Fix typo in a define: CEC_OP_REC_SEQ_SATERDAY -> CEC_OP_REC_SEQ_SATURDAY
This isn't used yet in actual applications to the best of my knowledge,
and it certainly doesn't break the ABI since the value doesn't change.

Alban Crequy reported a race condition userspace faces when we want to
add some fds and make the syscall return them[1] using seccomp notify.
The problem is that currently two different ioctl() calls are needed by
the process handling the syscalls (agent) for another userspace process
(target): SECCOMP_IOCTL_NOTIF_ADDFD to allocate the fd and
SECCOMP_IOCTL_NOTIF_SEND to return that value. Therefore, it is possible
for the agent to do the first ioctl to add a file descriptor but the
target is interrupted (EINTR) before the agent does the second ioctl()
call.
This patch adds a flag to the ADDFD ioctl() so it adds the fd and
returns that value atomically to the target program, as suggested by
Kees Cook[2]. This is done by simply allowing
seccomp_do_user_notification() to add the fd and return it in this case.
Therefore, in this case the target wakes up from the wait in
seccomp_do_user_notification() either to interrupt the syscall or to add
the fd and return it.
This "allocate an fd and return" functionality is useful for syscalls
that return a file descriptor only, like connect(2). Other syscalls that
return a file descriptor but not as return value (or return more than
one fd), like socketpair(), pipe(), recvmsg with SCM_RIGHTs, will not
work with this flag.
This effectively combines SECCOMP_IOCTL_NOTIF_ADDFD and
SECCOMP_IOCTL_NOTIF_SEND into an atomic opteration. The notification's
return value, nor error can be set by the user. Upon successful invocation
of the SECCOMP_IOCTL_NOTIF_ADDFD ioctl with the SECCOMP_ADDFD_FLAG_SEND
flag, the notifying process's errno will be 0, and the return value will
be the file descriptor number that was installed.

This is exciting for two reasons:
1) we delete a lot of legacy code that doesn't really meet the

exist only because of the old IDE code.

Currently, debugging unknown events requires writing a custom driver.
This is somewhat difficult, slow to adapt, and not entirely
user-friendly for quickly trying to figure out things on devices of some
third-party user. We can do better. We already have a user-space
interface intended for debugging SAM EC requests, so let's add support
for receiving events to that.
This commit provides support for receiving events by reading from the
controller file. It additionally introduces two new IOCTLs to control
which event categories will be forwarded. Specifically, a user-space
client can specify which target categories it wants to receive events
from by registering the corresponding notifier(s) via the IOCTLs and
after that, read the received events by reading from the controller
device.

The v4l2-ctrls.c source has become much too big, so split it up
into four separate parts:
v4l2-ctrls-core.c: contains the core framework code
v4l2-ctrls-api.c: contains the uAPI interface to the framework
v4l2-ctrls-defs.c: contains the control definitions
v4l2-ctrls-request.c: contains the Request API helpers
And it adds a new v4l2-ctrls-priv.h.
No code was changed, but a number of checkpatch.pl warnings were

and only defined in a private media header (media/mpeg2-ctrls.h).

The Hantro and Cedrus drivers work in frame-mode,
meaning they expect all the slices in a picture (either frame
or field structure) to be passed in each OUTPUT buffer.
These two are the only V4L2 MPEG-2 stateless decoders currently
supported. Given the VA-API drivers also work per-frame,
coalescing all the MPEG-2 slices in a buffer before the decoding
operation, it makes sense to not expect slice-mode drivers and
therefore remove V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_MPEG2_SLICE_PARAMS.
This is done to avoid carrying an unused interface. If needed,
this control can be added without breaking backwards compatibility.
Note that this would mean introducing a enumerator control to
specify the decoding mode (see V4L2_CID_STATELESS_H264_DECODE_MODE).

Typically, bitstreams are composed of a sequence header,
followed by a number of picture header and picture coding extension
headers. Each picture can be composed of a number of slices.
Let's split the MPEG-2 uAPI to follow these semantics more closely,
allowing more usage flexibility. Having these controls split up
allows applications to set a sequence control at the beginning
of a sequence, and then set a picture control for each frame.
While here add padding fields where needed, and document
the uAPI header thoroughly.
Note that the V4L2_CTRL_TYPE_{} defines had to be moved because
it clashes with existing ones. This is not really an issue
since they will be re-defined when the controls are moved
out of staging.

field and flag macro for each boolean syntax element.

