Shayne Chen c40b42c2b8 mt76: testmode: add support to set MAC
Add support to set SA/DA/BSSID in testmode.
During mass production stage, some test scripts or test equipments need
to set fixed addresses to detect or parse if a test is passed.
Also, MAC setting is necessary for some tx/rx tests with rx filter,
to make sure rx site only receives expected packets.

Load the default eeprom data when the content of flash/efuse is invalid.

Xing Song dc5399a50b mt76: reverse the first fragmented frame to 802.11
The HW can apply header translation to first fragmented frame, and
ramaining fragmented frame can only keep 802.11 format. Check and
reverse the first fragmented frame to  802.11 format to make sure
them can be defragmented by mac80211.

ieee80211_register_hw() is called with rtnl_lock held, and this could be

Sean Wang 2363b6a646 mt76: mt7921: drop offload_flags overwritten
offload_flags have to be dropped for mt7921 because mt76.omac_idx 0 would
always run as station mode that would cause Tx encapsulation setting
is not applied to mac80211.

Also, drop IEEE80211_OFFLOAD_ENCAP_4ADDR too because it is not really
being supported.

The prima driver facilitates the direct programming of beacon filter tables via
SMD commands.

The purpose of beacon filters is quote:

Add in an equivalent filter set as present in the prima Linux driver.
For now omit the beacon filter "rem" command as the driver does not have an
explicit call to that SMD command. The filter mask should only count when
we are inside BMPS anyway.

Replicating the ability to program the filter table gives us scope to add and
remove elements in future. For now though this patch makes the rote-copy of the
downstream Linux beacon filter table, which we can tweak as desired from now
on.

Bryan O'Donoghue bc4e7f2432 wcn36xx: Fix physical location of beacon filter comment
The comment in the header with respect to beacon filtering makes a
reference to "the structure above" and "the structure below" which would be
informative if the comment appeared in the right place but, it does not.

Fix the comment location so that it a least makes sense w/r/t the physical
location statements.

Anilkumar Kolli 6ac04bdc5e ath11k: Use reserved host DDR addresses from DT for PCI devices
Host DDR memory (contiguous 45 MB in mode-0 or 15 MB in mode-2)
is reserved through DT entries for firmware usage. Send the base
address from DT entries.
If DT entry is available, PCI device will work with
fixed_mem_region else host allocates multiple segments.

IPQ8074 on HK10 board supports multiple PCI devices.
IPQ8074 + QCN9074 is tested with this patch.

David Mosberger-Tang b530d5f39c wilc1000: Improve WILC TX performance when power_save is off
The wakeup and sleep commands need to be sent to the WILC chip only
when it is in power save mode (PSM, as controlled by "iw dev wlan0 set
power_save on/off").  The commands are relatively costly, so it pays
to skip them when possible.

iperf3 without this patch (no significant different with PSM on/off):
  TX   0.00-120.01 sec   140 MBytes  9.82 Mbits/sec
  RX   0.00-120.69 sec   283 MBytes  19.6 Mbits/sec

with this patch applied:

PSM off (TX is 46% improved, RX slightly improved; may not be significant):
  TX   0.00-120.00 sec   206 MBytes  14.4 Mbits/sec
  RX   0.00-120.48 sec   322 MBytes  22.4 Mbits/sec

Merlijn Wajer 97affcfa15 wl1251: specify max. IE length
This fix is similar to commit 77c91295ea ("wil6210: specify max. IE
length").  Without the max IE length set, wpa_supplicant cannot operate
using the nl80211 interface.

This patch is a workaround - the number 512 is taken from the wlcore
driver, but note that per Paul Fertser:

    there's no correct number because the driver will ignore the data
    passed in extra IEs.

This follows normal Linux convention and is more useful since the new
name will make it apparent which network device the work-queue is for
(e.g., the name will be "wlan0-wq" for network device "wlan0").

hif_workqueue allocation has to move from
cfg80211.c:wilc_cfg80211_init() to netdev.c:wilc_netdev_ifc_init()
because the network device name is not known until after the netdev is
registered.  The move also makes sense because netdev.c is already
responsible for destroying the work queue when it is no longer needed.

When deinitializing the driver, one or more "FW not responding" error
appears on the console.  This appears to be due to wilc_wlan_stop()
disabling host/WILC1000 communication, but then right afterwards, it
tries to release the bus with chip-sleep enabled.  The problem is
enabling the chip-sleep cannot success once host/WILC1000
communication is disabled.  Fix by only releasing the bus.

