Dmitry Osipenko 22d7ee32f1 gpu: host1x: Fix hang on Tegra186+
Tegra186+ hangs if host1x hardware is disabled at a kernel boot time
because we touch hardware before runtime PM is resumed. Move sync point
assignment initialization to the RPM-resume callback. Older SoCs were
unaffected because they skip that sync point initialization.

Dmitry Osipenko d5185965c3 gpu: host1x: Add back arm_iommu_detach_device()
Host1x DMA buffer isn't mapped properly when CONFIG_ARM_DMA_USE_IOMMU=y.
The memory management code of Host1x driver has a longstanding overhaul
overdue and it's not obvious where the problem is in this case. Hence
let's add back the old workaround which we already had sometime before.
It explicitly detaches Host1x device from the offending implicit IOMMU
domain. This fixes a completely broken Host1x DMA in case of ARM32
multiplatform kernel config.

Dmitry Osipenko 9ca790f446 gpu: host1x: Add host1x_channel_stop()
Add host1x_channel_stop() which waits till channel becomes idle and then
stops the channel hardware. This is needed for supporting suspend/resume
by host1x drivers since the hardware state is lost after power-gating,
thus the channel needs to be stopped before client enters into suspend.

Dmitry Osipenko 6b6776e2ab gpu: host1x: Add initial runtime PM and OPP support
Add runtime PM and OPP support to the Host1x driver. For the starter we
will keep host1x always-on because dynamic power management require a major
refactoring of the driver code since lot's of code paths are missing the
RPM handling and we're going to remove some of these paths in the future.

Thierry Reding c6aeaf56f4 drm/tegra: Implement correct DMA-BUF semantics
DMA-BUF requires that each device that accesses a DMA-BUF attaches to it
separately. To do so the host1x_bo_pin() and host1x_bo_unpin() functions
need to be reimplemented so that they can return a mapping, which either
represents an attachment or a map of the driver's own GEM object.

Thierry Reding afa770fe57 gpu: host1x: debug: Dump only relevant parts of CDMA push buffer
Dumping the full CDMA push buffer takes a long time and isn't very
useful since most of the contents are not relevant. Instead only show
the CDMA push buffer entries associated with current jobs.

While at it, tweak the indentation a bit to make the output more
readable.

Thierry Reding ff41dd2748 gpu: host1x: debug: Use dma_addr_t more consistently
The host1x debug code uses a mix of phys_addr_t, dma_addr_t and u32 to
represent addresses. However, these addresses are always DMA addresses
so use the appropriate type.

This fixes some issues with how these addresses are displayed, because
they could be truncated in some cases and not show the full address.

Mikko Perttunen 0fddaa85d6 gpu: host1x: Add option to skip firewall for a job
The new UAPI will have its own firewall, and we don't want to run
the firewall in the Host1x driver for those jobs. As such, add a
parameter to host1x_job_alloc to specify if we want to skip the
firewall in the Host1x driver.

Mikko Perttunen e902585fc8 gpu: host1x: Add support for syncpoint waits in CDMA pushbuffer
Add support for inserting syncpoint waits in the CDMA pushbuffer.
These waits need to be done in HOST1X class, while gather submitted
by the application execute in engine class.

Support is added by converting the gather list of job into a command
list that can include both gathers and waits. When the job is
submitted, these commands are pushed as the appropriate opcodes
on the CDMA pushbuffer.

Also supported are waits relative to the start of the job,
which are useful for jobs doing multiple things with an engine
that doesn't natively support pipelining.

While at it, use 32-bit waits on chips that support them.

Mikko Perttunen c78f837ae3 gpu: host1x: Add no-recovery mode
Add a new property for jobs to enable or disable recovery i.e.
CPU increments of syncpoints to max value on job timeout. This
allows for a more solid model for hanged jobs, where userspace
doesn't need to guess if a syncpoint increment happened because
the job completed, or because job timeout was triggered.

On job timeout, we stop the channel, NOP all future jobs on the
channel using the same syncpoint, mark the syncpoint as locked
and resume the channel from the next job, if any.

The future jobs are NOPed, since because we don't do the CPU
increments, the value of the syncpoint is no longer synchronized,
and any waiters would become confused if a future job incremented
the syncpoint. The syncpoint is marked locked to ensure that any
future jobs cannot increment the syncpoint either, until the
application has recognized the situation and reallocated the
syncpoint.