As stated in the MPEG-2 specification, section 6.3.7 "Quant matrix
extension":
Each quantisation matrix has a default set of values. When a
sequence_header_code is decoded all matrices shall be reset to
their default values. User defined matrices may be downloaded
and this can occur in a sequence_header() or in a
quant_matrix_extension().
The load_intra_quantiser_matrix syntax elements are transmitted
in the bitstream headers, signalling that a quantisation matrix
needs to be loaded and used for pictures transmitted afterwards
(until the matrices are reset).
This "load" semantics are implemented in the V4L2 interface
without the need of any "load" flags: passing the control
is effectively a load.
Therefore, rework the V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_MPEG2_QUANTISATION
semantics to match the MPEG-2 semantics. Quantisation matrices
values are now initialized by the V4L2 control core to their
reset default value, and applications are expected to reset
their values as specified.
The quantisation control is therefore optional, and used to
load bitstream-defined values in the quantisation matrices.

Pull Landlock LSM from James Morris:
"Add Landlock, a new LSM from Mickaël Salaün.
Briefly, Landlock provides for unprivileged application sandboxing.
From Mickaël's cover letter:
"The goal of Landlock is to enable to restrict ambient rights (e.g.
global filesystem access) for a set of processes. Because Landlock
is a stackable LSM [1], it makes possible to create safe security
sandboxes as new security layers in addition to the existing
system-wide access-controls. This kind of sandbox is expected to
help mitigate the security impact of bugs or unexpected/malicious
behaviors in user-space applications. Landlock empowers any
process, including unprivileged ones, to securely restrict
themselves.
Landlock is inspired by seccomp-bpf but instead of filtering
syscalls and their raw arguments, a Landlock rule can restrict the
use of kernel objects like file hierarchies, according to the
kernel semantic. Landlock also takes inspiration from other OS
sandbox mechanisms: XNU Sandbox, FreeBSD Capsicum or OpenBSD
Pledge/Unveil.
In this current form, Landlock misses some access-control features.
This enables to minimize this patch series and ease review. This
series still addresses multiple use cases, especially with the
combined use of seccomp-bpf: applications with built-in sandboxing,
init systems, security sandbox tools and security-oriented APIs [2]"

Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski:
"Core:
- bpf:
- allow bpf programs calling kernel functions (initially to
reuse TCP congestion control implementations)
- enable task local storage for tracing programs - remove the
need to store per-task state in hash maps, and allow tracing
programs access to task local storage previously added for
BPF_LSM
- add bpf_for_each_map_elem() helper, allowing programs to walk
all map elements in a more robust and easier to verify fashion
- sockmap: support UDP and cross-protocol BPF_SK_SKB_VERDICT
redirection
- lpm: add support for batched ops in LPM trie
- add BTF_KIND_FLOAT support - mostly to allow use of BTF on
s390 which has floats in its headers files
- improve BPF syscall documentation and extend the use of kdoc
parsing scripts we already employ for bpf-helpers
- libbpf, bpftool: support static linking of BPF ELF files
- improve support for encapsulation of L2 packets
- xdp: restructure redirect actions to avoid a runtime lookup,
improving performance by 4-8% in microbenchmarks
- xsk: build skb by page (aka generic zerocopy xmit) - improve
performance of software AF_XDP path by 33% for devices which don't
need headers in the linear skb part (e.g. virtio)
- nexthop: resilient next-hop groups - improve path stability on
next-hops group changes (incl. offload for mlxsw)
- ipv6: segment routing: add support for IPv4 decapsulation
- icmp: add support for RFC 8335 extended PROBE messages
- inet: use bigger hash table for IP ID generation
- tcp: deal better with delayed TX completions - make sure we don't
give up on fast TCP retransmissions only because driver is slow in
reporting that it completed transmitting the original
- tcp: reorder tcp_congestion_ops for better cache locality
- mptcp:
- add sockopt support for common TCP options
- add support for common TCP msg flags
- include multiple address ids in RM_ADDR
- add reset option support for resetting one subflow
- udp: GRO L4 improvements - improve 'forward' / 'frag_list'
co-existence with UDP tunnel GRO, allowing the first to take place
correctly even for encapsulated UDP traffic
- micro-optimize dev_gro_receive() and flow dissection, avoid
retpoline overhead on VLAN and TEB GRO
- use less memory for sysctls, add a new sysctl type, to allow using
u8 instead of "int" and "long" and shrink networking sysctls
- veth: allow GRO without XDP - this allows aggregating UDP packets
before handing them off to routing, bridge, OvS, etc.
- allow specifing ifindex when device is moved to another namespace
- netfilter:
- nft_socket: add support for cgroupsv2
- nftables: add catch-all set element - special element used to
define a default action in case normal lookup missed
- use net_generic infra in many modules to avoid allocating
per-ns memory unnecessarily
- xps: improve the xps handling to avoid potential out-of-bound
accesses and use-after-free when XPS change race with other
re-configuration under traffic
- add a config knob to turn off per-cpu netdev refcnt to catch
underflows in testing
Device APIs:
- add WWAN subsystem to organize the WWAN interfaces better and
hopefully start driving towards more unified and vendor-
independent APIs
- ethtool:
- add interface for reading IEEE MIB stats (incl. mlx5 and bnxt
support)
- allow network drivers to dump arbitrary SFP EEPROM data,
current offset+length API was a poor fit for modern SFP which
define EEPROM in terms of pages (incl. mlx5 support)
- act_police, flow_offload: add support for packet-per-second
policing (incl. offload for nfp)
- psample: add additional metadata attributes like transit delay for
packets sampled from switch HW (and corresponding egress and
policy-based sampling in the mlxsw driver)
- dsa: improve support for sandwiched LAGs with bridge and DSA
- netfilter:
- flowtable: use direct xmit in topologies with IP forwarding,
bridging, vlans etc.
- nftables: counter hardware offload support
- Bluetooth:
- improvements for firmware download w/ Intel devices