David Mosberger-Tang dde02213fa wilc1000: Remove misleading USE_SPI_DMA macro
The USE_SPI_DMA macro name suggests that it could be set to 1 to
control whether or not SPI DMA should be used.  However, that's not
what it does.  If set to 1, it'll set the SPI messages'
"is_dma_mapped" flag to true, even though the tx/rx buffers aren't
actually DMA mapped by the driver.  In other words, setting this flag
to 1 will break the driver.

Best to clean up this confusion by removing the macro altogether.
There is no need to explicitly initialize "is_dma_mapped" because the
message is cleared to zero anyhow, so "is_dma_mapped" is set to false
by default.

In mode-2 QCN9074 firmware uses 15MB of host memory and firmware
request 1MB size segements in QMI, whereas in mode-0 firmware
uses 45MB of host memory and each segment is of 2MB size.
In mode-2 firmware operates with reduced number of vdevs and peers.

Zhou Qingyang eccd251363 ath11k: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in ath11k_mac_op_hw_scan()
In ath11k_mac_op_hw_scan(), the return value of kzalloc() is directly
used in memcpy(), which may lead to a NULL pointer dereference on
failure of kzalloc().

Fix this bug by adding a check of arg.extraie.ptr.

This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs
differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations
(e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the
inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or
the callers, so they constitute bugs.

Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false
positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed
the bug.

Builds with CONFIG_ATH11K=m show no new warnings, and our static
analyzer no longer warns about this code.

Eric W. Biederman cead185526 exit: Rename complete_and_exit to kthread_complete_and_exit
Update complete_and_exit to call kthread_exit instead of do_exit.

Change the name to reflect this change in functionality.  All of the
users of complete_and_exit are causing the current kthread to exit so
this change makes it clear what is happening.

Move the implementation of kthread_complete_and_exit from
kernel/exit.c to to kernel/kthread.c.  As this function is kthread
specific it makes most sense to live with the kthread functions.

Since these two lockes are both initialized in ath11k_hal_srng_setup,
they are assigned with the same key. As a result lockdep suspects that
the task is trying to acquire the same lock (due to same key) while
already holding it, and thus reports the DEADLOCK warning. However as
they are different spinlock instances, the warning is false positive.

On the other hand, even no dead lock indeed, this is a major issue for
upstream regression testing as it disables lockdep functionality.

Fix it by assigning separate lock class key for each srng->lock.

Set DTIM policy to DTIM stick mode, so station follows AP DTIM
interval rather than listen interval which is set in peer assoc cmd.
DTIM stick mode is more preferred per firmware team request.

to upper layer based on the service bit firmware reported. Driver

Loic Poulain cab2d3fd68 bus: mhi: core: Add support for forced PM resume
For whatever reason, some devices like QCA6390, WCN6855 using ath11k
are not in M3 state during PM resume, but still functional. The
mhi_pm_resume should then not fail in those cases, and let the higher
level device specific stack continue resuming process.

Add an API mhi_pm_resume_force(), to force resuming irrespective of the
current MHI state. This fixes a regression with non functional ath11k WiFi
after suspend/resume cycle on some machines.

Wen Gong 3bf2537ec2 ath10k: drop beacon and probe response which leak from other channel
When scan request on channel 1, it also receive beacon from other
channels, and the beacon also indicate to mac80211 and wpa_supplicant,
and then the bss info appears in radio measurement report of radio
measurement sent from wpa_supplicant, thus lead RRM case fail.

This is to drop the beacon and probe response which is not the same
channel of scanning.

Venkateswara Naralasetty d3d358efc5 ath11k: add spectral/CFR buffer validation support
Currently there is no validation on the spectral/CFR report
over the db ring buffers from the hardware. Improper/incomplete
DMA by the target can result in invalid data received by host.
Due to this we may populate incorrect data to user space.

This buffer validation support fix this issues by filling some
magic value in the buffer during buffer replenish and check for
the magic value in the buffer received by the target. If host
detect magic value in the received buffer it will drop the buffer.

Anilkumar Kolli 7e2ea2e947 ath11k: Process full monitor mode rx support
In full monitor mode, monitor destination ring is read before monitor
status ring. mon_dst_ring has ppdu id, reap till the end of PPDU. Add
all the MPDUs to list. Start processing the status ring, if PPDU id in
status ring is lagging behind, reap the status ring, once the PPDU ID
matches, deliver the MSDU to upper layer. If status PPDU id leading,
reap the mon_dst_ring.