Mikko Perttunen 687db2207b gpu: host1x: Add DMA fence implementation
Add an implementation of dma_fences based on syncpoints. Syncpoint
interrupts are used to signal fences. Additionally, after
software signaling has been enabled, a 30 second timeout is started.
If the syncpoint threshold is not reached within this period,
the fence is signalled with an -ETIMEDOUT error code. This is to
allow fences that would never reach their syncpoint threshold to
be cleaned up. The timeout can potentially be removed in the future
after job tracking code has been refactored.

Thierry Reding 0cfe5a6e75 gpu: host1x: Split up client initalization and registration
In some cases we may need to initialize the host1x client first before
registering it. This commit adds a new helper that will do nothing but
the initialization of the data structure.

At the same time, the initialization is removed from the registration
function. Note, however, that for simplicity we explicitly initialize
the client when the host1x_client_register() function is called, as
opposed to the low-level __host1x_client_register() function. This
allows existing callers to remain unchanged.

Syncpoint interrupts are not working as expected on Tegra194. The
problem is that the syncpoint interrupt threshold being used is the
global interrupt threshold and not the virtual interrupt threshold.
Fix this by using the virtual interrupt threshold which aligns with
downstream.

Mikko Perttunen 5a8d95d20c gpu: host1x: Assign intr waiter inside lock
Move the assignment of the ref out-pointer in host1x_intr_add_action
to happen within the spinlock. With the current arrangement,
it is possible for the waiter to complete before the assignment
has happened, which breaks horribly if the waiter completion
callback tries to use the reference.

In practice, there is currently no situation where this issue can
manifest -- it was first noticed with the upcoming DMA fence
implementation patches. As such this doesn't need to be backported.

Mikko Perttunen f5ba33fb96 gpu: host1x: Reserve VBLANK syncpoints at initialization
On T20-T148 chips, the bootloader can set up a boot splash
screen with DC configured to increment syncpoint 26/27
at VBLANK. Because of this we shouldn't allow these syncpoints
to be allocated until DC has been reset and will no longer
increment them in the background.

As such, on these chips, reserve those two syncpoints at
initialization, and only mark them free once the DC
driver has indicated it's safe to do so.

Mikko Perttunen f63b42cbc8 gpu: host1x: Use HW-equivalent syncpoint expiration check
Make syncpoint expiration checks always use the same logic used by
the hardware. This ensures that there are no race conditions that
could occur because of the hardware triggering a syncpoint interrupt
and then the driver disagreeing.

One situation where this could occur is if a job incremented a
syncpoint too many times -- then the hardware would trigger an
interrupt, but the driver would assume that a syncpoint value
greater than the syncpoint's max value is in the future, and not
clean up the job.

Marek Szyprowski 67ed9f9d95 drm: host1x: fix common struct sg_table related issues
The Documentation/DMA-API-HOWTO.txt states that the dma_map_sg() function
returns the number of the created entries in the DMA address space.
However the subsequent calls to the dma_sync_sg_for_{device,cpu}() and
dma_unmap_sg must be called with the original number of the entries
passed to the dma_map_sg().

struct sg_table is a common structure used for describing a non-contiguous
memory buffer, used commonly in the DRM and graphics subsystems. It
consists of a scatterlist with memory pages and DMA addresses (sgl entry),
as well as the number of scatterlist entries: CPU pages (orig_nents entry)
and DMA mapped pages (nents entry).

It turned out that it was a common mistake to misuse nents and orig_nents
entries, calling DMA-mapping functions with a wrong number of entries or
ignoring the number of mapped entries returned by the dma_map_sg()
function.

To avoid such issues, lets use a common dma-mapping wrappers operating
directly on the struct sg_table objects and use scatterlist page
iterators where possible. This, almost always, hides references to the
nents and orig_nents entries, making the code robust, easier to follow
and copy/paste safe.

Sowjanya Komatineni cf5153e433 media: gpu: host1x: mipi: Keep MIPI clock enabled and mutex locked till calibration done
With the split of MIPI calibration into tegra_mipi_calibrate() and
tegra_mipi_wait(), MIPI clock is not kept enabled and mutex is not locked
till the calibration is done.

So, this patch keeps MIPI clock enabled and mutex locked after triggering
start of calibration till its done.

