement of __initdata tag
__initdata tag should be placed between the variable name and equal
sign for the variable to be placed in the intended .init.data section.

In this particular case __initdata is incorrect as moxart_mac_driver
can be used after the driver gets initialized.

Also while at it static-ize moxart_mac_driver.

Jonas Jensen 6c821bd9ed net: Add MOXA ART SoCs ethernet driver
The MOXA UC-711X hardware(s) has an ethernet controller that seem
to be developed internally. The IC used is "RTL8201CP".

Since there is no public documentation, this driver is mostly the
one published by MOXA that has been heavily cleaned up / ported
from linux 2.6.9.