The advantage with full monitor mode is hardware has status buffers
available for all the MPDUs in mon_dst_ring, which makes it possible
to deliver more frames to be seen on sniffer.

In builds with -Warray-bounds, casts from smaller objects to larger
objects will produce warnings. These can be overly conservative, but since

Wen Gong 9f6da09a5f ath11k: enable IEEE80211_HW_SINGLE_SCAN_ON_ALL_BANDS for WCN6855
Currently mac80211 will send 3 scan request for each scan of WCN6855,
they are 2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz band scan. Firmware of WCN6855 will
cache the RNR IE(Reduced Neighbor Report element) which exist in the
beacon of 2.4 GHz/5 GHz of the AP which is co-located with 6 GHz,
and then use the cache to scan in 6 GHz band scan if the 6 GHz scan
is in the same scan with the 2.4 GHz/5 GHz band, this will helpful to
search more AP of 6 GHz. Also it will decrease the time cost of scan
because firmware will use dual-band scan for the 2.4 GHz/5 GHz, it
means the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz scans are doing simultaneously.

Set the flag IEEE80211_HW_SINGLE_SCAN_ON_ALL_BANDS for WCN6855 since
it supports 2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz and it is single pdev which means
all the 2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz exist in the same wiphy/ieee80211_hw.

Sven Eckelmann a658c929de ath11k: Fix buffer overflow when scanning with extraie
If cfg80211 is providing extraie's for a scanning process then ath11k will
copy that over to the firmware. The extraie.len is a 32 bit value in struct
element_info and describes the amount of bytes for the vendor information
elements.

The WMI_TLV packet is having a special WMI_TAG_ARRAY_BYTE section. This
section can have a (payload) length up to 65535 bytes because the
WMI_TLV_LEN can store up to 16 bits. The code was missing such a check and
could have created a scan request which cannot be parsed correctly by the
firmware.

But the bigger problem was the allocation of the buffer. It has to align
the TLV sections by 4 bytes. But the code was using an u8 to store the
newly calculated length of this section (with alignment). And the new
calculated length was then used to allocate the skbuff. But the actual code
to copy in the data is using the extraie.len and not the calculated
"aligned" length.

The length of extraie with IEEE80211_HW_SINGLE_SCAN_ON_ALL_BANDS enabled
was 264 bytes during tests with a QCA Milan card. But it only allocated 8
bytes (264 bytes % 256) for it. As consequence, the code to memcpy the
extraie into the skb was then just overwriting data after skb->end. Things
like shinfo were therefore corrupted. This could usually be seen by a crash
in skb_zcopy_clear which tried to call a ubuf_info callback (using a bogus
address).

While the locking expectations in this driver are a bit unclear, the
Fixed commit only intended to protect the sta_ptr, so we can drop the
lock as soon as we're done with it.

IIUC, this deadlock cannot actually happen, because command event
processing (which calls mwifiex_process_sta_tx_pause()) is
sequentialized with TX packet processing (e.g.,
mwifiex_dequeue_tx_packet()) via the main loop (mwifiex_main_process()).
But it's good not to leave this potential issue lurking.

Ping-Ke Shih a58fdb7c84 rtw89: don't kick off TX DMA if failed to write skb
This is found by Smatch static checker warning:
	drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtw89/mac80211.c:31 rtw89_ops_tx()
	error: uninitialized symbol 'qsel'.

The warning is because 'qsel' isn't filled by rtw89_core_tx_write() due to
failed to write. The way to fix it is to avoid kicking off TX DMA, so add
'return' to the failure case.

Zong-Zhe Yang c2258b2998 rtw89: remove cch_by_bw which is not used
Originally, cch_by_bw recorded center channels of each available
bandwidths under current bandwidth. And the plan was to iterate
cch_by_bw as parameters to query other configurations. However,
we have not used it for the time being. Keeping it will disturb
the follow-up things, such as bandwidth 160 MHz, so we remove it
for now. If it's really needed at some point, we will redesign it.

Ping-Ke Shih 40822e0790 rtw89: fix sending wrong rtwsta->mac_id to firmware to fill address CAM
With wrong rtwsta->mac_id, it can't send out ack properly when we receive
assoc response occasionally. Then, it failed to connect an AP.

The cause is that we store 'sta' and use it somewhere. To correct this,
remove the variable and use mac_id in drv_priv of 'sta' or 'vif' passed
by mac80211.

