Kuninori Morimoto 9904319d4f ARM: shmobile: add GPIO IRQ macro
R-Car series gpio_rcar driver can control GPIO IRQ today.
It needs base IRQ number for gpio_rcar_config :: .irq_base
This patch adds macro for GPIO IRQ.
This patch was tested on Bock-W board

Bastian Hecht 744fdc8dc0 ARM: shmobile: r8a7740: Prepare for reference DT setup
We need three steps to prepare for the new Armadillo reference DT board code:
 - Split the device list into r8a7740_early_devices used by the old platform
data setup (board-armadillo.c) and r8a7740_devices_dt used by both
   setup variants.
 - Introduce new r8a7740_init_delay() to be more flexible about calling
   shmobile_setup_delay().
 - For the generic r8a7740 support, we switch to device tree setup for
the GIC, the irqpin devices and the I2C controllers.

This is slightly similar to commit 3b00f93426

Linus Torvalds fcba914542 ARM: arm-soc platform updates for 3.10, part 3
This is the third and smallest of the SoC specific updates.
 Changes include:

 * SMP support for the Xilinx zynq platform
 * Smaller imx changes
 * LPAE support for mvebu
 * Moving the orion5x, kirkwood, dove and mvebu platforms
to a common "mbus" driver for their internal devices.

It would be good to get feedback on the location of the "mbus"
driver. Since this is used on multiple platforms may potentially
get shared with other architectures (powerpc and arm64), it
was moved to drivers/bus/. We expect other similar drivers to
get moved to the same place in order to avoid creating more
top-level directories under drivers/ or cluttering up the
 messy drivers/misc/ even more.

Linus Torvalds a8c4b90e67 ARM: arm-soc platform updates for 3.10, part 2
These patches are all for Renesas shmobile, and depend on the earlier
pinctrl updates. Remarkably, this adds support for three new SoCs:
r8a73a4, r8a73a4 and r8a7778. The bulk of the code added for these is
for pinctrl (using the new subsystem) and for clocks (not yet using the
common clock subsystem). The latter will have to get converted in one
of the upcoming releases, but shmobile is not ready for that yet.

The series also contains Renesas shmobile board changes, adding one
board file for each of the three new SoCs. These boards are using a
mix of classic and device-tree based probing, as there is still a lot of
infrastructure in shmobile that has not been converted to DT yet. Once
those are resolved to the degree that no board specific setup code is
needed, they can get folded into the respective SoC setup files.

Linus Torvalds 22b154365f ARM: arm-soc pinctrl changes for Renesas for 3.10
This is yet another driver change, which is split out just because
of its size. As already in 3.9, a lot of changes are going on here,
as the shmobile platform gets converted from its own pin control
API to the generic drivers/pinctrl subsystem.

Based on agreements with Paul Mundt, we are merging the sh-arch-side
 changes here as well.

Linus Torvalds 6fa52ed33b ARM: arm-soc driver changes for 3.10
This is a rather large set of patches for device drivers that for one
reason or another the subsystem maintainer preferred to get merged
through the arm-soc tree. There are both new drivers as well as
existing drivers that are getting converted from platform-specific
code into standalone drivers using the appropriate subsystem
 specific interfaces.

In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip
drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into
platform specific interface, or to get called from platform specific
code, as long as all information about the hardware is provided
 through a device tree.

Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since
now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we
won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the
clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future.

Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform,
which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and
modernization of its device drivers this time around, which
unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the
 merge conflicts.

There is one new subsystem that gets merged as part of this series:
the reset controller interface, which is a very simple interface
for taking devices on the SoC out of reset or back into reset.
Patches to use this interface on i.MX follow later in this merge
window, and we are going to have other platforms (at least tegra
and sirf) get converted in 3.11. This will let us get rid of
platform specific callbacks in a number of platform independent
 device drivers.

Daniel Lezcano 80d538b275 ARM: shmobile: cpuidle: remove shmobile_enter_wfi prototype
Commit 688036b538 removed the function
'shmobile_enter_wfi' but we forgot to remove the definition in the header file.

Note this function is just an alias to 'cpu_do_idle()' wrapped into a cpuidle
function callback prototype which already exists with the default WFI state
and the arm_simple_enter function.

Remove the function prototype.

Magnus Damm 8e56e6d5bf ARM: shmobile: INTC External IRQ pin driver on r8a7779
Update the r8a7779 IRQ code to make use of the
INTC External IRQ pin driver for external
interrupt pins IRQ0 -> IRQ3.

The r8a7779 SoC can like older SH SoCs configure
to use the IRQ0 -> IRQ3 signals as individual
interrupts or a combined IRL mode.

Without this patch the r8a7779 SoC code does
not fully support external IRQ pins in individual
IRQ mode. The r8a7779 PFC code does not yet have
gpio_to_irq() support so no need to update such
code.

At this point the DT reference implementations
are not covered. In the future such code shall
tie in the INTC External IRQ pin driver via
DT, so this kind of verbose code is not needed
for the long term DT case.

Simon Horman a3f22db510 ARM: mach-shmobile: sh73a0: Allow initialisation of GIC by DT
This allows the GIC interrupt controller of the sh73a0 SoC to be
initialised using a flattened device tree blob.

It does not allow the INTC interrupt controller which is also present on
the sh73a0 SoC to be enabled via device tree. Nor does it handle sharing
of interrupts between the GIC and INTC interrupt controllers.

This limits the usefulness of this code to applications which only wish to
access devices which use interrupts that can be handled by the GIC
interrupt controller. Other applications should, for now, continue using
non-device tree initialisation of the sh72a0 interrupt controllers.