To let calibration process go through its finite sequence codes before
calibration logic waiting for pads idle state added wait time of 75usec
to make sure it sees idle state to apply the results.

This patch renames tegra_mipi_calibrate() as tegra_mipi_start_calibration()
and tegra_mipi_wait() as tegra_mipi_finish_calibration() to be inline
with their usage.

Once channel's job is hung, it dumps the channel's state into KMSG before
tearing down the offending job. If multiple channels hang at once, then
they dump messages simultaneously, making the debug info unreadable, and

debug messages at a time.

Sowjanya Komatineni b3f1b76071 gpu: host1x: mipi: Split tegra_mipi_calibrate() and tegra_mipi_wait()
SW can trigger MIPI pads calibration any time after power on
but calibration results will be latched and applied to the pads
by MIPI CAL unit only when the link is in LP-11 state and then
status register will be updated.

For CSI, trigger of pads calibration happen during CSI stream
enable where CSI receiver is kept ready prior to sensor or CSI
transmitter stream start.

So, pads may not be in LP-11 at this time and waiting for the
calibration to be done immediate after calibration start will
result in timeout.

This patch splits tegra_mipi_calibrate() and tegra_mipi_wait()
so triggering for calibration and waiting for it to complete can
happen at different stages.

Thierry Reding d9a0a05bf8 gpu: host1x: Detach driver on unregister
Currently when a host1x device driver is unregistered, it is not
detached from the host1x controller, which means that the device
will stay around and when the driver is registered again, it may
bind to the old, stale device rather than the new one that was
created from scratch upon driver registration. This in turn can
cause various weird crashes within the driver core because it is
confronted with a device that was already deleted.

Fix this by detaching the driver from the host1x controller when
it is unregistered. This ensures that the deleted device also is
no longer present in the device list that drivers will bind to.

Thierry Reding 273da5a046 drm/tegra: Reuse IOVA mapping where possible
This partially reverts the DMA API support that was recently merged
because it was causing performance regressions on older Tegra devices.
Unfortunately, the cache maintenance performed by dma_map_sg() and
dma_unmap_sg() causes performance to drop by a factor of 10.

The right solution for this would be to cache mappings for buffers per
consumer device, but that's a bit involved. Instead, we simply revert to
the old behaviour of sharing IOVA mappings when we know that devices can
do so (i.e. they share the same IOMMU domain).

Thierry Reding fd67e9c6ed drm/tegra: Do not implement runtime PM
The Tegra DRM driver heavily relies on the implementations for runtime
suspend/resume to be called at specific times. Unfortunately, there are
some cases where that doesn't work. One example is if the user disables
runtime PM for a given subdevice. Another example is that the PM core
acquires a reference to runtime PM during system sleep, effectively
preventing devices from going into low power modes. This is intentional
to avoid nasty race conditions, but it also causes system sleep to not
function properly on all Tegra systems.

Fix this by not implementing runtime PM at all. Instead, a minimal,
reference-counted suspend/resume infrastructure is added to the host1x
bus. This has the benefit that it can be used regardless of the system
power state (or any transitions we might be in), or whether or not the
user allows runtime PM.

Atomic modesetting guarantees that these functions will end up being
called at the right point in time, so the pitfalls for the more generic
runtime PM do not apply here.

Daniel Vetter 7a8139c54e drm/tegra: Map cmdbuf once for reloc processing
A few reasons to drop kmap:

- For native objects all we do is look at obj->vaddr anyway, so might
  as well not call functions for every page.

- Reloc-processing on dma-buf is ... questionable.

- Plus most dma-buf that bother kernel cpu mmaps give you at least
  vmap, much less kmaps. And all the ones relevant for arm-soc are
  again doing a obj->vaddr game anyway, there's no real kmap going on
  on arm it seems.

Plus this seems to be the only real in-tree user of dma_buf_kmap, and
I'd like to get rid of that.

Thierry Reding c8a2036474 gpu: host1x: Unconditionally select IOMMU_IOVA
Currently configurations can be generated where IOMMU_SUPPORT is
disabled but IOMMU_IOVA is built as a module and HOST1X as built-in. In
such a case, the symbols guarded by IOMMU_IOVA will not be available
when linking the host1x driver and cause a linking failure.

Simplify this by unconditionally selecting IOMMU_IOVA, which makes sure
that it will be forced to =y if HOST1X=y. Technically we can now get
IOMMU_IOVA code built-in even if we don't use it (host1x only uses it
when IOMMU_SUPPORT is also enabled), but such configuration are of a
mostly academic nature. In all practical configurations we want IOMMU
support anyway.