Yan-Hsuan Chuang 1379e62026 rtw88: add debugfs to fix tx rate
It is useful to fix the bit rate of TX packets. For example, if
someone is measuring the TX power, or debugging with the issues
of the TX throughput on the field.

To set the value of fixed rate, one should input corresponding
desc rate index (ex, 0x0b for DESC_RATE54M to fix at 54 Mbps).
Set a value larger than DESC_RATE_MAX will disable fix rate, so
the rate adaptive mechanism can resume to work.

Example,
  To fix rate at MCS 1:
  echo 0x0d > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/rtw88/fix_rate

  To not to fix rate:
  echo 0xff > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/rtw88/fix_rate

  To know which rate was fixed at:

Po Hao Huang eb4e52b3f3 rtw89: fix incorrect channel info during scan
We used to fill in rx skbs' frequency field by mac80211's current
channel value. In some cases, mac80211 switches channel before all
rx packets have been processed. This results in incorrect bss info.
We fix this by filling in frequency field with channel index obtained
from hardware, then fix potential cck missing issue by skb's original
hw rate. After all fix is done, convert hw rate back to the supported
band rate index.

Arnd Bergmann c68115fc53 brcmsmac: rework LED dependencies
This is now the only driver that selects the LEDS_CLASS framework,
which is normally user-selectable. While it doesn't strictly cause
a bug, rework the Kconfig logic to be more consistent with what
other drivers do, and only enable LED support in brcmsmac if the
dependencies are all there, rather than using 'select' to enable
what it needs.

For iwlwifi, the dependency is wrong, since this config prevents the
MAC80211_LEDS code from being part of a built-in MAC80211 driver.

For iwlegacy, this is worse because the driver tries to force-enable
the other subsystems, which is both a layering violation and a bug
because it will still fail with MAC80211=y and IWLEGACY=m, leading
to LEDS_CLASS being a module as well.

The actual link failure in the ath5k driver is a result of MAC80211_LEDS
being enabled but not usable. With the Kconfig logic fixed in the
Intel drivers, the ath5k driver works as expected again.

Sebastian Gottschall e8a91863eb ath10k: Fix tx hanging
While running stress tests in roaming scenarios (switching ap's every 5
seconds, we discovered a issue which leads to tx hangings of exactly 5
seconds while or after scanning for new accesspoints. We found out that
this hanging is triggered by ath10k_mac_wait_tx_complete since the
empty_tx_wq was not wake when the num_tx_pending counter reaches zero.
To fix this, we simply move the wake_up call to htt_tx_dec_pending,
since this call was missed on several locations within the ath10k code.

Wen Gong dddaa64d0a ath11k: add wait operation for tx management packets for flush from mac80211
In ath11k, tx of management packet is doing in a work queue. Sometimes
the workqueue does not finish tx immediately, then it lead after the next
step of vdev delete finished, it start to send the management packet to
firmware and lead firmware crash.

ieee80211_set_disassoc() have logic of ieee80211_flush_queues() after
it send_deauth_disassoc() to ath11k, its purpose is make sure the
deauth was actually sent, so it need to change ath11k to match the
purpose of mac80211.

To address these issue wait for tx mgmt as well as tx data packets.

Christophe JAILLET 6273c97296 carl9170: Use the bitmap API when applicable
Use 'bitmap_zalloc()' to simplify code, improve the semantic and avoid some
open-coded arithmetic in allocator arguments.

Note, that this 'bitmap_zalloc()' divides by BITS_PER_LONG the amount of
memory allocated.
The 'roundup()' used to computed the number of needed long should have
been a DIV_ROUND_UP.


Also change the corresponding 'kfree()' into 'bitmap_free()' to keep
consistency.

Use 'bitmap_zero()' to avoid hand writing it.

Loic Poulain 09cab4308b wcn36xx: Fix max channels retrieval
Kernel test robot reported:drivers/net/wireless/ath/wcn36xx/smd.c:943:33:
   sparse: sparse: cast truncates bits from constant value (780 becomes 80)

The 'channels' field is not a simple u8 array but an array of
channel_params. Using sizeof for retrieving the max number of
channels is then wrong.

In practice, it was not an issue, because the sizeof returned
value is 780, which is truncated in min_t (u8) to 80, which is
the value we expect...

Fix that properly using ARRAY_SIZE instead of sizeof.