Bastian Hecht 33419a69a5 ARM: SH-Mobile: sh73a0: Secondary CPUs handle own SCU flags
When booting secondary CPUs we have used the main CPU to set up the
Snoop Control Unit flags of these CPUs. It is a cleaner approach
if every CPU takes care of its own flags. We avoid the need for
locking and the program logic is more concise. With this patch the file
headsmp-sh73a0.S is added that contains a startup vector for secondary CPUs
that sets up its own SCU flags.
Further in sh73a0_smp_prepare_cpus() we can rely on the generic ARM helper
scu_power_mode(). This is possible as we don't cross borders anymore (every

Stephen Warren 6bb27d7349 ARM: delete struct sys_timer
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct,
and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization
function itself.

This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without
having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into
include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init()
function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning
the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at:

Patch 35f2b0bd59 "ARM: shmobile: Move definition of shmobile_init_late()

the function calls shmobile_suspend_init, which is also marked init.

Without this patch, building kota2_defconfig results in:

Rafael J. Wysocki caaca999d3 ARM: shmobile: Add A4S cpuidle state on sh7372

domain in such a way that A4S may be turned off by cpuidle if all

Rafael J. Wysocki 5b41147cea ARM: shmobile: Make sh7372 cpuidle handling more straightforward
The sh7372 cpuidle code uses the same artificially designed routine
shmobile_cpuidle_enter() as the .enter() callback for all of its
cpuidle states. However, shmobile_cpuidle_enter() calls a different
"enter" function for each state using an array of function pointers
populated by the sh7372 PM initialization code. Moreover, the
states[] array of the shmobile cpuidle driver is populated by that
code as well, although in principle it just might have been filled
with static data.

All of that complexity goes away if the sh7372 cpuidle code is
allowed to define its own cpuidle driver structure that can be passed
for registration to the common shmobile cpuidle initialization
routine, so modify the code accordingly.

The role of the only function in the common.c file in
arch/arm/mach-shmobile, shmobile_init_late(), is to call two
initializers whose definitions depend on kernel configuration
options. Those initializers may very well be called from a static
inline function in arm/mach-shmobile/include/mach/common.h,
though, in which makes the code a bit easier to read. Moreover,
the common.c may be dropped entirely then.

Magnus Damm 1ee8299a9e ARM: mach-shmobile: Use 0x3400 as INTCS vector offset
Update mach-shmobile to use 0x3400 as INTCS_VECT_BASE.

Since the ARM architecture a little while back added support
for 10 bit irqs we can now undo the previously merged commit
9b7c23adb3 and use 0x3400 as
INTCS vector base.

This change is necessary to avoid overlapping of interrupt
ranges so separate IRQ domains can be used for different INTC
instances. Without this fix the vectors used by various INTC
instances are overlapping on for instance sh7372 which works
at the moment but breaks upcoming IRQ domain support.

Magnus Damm d7e7e4ffc6 ARM: mach-shmobile: Introduce INTC_IRQ_PINS_16H
Add INTC_IRQ_PINS_16H to allow broken out support of the
the high 16 external interrupt pins. On SoCs with 32 external
interrupt pins the interrupt vectors for the low 16 and the
high 16 interrupt pins are sparesly populated. The low 16 are
at 0x0200 and high 16 are at 0x3200 which with current macros
results in a separation of 384 linux interrupts. This sparse
population makes it unsuitable with a single IRQ domain to
cover the full IRQ range, so this macro breaks out the 32 pins
into two separate 16 bit controllers to allow two independent
INTC instances with two separate IRQ domains.

Magnus Damm 0f2c9f20e4 ARM: mach-shmobile: Introduce shmobile_setup_delay()
Add the function shmobile_setup_delay() to let platforms
configure their maximum loops per jiffy delay. With this
jiffies calculation done the dependency on early timer
is removed.

In the future this allows us to assign timers
using the regular driver model via the device tree.

Linus Torvalds 820d41cf0c ARM: cleanups of io includes
Rob Herring has done a sweeping change cleaning up all of the mach/io.h includes,
moving some of the oft-repeated macros to a common location and removing a bunch of
boiler plate. This is another step closer to a common zImage for multiple platforms.

Merge tag 'split-asm_system_h-for-linus-20120328' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-asm_system

Pull "Disintegrate and delete asm/system.h" from David Howells:
"Here are a bunch of patches to disintegrate asm/system.h into a set of
separate bits to relieve the problem of circular inclusion
  dependencies.

I've built all the working defconfigs from all the arches that I can
and made sure that they don't break.

The reason for these patches is that I recently encountered a circular
dependency problem that came about when I produced some patches to
optimise get_order() by rewriting it to use ilog2().

This uses bitops - and on the SH arch asm/bitops.h drags in
  asm-generic/get_order.h by a circuituous route involving asm/system.h.

The main difficulty seems to be asm/system.h. It holds a number of
low level bits with no/few dependencies that are commonly used (eg.
memory barriers) and a number of bits with more dependencies that
aren't used in many places (eg. switch_to()).

These patches break asm/system.h up into the following core pieces:

    (1) asm/barrier.h

Move memory barriers here. This already done for MIPS and Alpha.

    (2) asm/switch_to.h

Move switch_to() and related stuff here.

    (3) asm/exec.h

Move arch_align_stack() here. Other process execution related bits
could perhaps go here from asm/processor.h.

    (4) asm/cmpxchg.h

Move xchg() and cmpxchg() here as they're full word atomic ops and
frequently used by atomic_xchg() and atomic_cmpxchg().

    (5) asm/bug.h

        Move die() and related bits.

    (6) asm/auxvec.h

        Move AT_VECTOR_SIZE_ARCH here.

Other arch headers are created as needed on a per-arch basis."

Fixed up some conflicts from other header file cleanups and moving code
around that has happened in the meantime, so David's testing is somewhat
weakened by that. We'll find out anything that got broken and fix it..
