Chengfeng Ye 6feb37b3b0 sctp: fix potential deadlock on &net->sctp.addr_wq_lock
As &net->sctp.addr_wq_lock is also acquired by the timer
sctp_addr_wq_timeout_handler() in protocal.c, the same lock acquisition
at sctp_auto_asconf_init() seems should disable irq since it is called
from sctp_accept() under process context.

Possible deadlock scenario:
sctp_accept()
    -> sctp_sock_migrate()
    -> sctp_auto_asconf_init()
    -> spin_lock(&net->sctp.addr_wq_lock)
        <timer interrupt>
        -> sctp_addr_wq_timeout_handler()
        -> spin_lock_bh(&net->sctp.addr_wq_lock); (deadlock here)

This flaw was found using an experimental static analysis tool we are
developing for irq-related deadlock.

The tentative patch fix the potential deadlock by spin_lock_bh().

Breno Leitao e1d001fa5b net: ioctl: Use kernel memory on protocol ioctl callbacks
Most of the ioctls to net protocols operates directly on userspace
argument (arg). Usually doing get_user()/put_user() directly in the
ioctl callback. This is not flexible, because it is hard to reuse these
functions without passing userspace buffers.

Change the "struct proto" ioctls to avoid touching userspace memory and
operate on kernel buffers, i.e., all protocol's ioctl callbacks is
adapted to operate on a kernel memory other than on userspace (so, no
more {put,get}_user() and friends being called in the ioctl callback).

This changes the "struct proto" ioctl format in the following way:

    int (*ioctl)(struct sock *sk, int cmd,
-                                        unsigned long arg);
+                                        int *karg);

(Important to say that this patch does not touch the "struct proto_ops"
protocols)

So, the "karg" argument, which is passed to the ioctl callback, is a
pointer allocated to kernel space memory (inside a function wrapper).
This buffer (karg) may contain input argument (copied from userspace in
a prep function) and it might return a value/buffer, which is copied
back to userspace if necessary. There is not one-size-fits-all format
(that is I am using 'may' above), but basically, there are three type of
ioctls:

1) Do not read from userspace, returns a result to userspace
2) Read an input parameter from userspace, and does not return anything
  to userspace
3) Read an input from userspace, and return a buffer to userspace.

The default case (1) (where no input parameter is given, and an "int" is
returned to userspace) encompasses more than 90% of the cases, but there
are two other exceptions. Here is a list of exceptions:

* Protocol RAW:
   * cmd = SIOCGETVIFCNT:
     * input and output = struct sioc_vif_req
   * cmd = SIOCGETSGCNT
     * input and output = struct sioc_sg_req
   * Explanation: for the SIOCGETVIFCNT case, userspace passes the input
     argument, which is struct sioc_vif_req. Then the callback populates
     the struct, which is copied back to userspace.

* Protocol RAW6:
   * cmd = SIOCGETMIFCNT_IN6
     * input and output = struct sioc_mif_req6
   * cmd = SIOCGETSGCNT_IN6
     * input and output = struct sioc_sg_req6

* Protocol PHONET:
  * cmd == SIOCPNADDRESOURCE | SIOCPNDELRESOURCE
     * input int (4 bytes)
  * Nothing is copied back to userspace.

For the exception cases, functions sock_sk_ioctl_inout() will
copy the userspace input, and copy it back to kernel space.

The wrapper that prepare the buffer and put the buffer back to user is
sk_ioctl(), so, instead of calling sk->sk_prot->ioctl(), the callee now
calls sk_ioctl(), which will handle all cases.

Guillaume Nault 3f06760c00 ipv4: Drop tos parameter from flowi4_update_output()
Callers of flowi4_update_output() never try to update ->flowi4_tos:

  * ip_route_connect() updates ->flowi4_tos with its own current
    value.