Wen Gong 9dcf6808b2 ath11k: add 11d scan offload support
Add handler for WMI_11D_NEW_COUNTRY_EVENTID, WMI_11D_SCAN_START_CMDID,
WMI_11D_SCAN_STOP_CMDID.

After vdev create for STATION, send WMI_11D_SCAN_START_CMDID to firmware
and wait firmware complete it, the scan from mac80211 also need to wait
the 11d scan finished, and send WMI_11D_SCAN_STOP_CMDID to firmware
before vdev delete for STATION.

Wen Gong ed05c7cf12 ath11k: avoid deadlock by change ieee80211_queue_work for regd_update_work
When enable debug config, it print below warning while shut down wlan
interface shuh as run "ifconfig wlan0 down".

The reason is because ar->regd_update_work is ran once, and it is will
call wiphy_lock(ar->hw->wiphy) in function ath11k_regd_update() which
is running in workqueue of ieee80211_local queued by ieee80211_queue_work().
Another thread from "ifconfig wlan0 down" will also accuqire the lock
by wiphy_lock(sdata->local->hw.wiphy) in function ieee80211_stop(), and
then it call ieee80211_stop_device() to flush_workqueue(local->workqueue),
this will wait the workqueue of ieee80211_local finished. Then deadlock
will happen easily if the two thread run meanwhile.

Below warning disappeared after this change.

Arnd Bergmann 977df8bd58 iwlwifi: work around reverse dependency on MEI
If the iwlmei code is a loadable module, the main iwlwifi driver
cannot be built-in:

Unfortunately, Kconfig enforces the opposite, forcing the MEI driver to
not be built-in if iwlwifi is a module.

To work around this, decouple iwlmei from iwlwifi and add the
dependency in the other direction.

Johannes Berg 4b992db6eb iwlwifi: mvm: optionally suppress assert log
Normally, when we hit an assert, we print out all the
assert data. However, in certain tests, when we trigger
it from debugfs intentionally, that can be useless and
confusing.

Allow writing the string "nolog\n" to the fw_nmi and
fw_restart files suppressing the assert dump as well
as - in the case of fw_restart - the

Johannes Berg 23a392a44a iwlwifi: implement reset flow for Bz devices
On Bz devices, UREG_DOORBELL_TO_ISR6_NMI_BIT no longer actually
triggers an NMI. So instead of setting BIT(0) | BIT(1) for the
reset flow, we need to just set BIT(1) and then force the NMI
in the new way.

Johannes Berg 15bf5ac6cd iwlwifi: pcie: retake ownership after reset
In most cases, unless shutting down the NIC, we really need
to retake ownership after doing a software reset of the NIC.
Encode that into the API so we "automatically" do it, even
in case of workarounds, and don't keep forgetting it like a
few of the places we have did.

Johannes Berg b780c10f1f iwlwifi: mvm: always use 4K RB size by default
When we use 2K RBs, we cannot receive all valid 802.11 frames,
including e.g. long beacons, since up to 2304 bytes are valid
(plus metadata and also encryption overhead etc.). Increase
the RB size to be always 4K to avoid that.

Ilan Peer ba16c04fab iwlwifi: mvm: Add support for a new version of scan request command
The scan request command is identical in binary format to the previous
scan request command and the only change is now a previously reserved
octet is used to indicate new flags introduced in the command. Align
the code to support the new version and the previous one.

Later patches would add the specific handling for the new
flags.

Johannes Berg c48e93a654 iwlwifi: mvm: support RLC configuration command
There's an RLC configuration command in the firmware that's
going to replace the chain information in the PHY context.
Add support for this command, while leaving the PHY context
fields unset when we know the RLC command will be used.

Also add support to send only the RLC configuration command
if only the # of chains used on the PHY context changes.

Johannes Berg 2dc977423c iwlwifi: mvm: d3: support v12 wowlan status
Newer firmware versions are going to come with a new version
of the wowlan status API, which gives us replay counters for
both GTKs that might still be in use, as well as unifying the
layout of the counters to just be 64-bit quantities.

Extend our code to handle this case and be able to install
replay counters for both keys, if they're sent up from the
firmware.

Mike Golant 55c6d8f89d iwlwifi: support 4-bits in MAC step value
We have a MAC component (which is inside the SoC) and it has several
different HW steps.  3 bits used to be enough but now we need 4-bits
to represent all the different steps.

Properly support 4-bits in the MAC step value by refactoring all the
current handling of the MAC step/dash.