Ethernet switch with 8x 1-Gigabit Ethernet and 3x 10-Gigabit
interfaces.
- dsa: support for legacy Broadcom tags used on BCM5325, BCM5365 and
BCM63xx switches
- Microchip KSZ8863 and KSZ8873; 3x 10/100Mbps Ethernet switches

Here is the big set of tty and serial driver updates for 5.13-rc1.
Actually busy this release, with a number of cleanups happening:
- much needed core tty cleanups by Jiri Slaby
- removal of unused and orphaned old-style serial drivers. If
anyone shows up with this hardware, it is trivial to restore
these but we really do not think they are in use anymore.
- fixes and cleanups from Johan Hovold on a number of termios
setting corner cases that loads of drivers got wrong as well
as removing unneeded code due to tty core changes from long
ago that were never propagated out to the drivers
- loads of platform-specific serial port driver updates and
fixes
- coding style cleanups and other small fixes and updates all
over the tty/serial tree.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while now with no reported
issues.

Here is the big set of staging and IIO driver updates for 5.13-rc1.
Lots of little churn in here, and some larger churn as well. Major
things are:
- removal of wimax drivers, no one has this hardware anymore for
this failed "experiment".
- removal of the Google gasket driver, turns out no one wanted
to maintain it or cares about it anymore, so they asked for it
to be removed.
- comedi finally moves out of the staging directory into
drivers/comedi/ This is one of the oldest kernel subsystems
around, being created in the 2.0 kernel days, and was one of
the first things added to drivers/staging/ when that was
created over 15 years ago. It should have been moved out of
staging a long time ago, it's well maintained and used by
loads of different devices in the real world every day. Nice
to see this finally happen.
- so many tiny coding style cleanups it's not funny. Perfect
storm of at least 2 different intern project application
deadlines combined to provide a huge number of new
contributions in this area from people learning how to do
kernel development. Great job to everyone involved here.
There's also the normal updates for IIO drivers with new IIO drivers and
updates all over that subsystem.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

Add a first document describing userspace API: how to define and enforce
a Landlock security policy. This is explained with a simple example.
The Landlock system calls are described with their expected behavior and
current limitations.
Another document is dedicated to kernel developers, describing guiding
principles and some important kernel structures.
This documentation can be built with the Sphinx framework.

