Kees Cook a86854d0c5 treewide: devm_kzalloc() -> devm_kcalloc()
The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc().
This patch replaces cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

with:
        devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle
really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...".

Kieran Bingham e646e17713 media: vsp1: Move video configuration to a cached dlb
We are now able to configure a pipeline directly into a local display
list body. Take advantage of this fact, and create a cacheable body to
store the configuration of the pipeline in the pipeline object.

vsp1_video_pipeline_run() is now the last user of the pipe->dl object.
Convert this function to use the cached pipe->stream_config body and
obtain a local display list reference.

Attach the pipe->stream_config body to the display list when needed
before committing to hardware.

Use a flag 'configured' to know when we should attach our stream_config
to the next outgoing display list to reconfigure the hardware in the
event of our first frame, or the first frame following a suspend/resume
cycle.

Our video DL usage now looks like the below output:

dl->body0 contains our disposable runtime configuration. Max 41.
dl_child->body0 is our partition specific configuration. Max 12.
dl->bodies shows our constant configuration and LUTs.

  These two are LUT/CLU:

Which shows that our 'constant' configuration cache is currently
utilised to a maximum of 64 entries.

Kieran Bingham 12832dd9dd media: vsp1: Adapt entities to configure into a body
Currently the entities store their configurations into a display list.
Adapt this such that the code can be configured into a body directly,
allowing greater flexibility and control of the content.

All users of vsp1_dl_list_write() are removed in this process, thus it
too is removed.

A helper, vsp1_dl_list_get_body0() is provided to access the internal body0
from the display list.

Kieran Bingham 46ce3639a5 media: vsp1: Refactor display list configure operations
The entities provide a single .configure operation which configures the
object into the target display list, based on the vsp1_entity_params
selection.

Split the configure function into three parts, '.configure_stream()',
'.configure_frame()', and '.configure_partition()' to facilitate
splitting the configuration of each parameter class into separate
display list bodies.

Kieran Bingham 2d9445db0e media: vsp1: Use reference counting for bodies
Extend the display list body with a reference count, allowing bodies to
be kept as long as a reference is maintained. This provides the ability
to keep a cached copy of bodies which will not change, so that they can
be re-applied to multiple display lists.

Kieran Bingham 5d7936b8e2 media: vsp1: Convert display lists to use new body pool
Adapt the dl->body0 object to use an object from the body pool. This
greatly reduces the pressure on the TLB for IPMMU use cases, as all of
the lists use a single allocation for the main body.

The CLU and LUT objects pre-allocate a pool containing three bodies,
allowing a userspace update before the hardware has committed a previous
set of tables.

Bodies are no longer 'freed' in interrupt context, but instead released
back to their respective pools. This allows us to remove the garbage
collector in the DLM.

Kieran Bingham 5de0473982 media: vsp1: Provide a body pool
Each display list allocates a body to store register values in a dma
accessible buffer from a dma_alloc_wc() allocation. Each of these
results in an entry in the IOMMU TLB, and a large number of display list
allocations adds pressure to this resource.

Reduce TLB pressure on the IPMMUs by allocating multiple display list
bodies in a single allocation, and providing these to the display list
through a 'body pool'. A pool can be allocated by the display list
manager or entities which require their own body allocations.

Kieran Bingham 0766734197 media: vsp1: Protect bodies against overflow
The body write function relies on the code never asking it to write more
than the entries available in the list.

Currently with each list body containing 256 entries, this is fine, but
we can reduce this number greatly saving memory. In preparation of this
add a level of protection to catch any buffer overflows.

Kieran Bingham 764dfee1a1 media: vsp1: Reword uses of 'fragment' as 'body'
Throughout the codebase, the term 'fragment' is used to represent a
display list body. This term duplicates the 'body' which is already in
use.

The datasheet references these objects as a body, therefore replace all
mentions of a fragment with a body, along with the corresponding
pluralised terms.

Kieran Bingham fce34e49e4 media: vsp1: Move video suspend resume handling to video object
The suspend and resume handlers are only utilised by video pipelines,
yet the functions currently reside in the vsp1_pipe object.

This causes an issue with resume, as the functions incorrectly call
vsp1_pipeline_run() directly instead of processing the video object
through vsp1_video_pipeline_run().

Move the functions to the video object, renaming accordingly and update
the resume handler to call vsp1_video_pipeline_run() as appropriate.

Kieran Bingham 83967993f2 media: vsp1: Release buffers for each video node
Commit 372b2b0399 ("media: v4l: vsp1: Release buffers in
start_streaming error path") introduced a helper to clean up buffers on
error paths, but inadvertently changed the code such that only the
output WPF buffers were cleaned, rather than the video node being
operated on.