  * ip_route_newports() has two users: tcp_v4_connect() and
    dccp_v4_connect. Both initialise fl4 with ip_route_connect(), which
    in turn sets ->flowi4_tos with RT_TOS(inet_sk(sk)->tos) and
    ->flowi4_scope based on SOCK_LOCALROUTE.

    Then ip_route_newports() updates ->flowi4_tos with
    RT_CONN_FLAGS(sk), which is the same as RT_TOS(inet_sk(sk)->tos),
    unless SOCK_LOCALROUTE is set on the socket. In that case, the
    lowest order bit is set to 1, to eventually inform
    ip_route_output_key_hash() to restrict the scope to RT_SCOPE_LINK.
    This is equivalent to properly setting ->flowi4_scope as
    ip_route_connect() did.

  * ip_vs_xmit.c initialises ->flowi4_tos with memset(0), then calls
    flowi4_update_output() with tos=0.

  * sctp_v4_get_dst() uses the same RT_CONN_FLAGS_TOS() when
    initialising ->flowi4_tos and when calling flowi4_update_output().

In the end, ->flowi4_tos never changes. So let's just drop the tos
parameter. This will simplify the conversion of ->flowi4_tos from __u8
to dscp_t.

Xin Long 6ca328e985 sctp: fix an issue that plpmtu can never go to complete state
When doing plpmtu probe, the probe size is growing every time when it
receives the ACK during the Search state until the probe fails. When
the failure occurs, pl.probe_high is set and it goes to the Complete
state.

However, if the link pmtu is huge, like 65535 in loopback_dev, the probe
eventually keeps using SCTP_MAX_PLPMTU as the probe size and never fails.
Because of that, pl.probe_high can not be set, and the plpmtu probe can
never go to the Complete state.

Fix it by setting pl.probe_high to SCTP_MAX_PLPMTU when the probe size
grows to SCTP_MAX_PLPMTU in sctp_transport_pl_recv(). Also, not allow
the probe size greater than SCTP_MAX_PLPMTU in the Complete state.

Alexander Mikhalitsyn 2598619e01 sctp: add bpf_bypass_getsockopt proto callback
Implement ->bpf_bypass_getsockopt proto callback and filter out
SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF, SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF_FLAGS and SCTP_SOCKOPT_CONNECTX3
socket options from running eBPF hook on them.

SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF and SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF_FLAGS options do fd_install(),
and if BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT hook returns an error after success of
the original handler sctp_getsockopt(...), userspace will receive an error
from getsockopt syscall and will be not aware that fd was successfully
installed into a fdtable.

As pointed by Marcelo Ricardo Leitner it seems reasonable to skip
bpf getsockopt hook for SCTP_SOCKOPT_CONNECTX3 sockopt too.
Because internaly, it triggers connect() and if error is masked
then userspace will be confused.

This patch was born as a result of discussion around a new SCM_PIDFD interface:

Xin Long 42d452e770 sctp: add weighted fair queueing stream scheduler
As it says in rfc8260#section-3.6 about the weighted fair queueing
scheduler:

   A Weighted Fair Queueing scheduler between the streams is used. The
   weight is configurable per outgoing SCTP stream. This scheduler
   considers the lengths of the messages of each stream and schedules
   them in a specific way to use the capacity according to the given
   weights. If the weight of stream S1 is n times the weight of stream
   S2, the scheduler should assign to stream S1 n times the capacity it
   assigns to stream S2. The details are implementation dependent.
   Interleaving user messages allows for a better realization of the
   capacity usage according to the given weights.

This patch adds Weighted Fair Queueing Scheduler actually based on
the code of Fair Capacity Scheduler by adding fc_weight into struct
sctp_stream_out_ext and taking it into account when sorting stream->
fc_list in sctp_sched_fc_sched() and sctp_sched_fc_dequeue_done().

