The host needs to tell the device the exit latencies using the SET_SEL
request before device initiated link powermanagement can be enabled.
The exit latency values do not change after enumeration, it's enough
to set them once. So do like Windows 10 and issue the SET_SEL request
once just before setting the configuration.
This is also the sequence described in USB 3.2 specs "9.1.2 Bus
enumeration". SET_SEL is issued once before the Set Configuration
request, and won't be cleared by the Set Configuration,
Set Interface or ClearFeature (STALL) requests.
Only warm reset, hot reset, set Address 0 clears the exit latencies.
See USB 3.2 section 9.4.14 Table 9-10 Device parameters and events
Add udev->lpm_devinit_allow, and set it if SET_SEL was successful.
If not set, then don't try to enable device initiated LPM
We used to issue a SET_SEL request every time lpm is enabled for either
U1 or U2 link states, meaning a SET_SEL was issued twice after every
Set Configuration and Set Interface requests, easily accumulating to
over 15 SET_SEL requets during a USB3 webcam enumeration.

All the USB Type-C Connector Class devices are protected, so

Introducing a small device class for USB Power Delivery.
The idea with it is that we do not mix any more USB Power
Delivery information into the USB Type-C connectors only.
This separation will make it possible to register USB Power
Delivery devices also from other places, for example from
USB Type-C Bridges (see USB Type-C Bridge Specification).
The device class will not always deal with only the messages
and objects that were negotiated with the partner, but
instead messages and objects that can be used in the
negotiation. That allows the USB PD devices to be shared and
reconfigured. The ports can decide which objects are to be
advertised to the partner before the contract is negotiated.
It is also possible to allow the user space to make that
decision if needed.

In some cases the port of an hub needs to be disabled or switched off
and on again. E.g. when the connected device needs to be re-enumerated.
Or it needs to be explicitly disabled while the rest of the usb tree
stays working.
For this purpose this patch adds an sysfs switch to enable/disable the
port on any hub. In the case the hub is supporting power switching, the
power line will be disabled to the connected device.
When the port gets disabled, the associated device gets disconnected and
removed from the logical usb tree. No further device will be enumerated
on that port until the port gets enabled again.

Some SoC(e.g NXP imx8MQ) may have a wrong default power down scale
setting so need init it to be the correct value, the power down
scale setting description in DWC3 databook:
Power Down Scale (PwrDnScale)
The USB3 suspend_clk input replaces pipe3_rx_pclk as a clock source to
a small part of the USB3 core that operates when the SS PHY is in its
lowest power (P3) state, and therefore does not provide a clock.
The Power Down Scale field specifies how many suspend_clk periods fit
into a 16 kHz clock period. When performing the division, round up the
remainder.
For example, when using an 8-bit/16-bit/32-bit PHY and 25-MHz Suspend
clock,
Power Down Scale = 25000 kHz/16 kHz = 13'd1563 (rounder up)
So use the suspend clock rate to calculate it.

In systemd systems setting a fixed MAC address through
the "dev_addr" module argument fails systematically.
When checking the MAC address after the interface is created
it always has the same but different MAC address to the one

This is partially caused by systemd which by default will
set an internally generated permanent MAC address for interfaces
that are marked as having a randomly generated address.
Commit 890d5b4090 ("usb: gadget: u_ether: fix race in

for only one max packet, it will divide the value and assign a smaller ep
max packet limit.
For example, if the default TxFIFO size fits 1024B, current logic will
assign 1024/3 = 341B to ep max packet size. If function drivers attempt to
request for an endpoint with a wMaxPacketSize of 1024B (SS BULK max packet
size) then it will fail, as the gadget is unable to find an endpoint which
can fit the requested size.
Functionally, if the TxFIFO has enough space to fit one max packet, it will
be sufficient, at least when initializing the endpoints.