Since then vsp1_video_cleanup_pipeline() has grown to perform both video
node cleanup, as well as pipeline cleanup. Split the implementation into
two distinct functions that perform the required work, so that each
video node can release its buffers correctly on streamoff. The pipe
cleanup that was performed in the vsp1_video_stop_streaming() (releasing
the pipe->dl) is moved to the function for clarity.

Laurent Pinchart 5e824f989e media: v4l: vsp1: Integrate DISCOM in display pipeline
The DISCOM is used to compute CRCs on display frames. Integrate it in
the display pipeline at the output of the blending unit to process
output frames.

Computing CRCs on input frames is possible by positioning the DISCOM at
a different point in the pipeline. This use case isn't supported at the
moment and could be implemented by extending the API between the VSP1
and DU drivers if needed.

Laurent Pinchart 33025a5c66 media: v4l: vsp1: Add support for the DISCOM entity
The DISCOM calculates a CRC on a configurable window of the frame. It
interfaces to the VSP through the UIF glue, hence the name used in the
code.

The module supports configuration of the CRC window through the crop
rectangle on the sink pad of the corresponding entity. However, unlike
the traditional V4L2 subdevice model, the crop rectangle does not
influence the format on the source pad.

Modeling the DISCOM as a sink-only entity would allow adhering to the
V4L2 subdevice model at the expense of more complex code in the driver,
as at the hardware level the UIF is handled as a sink+source entity. As
the DISCOM is only present in R-Car Gen3 VSP-D and VSP-DL instances it
is not exposed to userspace through V4L2 but controlled through the DU
driver. We can thus change this model later if needed without fear of
affecting userspace.

Laurent Pinchart cbb7fa49c7 media: v4l: vsp1: Rename BRU to BRx
Some VSP instances have two blending units named BRU (Blend/ROP Unit)
and BRS (Blend/ROP Sub unit). The BRS is a smaller version of the BRU
with only two inputs, but otherwise offers similar features and offers
the same register interface. The BRU and BRS can be used exchangeably in
VSP pipelines (provided no more than two inputs are needed).

Due to historical reasons, the VSP1 driver implements support for both
the BRU and BRS through objects named vsp1_bru. The code uses the name
BRU to refer to either the BRU or the BRS, except in a few places where
noted explicitly. This creates confusion.

In an effort to avoid confusion, rename the vsp1_bru object and the
corresponding API to vsp1_brx, and use BRx to refer to blend unit
instances regardless of their type. The names BRU and BRS are retained
where reference to a particular blend unit type is needed, as well as in
hardware registers to stay close to the datasheet.

The VSPDL variant drives two DU channels through two LIF and two
blenders, BRU and BRS. The DU channels thus share the five available
VSPDL inputs and expose them as five KMS planes.

The current implementation assigns the BRS to the second LIF and thus
artificially limits the number of planes for the second display channel
to two at most.

Lift this artificial limitation by assigning the BRU and BRS to the
display pipelines on demand based on the number of planes used by each
pipeline. When a display pipeline needs more than two inputs and the BRU
is already in use by the other pipeline, this requires reconfiguring the
other pipeline to free the BRU before processing, which can result in
frame drop on both pipelines.

Laurent Pinchart 1dd72ee923 media: v4l: vsp1: Generalize detection of entity removal from DRM pipeline
When disabling a DRM plane, the corresponding RPF is only marked as
removed from the pipeline in the atomic update handler, with the actual
removal happening when configuring the pipeline at atomic commit time.
This is required as the RPF has to be disabled in the hardware, which
can't be done from the atomic update handler.

The current implementation is RPF-specific. Make it independent of the
entity type by using the entity's pipe pointer to mark removal from the
pipeline. This will allow using the mechanism to remove BRU instances.

will thus not setup formats on the BRU sink pads. This isn't a problem
as all inputs are disabled, and the BRU sink pads will be reconfigured
from the atomic commit handler when inputs will be enabled.

The DRM support code manages a pipeline of VSP entities, each backed by
a media entity. When starting or stopping the pipeline, it starts and
stops the media pipeline through the media API in order to store the
pipeline pointer in every entity.

The driver doesn't use the pipe pointer in media entities, neither does
it rely on the other effects of the media_pipeline_start() and
media_pipeline_stop() functions. Furthermore, as the media links for the
DRM pipeline are never set up correctly, and as the pipeline can be
modified dynamically when enabling or disabling planes, the current
implementation is not correct. Remove the incorrect and unneeded code.

While at it remove the outdated comment that states that entities are
not started when the LIF is setup, as they now are.

Kieran Bingham 639fa43d59 media: vsp1: Fix BRx conditional path in WPF
When a BRx is provided by a pipeline, the WPF must determine the master
layer. Currently the condition to check this identifies pipe->bru ||
pipe->num_inputs > 1.

The code then moves on to dereference pipe->bru, thus the check fails
static analysers on the possibility that pipe->num_inputs could be
greater than 1 without pipe->bru being set.

