Grant Likely d8e328b3bd spi: Add "spi:" prefix to modalias attribute of spi devices
The modalias attribute of spi devices doesn't have the "spi:" prefix
that is used in the UEVENT and in spi device drivers. This patch adds
the prefix so the modprobe can correctly match modules to devices.

Grant Likely 1e8a52e18c spi: By default setup spi_masters with 1 chipselect and dynamics bus number
Trivial simplification. Instead of requiring spi master drivers to
always set the bus number (even when a dynamic number is desired),
this patch modifies spi_alloc_master() to initialize num_chipselect to
1 (because there will always be at least one CS) and bus_num to -1 for
dynamic allocation. This simplifies the code needed to be written for
drivers.

Herton Ronaldo Krzesinski 067aa4815a spi/spi-fsl-spi: reference correct pdata in fsl_spi_cs_control
Commit 178db7d3, "spi: Fix device unregistration when unregistering
the bus master", changed spi device initialization of dev.parent pointer
to be the master's device pointer instead of his parent.

This introduced a bug in spi-fsl-spi, since its usage of spi device
pointer was not updated accordingly. This was later fixed by commit
5039a86, "spi/mpc83xx: fix NULL pdata dereference bug", but it missed
another spot on fsl_spi_cs_control function where we also need to update
usage of spi device pointer. This change address that.

Currently the prepare/unprepare transfer are called unconditionally.

Viresh Kumar ea505bc99f spi/pl022: Allow request for higher frequency than maximum possible
Currently, if we request for frequency greater than maximum possible, spi driver
returns error.

For example, if the spi block src frequency is 333/4 MHz, i.e. 83.33.. MHz,
maximum frequency programmable would be src/2. Which would come around 41.6...

It is difficult to pass frequency in these figures. We normally try to program
in round figures, like 42 MHz and it should get programmed to <=
requested_frequency, i.e. 41.6...

For this to happen, we must not return error even if requested freq is higher
than max possible. But should program it to max possible.

Florian Fainelli cde4384e10 spi/bcm63xx: convert to the pump message infrastructure
This patch converts the bcm63xx SPI driver to use the SPI infrastructure
pump message queue. Since we were previously sleeping in the SPI
driver's transfer() function (which is not allowed) this is now fixed as well.

To complete that conversion a certain number of changes have been made:
- the transfer len is split into multiple hardware transfers in case its
size is bigger than the hardware FIFO size
- the FIFO refill is no longer done in the interrupt context, which was a
bad idea leading to quick interrupt handler re-entrancy

H Hartley Sweeten d4b9b578cb spi/spi-ep93xx.c: use dma_transfer_direction instead of dma_data_direction
A new enum indicating the dma channel direction was introduced by:

commit 49920bc669
    dmaengine: add new enum dma_transfer_direction

The following commit changed spi-ep93xx to use the new enum:

commit a485df4b44
    spi, serial: move to dma_transfer_direction

In doing so a sparse warning was introduced:

warning: mixing different enum types
   int enum dma_data_direction versus
   int enum dma_transfer_direction

This is produced because the 'dir' passed in ep93xx_spi_dma_prepare
is an enum dma_data_direction and is being used to set the
dma_slave_config 'direction' which is now an enum dma_transfer_direction.

Fix this by converting spi-ep93xx to use the new enum type in all
places.

Sascha Hauer aa29d840e3 spi i.MX: do not depend on grouped clocks
the current i.MX clock support groups together unrelated clocks
to a single clock which is then used by the driver. This can't
be accomplished with the generic clock framework so we instead
request the individual clocks in the driver. For i.MX there are
generally three different clocks:

ipg: bus clock (needed to access registers)
ahb: dma relevant clock, sometimes referred to as hclk in the datasheet
per: bit clock, pixel clock

This patch changes the driver to request the individual clocks.
Currently all clk_get will get the same clock until the SoCs
are converted to the generic clock framework

Mark Brown 1e45860f54 ARM: 7366/3: amba: Remove AMBA level regulator support
The AMBA bus regulator support is being used to model on/off switches
for power domains which isn't terribly idiomatic for modern kernels with
the generic power domain code and creates integration problems on platforms
which don't use regulators for their power domains as it's hard to tell
the difference between a regulator that is needed but failed to be provided
and one that isn't supposed to be there (though DT does make that easier).

Platforms that wish to use the regulator API to manage their power domains
can indirect via the power domain interface.

This feature is only used with the vape supply of the db8500 PRCMU
driver which supplies the UARTs and MMC controllers, none of which have
support for managing vcore at runtime in mainline (only pl022 SPI
controller does). Update that supply to have an always_on constraint
until the power domain support for the system is updated so that it is
enabled for these users, this is likely to have no impact on practical
systems as probably at least one of these devices will be active and
cause AMBA to hold the supply on anyway.

Shubhrajyoti D 27b5284cfb spi: omap2-mcspi: add support for pm_runtime autosuspend
Adds support for configuring the omap2-mcspi driver use autosuspend for
runtime power management. This can reduce the latency in starting an
spi transfer by not suspending the device immediately following
completion of a transfer. If another transfer then takes place before
the autosuspend timeout (2 secs), the call to resume the device can
return immediately saving some save/ restore cycles.