Here is the large set of char, misc, and other driver subsystem updates
for 5.19-rc1. The merge request for this has been delayed as I wanted
to get lots of linux-next testing due to some late arrivals of changes
for the habannalabs driver.
Highlights of this merge are:
- habanalabs driver updates for new hardware types and fixes and
other updates
- IIO driver tree merge which includes loads of new IIO drivers
and cleanups and additions
- PHY driver tree merge with new drivers and small updates to
existing ones
- interconnect driver tree merge with fixes and updates
- soundwire driver tree merge with some small fixes
- coresight driver tree merge with small fixes and updates
- mhi bus driver tree merge with lots of updates and new device
support
- firmware driver updates
- fpga driver updates
- lkdtm driver updates (with a merge conflict, more on that
below)
- extcon driver tree merge with small updates
- lots of other tiny driver updates and fixes and cleanups, full
details in the shortlog.
All of these have been in linux-next for almost 2 weeks with no reported
problems.
Note, there are 3 merge conflicts when merging this with your tree:
- MAINTAINERS, should be easy to resolve
- drivers/slimbus/qcom-ctrl.c, should be straightforward
resolution
- drivers/misc/lkdtm/stackleak.c, not an easy resolution. This
has been noted in the linux-next tree for a while, and
resolved there, here's a link to the resolution that Stephen
came up with and that Kees says is correct:
https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220509185344.3fe1a354@canb.auug.org.au
I will be glad to provide a merge point that contains these resolutions
if that makes things any easier for you.

Here is the "big" set of USB and Thunderbolt driver changes for
5.18-rc1. For the most part it's been a quiet development cycle for the
USB core, but there are the usual "hot spots" of development activity.
Included in here are:
- Thunderbolt driver updates:
- fixes for devices without displayport adapters
- lane bonding support and improvements
- other minor changes based on device testing
- dwc3 gadget driver changes. It seems this driver will never
be finished given that the IP core is showing up in zillions
of new devices and each implementation decides to do something
different with it...
- uvc gadget driver updates as more devices start to use and
rely on this hardware as well
- usb_maxpacket() api changes to remove an unneeded and unused
parameter.
- usb-serial driver device id updates and small cleanups
- typec cleanups and fixes based on device testing
- device tree updates for usb properties
- lots of other small fixes and driver updates.
All of these have been in linux-next for weeks with no reported

remained separate.
This has to touch a lot of drivers, in particular the touchscreen,
pcmcia, sound and clk bits, to detach the driver files from the

This series has been 12 years in the making, it mostly finishes the
work that was started with the founding of Linaro to clean up platform
support in the kernel.
The largest change here is a cleanup of the omap1 platform, which
is the final ARM machine type to get converted to the common-clk
subsystem. All the omap1 specific drivers are now made independent of the
mach/*.h headers to allow the platform to be part of a generic ARMv4/v5
multiplatform kernel. The last bit that enables this support is still
missing here while we wait for some last dependencies to make it into
the mainline kernel through other subsystems.
The s3c24xx, ixp4xx, iop32x, ep93xx and dove platforms were all almost
at the point of allowing multiplatform kernels, this work gets completed
here along with a few additional cleanup. At the same time, the s3c24xx
and s3c64xx are now deprecated and expected to get removed in the future.
The PXA and OMAP1 bits are in a separate branch because of dependencies.
Once both branches are merged, only the three Intel StrongARM platforms
(RiscPC, Footbridge/NetWinder and StrongARM1100) need separate kernels,
and there are no plans to include these.

When dwc3_gadget_ep_cleanup_completed_requests() called to
dwc3_gadget_giveback() where the dwc3 lock is released, other thread is
able to execute. In this situation, usb_ep_disable() gets the chance to
clear endpoint descriptor pointer which leds to the null pointer
dereference problem. So needs to move the null pointer check to a proper
place.
Example call stack:

Some devices have USB compositions which may require multiple endpoints.
To get better performance, need bigger CDNS3_EP_BUF_SIZE.
But bigger CDNS3_EP_BUF_SIZE may exceed total hardware FIFO size when
multiple endpoints.
By introducing the check_config() callback, calculate CDNS3_EP_BUF_SIZE.
Move CDNS3_EP_BUF_SIZE into cnds3_device: ep_buf_size
Combine CDNS3_EP_ISO_SS_BURST and CDNS3_EP_ISO_HS_MULT into
cnds3_device:ep_iso_burst
Using a simple algorithm to calculate ep_buf_size.
ep_buf_size = ep_iso_burst = (onchip_buffers - 2k) / (number of IN EP +
1).
Test at 8qxp:
Gadget ep_buf_size
RNDIS: 5
RNDIS+ACM: 3
Mass Storage + NCM + ACM 2
Previous CDNS3_EP_BUF_SIZE is 4, RNDIS + ACM will be failure because
exceed FIFO memory.