The reality is that the pipeline must have a BRx to support more than
one input, thus this could never cause a fault - however it also
identifies that the num_inputs > 1 check is redundant.

Remove the redundant check - and always configure the master layer
appropriately when we have a BRx configured in our pipeline.

Commit d455b45f83 ("v4l: vsp1: Add support for new VSP2-BS, VSP2-DL,
and VSP2-D instances") added support for the VSP2-D found in the R-Car
V3M (R8A77970) but the video output that VSP2-D sends to DU has a greenish
garbage-like line repeated every 8 screen rows. It turns out that R-Car
V3M has the LIF0 buffer attribute register that you need to set to a non-
default value in order to get rid of the output artifacts.

Greg Kroah-Hartman b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier.  The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.  Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed.  Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.  The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction.  This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg.  Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected.  This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.)  Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Kieran Bingham ab45e85851 media: v4l: vsp1: Allow entities to participate in the partition algorithm
The configuration of the pipeline and entities directly affects the
inputs required to each entity for the partition algorithm. Thus it
makes sense to involve those entities in the decision making process.

Extend the entity ops API to provide an optional .partition() operation.
This allows entities that affect the partition window to adapt the
window based on their configuration.

Entities implementing this operation must update the window parameter in
place, which will then be passed up the pipeline. This creates a process
whereby each entity describes what is required to satisfy the required
output to its predecessor in the pipeline.

Kieran Bingham 5e0594fd77 drm: rcar-du: Repair vblank for DRM page flips using the VSP
The driver recently switched from handling page flip completion in the
DU vertical blanking handler to the VSP frame end handler to fix a race
condition. This unfortunately resulted in incorrect timestamps in the
vertical blanking events sent to userspace as vertical blanking is now
handled after sending the event.

To fix this we must reverse the order of the two operations. The easiest
way is to handle vertical blanking in the VSP frame end handler before
sending the event. The VSP frame end interrupt occurs approximately 50µs
earlier than the DU frame end interrupt, but this should not cause any
undue harm.

As we need to handle vertical blanking even when page flip completion is
delayed, the VSP driver now needs to call the frame end completion
callback unconditionally, with a new argument to report whether page
flip has completed.

With this new scheme the DU vertical blanking interrupt isn't needed
anymore, so we can stop enabling it.

Laurent Pinchart eaf4bfad6a v4l: vsp1: Add support for header display lists in continuous mode
The VSP supports both header and headerless display lists. The latter is
easier to use when the VSP feeds data directly to the DU in continuous
mode, and the driver thus uses headerless display lists for DU operation
and header display lists otherwise.

Headerless display lists are only available on WPF.0. This has never
been an issue so far, as only WPF.0 is connected to the DU. However, on
H3 ES2.0, the VSP-DL instance has both WPF.0 and WPF.1 connected to the
DU. We thus can't use headerless display lists unconditionally for DU
operation.

Implement support for continuous mode with header display lists, and use
it for DU operation on WPF outputs that don't support headerless mode.

Laurent Pinchart 3be0bf9734 v4l: vsp1: Add support for multiple LIF instances
The VSP2-DL instance (present in the H3 ES2.0 and M3-N SoCs) has two LIF
instances. Adapt the driver infrastructure to support multiple LIFs.
Support for multiple display pipelines will be added separately.

The change to the entity routing table removes the ability to connect
the LIF output to the HGO or HGT histogram generators. This feature is
only available on Gen2 hardware, isn't supported by the rest of the
driver, and has no known use case, so this isn't an issue.

Laurent Pinchart 6134148f60 v4l: vsp1: Add support for the BRS entity
The Blend/ROP Sub Unit (BRS) is a stripped-down version of the BRU found
in several VSP2 instances. Compared to a regular BRU, it supports two
inputs only, and thus has no ROP unit.

Add support for the BRS by modelling it as a new entity type, but reuse
the vsp1_bru object underneath. Chaining the BRU and BRS entities seems
to be supported by the hardware but isn't implemented yet as it isn't
the primary use case for the BRS.

Laurent Pinchart a0991c71ea v4l: vsp1: Don't recycle active list at display start
When the display start interrupt occurs, we know that the hardware has
finished loading the active display list. The driver then proceeds to
recycle the list, assuming it won't be needed anymore.

This assumption holds true for headerless display lists, as the VSP
doesn't reload the list for the next frame if it hasn't changed.
However, this isn't true anymore for header display lists, as they are
loaded at every frame start regardless of whether they have been
updated.

To prepare for header display lists usage in display pipelines, we need
to postpone recycling the list until it gets replaced by a new one
through a page flip. The driver already does so in the frame end
interrupt handler, so all we need is to skip list recycling in the
display start interrupt handler.

