Add new nested netlink attribute to configure the MRP. These attributes are used
by the userspace to add/delete/configure MRP instances and by the kernel to
notify the userspace when the MRP ring gets open/closed. MRP nested attribute
has the following attributes:
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_INSTANCE - the parameter type is br_mrp_instance which contains
the instance id, and the ifindex of the two ports. The ports can't be part of
multiple instances. This is used to create/delete MRP instances.
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_PORT_STATE - the parameter type is u32. Which can be forwarding,
blocking or disabled.
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_PORT_ROLE - the parameter type is br_mrp_port_role which
contains the instance id and the role. The role can be primary or secondary.
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_RING_STATE - the parameter type is br_mrp_ring_state which
contains the instance id and the state. The state can be open or closed.
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_RING_ROLE - the parameter type is br_mrp_ring_role which
contains the instance id and the ring role. The role can be MRM or MRC.
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_START_TEST - the parameter type is br_mrp_start_test which
contains the instance id, the interval at which to send the MRP_Test frames,
how many test frames can be missed before declaring the ring open and the
period which represent for how long to send the test frames.
Also add the file include/uapi/linux/mrp_bridge.h which defines all the types
used by MRP that are also needed by the userpace.

There are two possible utilizations so far:
- Switch devices that don't support a native insertion/extraction header
on the CPU port may still enjoy the benefits of port isolation with a
custom VLAN tag.
For this, they need to have a customizable TPID in hardware and a new
Ethertype to distinguish between real 802.1Q traffic and the private
tags used for port separation.
- Switches that don't support the deactivation of VLAN awareness, but
still want to have a mode in which they accept all traffic, including
frames that are tagged with a VLAN not configured on their ports, may
use this as a fake to trick the hardware into thinking that the TPID
for VLAN is something other than 0x8100.
What follows after the ETH_P_DSA_8021Q EtherType is a regular VLAN
header (TCI), however there is no other EtherType that can be used for
this purpose and doesn't already have a well-defined meaning.
ETH_P_8021AD, ETH_P_QINQ1, ETH_P_QINQ2 and ETH_P_QINQ3 expect that
another follow-up VLAN tag is present, which is not the case here.

Fun set of conflict resolutions here...
For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel
adds. Trivially resolved.
In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the
function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in
'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed.
In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the
'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that
added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied
over here.
The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating
the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst
a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code.
The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial,
the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and
here are their notes:
====================
Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc
branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started
being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial
merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch
and the for-next branch. This merge resolves those conflicts and
provides a unified base upon which ongoing development for 4.17 can
be based.
Conflicts:
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/main.c - Commit 42cea83f95
(IB/mlx5: Fix cleanup order on unload) added to for-rc and
commit b5ca15ad7e (IB/mlx5: Add proper representors support)
add as part of the devel cycle both needed to modify the
init/de-init functions used by mlx5. To support the new
representors, the new functions added by the cleanup patch
needed to be made non-static, and the init/de-init list
added by the representors patch needed to be modified to
match the init/de-init list changes made by the cleanup
patch.
Updates:
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.h - Update function
prototypes added by representors patch to reflect new function
names as changed by cleanup patch
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/ib_rep.c - Update init/de-init
stage list to match new order from cleanup patch

When we have a bridge with vlan_filtering on and a vlan device on top of
it, packets would be corrupted in skb_vlan_untag() called from
br_dev_xmit().
The problem sits in skb_reorder_vlan_header() used in skb_vlan_untag(),
which makes use of skb->mac_len. In this function mac_len is meant for
handling rx path with vlan devices with reorder_header disabled, but in
tx path mac_len is typically 0 and cannot be used, which is the problem
in this case.
The current code even does not properly handle rx path (skb_vlan_untag()
called from __netif_receive_skb_core()) with reorder_header off actually.
In rx path single tag case, it works as follows:
- Before skb_reorder_vlan_header()
mac_header data
v v
+-------------------+-------------+------+----
| ETH | VLAN | ETH |
| ADDRS | TPID | TCI | TYPE |
+-------------------+-------------+------+----
<-------- mac_len --------->
<------------->
to be removed
- After skb_reorder_vlan_header()
mac_header data
v v
+-------------------+------+----
| ETH | ETH |
| ADDRS | TYPE |
+-------------------+------+----
<-------- mac_len --------->
This is ok, but in rx double tag case, it corrupts packets:
- Before skb_reorder_vlan_header()
mac_header data
v v
+-------------------+-------------+-------------+------+----
| ETH | VLAN | VLAN | ETH |
| ADDRS | TPID | TCI | TPID | TCI | TYPE |
+-------------------+-------------+-------------+------+----
<--------------- mac_len ---------------->
<------------->
should be removed
<--------------------------->
actually will be removed
- After skb_reorder_vlan_header()
mac_header data
v v
+-------------------+------+----
| ETH | ETH |
| ADDRS | TYPE |
+-------------------+------+----
<--------------- mac_len ---------------->
So, two of vlan tags are both removed while only inner one should be
removed and mac_header (and mac_len) is broken.
skb_vlan_untag() is meant for removing the vlan header at (skb->data - 2),
so use skb->data and skb->mac_header to calculate the right offset.