Already from family 8000 and up the dash (bits 0-1) no longer exists
and the step (until 8000 bits 2-3) consists of the dash bits as well.

To do this remove the CSR_HW_REV_STEP and the CSR_HW_REV_DASH
macros, replace them with CSR_HW_REV_STEP_DASH and add hw_rev_step
into the trans struct.

In addition remove the CSR_HW_IF_CONFIG_REG_MSK_MAC_STEP and
CSR_HW_IF_CONFIG_REG_MSK_MAC_DASH macros and create a new macro
combining the 2 (this way we don't need shifting or anything else.)

Johannes Berg db66abeea3 iwlwifi: mvm: synchronize with FW after multicast commands
If userspace installs a lot of multicast groups very quickly, then
we may run out of command queue space as we send the updates in an
asynchronous fashion (due to locking concerns), and the CPU can
create them faster than the firmware can process them. This is true
even when mac80211 has a work struct that gets scheduled.

Fix this by synchronizing with the firmware after sending all those
commands - outside of the iteration we can send a synchronous echo
command that just has the effect of the CPU waiting for the prior
asynchronous commands to finish. This also will cause fewer of the
commands to be sent to the firmware overall, because the work will
only run once when rescheduled multiple times while it's running.

If we happen to decide an NSSN queue sync (IWL_MVM_RXQ_NSSN_SYNC)
for some remaining packets that are still on the queue, but just
after we've decided to do a delBA (which causes its own queues
sync with IWL_MVM_RXQ_NOTIF_DEL_BA) we can end up with a sequence
of events like this:

Thus, there's a race that leads in hitting the WARN_ON, but more
importantly, it's a race that potentially even results in a new
aggregation session getting assigned to baid N.

To fix this, remove the WARN_ON() in the NSSN_SYNC case, we can't
completely protect against hitting this case, so we shouldn't be
warning. However, guard ourselves against BAID reuse by doing yet
another round of queue synchronization after the entry is removed
from the baid_map, so that it cannot be reused with any in-flight
IWL_MVM_RXQ_NSSN_SYNC messages.

Wen Gong cea7f78d85 ath11k: change to use dynamic memory for channel list of scan
Currently there are about 60 channels for 6 GHz, then the size of
chan_list in struct scan_req_params which is 40 is not enough to
fill all the channel list of 6 GHz.

Ath11k fails to probe WCN6855 hw2.1 chip:

[ 6.983841] ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: Unsupported WCN6855 SOC hardware version: 18 17

This is caused by the wrong bit mask setting of hardware major version:
for QCA6390/QCN6855, it should be BIT8-11, not BIT8-16, so change the
definition to GENMASK(11, 8).

Also, add a separate entry for WCN6855 hw2.1 in ath11k_hw_params.

Please note that currently WCN6855 hw2.1 shares the same firmwares

Jonas Jelonek 7f3a6f5dd2 ath9k: switch to rate table based lookup
This patch changes mac80211 rate control for the ath9k driver.  The rate lookup
per packet is changed from legacy usage of ieee80211_get_tx_rates() to the new
rate table based lookup in struct ieee80211_sta->rates.

The most recent rate control API, introduced with commit 0d528d85c5
("mac80211: improve the rate control API"), allows drivers to directly get
rates from ieee80211_sta->rates. This is not used by every driver yet, the
translation/merge is currently performed in ieee80211_get_tx_rates.  This patch
changes the behaviour and avoids the call to ieee80211_get_tx_rates and
subsequent calls. ath9k now directly reads rates from sta->rates into its rate
table. Cause ath9k does not expect rate selection in SKB->CB, the table merge
does not consider rate array in SKB->CB except for the first entry (used for
probing).

Tested with a 8devices Rambutan with QCA9558 SoC by performing two runs, one
without the patch and one with. Generated traffic between AP and multiple STAs
in each run, measured throughput and captured rc_stats.  Comparison of both
runs resulted in same rate selection and no performance loss or other negative
effects.

On an imx6dl-pico-pi board with a QCA9377 SDIO chip, simply trying to
connect via ssh to another machine causes:

"I was able to narrow the issue down to the mtu. If I set the mtu for
the wlan0 device to 1486 instead of 1500, the issue does not happen.

The size of frames that I see on Wireshark is exactly 1500 after
setting it to 1486."

Clearing the HI_ACS_FLAGS_ALT_DATA_CREDIT_SIZE avoids the problem and
the ssh command works successfully after that.

