Alex Deucher bfaddd9fc8 Revert "drm/radeon: disable runtime pm on PX laptops without dGPU power control"
This reverts commit e64c952efb.

ATPX is the ACPI method for controlling AMD PowerXpress laptops.
There are flags to indicate which methods are supported. If
the dGPU power down flag is not supported, the driver needs to
implement the dGPU power down manually. We had previously
always forced the driver to assume the ATPX dGPU power down
was present, but this causes problems on boards where it is
not, leading to GPU hangs when attempting to power down the
dGPU. Manual dGPU power down is not currently supported in
the Linux driver. Some laptops indicate that the ATPX
dGPU power down method is not present, but it actually
apparently is. I'm not sure if this is a bios bug and it should
be set or if there is a reason it was unset and the method should
not be used. This is not an issue on other OSes since both the
ATPX and the manual driver power down methods are supported.

This is apparently fairly widespread, so just revert for now.

Linus Torvalds 4a2d057e4f Merge branch 'PAGE_CACHE_SIZE-removal'
Merge PAGE_CACHE_SIZE removal patches from Kirill Shutemov:
"PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time
ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page
cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE.

This promise never materialized. And unlikely will.

Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are
  not.

The first patch with most changes has been done with coccinelle. The
second is manual fixups on top.

The third patch removes macros definition"

[ I was planning to apply this just before rc2, but then I spaced out,
so here it is right _after_ rc2 instead.

As Kirill suggested as a possibility, I could have decided to only
merge the first two patches, and leave the old interfaces for
compatibility, but I'd rather get it all done and any out-of-tree
modules and patches can trivially do the converstion while still also
working with older kernels, so there is little reason to try to
maintain the redundant legacy model. - Linus ]

* PAGE_CACHE_SIZE-removal:
mm: drop PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} definition
mm, fs: remove remaining PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} usage
mm, fs: get rid of PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} macros

Kirill A. Shutemov 09cbfeaf1a mm, fs: get rid of PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} macros
PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time
ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page
cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE.

This promise never materialized. And unlikely will.

We have many places where PAGE_CACHE_SIZE assumed to be equal to
PAGE_SIZE. And it's constant source of confusion on whether
PAGE_CACHE_* or PAGE_* constant should be used in a particular case,
especially on the border between fs and mm.

Global switching to PAGE_CACHE_SIZE != PAGE_SIZE would cause to much
breakage to be doable.

Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are
not.

The changes are pretty straight-forward:

 - <foo> << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>;

 - <foo> >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>;

 - PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} -> PAGE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN};

 - page_cache_get() -> get_page();

 - page_cache_release() -> put_page();

This patch contains automated changes generated with coccinelle using
script below. For some reason, coccinelle doesn't patch header files.
I've called spatch for them manually.

The only adjustment after coccinelle is revert of changes to
PAGE_CAHCE_ALIGN definition: we are going to drop it later.

There are few places in the code where coccinelle didn't reach. I'll
fix them manually in a separate patch. Comments and documentation also
will be addressed with the separate patch.

Linus Torvalds 643ad15d47 Merge branch 'mm-pkeys-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip
Pull x86 protection key support from Ingo Molnar:
"This tree adds support for a new memory protection hardware feature
that is available in upcoming Intel CPUs: 'protection keys' (pkeys).

  There's a background article at LWN.net:

      https://lwn.net/Articles/643797/

The gist is that protection keys allow the encoding of
user-controllable permission masks in the pte. So instead of having a
fixed protection mask in the pte (which needs a system call to change
and works on a per page basis), the user can map a (handful of)
protection mask variants and can change the masks runtime relatively
cheaply, without having to change every single page in the affected
  virtual memory range.

This allows the dynamic switching of the protection bits of large
amounts of virtual memory, via user-space instructions. It also
allows more precise control of MMU permission bits: for example the
executable bit is separate from the read bit (see more about that
  below).

This tree adds the MM infrastructure and low level x86 glue needed for
that, plus it adds a high level API to make use of protection keys -
  if a user-space application calls:

        mmap(..., PROT_EXEC);

  or

        mprotect(ptr, sz, PROT_EXEC);

(note PROT_EXEC-only, without PROT_READ/WRITE), the kernel will notice
this special case, and will set a special protection key on this
memory range. It also sets the appropriate bits in the Protection
Keys User Rights (PKRU) register so that the memory becomes unreadable
  and unwritable.