Xin Long 4821a076eb sctp: add fair capacity stream scheduler
As it says in rfc8260#section-3.5 about the fair capacity scheduler:

   A fair capacity distribution between the streams is used. This
   scheduler considers the lengths of the messages of each stream and
   schedules them in a specific way to maintain an equal capacity for
   all streams. The details are implementation dependent. interleaving
   user messages allows for a better realization of the fair capacity
   usage.

This patch adds Fair Capacity Scheduler based on the foundations added
by commit 5bbbbe32a4 ("sctp: introduce stream scheduler foundations"):

A fc_list and a fc_length are added into struct sctp_stream_out_ext and
a fc_list is added into struct sctp_stream. In .enqueue, when there are
chunks enqueued into a stream, this stream will be linked into stream->
fc_list by its fc_list ordered by its fc_length. In .dequeue, it always
picks up the 1st skb from stream->fc_list. In .dequeue_done, fc_length
is increased by chunk's len and update its location in stream->fc_list
according to the its new fc_length.

Note that when the new fc_length overflows in .dequeue_done, instead of
resetting all fc_lengths to 0, we only reduced them by U32_MAX / 4 to
avoid a moment of imbalance in the scheduling, as Marcelo suggested.

With this refcnt added in sctp_stream_priorities, we don't need to

can avoid a nested loop (up to 65535 * 65535), which may cause a

Xin Long 8f35ae17ef sctp: do not check hb_timer.expires when resetting hb_timer
It tries to avoid the frequently hb_timer refresh in commit ba6f5e33bd
("sctp: avoid refreshing heartbeat timer too often"), and it only allows
mod_timer when the new expires is after hb_timer.expires. It means even
a much shorter interval for hb timer gets applied, it will have to wait
until the current hb timer to time out.

In sctp_do_8_2_transport_strike(), when a transport enters PF state, it
expects to update the hb timer to resend a heartbeat every rto after
calling sctp_transport_reset_hb_timer(), which will not work as the
change mentioned above.

The frequently hb_timer refresh was caused by sctp_transport_reset_timers()
called in sctp_outq_flush() and it was already removed in the commit above.
So we don't have to check hb_timer.expires when resetting hb_timer as it is
now not called very often.

Jakub Sitnicki 91d0b78c51 inet: Add IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE socket option
Users who want to share a single public IP address for outgoing connections
between several hosts traditionally reach for SNAT. However, SNAT requires
state keeping on the node(s) performing the NAT.

A stateless alternative exists, where a single IP address used for egress
can be shared between several hosts by partitioning the available ephemeral
port range. In such a setup:

1. Each host gets assigned a disjoint range of ephemeral ports.
2. Applications open connections from the host-assigned port range.
3. Return traffic gets routed to the host based on both, the destination IP
   and the destination port.

An application which wants to open an outgoing connection (connect) from a
given port range today can choose between two solutions:

1. Manually pick the source port by bind()'ing to it before connect()'ing
   the socket.

   This approach has a couple of downsides:

   a) Search for a free port has to be implemented in the user-space. If
      the chosen 4-tuple happens to be busy, the application needs to retry
      from a different local port number.

      Detecting if 4-tuple is busy can be either easy (TCP) or hard
      (UDP). In TCP case, the application simply has to check if connect()
      returned an error (EADDRNOTAVAIL). That is assuming that the local
      port sharing was enabled (REUSEADDR) by all the sockets.

        # Assume desired local port range is 60_000-60_511
        s = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM)
        s.setsockopt(SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEADDR, 1)
        s.bind(("192.0.2.1", 60_000))
        s.connect(("1.1.1.1", 53))
        # Fails only if 192.0.2.1:60000 -> 1.1.1.1:53 is busy
        # Application must retry with another local port

      In case of UDP, the network stack allows binding more than one socket
      to the same 4-tuple, when local port sharing is enabled
      (REUSEADDR). Hence detecting the conflict is much harder and involves
      querying sock_diag and toggling the REUSEADDR flag [1].

   b) For TCP, bind()-ing to a port within the ephemeral port range means
      that no connecting sockets, that is those which leave it to the
      network stack to find a free local port at connect() time, can use
      the this port.