Thierry Reding 06867a362d gpu: host1x: Set DMA mask based on IOMMU setup
If the Tegra DRM clients are backed by an IOMMU, push buffers are likely
to be allocated beyond the 32-bit boundary if sufficient system memory
is available. This is problematic on earlier generations of Tegra where
host1x supports a maximum of 32 address bits for the GATHER opcode. More
recent versions of Tegra (Tegra186 and later) have a wide variant of the
GATHER opcode, which allows addressing up to 64 bits of memory.

If host1x itself is behind an IOMMU as well this doesn't matter because
the IOMMU's input address space is restricted to 32 bits on generations
without support for wide GATHER opcodes.

However, if host1x is not behind an IOMMU, it won't be able to process
push buffers beyond the 32-bit boundary on Tegra generations that don't
support wide GATHER opcodes. Restrict the DMA mask to 32 bits on these
generations prevents buffers from being allocated from beyond the 32-bit
boundary.

Currently when the gather buffers are copied, they are copied to a
buffer that is allocated for the host1x client that wants to execute the
command streams in the buffers. However, the gather buffers will be read
by the host1x device, which causes SMMU faults if the DMA API is backed
by an IOMMU.

Fix this by allocating the gather buffer copy for the host1x device,
which makes sure that it will be mapped into the host1x's IOVA space if
the DMA API is backed by an IOMMU.

Thierry Reding 80327ce3d4 gpu: host1x: Overhaul host1x_bo_{pin,unpin}() API
The host1x_bo_pin() and host1x_bo_unpin() APIs are used to pin and unpin
buffers during host1x job submission. Pinning currently returns the SG
table and the DMA address (an IOVA if an IOMMU is used or a physical
address if no IOMMU is used) of the buffer. The DMA address is only used
for buffers that are relocated, whereas the host1x driver will map
gather buffers into its own IOVA space so that they can be processed by
the CDMA engine.

This approach has a couple of issues. On one hand it's not very useful
to return a DMA address for the buffer if host1x doesn't need it. On the
other hand, returning the SG table of the buffer is suboptimal because a
single SG table cannot be shared for multiple mappings, because the DMA
address is stored within the SG table, and the DMA address may be
different for different devices.

Subsequent patches will move the host1x driver over to the DMA API which
doesn't work with a single shared SG table. Fix this by returning a new
SG table each time a buffer is pinned. This allows the buffer to be
referenced by multiple jobs for different engines.

Change the prototypes of host1x_bo_pin() and host1x_bo_unpin() to take a
struct device *, specifying the device for which the buffer should be
pinned. This is required in order to be able to properly construct the
SG table. While at it, make host1x_bo_pin() return the SG table because
that allows us to return an ERR_PTR()-encoded error code if we need to,
or return NULL to signal that we don't need the SG table to be remapped
and can simply use the DMA address as-is. At the same time, returning
the DMA address is made optional because in the example of command
buffers, host1x doesn't need to know the DMA address since it will have
to create its own mapping anyway.

Thierry Reding 31fa25f100 gpu: host1x: Do not link logical devices to DT nodes
Logical devices created by the host1x bus infrastructure don't need to
be associated with a device tree node. Doing so will cause the driver
core to attempt to hook up IOMMU operations and fail because it is not
a real device.

However, for backwards-compatibility, we need to provide various OF_*
uevent variables that were previously provided by of_device_uevent() and
which are parsed by libdrm in userspace when querying the available
devices. Do this by implementing a uevent callback for the host1x bus.

Thierry Reding 1e390478cf gpu: host1x: Increase maximum DMA segment size
Recent versions of the DMA API debug code have started to warn about
violations of the maximum DMA segment size. This is because the segment
size defaults to 64 KiB, which can easily be exceeded in large buffer
allocations such as used in DRM/KMS for framebuffers.

Technically the Tegra SMMU and ARM SMMU don't have a maximum segment
size (they map individual pages irrespective of whether they are
contiguous or not), so the choice of 4 MiB is a bit arbitrary here. The
maximum segment size is a 32-bit unsigned integer, though, so we can't
set it to the correct maximum size, which would be the size of the
aperture.