The VIDIOC_G/S/TRY_EXT_CTRLS documentation has large explanatory texts for
some of the fields in a table. This makes it hard to read. Move those text
to a new cell spanning the whole width of the table, similar to what was
done for struct v4l2_pix_format. This makes it much more readable.
Also move the 'ctrl_class' description to below the 'which' description and
just mention that it is deprecated and that 'which' should be used instead.
Finally remove 'note::' for the V4L2_CTRL_WHICH_DEF_VAL description. It
doesn't have to be marked as a note, it's just a simple paragraph.

Until now, the VP8 V4L2 API was not exported as a public API,
and only defined in a private media header (media/vp8-ctrls.h).
The reason for this was a concern about the API not complete
and ready to support VP8 decoding hardware accelerators.
After reviewing the VP8 specification in detail, and now
that the API is able to support Cedrus and Hantro G1,
we can consider this ready.

The Microsoft Surface Book series devices consist of a so-called
clipboard part (containing the CPU, touchscreen, and primary battery)
and a base part (containing keyboard, secondary battery, and optional
discrete GPU). These parts can be separated, i.e. the clipboard can be
detached and used as tablet.
This detachment process is initiated by pressing a button. On the
Surface Book 2 and 3 (targeted with this commit), the Surface Aggregator
Module (i.e. the embedded controller on those devices) attempts to send
a notification to any listening client driver and waits for further
instructions (i.e. whether the detachment process should continue or be
aborted). If it does not receive a response in a certain time-frame, the
detachment process (by default) continues and the clipboard can be
physically separated. In other words, (by default and) without a driver,
the detachment process takes about 10 seconds to complete.
This commit introduces a driver for this detachment system (called DTX).
This driver allows a user-space daemon to control and influence the
detachment behavior. Specifically, it forwards any detachment requests
to user-space, allows user-space to make such requests itself, and
allows handling of those requests. Requests can be handled by either
aborting, continuing/allowing, or delaying (i.e. resetting the timeout
via a heartbeat commend). The user-space API is implemented via the
/dev/surface/dtx miscdevice.
In addition, user-space can change the default behavior on timeout from
allowing detachment to disallowing it, which is useful if the (optional)
discrete GPU is in use.
Furthermore, this driver allows user-space to receive notifications
about the state of the base, specifically when it is physically removed
(as opposed to detachment requested), in what manner it is connected
(i.e. in reverse-/tent-/studio- or laptop-mode), and what type of base
is connected. Based on this information, the driver also provides a
simple tablet-mode switch (aliasing all modes without keyboard access,
i.e. tablet-mode and studio-mode to its reported tablet-mode).
An implementation of such a user-space daemon, allowing configuration of
detachment behavior via scripts (e.g. safely unmounting USB devices
connected to the base before continuing) can be found at [1].

Sphinx/LaTeX doesn't work well with literal blocks.
Due to that, V4L2_BUF_FLAG_M2M_HOLD_CAPTURE_BUF ends
being writing outside the table (and even outside the page).
We need to not only change the table size and font size, but
also to change the message, in order to avoid this bug.
So, improve the text a little bit, while ensuring that the
literal will be written at the beginning of the second line.

Yet, they are using a very small font, and have tabularcolumns.

Instead of using "- 1", use "minus one".
The reason is that, if the table is split like:
V4L2_FWHT_FL_COMPONENTS_NUM_MSK 0x00070000 The number of color components
- 1.
One might not realize the meaning of the second line.
As a side effect, using text instead of arabic numbers is
more appropriate for formal documents like this spec.

bit 8 was missing for WSS 625 format.
While here, convert the literal block into a tables,
as it becomes more visible.
I opted to move the payload into a separate table, as
Sphinx has troubles with complex nested tables.
This way, it should work fine on both html and LaTeX/PDF
formats.

Those tables have small cells that fit nicely without requiring
line beaks.
So, they don't need tabular columns, as Sphinx/LaTeX

Here is the large set of char/misc/whatever driver subsystem updates for
5.12-rc1. Over time it seems like this tree is collecting more and more
tiny driver subsystems in one place, making it easier for those
maintainers, which is why this is getting larger.
Included in here are:
- coresight driver updates
- habannalabs driver updates
- virtual acrn driver addition (proper acks from the x86
maintainers)
- broadcom misc driver addition
- speakup driver updates
- soundwire driver updates
- fpga driver updates
- amba driver updates
- mei driver updates
- vfio driver updates
- greybus driver updates
- nvmeem driver updates
- phy driver updates
- mhi driver updates
- interconnect driver udpates
- fsl-mc bus driver updates
- random driver fix
- some small misc driver updates (rtsx, pvpanic, etc.)
All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with the only reported
issue being a merge conflict in include/linux/mod_devicetable.h that you
will hit in your tree due to the dfl_device_id addition from the fpga
subsystem in here. The resolution should be simple.