While the active list can be recycled at display start for headerless
display lists, there's no real harm in postponing that to the frame end
interrupt handler in all cases. This simplifies interrupt handling as we
don't need to process the display start interrupt anymore.

revisited when support for non-coherent buffers will be added to the DU
driver.

Magnus Damm 2cc2137ffb v4l: vsp1: Map the DL and video buffers through the proper bus master
On Gen2 hardware the VSP1 is a bus master and accesses the display list
and video buffers through DMA directly. On Gen3 hardware, however,
memory accesses go through a separate IP core called FCP.

The VSP1 driver unconditionally maps DMA buffers through the VSP device.
While this doesn't cause any practical issue so far, DMA mappings will
be incorrect as soon as we will enable IOMMU support for the FCP on Gen3
platforms, resulting in IOMMU faults.

Fix this by mapping all buffers through the FCP device if present, and
through the VSP1 device as usual otherwise.

Kieran Bingham 4461c84b52 [media] v4l: vsp1: Prevent multiple streamon race commencing pipeline early
With multiple inputs through the BRU it is feasible for the streams to
race each other at stream-on.

Multiple VIDIOC_STREAMON calls racing each other could have process
N-1 skipping over the pipeline setup section and then start the pipeline
early, if videobuf2 has already enqueued buffers to the driver for
process N but not called the .start_streaming() operation yet

In the case of the video pipelines, this
can present two serious issues.

 1) A null-dereference if the pipe->dl is committed at the same time as
    the vsp1_video_setup_pipeline() is processing

 2) A hardware hang, where a display list is committed without having
    called vsp1_video_setup_pipeline() first

Repair this issue, by ensuring that only the stream which configures the
pipeline is able to start it.

The interface to configure the LIF in the VSP1 requires adapting the
function prototype for any changes. This makes extending the interface
difficult.

Change the function prototype to pass a structure which can be easily
extended.

This changes the means of disabling the pipeline, by now passing a NULL
configuration rather than passing either a 0 width or height.

Sakari Ailus 20b8522736 [media] media: Rename graph and pipeline structs and functions
The media_entity_pipeline_start() and media_entity_pipeline_stop()
functions are renamed as media_pipeline_start() and media_pipeline_stop(),
respectively. The reason is two-fold: the pipeline struct is, rightly,
already called media_pipeline (rather than media_entity_pipeline) and what
this really is about is a pipeline. A pipeline consists of entities ---
and, well, other objects embedded in these entities.

As the pipeline object will be in the future moved from entities to pads
in order to support multiple pipelines through a single entity, do the
renaming now.

Similarly, functions operating on struct media_entity_graph as well as the
struct itself are renamed by dropping the "entity_" part from the prefix
of the function family and the data structure. The graph traversal which
is what the functions are about is not specifically about entities only
and will operate on pads for the same reason as the media pipeline.

The patch has been generated using the following command:

git grep -l media_entity |xargs perl -i -pe '
	s/media_entity_pipeline/media_pipeline/g;
	s/media_entity_graph/media_graph/g'

And a few manual edits related to line start alignment and line wrapping.

Adapt vsp1_video_pipeline_run() such that it can iterate each partition
required for constructing this frame's display list chain in the event

vsp1_dl_list_add_chain().

Linking the chained display list headers to process using the auto start
mechanism of the hardware is performed during the vsp1_dl_list_commit().

The partition algorithm needs to determine the capabilities of each
entity in the pipeline to identify the correct maximum partition width.

Extend the vsp1 entity operations to provide a max_width operation and
use this call to calculate the number of partitions that will be

Gen 2 hardware does not require multiple partitioning, and as such
will always return a single partition.

automatically by the hardware, with each list linking to the next. Only
on the last display list will the frame end interrupt be fired to mark
the completion event.

Upon frame-end, the chain will be iterated to release each display list
back to the free list.

The chained lists use case (image partitioning) can require up to 64
lists per frame in the worst case scenario, bump up the number of
preallocated lists.

Replace the current boolean parameter (full / !full) with an explicit
enum.

- VSP1_ENTITY_PARAMS_INIT for parameters to be configured at pipeline
  initialization time only (V4L2 stream on or DRM atomic update)
- VSP1_ENTITY_PARAMS_RUNTIME for all parameters that can be freely
  modified at runtime (through V4L2 controls)

This will allow future extensions when implementing image partitioning
support.

Laurent Pinchart b61bead62e [media] v4l: vsp1: Disable cropping on WPF sink pad
Cropping on the WPF sink pad restricts the left and top coordinates to
0-255. The same result can be obtained by cropping on the RPF without
any such restriction, this feature isn't useful. Disable it.

Kieran Bingham 4c4b57b91b [media] v4l: vsp1: Use DFE instead of FRE for frame end
The DFE and FRE interrupts are both fired at frame completion, as each
display list processes a single frame. This won't be true anymore when
using image partitioning, switch to DFE in preparation.