According to the databook ep0 should be in setup phase during reset.
If host issues reset between control transfers, ep0 will be in an
invalid state. Fix this by issuing stall and restart on ep0 if it
is not in setup phase.
Also SW needs to complete pending control transfer and setup core for
next setup stage as per data book. Hence check ep0 state during reset
interrupt handling and make sure active transfers on ep0 out/in
endpoint are stopped by queuing ENDXFER command for that endpoint and
restart ep0 out again to receive next setup packet.

initcall_debug shows that OHCI controllers take ~60ms to probe on
Rockchip RK3399 systems:
probe of fe3a0000.usb returned 1 after 58941 usecs
A few of these can add up to waste non-trivial amounts of time at boot.
These host controllers don't provide resources to other drivers, so
this shouldn't contribute to exposing race conditions.
Chrome OS kernels have carried this patch on some systems for a while
without issues. Similar patches have been merged for a variety of (e)MMC
host controllers for similar reasons.

Running the driver through kasan gives an interesting splat:
BUG: KASAN: global-out-of-bounds in isp1760_register+0x180/0x70c
Read of size 20 at addr f1db2e64 by task swapper/0/1
(...)
isp1760_register from isp1760_plat_probe+0x1d8/0x220
(...)
This happens because the loop reading the regmap fields for the
different ISP1760 variants look like this:
for (i = 0; i < HC_FIELD_MAX; i++) { ... }
Meaning it expects the arrays to be at least HC_FIELD_MAX - 1 long.
However the arrays isp1760_hc_reg_fields[], isp1763_hc_reg_fields[],
isp1763_hc_volatile_ranges[] and isp1763_dc_volatile_ranges[] are
dynamically sized during compilation.
Fix this by putting an empty assignment to the [HC_FIELD_MAX]
and [DC_FIELD_MAX] array member at the end of each array.
This will make the array one member longer than it needs to be,
but avoids the risk of overwriting whatever is inside
[HC_FIELD_MAX - 1] and is simple and intuitive to read. Also
add comments explaining what is going on.

The extcon_get_extcon_dev() function returns error pointers on error,
NULL when it's a -EPROBE_DEFER defer situation, and ERR_PTR(-ENODEV)
when the CONFIG_EXTCON option is disabled. This is very complicated for
the callers to handle and a number of them had bugs that would lead to
an Oops.
In real life, there are two things which prevented crashes. First,
error pointers would only be returned if there was bug in the caller
where they passed a NULL "extcon_name" and none of them do that.
Second, only two out of the eight drivers will build when CONFIG_EXTCON
is disabled.
The normal way to write this would be to return -EPROBE_DEFER directly
when appropriate and return NULL when CONFIG_EXTCON is disabled. Then
the error handling is simple and just looks like:
dev->edev = extcon_get_extcon_dev(acpi_dev_name(adev));
if (IS_ERR(dev->edev))
return PTR_ERR(dev->edev);
For the two drivers which can build with CONFIG_EXTCON disabled, then
extcon_get_extcon_dev() will now return NULL which is not treated as an
error and the probe will continue successfully. Those two drivers are
"typec_fusb302" and "max8997-battery". In the original code, the
typec_fusb302 driver had an 800ms hang in tcpm_get_current_limit() but
now that function is a no-op. For the max8997-battery driver everything
should continue working as is.

The 'stop endpoint' command timer was started when a 'stop endpoint'
command was added to the command queue.
This can trigger unwanted timeouts if there are several pending commands
in the queue that xHC needs to handle first.
The generic command timer, which was added later than the 'stop endpoint'
timeout timer, times each command currently being handled by xHC hardware.
A timed out stop endpoint command was treated as a more severe issue than
other failed commands, so the separate stop endpoint timer was left
unchanged.
Use the generic command timer for stop endpoint commands. Identify if
the timed out command was a stop endpoint command in the generic handler,
and treat it with the same severity as earlier.

Putting USB gadgets on a new bus of their own encounters a problem
when multiple gadgets are present: They all have the same name! The
driver core fails with a "sys: cannot create duplicate filename" error
when creating any of the /sys/bus/gadget/devices/<gadget-name>
symbolic links after the first.
This patch fixes the problem by adding a ".N" suffix to each gadget's
name when the gadget is registered (where N is a unique ID number),
thus making the names distinct.