      IOW, the bind hash bucket tb->fastreuse will be 0 or 1, and the port
      will be skipped during the free port search at connect() time.

2. Isolate the app in a dedicated netns and use the use the per-netns
   ip_local_port_range sysctl to adjust the ephemeral port range bounds.

   The per-netns setting affects all sockets, so this approach can be used
   only if:

   - there is just one egress IP address, or
   - the desired egress port range is the same for all egress IP addresses
     used by the application.

   For TCP, this approach avoids the downsides of (1). Free port search and
   4-tuple conflict detection is done by the network stack:

     system("sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range='60000 60511'")

     s = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM)
     s.setsockopt(SOL_IP, IP_BIND_ADDRESS_NO_PORT, 1)
     s.bind(("192.0.2.1", 0))
     s.connect(("1.1.1.1", 53))
     # Fails if all 4-tuples 192.0.2.1:60000-60511 -> 1.1.1.1:53 are busy

  For UDP this approach has limited applicability. Setting the
  IP_BIND_ADDRESS_NO_PORT socket option does not result in local source
  port being shared with other connected UDP sockets.

  Hence relying on the network stack to find a free source port, limits the
  number of outgoing UDP flows from a single IP address down to the number
  of available ephemeral ports.

To put it another way, partitioning the ephemeral port range between hosts
using the existing Linux networking API is cumbersome.

To address this use case, add a new socket option at the SOL_IP level,
named IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE. The new option can be used to clamp down the
ephemeral port range for each socket individually.

The option can be used only to narrow down the per-netns local port
range. If the per-socket range lies outside of the per-netns range, the
latter takes precedence.

UAPI-wise, the low and high range bounds are passed to the kernel as a pair
of u16 values in host byte order packed into a u32. This avoids pointer
passing.

  PORT_LO = 40_000
  PORT_HI = 40_511

  s = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM)
  v = struct.pack("I", PORT_HI << 16 | PORT_LO)
  s.setsockopt(SOL_IP, IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE, v)
  s.bind(("127.0.0.1", 0))
  s.getsockname()
  # Local address between ("127.0.0.1", 40_000) and ("127.0.0.1", 40_511),
  # if there is a free port. EADDRINUSE otherwise.

Marcelo Ricardo Leitner 458e279f86 sctp: fail if no bound addresses can be used for a given scope
Currently, if you bind the socket to something like:
        servaddr.sin6_family = AF_INET6;
        servaddr.sin6_port = htons(0);
        servaddr.sin6_scope_id = 0;
        inet_pton(AF_INET6, "::1", &servaddr.sin6_addr);

And then request a connect to:
        connaddr.sin6_family = AF_INET6;
        connaddr.sin6_port = htons(20000);
        connaddr.sin6_scope_id = if_nametoindex("lo");
        inet_pton(AF_INET6, "fe88::1", &connaddr.sin6_addr);

What the stack does is:
 - bind the socket
 - create a new asoc
 - to handle the connect
   - copy the addresses that can be used for the given scope
   - try to connect

But the copy returns 0 addresses, and the effect is that it ends up
trying to connect as if the socket wasn't bound, which is not the
desired behavior. This unexpected behavior also allows KASLR leaks
through SCTP diag interface.

The fix here then is, if when trying to copy the addresses that can
be used for the scope used in connect() it returns 0 addresses, bail
out. This is what TCP does with a similar reproducer.

Merge tag 'random-6.2-rc1-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/crng/random

Pull random number generator updates from Jason Donenfeld:

 - Replace prandom_u32_max() and various open-coded variants of it,
   there is now a new family of functions that uses fast rejection
   sampling to choose properly uniformly random numbers within an
   interval:

       get_random_u32_below(ceil) - [0, ceil)
       get_random_u32_above(floor) - (floor, U32_MAX]
       get_random_u32_inclusive(floor, ceil) - [floor, ceil]

   Coccinelle was used to convert all current users of
   prandom_u32_max(), as well as many open-coded patterns, resulting in
   improvements throughout the tree.