So using protection keys the kernel is able to implement 'true'
PROT_EXEC on x86 CPUs: without protection keys PROT_EXEC implies
PROT_READ as well. Unreadable executable mappings have security
advantages: they cannot be read via information leaks to figure out
ASLR details, nor can they be scanned for ROP gadgets - and they
cannot be used by exploits for data purposes either.

We know about no user-space code that relies on pure PROT_EXEC
mappings today, but binary loaders could start making use of this new
feature to map binaries and libraries in a more secure fashion.

There is other pending pkeys work that offers more high level system
call APIs to manage protection keys - but those are not part of this
  pull request.

Right now there's a Kconfig that controls this feature
  (CONFIG_X86_INTEL_MEMORY_PROTECTION_KEYS) that is default enabled
(like most x86 CPU feature enablement code that has no runtime
overhead), but it's not user-configurable at the moment. If there's
any serious problem with this then we can make it configurable and/or
  flip the default"

Jérome Glisse 3cf8bb1ad1 drm/radeon: fix indentation.
I hate doing this but it hurts my eyes to go over code that does not
comply with indentation rules. Only thing that is not only space change
is in atom.c all other files are space indentation issues.

Mario Kleiner 459ee1c3fd drm/radeon: Don't drop DP 2.7 Ghz link setup on some cards.
As observed on Apple iMac10,1, DCE-3.2, RV-730,
link rate of 2.7 Ghz is not selected, because
the args.v1.ucConfig flag setting for 2.7 Ghz
gets overwritten by a following assignment of
the transmitter to use.

Move link rate setup a few lines down to fix this.
In practice this didn't have any positive or
negative effect on display setup on the tested
iMac10,1 so i don't know if backporting to stable
makes sense or not.

Daniel Vetter 777e3cbc79 drm/radeon: Switch to drm_vblank_on/off
These should be functionally equivalent to the older per/post modeset
functions, except that they block out drm_vblank_get right away.
There's only the clock adjusting code (outside of pageflips) in
readone which uses drm_vblank_get. But that code doesn't synchronize
against concurrent modesets and instead handles any such races by
waiting for the right vblank to arrive with a short timetout.

The longer-term plan here is to switch all kms drivers to
drm_vblank_on/off so that common code like pending event cleanup can
be done there, while drm_vblank_pre/post_modeset will be purely
drm internal for the old UMS ioctl.

Note that with this patch Michel uncovered a bug in the dri3
implementation of the DDX (it does vblank waits when the pipe is off),
which had to be fixed first.

Linus Torvalds 256faedcfd Revert "drm/radeon: call hpd_irq_event on resume"
This reverts commit dbb17a21c1.

It turns out that commit can cause problems for systems with multiple
GPUs, and causes X to hang on at least a HP Pavilion dv7 with hybrid
graphics.

This got noticed originally in 4.4.4, where this patch had already
gotten back-ported, but 4.5-rc7 was verified to have the same problem.

Alexander Deucher says:
"It looks like you have a muxed system so I suspect what's happening is
that one of the display is being reported as connected for both the
IGP and the dGPU and then the desktop environment gets confused or
there some sort problem in the detect functions since the mux is not

Mario Kleiner 1e1490a385 drm/radeon: Fix error handling in radeon_flip_work_func.
This is a port of the patch "drm/amdgpu: Fix error handling in amdgpu_flip_work_func."
to fix the following problem for radeon as well which was
reported against amdgpu:

The patch e1d09dc0ccc6: "drm/amdgpu: Don't hang in
amdgpu_flip_work_func on disabled crtc." from Feb 19, 2016, leads to
the following static checker warning, as reported by Dan Carpenter in
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2016-February/101987.html

drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_display.c:127 amdgpu_flip_work_func()     warn: should this be 'repcnt == -1'
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_display.c:136 amdgpu_flip_work_func() error: double unlock 'spin_lock:&crtc->dev->event_lock'
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_display.c:136 amdgpu_flip_work_func() error: double unlock 'irqsave:flags'

This patch fixes both reported problems:

Change post-decrement of repcnt to pre-decrement, so
it can't underflow anymore, but still performs up to
three repetitions - three is the maximum one could
expect in practice.

Move the spin_unlock_irqrestore to where it actually
belongs.

Oded Gabbay 412c8f7de0 drm/radeon: Return -EPROBE_DEFER when amdkfd not loaded
radeon must load only after amdkfd's loading has been completed. If that
is not enforced, then radeon's call into amdkfd's functions will cause a
kernel BUG.