Benoit Cousson 1bd897f849 spi/omap: Remove bus_num usage for instance index
bus_num was used to reference the mcspi controller instance in a fixed array.
Remove this array and store this information directly inside drvdata structure.

bus_num is now just set if the pdev->id is present or with -1 for dynamic
allocation by SPI core, but the driver does not access it anymore.

Clean some bad comments format, and remove un-needed space.

I still need to send a few checkpoint/restore patches. I've been
wobbly about merging them because I'm wobbly about the overall
prospects for success of the project. But after speaking with Pavel

Stephen Boyd 234e340582 simple_open: automatically convert to simple_open()
Many users of debugfs copy the implementation of default_open() when
they want to support a custom read/write function op. This leads to a
proliferation of the default_open() implementation across the entire
tree.

Now that the common implementation has been consolidated into libfs we
can replace all the users of this function with simple_open().

This replacement was done with the following semantic patch:

Merge tag 'split-asm_system_h-for-linus-20120328' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-asm_system

Pull "Disintegrate and delete asm/system.h" from David Howells:
"Here are a bunch of patches to disintegrate asm/system.h into a set of
separate bits to relieve the problem of circular inclusion
  dependencies.

I've built all the working defconfigs from all the arches that I can
and made sure that they don't break.

The reason for these patches is that I recently encountered a circular
dependency problem that came about when I produced some patches to
optimise get_order() by rewriting it to use ilog2().

This uses bitops - and on the SH arch asm/bitops.h drags in
  asm-generic/get_order.h by a circuituous route involving asm/system.h.

The main difficulty seems to be asm/system.h. It holds a number of
low level bits with no/few dependencies that are commonly used (eg.
memory barriers) and a number of bits with more dependencies that
aren't used in many places (eg. switch_to()).

These patches break asm/system.h up into the following core pieces:

    (1) asm/barrier.h

Move memory barriers here. This already done for MIPS and Alpha.

    (2) asm/switch_to.h

Move switch_to() and related stuff here.

    (3) asm/exec.h

Move arch_align_stack() here. Other process execution related bits
could perhaps go here from asm/processor.h.

    (4) asm/cmpxchg.h

Move xchg() and cmpxchg() here as they're full word atomic ops and
frequently used by atomic_xchg() and atomic_cmpxchg().

    (5) asm/bug.h

        Move die() and related bits.

    (6) asm/auxvec.h

        Move AT_VECTOR_SIZE_ARCH here.

Other arch headers are created as needed on a per-arch basis."

Fixed up some conflicts from other header file cleanups and moving code
around that has happened in the meantime, so David's testing is somewhat
weakened by that. We'll find out anything that got broken and fix it..

Linus Walleij ffbbdd2132 spi: create a message queueing infrastructure
This rips the message queue in the PL022 driver out and pushes
it into (optional) common infrastructure. Drivers that want to
use the message pumping thread will need to define the new
per-messags transfer methods and leave the deprecated transfer()
method as NULL.

Most of the design is described in the documentation changes that
are included in this patch.

Since there is a queue that need to be stopped when the system
is suspending/resuming, two new calls are implemented for the
device drivers to call in their suspend()/resume() functions:
spi_master_suspend() and spi_master_resume().

ChangeLog v1->v2:
- Remove Kconfig entry and do not make the queue support optional
at all, instead be more agressive and have it as part of the
  compulsory infrastructure.
- If the .transfer() method is implemented, delete print a small
deprecation notice and do not start the transfer pump.
- Fix a bitrotted comment.
ChangeLog v2->v3:
- Fix up a problematic sequence courtesy of Chris Blair.
- Stop rather than destroy the queue on suspend() courtesy of
  Chris Blair.

Chris Blair 14af60b6fb spi/pl022: Add high priority message pump support
This switches the PL022 worker to a kthread in order to get
hold of a mechanism to control the message pump priority. On
low-latency systems elevating the message kthread to realtime
priority give a real sleek response curve. This has been
confirmed by measurements. Realtime priority elevation for
a certain PL022 port can be requested from platform data.

Heiko Stuebner f35ef7cab2 ARM: S3C24XX: move spi-s3c24xx platdata out of mach
spi.h now only contains the definition of the platform data structure
for the driver in spi-s3c24xx.c . Therefore it does not need to stay
in include/mach but can instead live in linux/spi/s3c24xx.h .

Mark Brown b97b662174 spi/s3c64xx: Implement runtime PM support
Enable and disable the clocks to the SPI controller using runtime PM. This
serves the dual purpose of reducing power consumption a little and letting
the core know when the device is idle.

Mark Brown c2573128ad spi/s3c64xx: Log error interrupts
Although the hardware supports interrupts we're not currently using them
at all since for small transfers the overhead is greater than that for
busy waiting and for large transfers we have interrupts from the DMA.
This means that if the hardware reports an error (especially one which
might not stall transfer) we might miss it.

Take a first pass at dealing with such errors by enabling the interrupt
if we can and logging the errors if they happen. Ideally we'd report the
error via the affected transfer but since we're in master mode it's very
difficult to trigger errors at present and this code is much simpler.