Returning an error value in an i2c remove callback results in an error
message being emitted by the i2c core, but otherwise it doesn't make a
difference. The device goes away anyhow and the devm cleanups are
called.
In this case the remove callback even returns early without stopping the
tcpm worker thread and various timers. A work scheduled on the work
queue, or a firing timer after tcpci_remove() returned probably results
in a use-after-free situation because the regmap and driver data were
freed. So better make sure that tcpci_unregister_port() is called even
if disabling the irq failed.
Also emit a more specific error message instead of the i2c core's
"remove failed (EIO), will be ignored" and return 0 to suppress the
core's warning.
This patch is (also) a preparation for making i2c remove callbacks
return void.

cdc-wdm tracks whether a response reading request is in-progress and
blocks the next request from being sent until the previous request is
completed. As soon as last user closes the cdc-wdm device file, the
driver cancels any ongoing requests, resets the pending response
counter, but leaves the response reading in-progress flag
(WDM_RESPONDING) untouched.
So if the user closes the device file during the response receive
request is being performed, no more data will be obtained from the
modem. The request will be cancelled, effectively preventing the
WDM_RESPONDING flag from being reseted. Keeping the flag set will
prevent a new response receive request from being sent, permanently
blocking the read path. The read path will staying blocked until the
module will be reloaded or till the modem will be re-attached.
This stuck has been observed with a Huawei E3372 modem attached to an
OpenWrt router and using the comgt utility to set up a network
connection.
Fix this issue by clearing the WDM_RESPONDING flag on the device file
close.
Without this fix, the device reading stuck can be easily reproduced in a
few connection establishing attempts. With this fix, a load test for
modem connection re-establishing worked for several hours without any
issues.

If the controller hasn't DMA'ed the Setup data from its fifo, it won't
process the End Transfer command. Polling for the command completion may

The driver shouldn't be able to issue End Transfer to the control
endpoint at anytime. Typically we should only do so in error cases such
as invalid/unexpected direction of Data Phase as described in the
control transfer flow of the programming guide. It _may_ end started
data phase during controller deinitialization from soft disconnect or
driver removal. However, that should not happen because the driver
should be maintained in EP0_SETUP_PHASE during driver tear-down. On
soft-connect, the controller should be reset from a soft-reset and there
should be no issue starting the control endpoint.

The main issue this driver addresses is that a USB hub needs to be
powered before it can be discovered. For discrete onboard hubs (an
example for such a hub is the Realtek RTS5411) this is often solved
by supplying the hub with an 'always-on' regulator, which is kind
of a hack. Some onboard hubs may require further initialization
steps, like changing the state of a GPIO or enabling a clock, which
requires even more hacks. This driver creates a platform device
representing the hub which performs the necessary initialization.
Currently it only supports switching on a single regulator, support
for multiple regulators or other actions can be added as needed.
Different initialization sequences can be supported based on the
compatible string.
Besides performing the initialization the driver can be configured
to power the hub off during system suspend. This can help to extend
battery life on battery powered devices which have no requirements
to keep the hub powered during suspend. The driver can also be
configured to leave the hub powered when a wakeup capable USB device
is connected when suspending, and power it off otherwise.
Technically the driver consists of two drivers, the platform driver
described above and a very thin USB driver that subclasses the
generic driver. The purpose of this driver is to provide the platform
driver with the USB devices corresponding to the hub(s) (a hub
controller may provide multiple 'logical' hubs, e.g. one to support
USB 2.0 and another for USB 3.x).
Note: the current series only supports hubs connected directly to
a root hub, support for other configurations could be added if
needed.

This patch adds a "gadget" bus and uses it for registering gadgets and
their drivers. From now on, bindings will be managed by the driver
core rather than through ad-hoc manipulations in the UDC core.
As part of this change, the driver_pending_list is removed. The UDC
core won't need to keep track of unbound drivers for later binding,
because the driver core handles all of that for us.
However, we do need one new feature: a way to prevent gadget drivers
from being bound to more than one gadget at a time. The existing code
does this automatically, but the driver core doesn't -- it's perfectly
happy to bind a single driver to all the matching devices on the bus.
The patch adds a new bitflag to the usb_gadget_driver structure for
this purpose.
A nice side effect of this change is a reduction in the total lines of
code, since now the driver core will do part of the work that the UDC
used to do.
A possible future patch could add udc devices to the gadget bus, say
as a separate device type.