   I'll have a "late" 6.1-rc1 pull for you that removes the now unused
   prandom_u32_max() function, just in case any other trees add a new
   use case of it that needs to converted. According to linux-next,
   there may be two trivial cases of prandom_u32_max() reintroductions
   that are fixable with a 's/.../.../'. So I'll have for you a final
   conversion patch doing that alongside the removal patch during the
   second week.

   This is a treewide change that touches many files throughout.

 - More consistent use of get_random_canary().

 - Updates to comments, documentation, tests, headers, and
   simplification in configuration.

 - The arch_get_random*_early() abstraction was only used by arm64 and
   wasn't entirely useful, so this has been replaced by code that works
   in all relevant contexts.

 - The kernel will use and manage random seeds in non-volatile EFI
   variables, refreshing a variable with a fresh seed when the RNG is
   initialized. The RNG GUID namespace is then hidden from efivarfs to
   prevent accidental leakage.

   These changes are split into random.c infrastructure code used in the
   EFI subsystem, in this pull request, and related support inside of
   EFISTUB, in Ard's EFI tree. These are co-dependent for full
   functionality, but the order of merging doesn't matter.

 - Part of the infrastructure added for the EFI support is also used for
   an improvement to the way vsprintf initializes its siphash key,
   replacing an sleep loop wart.

 - The hardware RNG framework now always calls its correct random.c
   input function, add_hwgenerator_randomness(), rather than sometimes
   going through helpers better suited for other cases.

 - The add_latent_entropy() function has long been called from the fork
   handler, but is a no-op when the latent entropy gcc plugin isn't
   used, which is fine for the purposes of latent entropy.

   But it was missing out on the cycle counter that was also being mixed
   in beside the latent entropy variable. So now, if the latent entropy
   gcc plugin isn't enabled, add_latent_entropy() will expand to a call
   to add_device_randomness(NULL, 0), which adds a cycle counter,
   without the absent latent entropy variable.

 - The RNG is now reseeded from a delayed worker, rather than on demand
   when used. Always running from a worker allows it to make use of the
   CPU RNG on platforms like S390x, whose instructions are too slow to
   do so from interrupts. It also has the effect of adding in new inputs
   more frequently with more regularity, amounting to a long term
   transcript of random values. Plus, it helps a bit with the upcoming
   vDSO implementation (which isn't yet ready for 6.2).

 - The jitter entropy algorithm now tries to execute on many different
   CPUs, round-robining, in hopes of hitting even more memory latencies
   and other unpredictable effects. It also will mix in a cycle counter
   when the entropy timer fires, in addition to being mixed in from the
   main loop, to account more explicitly for fluctuations in that timer
   firing. And the state it touches is now kept within the same cache
   line, so that it's assured that the different execution contexts will
   cause latencies.

Firo Yang da05cecc49 sctp: sysctl: make extra pointers netns aware
Recently, a customer reported that from their container whose
net namespace is different to the host's init_net, they can't set
the container's net.sctp.rto_max to any value smaller than
init_net.sctp.rto_min.

For instance,
Host:
sudo sysctl net.sctp.rto_min
net.sctp.rto_min = 1000

Container:
echo 100 > /mnt/proc-net/sctp/rto_min
echo 400 > /mnt/proc-net/sctp/rto_max
echo: write error: Invalid argument

This is caused by the check made from this'commit 4f3fdf3bc5
("sctp: add check rto_min and rto_max in sysctl")'
When validating the input value, it's always referring the boundary
value set for the init_net namespace.

Having container's rto_max smaller than host's init_net.sctp.rto_min
does make sense. Consider that the rto between two containers on the
same host is very likely smaller than it for two hosts.