Introduce a 'credit_size_workaround' field to ath10k_hw_params for
the QCA9377 SDIO, so that the HI_ACS_FLAGS_ALT_DATA_CREDIT_SIZE
is not set in this case.

Tested with QCA9377 SDIO with firmware WLAN.TF.1.1.1-00061-QCATFSWPZ-1.

Lv Yunlong f973795a8d wireless: iwlwifi: Fix a double free in iwl_txq_dyn_alloc_dma
In iwl_txq_dyn_alloc_dma, txq->tfds is freed at first time by:
iwl_txq_alloc()->goto err_free_tfds->dma_free_coherent(). But
it forgot to set txq->tfds to NULL.

Then the txq->tfds is freed again in iwl_txq_dyn_alloc_dma by:
goto error->iwl_txq_gen2_free_memory()->dma_free_coherent().

My patch sets txq->tfds to NULL after the first free to avoid the
double free.

Currently 'ar' reference is not added in skb_cb during
WMI mgmt tx. Though this is generally not used during tx completion
callbacks, on interface removal the remaining idr cleanup callback

Stanislaw Gruszka ed53ae7569 rt2x00: do not mark device gone on EPROTO errors during start
As reported by Exuvo is possible that we have lot's of EPROTO errors
during device start i.e. firmware load. But after that device works
correctly. Hence marking device gone by few EPROTO errors done by
commit e383c70474 ("rt2x00: check number of EPROTO errors") caused
regression - Exuvo device stop working after kernel update. To fix
disable the check during device start.

Zekun Shen f1cb3476e4 rsi: Fix out-of-bounds read in rsi_read_pkt()
rsi_get_* functions rely on an offset variable from usb
input. The size of usb input is RSI_MAX_RX_USB_PKT_SIZE(3000),
while 2-byte offset can be up to 0xFFFF. Thus a large offset
can cause out-of-bounds read.

The patch adds a bound checking condition when rcv_pkt_len is 0,
indicating it's USB. It's unclear whether this is triggerable
from other type of bus. The following check might help in that case.
offset > rcv_pkt_len - FRAME_DESC_SZ

The bug is trigerrable with conpromised/malfunctioning USB devices.
I tested the patch with the crashing input and got no more bug report.

When freeing rx_cb->rx_skb, the pointer is not set to NULL,
a later rsi_rx_done_handler call will try to read the freed
address.
This bug will very likley lead to double free, although
detected early as use-after-free bug.

The bug is triggerable with a compromised/malfunctional usb
device. After applying the patch, the same input no longer
triggers the use-after-free.

Loic Poulain 7a6cfe28ae brcmfmac: Configure keep-alive packet on suspend
When entering suspend as a client station with wowlan enabled,
the Wi-Fi link is supposed to be maintained. In that state, no
more data is generated from client side, and the link stays idle
as long the station is suspended and as long the AP as no data to
transmit.

However, most of the APs kick-off such 'inactive' stations after
few minutes, causing unexpected disconnect (reconnect, etc...).

The usual way to prevent this is to submit a Null function frame
periodically as a keep-alive. This is something that can be host
/software generated (e.g. wpa_supplicant), but that needs to be
offloaded to the Wi-Fi controller in case of suspended host.

This change enables firmware generated keep-alive frames when
entering wowlan suspend, using the 'mkeep_alive' IOVAR.

Miri Korenblit 75c5bd68b6 ieee80211: change HE nominal packet padding value defines
It's easier to use and understand, and to extend for EHT later,
if we use the values here instead of the shifted values.

Unfortunately, we need to add _POS so that we can use it in
places like iwlwifi/mvm where constants are needed.

While at it, fix the typo ("NOMIMAL") which also helps catch any
conflicts.

Emmanuel Grumbach 6d19a5eba5 iwlwifi: integrate with iwlmei
iwlmei needs to know about the follwing events:

* Association
* De-association
* Country Code change
* SW Rfkill change
* SAR table changes

iwlmei can take the device away from us, so report the new
rfkill type when this happens.
Advertise the required data from the CSME firmware to the
usersapce: mostly, the AP that the CSME firmware is currently
associated to in case there is an active link protection
session.
Generate the HOST_ASSOC / HOST_DISSASSOC messages.

Don't support WPA1 (non-RSNA) for now.
Don't support shared wep either.
We can then determine the AUTH parameter by checking the AKM.
Feed the cipher from the key installation.