In preparation for adding a "gadget" bus, this patch reverses the
order of registration of udc and gadget devices in usb_add_gadget().
The current code adds the gadget device first, probably because that
was more convenient at the time and the order didn't really matter.
But with the upcoming change, adding the gadget will cause driver
probing to occur. Unwinding that on the error pathway will become
much more obtrusive, not to mention the fact that a gadget driver
might not work properly before the udc is registered. It's better to
register the udc device first, particularly since that doesn't involve
a bus or driver binding and therefore is simpler to unwind.
For symmetry, the order of unregistration in usb_del_gadget() is
likewise reversed.

The ON Semiconductor FSA4480 is a USB Type-C port multimedia switch with
support for analog audio headsets. It allows sharing a common USB Type-C
port to pass USB2.0 signal, analog audio, sideband use wires and analog
microphone signal.
Due to lacking upstream audio support for testing, the audio muxing is
left untouched, but implementation of muxing the SBU lines is provided
as a pair of Type-C mux and switch devices. This provides the necessary
support for enabling the DisplayPort altmode on devices with this
circuit.

In the Qualcomm platforms the USB/DP PHY handles muxing and orientation
switching of the SuperSpeed lines, but the SBU lines needs to be
connected and switched by external (to the SoC) hardware.
It's therefor necessary to be able to have the TypeC controller operate
multiple TypeC muxes and switches. Use the newly introduced indirection
object to handle this, to avoid having to taint the TypeC controllers
with knowledge about the downstream hardware configuration.
The max number of devs per indirection is set to 3, which account for
being able to mux/switch the USB HS, SS and SBU lines, as per defined
defined in the usb-c-connector binding. This number could be grown if
need arrises at a later point in time.

The documentation for the freeze() method says that it "should quiesce
the device so that it doesn't generate IRQs or DMA". The unspoken
consequence of not doing this is that MSIs aimed at non-boot CPUs may
get fully lost if they're sent during the period where the target CPU is
offline.
The current callbacks for USB HCD do not fully quiesce interrupts,
specifically on XHCI. Change to use the full suspend/resume flow for
freeze/thaw to ensure interrupts are fully quiesced. This fixes issues
where USB devices fail to thaw during hibernation because XHCI misses
its interrupt and cannot recover.

The PM_EVENT_FREEZE and PM_EVENT_QUIESCE messages should cause the
device to stop generating interrupts. USB core was previously allowing
devices that were already runtime suspended to keep remote wakeup
enabled if they had gone down that way. This violates the contract with
pm, and can potentially cause MSI interrupts to be lost.
Change that so that if a device is runtime suspended with remote wakeups
enabled, it will be resumed to ensure remote wakeup is always disabled

The list_for_each_entry_safe() macro saves the current item (n) and
the item after (n+1), so that n can be safely removed without
corrupting the list. However, when traversing the list and removing
items using gadget giveback, the DWC3 lock is briefly released,
allowing other routines to execute. There is a situation where, while
items are being removed from the cancelled_list using
dwc3_gadget_ep_cleanup_cancelled_requests(), the pullup disable
routine is running in parallel (due to UDC unbind). As the cleanup
routine removes n, and the pullup disable removes n+1, once the
cleanup retakes the DWC3 lock, it references a request who was already
removed/handled. With list debug enabled, this leads to a panic.
Ensure all instances of the macro are replaced where gadget giveback
is used.