So to fix this problem, as suggested by Marcelo, this patch makes the
extra pointers of rto_min, rto_max, pf_retrans, and ps_retrans point
to the corresponding variables from the newly created net namespace while
the new net namespace is being registered in sctp_sysctl_net_register.

Xin Long 7d802c8098 sctp: delete free member from struct sctp_sched_ops
After commit 9ed7bfc795 ("sctp: fix memory leak in
sctp_stream_outq_migrate()"), sctp_sched_set_sched() is the only
place calling sched->free(), and it can actually be replaced by
sched->free_sid() on each stream, and yet there's already a loop
to traverse all streams in sctp_sched_set_sched().

This patch adds a function sctp_sched_free_sched() where it calls
sched->free_sid() for each stream to replace sched->free() calls
in sctp_sched_set_sched() and then deletes the unused free member
from struct sctp_sched_ops.

Xin Long 0af0317063 sctp: add dif and sdif check in asoc and ep lookup
This patch at first adds a pernet global l3mdev_accept to decide if it
accepts the packets from a l3mdev when a SCTP socket doesn't bind to
any interface. It's set to 1 to avoid any possible incompatible issue,
and in next patch, a sysctl will be introduced to allow to change it.

Then similar to inet/udp_sk_bound_dev_eq(), sctp_sk_bound_dev_eq() is
added to check either dif or sdif is equal to sk_bound_dev_if, and to
check sid is 0 or l3mdev_accept is 1 if sk_bound_dev_if is not set.
This function is used to match a association or a endpoint, namely
called by sctp_addrs_lookup_transport() and sctp_endpoint_is_match().
All functions that needs updating are:

sctp_rcv():
  asoc:
  __sctp_rcv_lookup()
    __sctp_lookup_association() -> sctp_addrs_lookup_transport()
    __sctp_rcv_lookup_harder()
      __sctp_rcv_init_lookup()
         __sctp_lookup_association() -> sctp_addrs_lookup_transport()
      __sctp_rcv_walk_lookup()
         __sctp_rcv_asconf_lookup()
           __sctp_lookup_association() -> sctp_addrs_lookup_transport()

  ep:
  __sctp_rcv_lookup_endpoint() -> sctp_endpoint_is_match()

sctp_connect():
  sctp_endpoint_is_peeled_off()
    __sctp_lookup_association()
      sctp_has_association()
        sctp_lookup_association()
          __sctp_lookup_association() -> sctp_addrs_lookup_transport()

sctp_diag_dump_one():
  sctp_transport_lookup_process() -> sctp_addrs_lookup_transport()

Xin Long f87b1ac06c sctp: check sk_bound_dev_if when matching ep in get_port
In sctp_get_port_local(), when binding to IP and PORT, it should
also check sk_bound_dev_if to match listening sk if it's set by
SO_BINDTOIFINDEX, so that multiple sockets with the same IP and
PORT, but different sk_bound_dev_if can be listened at the same
time.

Xin Long 6fe1e52490 sctp: check ipv6 addr with sk_bound_dev if set
When binding to an ipv6 address, it calls ipv6_chk_addr() to check if
this address is on any dev. If a socket binds to a l3mdev but no dev
is passed to do this check, all l3mdev and slaves will be skipped and
the check will fail.

This patch is to pass the bound_dev to make sure the devices under the
same l3mdev can be returned in ipv6_chk_addr(). When the bound_dev is
not a l3mdev or l3slave, l3mdev_master_dev_rcu() will return NULL in
__ipv6_chk_addr_and_flags(), it will keep compitable with before when
NULL dev was passed.

Xin Long 26943aefa8 sctp: verify the bind address with the tb_id from l3mdev
After binding to a l3mdev, it should use the route table from the
corresponding VRF to verify the addr when binding to an address.

Note ipv6 doesn't need it, as binding to ipv6 address does not
verify the addr with route lookup.