When radeon and amdkfd are built as kernel modules, that rule is
enforced by the kernel's modules loading mechanism. When radeon and
amdkfd are built inside the kernel image, that rule is enforced by
ordering in the drm Makefile (amdkfd before radeon).

Instead of using drm Makefile ordering, we can now use deferred
loading as amdkfd now returns -EPROBE_DEFER in kgd2kfd_init() when it is
not yet loaded.

This patch defers radeon loading by propagating -EPROBE_DEFER to the
kernel's drivers loading infrastructure. That will put radeon into the
pending drivers list (see description in dd.c). Once amdkfd is loaded,
a call to kgd2kfd_init() will return successfully and radeon will be
able to load.

Oded Gabbay c68f4528a2 drm/amdkfd: Track when module's init is complete
Current dependencies between amdkfd and radeon/amdgpu force the loading
of amdkfd _before_ radeon and/or amdgpu are loaded. When all these kernel
drivers are built as modules, this ordering is enforced by the kernel
built-in mechanism of loading dependent modules.

However, there is no such mechanism in case where all these drivers are
compiled inside the kernel image (not as modules). The current way to
enforce loading of amdkfd before radeon/amdgpu, is to put amdkfd before
radeon/amdgpu in the drm Makefile, but that method is way too fragile.

In addition, there is no kernel mechanism to check whether a kernel
driver that is built inside the kernel image, has already been loaded.

To solve this, this patch adds to kfd_module.c a new static variable,
amdkfd_init_completed, that is set to 1 only when amdkfd's
module initialization function has been completed (successfully).

kgd2kfd_init(), which is the initialization function of the
kgd-->kfd interface, and which is the first function in amdkfd called by
radeon/amdgpu, will return successfully only if amdkfd_init_completed is
equal 1.

If amdkfd_init_completed is not equal to 1, kgd2kfd_init() will
return -EPROBE_DEFER to signal radeon/amdgpu they need to defer
their loading until amdkfd is loaded.

Mario Kleiner 2b8341b3f9 drm/radeon: Don't hang in radeon_flip_work_func on disabled crtc. (v2)
This fixes a regression introduced in Linux 4.4.

Limit the amount of time radeon_flip_work_func can
delay programming a page flip, by both limiting the
maximum amount of time per wait cycle and the maximum
number of wait cycles. Continue the flip if the limit
is exceeded, even if that may result in a visual or
timing glitch.

This is to prevent a hang of page flips, as reported
in fdo bug #93746: Disconnecting a DisplayPort display
in parallel to a kms pageflip getting queued can cause
the following hang of page flips and thereby an unusable
desktop:

1. kms pageflip ioctl() queues pageflip -> queues execution
   of radeon_flip_work_func.

2. Hotunplug of display causes the driver to DPMS OFF
the unplugged display. Display engine shuts down,
scanout no longer moves, but stays at its resting
position at start line of vblank.

3. radeon_flip_work_func executes while crtc is off, and
due to the non-moving scanout position, the new flip
delay code introduced into Linux 4.4 by
   commit 5b5561b366 ("drm/radeon: Fixup hw vblank counter/ts..")
   enters an infinite wait loop.

4. After reconnecting the display, the pageflip continues
to hang in 3. and the display doesn't update its view
   of the desktop.

This patch fixes the Linux 4.4 regression from fdo bug #93746

Matthew Dawson 04db4caf5c drm/radeon: Avoid double gpu reset by adding a timeout on IB ring tests.
When the radeon driver resets a gpu, it attempts to test whether all the
rings can successfully handle an IB. If these rings fail to respond, the
process will wait forever. Another gpu reset can't happen at this point,
as the current reset holds a lock required to do so. Instead, make all
the IB tests run with a timeout, so the system can attempt to recover
in this case.

While this doesn't fix the underlying issue with card resets failing, it
gives the system a higher chance of recovering. These timeouts have been
confirmed to help both a Tathi and Hawaii card recover after a gpu reset.

This also adds a new function, radeon_fence_wait_timeout, that behaves like
fence_wait_timeout. It is used instead of fence_wait_timeout as it continues
to work during a reset. radeon_fence_wait is changed to be implemented
using this function.

V2:

Lukas Wunner 47eb8f739e drm/radeon: Switch DDC when reading the EDID
The pre-retina MacBook Pro uses an LVDS panel and a gmux controller
to switch the panel between its two GPUs. The panel mode in VBIOS
is notoriously bogus on these machines.