The usb_ep_clear_halt() API can be called from the function driver, and
translates to dwc3_gadget_ep_set_halt(). This routine is shared with when
the host issues a clear feature ENDPOINT_HALT, and is differentiated by the
protocol argument. If the following sequence occurs, there can be a
situation where the delayed_status flag is improperly cleared for the wrong
SETUP transaction:
1. Vendor specific control transfer returns USB_GADGET_DELAYED_STATUS.
2. DWC3 gadget sets dwc->delayed_status to '1'.
3. Another function driver issues a usb_ep_clear_halt() call.
4. DWC3 gadget issues dwc3_stop_active_transfer() and sets
DWC3_EP_PENDING_CLEAR_STALL.
5. EP command complete interrupt triggers for the end transfer, and
dwc3_ep0_send_delayed_status() is allowed to run, as delayed_status
is '1' due to step#1.
6. STATUS phase is sent, and delayed_status is cleared.
7. Vendor specific control transfer is finished being handled, and issues
usb_composite_setup_continue(). This results in queuing of a data
phase.
Cache the protocol flag so that DWC3 gadget is aware of when the clear halt
is due to a SETUP request from the host versus when it is sourced from a
function driver. This allows for the EP command complete interrupt to know
if it needs to issue a delayed status phase.

Since commit ae8709b296 ("USB: core: Make do_proc_control() and
do_proc_bulk() killable") if a device has the USB_QUIRK_DELAY_CTRL_MSG
quirk set, it will temporarily block all other URBs (e.g. interrupts)
while sleeping due to a control.
This results in noticeable delays when, for example, a userspace usbfs
application is sending URB interrupts at a high rate to a keyboard and
simultaneously updates the lock indicators using controls. Interrupts
with direction set to IN are also affected by this, meaning that
delivery of HID reports (containing scancodes) to the usbfs application
is delayed as well.
This patch fixes the regression by calling msleep() while the device
mutex is unlocked, as was the case originally with usb_control_msg().

If the PHY controller node has a "port" dwc3 tries to find an
extcon device even when "usb-role-switch" is present. This happens
because dwc3_get_extcon() sees that "port" node and then calls
extcon_find_edev_by_node() which will always return EPROBE_DEFER
in that case.
On the other hand, even if an extcon was present and dwc3_get_extcon()
was successful it would still be ignored in favor of "usb-role-switch".
Let's just first check if "usb-role-switch" is configured in the device

platform_get_irq() instead is a recommended way for getting IRQ even if

The function documentation of usb_set_configuration says that its
callers should hold the device lock. This lock is held for all
callsites except tweak_set_configuration_cmd. The code path can be
executed for example when attaching a remote USB device.
The solution is to surround the call by the device lock.
This bug was found using my experimental own-developed static analysis
tool, which reported the missing lock on v5.17.2. I manually verified
this bug report by doing code review as well. I runtime checked that
the required lock is not held. I compiled and runtime tested this on
x86_64 with a USB mouse. After applying this patch, my analyser no
longer reports this potential bug.

Commit 33fb697ec7 ("usb: dwc3: Get clocks individually") moved from
the clk_bulk api to individual clocks, following the snps,dwc3.yaml
dt-binding for clock names.
Unfortunately the rk3328 (and upcoming rk356x support) use the
rockchip,dwc3.yaml which has different clock names, which are common on
devices using the glue layer.
The rk3328 does not use a glue layer, but attaches directly to the dwc3
core driver.
The offending patch series failed to account for this, thus dwc3 was
broken on rk3328.
To retain backwards compatibility with rk3328 device trees we must also
check for the alternate clock names.

In zhaoxin platform, some ehci projects will latch a wakeup signal
internal when plug in a device on port during system S0. This wakeup
signal will turn on when ehci runtime suspend, which will trigger a
system control interrupt that will resume ehci back to D0. As no
device connect, ehci will be set to runtime suspend and turn on the
internal latched wakeup signal again. It will cause a suspend-resume
loop and generate system control interrupt continuously.
Fixed this issue by clear wakeup signal latched in ehci internal when
ehci resume callback is called.

If PMC receives a high priority command while servicing a low priority

The sizeof(struct whitehat_dr_info) can be 4 bytes under CONFIG_AEABI=n
due to "-mabi=apcs-gnu", even though it has a single u8:
whiteheat_private {
__u8 mcr; /* 0 1 */
/* size: 4, cachelines: 1, members: 1 */
/* padding: 3 */
/* last cacheline: 4 bytes */
};
The result is technically harmless, as both the source and the
destinations are currently the same allocation size (4 bytes) and don't
use their padding, but if anything were to ever be added after the
"mcr" member in "struct whiteheat_private", it would be overwritten. The
structs both have a single u8 "mcr" member, but are 4 bytes in padded
size. The memcpy() destination was explicitly targeting the u8 member
(size 1) with the length of the whole structure (size 4), triggering