Introduce an initial driver for CXL 2.0 Type-3 Memory Devices. CXL is
Compute Express Link which released the 2.0 specification in November.
The Linux relevant changes in CXL 2.0 are support for an OS to
dynamically assign address space to memory devices, support for
switches, persistent memory, and hotplug. A Type-3 Memory Device is a
PCI enumerated device presenting the CXL Memory Device Class Code and
implementing the CXL.mem protocol. CXL.mem allows device to advertise
CPU and I/O coherent memory to the system, i.e. typical "System RAM" and
"Persistent Memory" in Linux /proc/iomem terms.
In addition to the CXL.mem fast path there is an administrative command
hardware mailbox interface for maintenance and provisioning. It is this
command interface that is the focus of the initial driver. With this
driver a CXL device that is mapped by the BIOS can be administered by
Linux. Linux support for CXL PMEM and dynamic CXL address space
management are to be implemented post v5.12.

"This series consists of the usual driver updates (ufs, ibmvfc,
qla2xxx, hisi_sas, pm80xx) plus the removal of the gdth driver (which
is bound to cause conflicts with a trivial change somewhere).
The only big major rework of note is the one from Hannes trying to
clean up our result handling code in the drivers to make it

Add a straightforward IOCTL that provides a mechanism for userspace to
query the supported memory device commands. CXL commands as they appear
to userspace are described as part of the UAPI kerneldoc. The command
list returned via this IOCTL will contain the full set of commands that
the driver supports, however, some of those commands may not be
available for use by userspace.
Memory device commands first appear in the CXL 2.0 specification. They
are submitted through a mailbox mechanism specified in the CXL 2.0
specification.
The send command allows userspace to issue mailbox commands directly to
the hardware. The list of available commands to send are the output of
the query command. The driver verifies basic properties of the command
and possibly inspect the input (or output) payload to determine whether
or not the command is allowed (or might taint the kernel).

The VM management interfaces expose several VM operations to ACRN
userspace via ioctls. For example, creating VM, starting VM, destroying
VM and so on.
The ACRN Hypervisor needs to exchange data with the ACRN userspace
during the VM operations. HSM provides VM operation ioctls to the ACRN
userspace and communicates with the ACRN Hypervisor for VM operations
via hypercalls.
HSM maintains a list of User VM. Each User VM will be bound to an
existing file descriptor of /dev/acrn_hsm. The User VM will be
destroyed when the file descriptor is closed.

Adding userspace support for the MC (Management Complex) means exporting
an ioctl capable device file representing the root resource container.
This new functionality in the fsl-mc bus driver intends to provide
userspace applications an interface to interact with the MC firmware.
Commands that are composed in userspace are sent to the MC firmware
through the FSL_MC_SEND_MC_COMMAND ioctl. By default the implicit MC
I/O portal is used for this operation, but if the implicit one is busy,
a dynamic portal is allocated and then freed upon execution.
The command received through the ioctl interface is checked against a
known whitelist of accepted MC commands. Commands that attempt a change
in hardware configuration will need CAP_NET_ADMIN, while commands used
in debugging do not need it.

The gdth driver refers to a SCSI parallel, PCI-only HBA RAID adapter which
was manufactured by the now-defunct ICP Vortex company, later acquired by
Adaptec and superseded by the aacraid series of controllers. The driver
itself would require a major overhaul before any modifications can be
attempted, but seeing that it's unlikely to have any users left it should
rather be removed completely.

Add a misc-device providing user-space access to the Surface Aggregator
EC, mainly intended for debugging, testing, and reverse-engineering.
This interface gives user-space applications the ability to send
requests to the EC and receive the corresponding responses.
The device-file is managed by a pseudo platform-device and corresponding
driver to avoid dependence on the dedicated bus, allowing it to be
loaded in a minimal configuration.
A python library and scripts to access this device can be found at [1].