Use drm_get_edid_switcheroo() in lieu of drm_get_edid() on LVDS
if the vga_switcheroo handler is capable of temporarily switching
the panel's DDC lines to the discrete GPU. This allows us to retrieve
the EDID if the panel is currently muxed to the integrated GPU.

This only enables EDID probing on the pre-retina MBP (2008 - 2013).
The retina MBP (2012 - present) uses eDP and gmux is not capable of
switching AUX separately from the main link on these models.

Allow handlers to declare their capabilities and allow clients to
obtain that information. So far we have these use cases:

* If the handler is able to switch DDC separately, clients need to
probe EDID with drm_get_edid_switcheroo(). We should allow them
to detect a capable handler to ensure this function only gets
  called when needed.

* Likewise if the handler is unable to switch AUX separately, the active
client needs to communicate link training parameters to the inactive
client, which may then skip the AUX handshake and set up its output
with these pre-calibrated values (DisplayPort specification v1.1a,
section 2.5.3.3). Clients need a way to recognize such a situation.

The flags for the radeon_atpx_handler and amdgpu_atpx_handler are
initially set to 0, this can later on be amended with
  handler_flags |= VGA_SWITCHEROO_CAN_SWITCH_DDC;

Bjorn Helgaas 952bbcb078 PCI: Remove includes of asm/pci-bridge.h
Drivers should include asm/pci-bridge.h only when they need the arch-

drivers that actually need things provided by asm/pci-bridge.h are the

Thierry Reding 4e926d2db5 drm/radeon: Update radeon_get_vblank_counter_kms()
Commit 88e72717c2 ("drm/irq: Use unsigned int pipe in public API")
updated the prototype of this function but not the implementation. This
wasn't noticed even through compile tests because the prototype is part
of the source file that uses it and hence the compiler won't know the
prototype when it compiles the implementation.

The right thing would've been to move the prototype to a header that's
included in radeon_kms.c so that the implementation signature could be
checked against it, but the closest thing would've been radeon_drv.h
and including that results in a lot of build errors, so we'll leave it
as is for now.

Mario Kleiner c55d21ea5b drm/radeon: Fixup hw vblank counter/ts for new drm_update_vblank_count() (v2)
commit 4dfd6486 "drm: Use vblank timestamps to guesstimate how many
vblanks were missed" introduced in Linux 4.4-rc1 makes the drm core
more fragile to drivers which don't update hw vblank counters and
vblank timestamps in sync with firing of the vblank irq and
essentially at leading edge of vblank.

This exposed a problem with radeon-kms/amdgpu-kms which do not
satisfy above requirements:

The vblank irq fires a few scanlines before start of vblank, but
programmed pageflips complete at start of vblank and
vblank timestamps update at start of vblank, whereas the
hw vblank counter increments only later, at start of vsync.

This leads to problems like off by one errors for vblank counter
updates, vblank counters apparently going backwards or vblank
timestamps apparently having time going backwards. The net result
is stuttering of graphics in games, or little hangs, as well as
total failure of timing sensitive applications.

See bug #93147 for an example of the regression on Linux 4.4-rc:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93147

This patch tries to align all above events better from the
viewpoint of the drm core / of external callers to fix the problem:

1. The apparent start of vblank is shifted a few scanlines earlier,
so the vblank irq now always happens after start of this extended
vblank interval and thereby drm_update_vblank_count() always samples
the updated vblank count and timestamp of the new vblank interval.

To achieve this, the reporting of scanout positions by
radeon_get_crtc_scanoutpos() now operates as if the vblank starts
radeon_crtc->lb_vblank_lead_lines before the real start of the hw
vblank interval. This means that the vblank timestamps which are based
on these scanout positions will now update at this earlier start of
vblank.

2. The driver->get_vblank_counter() function will bump the returned
vblank count as read from the hw by +1 if the query happens after
the shifted earlier start of the vblank, but before the real hw increment
at start of vsync, so the counter appears to increment at start of vblank
in sync with the timestamp update.

3. Calls from vblank irq-context and regular non-irq calls are now
treated identical, always simulating the shifted vblank start, to
avoid inconsistent results for queries happening from vblank irq vs.
happening from drm_vblank_enable() or vblank_disable_fn().