The mach/hardware.h is included in lots of places, and it provides
three different things on pxa:
- the cpu_is_pxa* macros
- an indirect inclusion of mach/addr-map.h
- the __REG() and io_pv2() helper macros
Split it up into separate <linux/soc/pxa/cpu.h> and mach/pxa-regs.h
headers, then change all the files that use mach/hardware.h to
include the exact set of those three headers that they actually
need, allowing for further more targeted cleanup.
linux/soc/pxa/cpu.h can remain permanently exported and is now in
a global location along with similar headers. pxa-regs.h and
addr-map.h are only used in a very small number of drivers now
and can be moved to arch/arm/mach-pxa/ directly when those drivers
are to pass the necessary data as resources.

Path fixes bug which occurs during resetting endpoint in
__cdns3_gadget_ep_clear_halt function. During resetting endpoint
controller will change HW/DMA owned TRB. It set Abort flag in
trb->control and will change trb->length field. If driver want
to use the aborted trb it must update the changed field in
TRB.

The first U3 wake signal by the host may be lost if the USB 3 connection is
tunneled over USB4, with a runtime suspended USB4 host, and firmware
implemented connection manager.
Specs state the host must wait 100ms (tU3WakeupRetryDelay) before
resending a U3 wake signal if device doesn't respond, leading to U3 -> U0
link transition times around 270ms in the tunneled case.

While rebooting, XHCI controller and its bus device will be shut down
in order by .shutdown callback. Stopping roothubs polling in
xhci_shutdown() can prevent XHCI driver from accessing port status
after its bus device shutdown.
Take PCIe XHCI controller as example, if XHCI driver doesn't stop roothubs
polling, XHCI driver may access PCIe BAR register for port status after
parent PCIe root port driver is shutdown and cause PCIe bus error.

In some situations software handles TRB events slower than adding TRBs.
If the number of TRB events to be processed in a given interrupt is exactly
the same as the event ring size 256, then the local variable
"event_ring_deq" that holds the initial dequeue position is equal to
software_dequeue after handling all 256 interrupts.
It will cause driver to not update ERDP to hardware,
Software dequeue pointer is out of sync with ERDP on interrupt exit.
On the next interrupt, the event ring may full but driver will not
update ERDP as software_dequeue is equal to ERDP.

Hardware ERDP is updated mid event handling if there are more than 128
events in an interrupt (half of ring size).
Fix this by updating the software local variable at the same time as
hardware ERDP.

The overwhelming bulk of this pull request is a change from Uwe
Kleine-König which changes the return type of the remove() function to
void as part of some wider work he's doing to do this for all bus types,
causing updates to most SPI device drivers. The branch with that on has
been cross merged with a couple of other trees which added new SPI
drivers this cycle, I'm not expecting any build issues resulting from
the change.
Otherwise it's been a relatively quiet release with some new device
support, a few minor features and the welcome completion of the
conversion of the subsystem to use GPIO descriptors rather than numbers:
- Change return type of remove() to void.
- Completion of the conversion of SPI controller drivers to use GPIO
descriptors rather than numbers.
- Quite a few DT schema conversions.
- Support for multiple SPI devices on a bus in ACPI systems.
- Big overhaul of the PXA2xx SPI driver.
- Support for AMD AMDI0062, Intel Raptor Lake, Mediatek MT7986 and
MT8186, nVidia Tegra210 and Tegra234, Renesas RZ/V2L, Tesla FSD and
Sunplus SP7021.

Pull power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"These are mostly fixes and cleanups all over the code and a new piece
of documentation for Intel uncore frequency scaling.
Functionality-wise, the intel_idle driver will support Sapphire Rapids
Xeons natively now (with some extra facilities for controlling
C-states more precisely on those systems), virtual guests will take
the ACPI S4 hardware signature into account by default, the
intel_pstate driver will take the defualt EPP value from the firmware,
cpupower utility will support the AMD P-state driver added in the
previous cycle, and there is a new tracer utility for that driver.