On modern systems the platform performance, temperature, fan and other
hardware related characteristics are often dynamically configurable. The
profile is often automatically adjusted to the load by some
automatic-mechanism (which may very well live outside the kernel).
These auto platform-adjustment mechanisms often can be configured with
one of several 'platform-profiles', with either a bias towards low-power
consumption or towards performance (and higher power consumption and
thermals).
Introduce a new platform_profile sysfs API which offers a generic API for
selecting the performance-profile of these automatic-mechanisms.

applications to populate protected regions of user code and data called
enclaves. Once activated, the new hardware protects enclave code and
data from outside access and modification.
Enclaves provide a place to store secrets and process data with those
secrets. SGX has been used, for example, to decrypt video without
exposing the decryption keys to nosy debuggers that might be used to
subvert DRM. Software has generally been rewritten specifically to
run in enclaves, but there are also projects that try to run limited
unmodified software in enclaves."
Most of the functionality is concentrated into arch/x86/kernel/cpu/sgx/
except the addition of a new mprotect() hook to control enclave page
permissions and support for vDSO exceptions fixup which will is used by
SGX enclaves.
All this work by Sean Christopherson, Jarkko Sakkinen and many others.

making, we were one revision number short of 42. :)
Intel SGX is new hardware functionality that can be used by
applications to populate protected regions of user code and data
called enclaves. Once activated, the new hardware protects enclave
code and data from outside access and modification.
Enclaves provide a place to store secrets and process data with those
secrets. SGX has been used, for example, to decrypt video without
exposing the decryption keys to nosy debuggers that might be used to
subvert DRM. Software has generally been rewritten specifically to run
in enclaves, but there are also projects that try to run limited
unmodified software in enclaves.
Most of the functionality is concentrated into arch/x86/kernel/cpu/sgx/
except the addition of a new mprotect() hook to control enclave page
permissions and support for vDSO exceptions fixup which will is used
by SGX enclaves.
All this work by Sean Christopherson, Jarkko Sakkinen and many others"

The 4:4:4 packed YUV formats are documented with a bit-level
representation, which creates a wide table. Switch to a byte-oriented
representation to make it more compact. This prepares for the addition
of formats with more than 8 bits per component, that would make the
table way too wide.

The pixfmt-packed-yuv.rst file documents packed YUV 4:4:4 formats, but
is titled generically as "Packed YUV formats". 4:2:2 and 4:1:1 packed
YUV formats are documented in separate files, which can be confusing.
Group all packed YUV formats in pixfmt-packed-yuv.rst, which allows
documenting the 4:2:2 formats in a more concise way.

The naming scheme for the RGB pixel formats has been developed
organically, and isn't consistent between formats using less than 8 bits
per pixels (mostly stored in 1 or 2 bytes per pixel, except for RGB666
that uses 4 bytes per pixel) and formats with 8 bits per pixel (stored
in 3 or 4 bytes). For the latter category, the names use a components
order convention that is the opposite of the first category, and the
opposite of DRM pixel formats. This has led to lots of confusion in the
past, and would really benefit from being explained more precisely. Do
so, which also prepares for the addition of additional RGB pixels
formats.

The description of the V4L2_COLORSPACE_470_SYSTEM_BG stated that it was
superseded by SMPTE 170M. That is incorrect. The probably root cause of
this is that the HDMI standard does not support this colorspace and,
unless otherwise signaled, will fall back to SMPTE 170M for SDTV.
However, EBU Tech. 3321 states that sources should signal Rec. 709 as the
colorimetry when using HDMI since the difference between Rec. 709 and
Tech. 3213 are negligible.

Pull documentation updates from Mauro Carvalho Chehab:
"A series of patches addressing warnings produced by make htmldocs.
This includes:
- kernel-doc markup fixes
- ReST fixes
- Updates at the build system in order to support newer versions of
the docs build toolchain (Sphinx)
After this series, the number of html build warnings should reduce
significantly, and building with Sphinx 3.1 or later should now be
supported (although it is still recommended to use Sphinx 2.4.4).
As agreed with Jon, I should be sending you a late pull request by the
end of the merge window addressing remaining issues with docs build,
as there are a number of warning fixes that depends on pull requests
that should be happening along the merge window.
The end goal is to have a clean htmldocs build on Kernel 5.10.
PS. It should be noticed that Sphinx 3.0 is not currently supported,
as it lacks support for C domain namespaces. Such feature, needed in
order to document uAPI system calls with Sphinx 3.x, was added only on
Sphinx 3.1"

"Not a major amount of change, the i915 trees got split into display
and gt trees to better facilitate higher level review, and there's a
major refactoring of i915 GEM locking to use more core kernel concepts
(like ww-mutexes). msm gets per-process pagetables, older AMD SI cards
get DC support, nouveau got a bump in displayport support with common
code extraction from i915.
Outside of drm this contains a couple of patches for hexint
moduleparams which you've acked, and a virtio common code tree that
you should also get via it's regular path.