4. The radeon_flip_work_func will delay mmio programming a pageflip until
the start of the real vblank iff it happens to execute inside the shifted
earlier start of the vblank, so pageflips now also appear to execute at
start of the shifted vblank, in sync with vblank counter and timestamp
updates. This to avoid some races between updates of vblank count and
timestamps that are used for swap scheduling and pageflip execution which
could cause pageflips to execute before the scheduled target vblank.

The lb_vblank_lead_lines "fudge" value is calculated as the size of
the display controllers line buffer in scanlines for the given video
mode: Vblank irq's are triggered by the line buffer logic when the line
buffer refill for a video frame ends, ie. when the line buffer source read
position enters the hw vblank. This means that a vblank irq could fire at
most as many scanlines before the current reported scanout position of the
crtc timing generator as the number of scanlines the line buffer can
maximally hold for a given video mode.

This patch has been successfully tested on a RV730 card with DCE-3 display
engine and on a evergreen card with DCE-4 display engine, in single-display
and dual-display configuration, with different video modes.

A similar patch is needed for amdgpu-kms to fix the same problem.

Limitations:

- Line buffer sizes in pixels are hard-coded on < DCE-4 to a value
i just guessed to be high enough to work ok, lacking info on the true
  sizes atm.

(v2) Refine radeon_flip_work_func() for better efficiency:

In radeon_flip_work_func, replace the busy waiting udelay(5)
with event lock held by a more performance and energy efficient
usleep_range() until at least predicted true start of hw vblank,
with some slack for scheduler happiness. Release the event lock
during waits to not delay other outputs in doing their stuff, as
the waiting can last up to 200 usecs in some cases.

Retested on DCE-3 and DCE-4 to verify it still works nicely.

Mario Kleiner 5b5561b366 drm/radeon: Fixup hw vblank counter/ts for new drm_update_vblank_count() (v2)
commit 4dfd6486 "drm: Use vblank timestamps to guesstimate how many
vblanks were missed" introduced in Linux 4.4-rc1 makes the drm core
more fragile to drivers which don't update hw vblank counters and
vblank timestamps in sync with firing of the vblank irq and
essentially at leading edge of vblank.

3. Calls from vblank irq-context and regular non-irq calls are now
treated identical, always simulating the shifted vblank start, to
avoid inconsistent results for queries happening from vblank irq vs.
happening from drm_vblank_enable() or vblank_disable_fn().

Lyude cb5d416643 drm/radeon: Retry DDC probing on DVI on failure if we got an HPD interrupt
HPD signals on DVI ports can be fired off before the pins required for
DDC probing actually make contact, due to the pins for HPD making
contact first. This results in a HPD signal being asserted but DDC
probing failing, resulting in hotplugging occasionally failing.

This is somewhat rare on most cards (depending on what angle you plug
the DVI connector in), but on some cards it happens constantly. The
Radeon R5 on the machine used for testing this patch for instance, runs
into this issue just about every time I try to hotplug a DVI monitor and
as a result hotplugging almost never works.

Rescheduling the hotplug work for a second when we run into an HPD
signal with a failing DDC probe usually gives enough time for the rest
of the connector's pins to make contact, and fixes this issue.

This removes the last depency of radeon for dev->struct_mutex!

Also the locking scheme for hyperz/cmask owners seems a bit unsound,
there's no protection in the preclose handler (and that never did hold

There's also all the checks in the cs checker, but since the overall

evergreen_cs_check_reg() is a large function and gcc doesn't want to
inline it. It has a quick check for reg_safe_bm[] to see if register
needs special handling, which often results in early exit. However
because the function is large, it has a long prologue/epilogue to
save/restore all the callee-save registers which according to perf is
taking significant amount of time. To avoid this, we can reuse
evergreen_is_safe_reg() to do the early check directly in register loop.

to switch to WRITE_STATUS_UPDATE to poll for the completion of the
original request.

Looks like radeon doesn't do anything special with the request type,
so hopefully just treating it the same as a i2c write is enough.

Stephen Chandler Paul 924f92bf12 DRM - radeon: Don't link train DisplayPort on HPD until we get the dpcd
Most of the time this isn't an issue since hotplugging an adaptor will
trigger a crtc mode change which in turn, causes the driver to probe
every DisplayPort for a dpcd. However, in cases where hotplugging
doesn't cause a mode change (specifically when one unplugs a monitor
from a DisplayPort connector, then plugs that same monitor back in
seconds later on the same port without any other monitors connected), we
never probe for the dpcd before starting the initial link training. What
happens from there looks like this:

	- GPU has only one monitor connected. It's connected via
DisplayPort, and does not go through an adaptor of any sort.