support changes and ACPI tables parsing changes for 5.18-rc1:
- Use uintptr_t and offsetof() in the ACPICA code to avoid compiler
warnings regarding NULL pointer arithmetic (Rafael Wysocki).
- Fix possible NULL pointer dereference in acpi_ns_walk_namespace()
when passed "acpi=off" in the command line (Rafael Wysocki).
- Fix and clean up acpi_os_read/write_port() (Rafael Wysocki).
- Introduce acpi_bus_for_each_dev() and use it for walking all ACPI
device objects in the Type C code (Rafael Wysocki).
- Fix the _OSC platform capabilities negotioation and prevent CPPC
from being used if the platform firmware indicates that it not
supported via _OSC (Rafael Wysocki).
- Add AGDI and CEDT to the list of known ACPI table signatures (Ilkka
Koskinen, Robert Kiraly).
* acpica:
ACPICA: Avoid walking the ACPI Namespace if it is not there
ACPICA: Use uintptr_t and offsetof() in Linux kernel builds
* acpi-osl:
ACPI: OSL: Fix and clean up acpi_os_read/write_port()
* acpi-bus:
ACPI: bus: Avoid using CPPC if not supported by firmware
Revert "ACPI: Pass the same capabilities to the _OSC regardless of the query flag"
ACPI: bus: Introduce acpi_bus_for_each_dev()
* acpi-tables:
ACPI: tables: Add AGDI to the list of known table signatures
ACPI: tables: Add CEDT signature to the list of known tables
It is recommended by the Synopsis databook to issue a DCTL.CSftReset
when reconnecting from a device-initiated disconnect routine. This
resolves issues with enumeration during fast composition switching
cases, which result in an unknown device on the host.

The kernel test robot found a problem with the ene_ub6250 subdriver in
usb-storage: It uses structures containing bitfields to represent
hardware bits in its SD_STATUS, MS_STATUS, and SM_STATUS bytes. This
is not safe; it presumes a particular bit ordering and it assumes the
compiler will not insert padding, neither of which is guaranteed.
This patch fixes the problem by changing the structures to simple u8
values, with the bitfields replaced by bitmask constants.

media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API:
VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2.
On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag.
VIDEO_DEV were meant to:
1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear;
2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core.
while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that
implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one.
With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of
all V4L version 1 drivers.
At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables
the media options related to V4L, that now has:
menu "Video4Linux options"
visible if VIDEO_DEV
source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig"
endmenu
but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers.
The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency
at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other
Kconfig options:
config VIDEO_V4L2
tristate
depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV
select RATIONAL
select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE
default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV
In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now
possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies.
Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig
configurations.

Although the bug manifested in the driver core, the real cause was a
race with the gadget core. dev_uevent() does:
if (dev->driver)
add_uevent_var(env, "DRIVER=%s", dev->driver->name);
and between the test and the dereference of dev->driver, the gadget
core sets dev->driver to NULL.
The race wouldn't occur if the gadget core registered its devices on
a real bus, using the standard synchronization techniques of the
driver core. However, it's not necessary to make such a large change
in order to fix this bug; all we need to do is make sure that
udc->dev.driver is always NULL.
In fact, there is no reason for udc->dev.driver ever to be set to
anything, let alone to the value it currently gets: the address of the
gadget's driver. After all, a gadget driver only knows how to manage
a gadget, not how to manage a UDC.
This patch simply removes the statements in the gadget core that touch
udc->dev.driver.

If a Setup packet is received but yet to DMA out, the controller will
not process the End Transfer command of any endpoint. Polling of its
DEPCMD.CmdAct may block setting up TRB for Setup packet, causing a
command timeout.
This may occur if the driver doesn’t service the completion interrupt of
the control status stage yet due to system latency, then it won’t
prepare TRB and start the transfer for the next Setup Stage. To the host
side, the control transfer had completed, and the host can send a new
Setup packet at this point.
In the meanwhile, if the driver receives an async call to dequeue a
request (triggering End Transfer) to any endpoint, then the driver will
service that End transfer first, blocking the control status stage
completion handler. Since no TRB is available for the Setup stage, the
Setup packet can’t be DMA’ed out and the End Transfer gets hung.
The driver must not block setting up of the Setup stage. So track and
only issue the End Transfer command only when there’s Setup TRB prepared
so that the controller can DMA out the Setup packet. Delay the End
transfer command if there's no Setup TRB available. This is applicable to
all DWC_usb3x IPs.