This fixes a compile problem of some user space applications by not
including linux/libc-compat.h in uapi/if_ether.h.
linux/libc-compat.h checks which "features" the header files, included
from the libc, provide to make the Linux kernel uapi header files only
provide no conflicting structures and enums. If a user application mixes
kernel headers and libc headers it could happen that linux/libc-compat.h
gets included too early where not all other libc headers are included
yet. Then the linux/libc-compat.h would not prevent all the
redefinitions and we run into compile problems.
This patch removes the include of linux/libc-compat.h from
uapi/if_ether.h to fix the recently introduced case, but not all as this
is more or less impossible.
It is no problem to do the check directly in the if_ether.h file and not
in libc-compat.h as this does not need any fancy glibc header detection
as glibc never provided struct ethhdr and should define
__UAPI_DEF_ETHHDR by them self when they will provide this.
The following test program did not compile correctly any more:
#include <linux/if_ether.h>
#include <netinet/in.h>
#include <linux/in.h>
int main(void)
{
return 0;

Many user space API headers have licensing information, which is either
incomplete, badly formatted or just a shorthand for referring to the
license under which the file is supposed to be. This makes it hard for
compliance tools to determine the correct license.
Update these files with an SPDX license identifier. The identifier was
chosen based on the license information in the file.
GPL/LGPL licensed headers get the matching GPL/LGPL SPDX license
identifier with the added 'WITH Linux-syscall-note' exception, which is
the officially assigned exception identifier for the kernel syscall
exception:
NOTE! This copyright does *not* cover user programs that use kernel
services by normal system calls - this is merely considered normal use
of the kernel, and does *not* fall under the heading of "derived work".
This exception makes it possible to include GPL headers into non GPL
code, without confusing license compliance tools.
Headers which have either explicit dual licensing or are just licensed
under a non GPL license are updated with the corresponding SPDX
identifier and the GPLv2 with syscall exception identifier. The format
is:
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR SPDX-ID-OF-OTHER-LICENSE)
SPDX license identifiers are a legally binding shorthand, which can be
used instead of the full boiler plate text. The update does not remove
existing license information as this has to be done on a case by case
basis and the copyright holders might have to be consulted. This will
happen in a separate step.

With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.
Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

DSA is currently registering one packet_type function per EtherType it
needs to intercept in the receive path of a DSA-enabled Ethernet device.
Right now we have three of them: trailer, DSA and eDSA, and there might
be more in the future, this will not scale to the addition of new
protocols.
This patch proceeds with adding a new layer of abstraction and two new
functions:
dsa_switch_rcv() which will dispatch into the tag-protocol specific
receive function implemented by net/dsa/tag_*.c
dsa_slave_xmit() which will dispatch into the tag-protocol specific
transmit function implemented by net/dsa/tag_*.c
When we do create the per-port slave network devices, we iterate over
the switch protocol to assign the DSA-specific receive and transmit
operations.
A new fake ethertype value is used: ETH_P_XDSA to illustrate the fact
that this is no longer going to look like ETH_P_DSA or ETH_P_TRAILER
like it used to be.
This allows us to greatly simplify the check in eth_type_trans() and
always override the skb->protocol with ETH_P_XDSA for Ethernet switches
tagged protocol, while also reducing the number repetitive slave
netdevice_ops assignments.

High-availability Seamless Redundancy ("HSR") provides instant failover
redundancy for Ethernet networks. It requires a special network topology where
all nodes are connected in a ring (each node having two physical network
interfaces). It is suited for applications that demand high availability and
very short reaction time.
HSR acts on the Ethernet layer, using a registered Ethernet protocol type to
send special HSR frames in both directions over the ring. The driver creates
virtual network interfaces that can be used just like any ordinary Linux
network interface, for IP/TCP/UDP traffic etc. All nodes in the network ring
must be HSR capable.
This code is a "best effort" to comply with the HSR standard as described in
IEC 62439-3:2010 (HSRv0).

Add a new constant ETH_P_802_3_MIN, the minimum ethernet type for
an 802.3 frame. Frames with a lower value in the ethernet type field
are Ethernet II.
Also update all the users of this value that David Miller and
I could find to use the new constant.
Also correct a bug in util.c. The comparison with ETH_P_802_3_MIN
should be >= not >.
As suggested by Jesse Gross.
Compile tested only.

Add Ethertype 0x4305 (not an officially registered id).
This Ethertype is used by every frame generated by B.A.T.M.A.N.-Advanced. Its
definition is currently batman-adv local only and since it is not officially
registered it is better to make its definition kernel-wide so that we avoid
collisions given by future unofficial uses of the same Ethertype.