Dmitry Osipenko e8bad65938 gpu: host1x: Cancel only job that actually got stuck
Host1x doesn't have information about jobs inter-dependency, that is
something that will become available once host1x will get a proper
jobs scheduler implementation. Currently a hang job causes other unrelated
jobs to be canceled, that is a relic from downstream driver which is
irrelevant to upstream. Let's cancel only the hanging job and not to touch
other jobs in queue.

Thierry Reding e1f338c0f8 gpu: host1x: Optimize CDMA push buffer memory usage
The host1x CDMA push buffer is terminated by a special opcode (RESTART)
that tells the CDMA to wrap around to the beginning of the push buffer.
To accomodate the RESTART opcode, an extra 4 bytes are allocated on top
of the 512 * 8 = 4096 bytes needed for the 512 slots (1 slot = 2 words)
that are used for other commands passed to CDMA. This requires that two
memory pages are allocated, but most of the second page (4092 bytes) is
never used.

Decrease the number of slots to 511 so that the RESTART opcode fits
within the page. Adjust the push buffer wraparound code to take into
account push buffer sizes that are not a power of two.

Thierry Reding 0e43b8da15 gpu: host1x: Use correct semantics for HOST1X_CHANNEL_DMAEND
The HOST1X_CHANNEL_DMAEND is an offset relative to the value written to
the HOST1X_CHANNEL_DMASTART register, but it is currently treated as an
absolute address. This can cause SMMU faults if the CDMA fetches past a
pushbuffer's IOMMU mapping.

Properly setting the DMAEND prevents the CDMA from fetching beyond that
address and avoid such issues. This is currently not observed because a
whole (almost) page of essentially scratch space absorbs any excessive
prefetching by CDMA. However, changing the number of slots in the push
buffer can trigger these SMMU faults.

Thierry Reding 38fabcc953 gpu: host1x: Restrict IOVA space to DMA mask
On Tegra186 and later, the ARM SMMU provides an input address space that
is 48 bits wide. However, memory clients can only address up to 40 bits.
If the geometry is used as-is, allocations of IOVA space can end up in a
region that is not addressable by the memory clients.

To fix this, restrict the IOVA space to the DMA mask of the host1x
device.

registers need to be programmed to store the full 40 bits of push
buffer addresses.

Since command stream gathers can also reside in buffers in a 40-bit
address space, a new variant of the GATHER opcode is also introduced.
It takes two parameters: the first parameter contains the lower 32
bits of the address and the second parameter contains bits 32 to 39.

Thierry Reding 5a5fccbd8c gpu: host1x: Introduce support for wide opcodes
The CDMA push buffer can currently only handle opcodes that take a
single word parameter. However, the host1x implementation on Tegra186
and later supports opcodes that require multiple words as parameters.

Unfortunately the way the push buffer is structured, these wide opcodes
cannot simply be composed of two regular opcodes because that could
result in the wide opcode being split across the end of the push buffer
and the final RESTART opcode required to wrap the push buffer around
would break the wide opcode.

One way to fix this would be to remove the concept of slots to simplify
push buffer operations. However, that's not entirely trivial and should
be done in a separate patch. For now, simply use a different function
to push four-word opcodes into the push buffer. Technically only three
words are pushed, with the fourth word used as padding to preserve the
2-word alignment required by the slots abstraction. The fourth word is
always a NOP opcode.

Additional care must be taken when the end of the push buffer is
reached. If a four-word opcode doesn't fit into the push buffer without
being split by the boundary, NOP opcodes will be introduced and the new
wide opcode placed at the beginning of the push buffer.

In order to enable the MMIO path stream ID protection provided by the
incarnation of host1x found in Tegra186 and later, the host1x must be
provided with the list of stream ID register offsets for each of its
clients. Some clients (such as VIC) have multiple stream ID registers
that are assumed to be contiguous. The host1x is programmed with the
base offset and a limit which provide the range of registers that the
host1x needs to monitor for writes.

Dmitry Osipenko 4466b1f0e0 gpu: host1x: Skip IOMMU initialization if firewall is enabled
Host1x's CDMA can't access the command buffers if IOMMU and Host1x
firewall are enabled in the kernels config because firewall doesn't map
the copied buffer into IOVA space. Fix this by skipping IOMMU
initialization if firewall is enabled as firewall merges sparse cmdbufs
into a single contiguous buffer and hence IOMMU isn't needed in this case.