IOMMU UAPI is newly introduced to support communications between guest
virtual IOMMU and host IOMMU. There has been lots of discussions on how
it should work with VFIO UAPI and userspace in general.
This document is intended to clarify the UAPI design and usage. The
mechanics of how future extensions should be achieved are also covered
in this documentation.

Using struct|enum :c:`type` here sounds a bad idea, as it may be
documenting data types that were already removed. Also, it makes
the file harder to read.
As automarkup.py should be able to handle those cases, let's
just get rid of the markup.
While not required by automarkup, in order to make easier for
grep, both type and names are now at the same line.

There are several places there where struct was used twice,
on multiple lines, like:
struct
struct ``v4l2_zoomcap``
That's probably done during the DocBook to ReSt conversion.
Probably the cases where "struct struct" were at the same line
was addressed back then, but the multi-line cases are still
there.
Get rid of them.

This patch extends the CSC API in video devices to be supported
also on sub-devices. The flag V4L2_MBUS_FRAMEFMT_SET_CSC set by
the application when calling VIDIOC_SUBDEV_S_FMT ioctl.
The flags:
V4L2_SUBDEV_MBUS_CODE_CSC_COLORSPACE,
V4L2_SUBDEV_MBUS_CODE_CSC_XFER_FUNC,
V4L2_SUBDEV_MBUS_CODE_CSC_YCBCR_ENC/V4L2_SUBDEV_MBUS_CODE_CSC_HSV_ENC
V4L2_SUBDEV_MBUS_CODE_CSC_QUANTIZATION
are set by the driver in the VIDIOC_SUBDEV_ENUM_MBUS_CODE ioctl.
New 'flags' fields were added to the structs
v4l2_subdev_mbus_code_enum, v4l2_mbus_framefmt which are borrowed
from the 'reserved' field
The patch also replaces the 'ycbcr_enc' field in
'struct v4l2_mbus_framefmt' with a union that includes 'hsv_enc'

For video capture it is the driver that reports the colorspace,
transfer function, Y'CbCr/HSV encoding and quantization range
used by the video, and there is no way to request something
different, even though many HDTV receivers have some sort of
colorspace conversion capabilities.
For output video this feature already exists since the application
specifies this information for the video format it will send out, and
the transmitter will enable any available CSC if a format conversion has
to be performed in order to match the capabilities of the sink.
For video capture we propose adding new v4l2_pix_format flag:
V4L2_PIX_FMT_FLAG_SET_CSC. The flag is set by the application,
the driver will interpret the colorspace, xfer_func, ycbcr_enc/hsv_enc
and quantization fields as the requested colorspace information and will
attempt to do the conversion it supports.
Drivers set the flags
V4L2_FMT_FLAG_CSC_COLORSPACE,
V4L2_FMT_FLAG_CSC_XFER_FUNC,
V4L2_FMT_FLAG_CSC_YCBCR_ENC/V4L2_FMT_FLAG_CSC_HSV_ENC,
V4L2_FMT_FLAG_CSC_QUANTIZATION,
in the flags field of the struct v4l2_fmtdesc during enumeration to
indicate that they support colorspace conversion for the respective field.
Drivers do not have to actually look at the flags. If the flags are not
set, then the fields 'colorspace', 'xfer_func', 'ycbcr_enc/hsv_enc',
and 'quantization' are set to the default values by the core, i.e. just
pass on the received format without conversion.