	- User unplugs DisplayPort connector from GPU.

	- Change in HPD is detected by the driver, we probe every
	  DisplayPort for a possible connection.

	- Probe the port the user originally had the monitor connected
on for it's dpcd. This fails, and we clear the first (and only
the first) byte of the dpcd to indicate we no longer have a
	  dpcd for this port.

	- User plugs the previously disconnected monitor back into the
	  same DisplayPort.

	- radeon_connector_hotplug() is called before everyone else,
and tries to handle the link training. Since only the first
byte of the dpcd is zeroed, the driver is able to complete
link training but does so against the wrong dpcd, causing it
to initialize the link with the wrong settings.

	- Display stays blank (usually), dpcd is probed after the
initial link training, and the driver prints no obvious
	  messages to the log.

In theory, since only one byte of the dpcd is chopped off (specifically,
the byte that contains the revision information for DisplayPort), it's
not entirely impossible that this bug may not show on certain monitors.
For instance, the only reason this bug was visible on my ASUS PB238
monitor was due to the fact that this monitor using the enhanced framing
symbol sequence, the flag for which is ignored if the radeon driver
thinks that the DisplayPort version is below 1.1.

We already grab 2 device-global locks (write-sema rdev->pm.mclk_lock

Michel Dänzer cd404af0c9 drm/radeon: Clean up reference counting and pinning of the cursor BOs
Take a GEM reference for and pin the new cursor BO, unpin and drop the
GEM reference for the old cursor BO in radeon_crtc_cursor_set2, and use
radeon_crtc->cursor_addr in radeon_set_cursor.

This fixes radeon_cursor_reset accidentally incrementing the cursor BO
pin count, and cleans up the code a little.

Mario Kleiner 07f18f0bb8 drm/radeon: Handle irqs only based on irq ring, not irq status regs.
Trying to resolve issues with missed vblanks and impossible
values inside delivered kms pageflip completion events showed
that radeon's irq handling sometimes doesn't handle valid irqs,
but silently skips them. This was observed for vblank interrupts.

Although those irqs have corresponding events queued in the gpu's
irq ring at time of interrupt, and therefore the corresponding
handling code gets triggered by these events, the handling code
sometimes silently skipped processing the irq. The reason for those
skips is that the handling code double-checks for each irq event if
the corresponding irq status bits in the irq status registers
are set. Sometimes those bits are not set at time of check
for valid irqs, maybe due to some hardware race on some setups?

The problem only seems to happen on some machine + card combos
sometimes, e.g., never happened during my testing of different PC
cards of the DCE-2/3/4 generation a year ago, but happens consistently
now on two different Apple Mac cards (RV730, DCE-3, Apple iMac and
Evergreen JUNIPER, DCE-4 in a Apple MacPro). It also doesn't happen
at each interrupt but only occassionally every couple of
hundred or thousand vblank interrupts.

This results in XOrg warning messages like

"[ 7084.472] (WW) RADEON(0): radeon_dri2_flip_event_handler:
Pageflip completion event has impossible msc 420120 < target_msc 420121"

as well as skipped frames and problems for applications that
use kms pageflip events or vblank events, e.g., users of DRI2 and
DRI3/Present, Waylands Weston compositor, etc. See also

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85203

After some talking to Alex and Michel, we decided to fix this
by turning the double-check for asserted irq status bits into a
warning. Whenever a irq event is queued in the IH ring, always
execute the corresponding interrupt handler. Still check the irq
status bits, but only to log a DRM_DEBUG message on a mismatch.

This fixed the problems reliably on both previously failing
cards, RV-730 dual-head tested on both crtcs (pipes D1 and D2)
and a triple-output Juniper HD-5770 card tested on all three
available crtcs (D1/D2/D3). The r600 and evergreen irq handling
is therefore tested, but the cik an si handling is only compile
tested due to lack of hw.

Jérôme Glisse 161569deaa drm/radeon: compute ring fix hibernation (CI GPU family) v2.
In order for hibernation to reliably work we need to cleanup more
thoroughly the compute ring. Hibernation is different from suspend
resume as when we resume from hibernation the hardware is first
fully initialize by regular kernel then freeze callback happens
(which correspond to a suspend inside the radeon kernel driver)
and turn off each of the block. It turns out we were not cleanly
shutting down the compute ring. This patch fix that.
