Kees Cook 2c513d4f7d ia64: Convert timers to use timer_setup()
In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to
all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer()
to pass the timer pointer explicitly.

One less trivial change was removing the repeated casting for callers
of bte_error_handler() by fixing its function declaration and adding a
small wrapper for the timer callback instead.

Paul Gortmaker 2e21fa2d11 ia64: don't use module_init for non-modular core kernel/mca.c code
The mca.c code is always built in. It will never be modular,
so using module_init as an alias for __initcall is rather
misleading.

Fix this up now, so that we can relocate module_init from
init.h into module.h in the future. If we don't do this, we'd
have to add module.h to obviously non-modular code, and that
would be a worse thing.

Direct use of __initcall is discouraged, vs prioritized ones.
Use of device_initcall is consistent with what __initcall
maps onto, and hence does not change the init order, making the
impact of this change zero. Should someone with real hardware
for boot testing want to change it later to arch_initcall or
something different, they can do that at a later date.

Linus Torvalds 1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