The Nitro Enclaves driver handles the enclave lifetime management. This
includes enclave creation, termination and setting up its resources such
as memory and CPU.
An enclave runs alongside the VM that spawned it. It is abstracted as a
process running in the VM that launched it. The process interacts with
the NE driver, that exposes an ioctl interface for creating an enclave
and setting up its resources.
Changelog
v9 -> v10
* Update commit message to include the changelog before the SoB tag(s).
v8 -> v9
* No changes.
v7 -> v8
* Add NE custom error codes for user space memory regions not backed by
pages multiple of 2 MiB, invalid flags and enclave CID.
* Add max flag value for enclave image load info.
v6 -> v7
* Clarify in the ioctls documentation that the return value is -1 and
errno is set on failure.
* Update the error code value for NE_ERR_INVALID_MEM_REGION_SIZE as it
gets in user space as value 25 (ENOTTY) instead of 515. Update the

The patch partially reverts some of the UAPI bits of the buffer
cache management hints. Namely, the queue consistency (memory
coherency) user-space hint because, as it turned out, the kernel
implementation of this feature was misusing DMA_ATTR_NON_CONSISTENT.
The patch reverts both kernel and user space parts: removes the
DMA consistency attr functions, rolls back changes to v4l2_requestbuffers,
v4l2_create_buffers structures and corresponding UAPI functions
(plus compat32 layer) and cleans up the documentation.

Applications are expected to fill V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_H264_SCALING_MATRIX
if a non-flat scaling matrix applies to the picture. This is the case if
SPS scaling_matrix_present_flag or PPS pic_scaling_matrix_present_flag
are set, and should be handled by applications.
On one hand, the PPS bitstream syntax element signals the presence of a
Picture scaling matrix modifying the Sequence (SPS) scaling matrix.
On the other hand, our flag should indicate if the scaling matrix
V4L2 control is applicable to this request.
Rename the flag from PPS_FLAG_PIC_SCALING_MATRIX_PRESENT to
PPS_FLAG_SCALING_MATRIX_PRESENT, to avoid mixing this flag with
bitstream syntax element pic_scaling_matrix_present_flag,

The H.264 specification requires in section 7.4.3 "Slice header semantics",
that the following values shall be the same in all slice headers:
pic_parameter_set_id
frame_num
field_pic_flag
bottom_field_flag
idr_pic_id
pic_order_cnt_lsb
delta_pic_order_cnt_bottom
delta_pic_order_cnt[ 0 ]
delta_pic_order_cnt[ 1 ]
sp_for_switch_flag
slice_group_change_cycle
These bitstream fields are part of the slice header, and therefore
passed redundantly on each slice. The purpose of the redundancy
is to make the codec fault-tolerant in network scenarios.
This is of course not needed to be reflected in the V4L2 controls,
given the bitstream has already been parsed by applications.
Therefore, move the redundant fields to the per-frame decode
parameters control (DECODE_PARAMS).
Field 'pic_parameter_set_id' is simply removed in this case,
because the PPS control must currently contain the active PPS.
Syntax elements dec_ref_pic_marking() and those related
to pic order count, remain invariant as well, and therefore,
the fields dec_ref_pic_marking_bit_size and pic_order_cnt_bit_size
are also common to all slices.

Currently, the SLICE_BASED and FRAME_BASED modes documentation
is misleading and not matching the intended use-cases.
Drop non-required fields SLICE_PARAMS 'start_byte_offset' and
DECODE_PARAMS 'num_slices' and clarify the decoding modes in the
documentation.
On SLICE_BASED mode, a single slice is expected per OUTPUT buffer,
and therefore 'start_byte_offset' is not needed (since the offset
to the slice is the start of the buffer).
This mode requires the use of CAPTURE buffer holding, and so
the number of slices shall not be required.
On FRAME_BASED mode, the devices are expected to take care of slice
parsing. Neither SLICE_PARAMS are required (and shouldn't be
exposed by frame-based drivers), nor the number of slices.

DPB entry PicNum maximum value is 2*MaxFrameNum for interlaced

As specified, MaxFrameNum is 2^(log2_max_frame_num_minus4 + 4)

Slice header syntax element 'first_mb_in_slice' can point
to the last macroblock, currently the field can only reference
65536 macroblocks which is insufficient for 8K videos.
Although unlikely, a 8192x4320 video (where macroblocks are 16x16),
would contain 138240 macroblocks on a frame.
As per the H264 specification, 'first_mb_in_slice' can be up to

The prediction weight parameters are only required under

weight table is present if:
((weighted_pred_flag && (slice_type == P || slice_type == SP)) || \

Given its size, it makes sense to move this table to its control,
