Koji Matsuoka dc4aedbf7c drm: rcar-du: Add DPLL support
The implementation hardcodes a workaround for the H3 ES1.x SoC
regardless of the SoC revision, as the workaround can be safely applied
on all devices in the Gen3 family without any side effect.

Laurent Pinchart 381ddfe478 drm: rcar-du: Hardcode encoders types to DRM_MODE_ENCODER_NONE
Unlike the connector type, the encoder type is unused by userspace. As
it is equally unused in the driver, except in a single location where
the connector type can be used instead, hardcode it to
DRM_MODE_ENCODER_NONE. This allow removing all code that tries to
determine (unsuccessfully in case a bridge is used) the encoder type.

Daniel Vetter d55f7e5d54 drm: Create DEFINE_DRM_GEM_CMA_FOPS and roll it out to drivers
Less code ftw.

This converts all drivers except the tinydrm helper module. That one
needs more work, since it gets the THIS_MODULE reference from
tinydrm.ko instead of the actual driver module like it should.
Probably needs a similar trick like I used here with generating the
entire struct with a macro.

Shawn Guo 967dd48417 drm: remove drm_vblank_no_hw_counter assignment from driver code
Core code already makes drm_driver.get_vblank_counter hook optional by
letting drm_vblank_no_hw_counter be the default implementation for the
function hook. So the drm_vblank_no_hw_counter assignment in the driver
code becomes redundant and can be removed now.

Laurent Pinchart 4f7b0d2638 drm: rcar-du: Simplify and fix probe error handling
It isn't safe to call drm_dev_unregister() without first initializing
mode setting with drm_mode_config_init(). This leads to a crash if
either IO memory can't be remapped or vblank initialization fails.

Fix this by reordering the initialization sequence. Move vblank
initialization after the drm_mode_config_init() call, and move IO
remapping before drm_dev_alloc() to avoid the need to perform clean up
in case of failure.

While at it remove the explicit drm_vblank_cleanup() call from
rcar_du_remove() as the drm_dev_unregister() function already cleans up
vblank.

Chris Wilson f07df98063 drm/rcar-du: Remove redundant calls to drm_connector_register_all()
Up to now, the recommendation was for drivers to call drm_dev_register()
followed by drm_connector_register_all(). Now that

from any backwards compatibility issues with drivers not following the

Laurent Pinchart 8d3f9b2289 drm: rcar-du: Implement asynchronous commit support
Implement a custom .atomic_commit() handler that supports asynchronous
commits using a work queue. This can be used for userspace-driven
asynchronous commits, as well as for an atomic page flip implementation.

Laurent Pinchart 0cd90a5428 drm: rcar-du: Turn vblank on/off when enabling/disabling CRTC
The DRM core vblank handling mechanism requires drivers to forcefully
turn vblank reporting off when disabling the CRTC, and to restore the
vblank reporting status when enabling the CRTC.

Implement this using the drm_crtc_vblank_on/off helpers. When disabling
vblank we must first wait for page flips to complete, so implement page
flip completion wait as well.

Finally, drm_crtc_vblank_off() must be called at startup to synchronize
the state of the vblank core code with the hardware, which is initially
disabled. This is performed at CRTC creation time, requiring vertical
blanking to be initialized before creating CRTCs.

Linus Torvalds 988adfdffd Merge branch 'drm-next' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux
Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie:
 "Highlights:

   - AMD KFD driver merge

This is the AMD HSA interface for exposing a lowlevel interface for
GPGPU use. They have an open source userspace built on top of this
interface, and the code looks as good as it was going to get out of
     tree.

   - Initial atomic modesetting work

The need for an atomic modesetting interface to allow userspace to
try and send a complete set of modesetting state to the driver has
arisen, and been suffering from neglect this past year. No more,
the start of the common code and changes for msm driver to use it
are in this tree. Ongoing work to get the userspace ioctl finished
and the code clean will probably wait until next kernel.

   - DisplayID 1.3 and tiled monitor exposed to userspace.

Tiled monitor property is now exposed for userspace to make use of.

   - Rockchip drm driver merged.

   - imx gpu driver moved out of staging

  Other stuff:

   - core:
panel - MIPI DSI + new panels.
expose suggested x/y properties for virtual GPUs

David Herrmann 915b4d11b8 drm: add driver->set_busid() callback
One step closer to dropping all the drm_bus_* code:
Add a driver->set_busid() callback and make all drivers use the generic
helpers. Nouveau is the only driver that uses two different bus-types with
the same drm_driver. This is totally broken if both buses are available on
the same machine (unlikely, but lets be safe). Therefore, we create two
different drivers for each platform during module_init() and set the
set_busid() callback respectively.

Daniel Vetter 57a24cf897 drm/rcar: call drm_put_dev directly in the ->remove hook
The magic dance drm_platform_exit does is actually a remnant of the
old legacy shadow attach support for platform devices. Modern modesetting
drm drivers shouldn't do this any more (and usb/pci devices actually don't
do this).