SW Rfkill will be implemented later when cfg80211 will
allow us to read the SW Rfkill state.

Emmanuel Grumbach 4ea7da5fad iwlwifi: mei: add debugfs hooks
Add three debugfs hooks:
* status: Check if we have a connection with the CSME
  firwmare. This hook is a read only.

* req_ownership: Send a SAP command to request ownership. This
  flow should be triggered by iwlwifi (from user space through
  vendor commands really), but being able to trigger an ownership
  request from debugfs allows us to request ownership without
  connecting afterwards. This is an "error" flow that the CSME
  firmware is designed to handle this way:
  + Grant ownership since the host asked for it
  + Wait 3 seconds to let the host connect
  + If the host didn't connect, take the device back (forcefully).
  + Don't grant any new ownership request in the following 30
  seconds.
  This debugfs hook allows us to test this flow.

* send_start_message: Restart the communication with the CSME
  firmware from the very beginning. At the very beginning (upon
  iwlwifi start), iwlmei send a special message: SAP_ME_MSG_START.
  This hook allows to send it again and this will retrigger the
  whole flow. It is important to test this restart in the middle
  of normal operation since it can happen (in case the CSME
  firmware decided to reset for example).

Emmanuel Grumbach 2da4366f9e iwlwifi: mei: add the driver to allow cooperation with CSME
CSME in two words
-----------------
CSME stands for Converged Security and Management Engine. It is
a CPU on the chipset and runs a dedicated firmware.
AMT (Active Management Technology) is one of the applications
that run on that CPU. AMT allows to control the platform remotely.
Here is a partial list of the use cases:
* View the screen of the plaform, with keyboard and mouse (KVM)
* Attach a remote IDE device
* Have a serial console to the device
* Query the state of the platform
* Reset / shut down / boot the platform

Networking in CSME
------------------
For those uses cases, CSME's firmware has an embedded network
stack and is able to use the network devices of the system: LAN
and WLAN. This is thanks to the CSME's firmware WLAN driver.

One can add a profile (SSID / key / certificate) to the CSME's OS
and CSME will connect to that profile. Then, one can use the WLAN
link to access the applications that run on CSME (AMT is one of
them). Note that CSME is active during power state and power state
transitions. For example, it is possible to have a KVM session
open to the system while the system is rebooting and actually
configure the BIOS remotely over WLAN thanks to AMT.

How all this is related to Linux
--------------------------------
In Linux, there is a driver that allows the OS to talk to the
CSME firmware, this driver is drivers/misc/mei. This driver
advertises a bus that allows other kernel drivers or even user
space) to talk to components inside the CSME firmware.
In practice, the system advertises a PCI device that allows
to send / receive data to / from the CSME firmware. The mei
bus drivers in drivers/misc/mei is an abstration on top of
this PCI device.
The driver being added here is called iwlmei and talks to the
WLAN driver inside the CSME firmware through the mei bus driver.
Note that the mei bus driver only gives bus services, it doesn't
define the content of the communication.

Why do we need this driver?
--------------------------
CSME uses the same WLAN device that the OS is expecting to see
hence we need an arbitration mechanism. This is what iwlmei is
in charge of. iwlmei maintains the communication with the CSME
firmware's WLAN driver. The language / protocol that is used
between the CSME's firmware WLAN driver and iwlmei is OS agnostic
and is called SAP which stands for Software Abritration Protocol.
With SAP, iwlmei will be able to tell the CSME firmware's WLAN
driver:
1) Please give me the device.
2) Please note that the SW/HW rfkill state change.
3) Please note that I am now associated to X.
4) Please note that I received this packet.
etc...

There are messages that go the opposite direction as well:
1) Please note that AMT is en/disable.
2) Please note that I believe the OS is broken and hence I'll take
   the device *now*, whether you like it or not, to make sure that
   connectivity is preserved.
3) Please note that I am willing to give the device if the OS
   needs it.
4) Please give me any packet that is sent on UDP / TCP on IP address
   XX.XX.XX.XX and an port ZZ.
5) Please send this packet.
etc...

Please check drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/mei/sap.h for the
full protocol specification.

Arbitration is not the only purpose of iwlmei and SAP. SAP also
allows to maintain the AMT's functionality even when the OS owns
the device. To connect to AMT, one needs to initiate an HTTP
connection to port 16992. iwlmei will listen to the Rx path and
forward (through SAP) to the CSME firmware the data it got. Then,
the embedded HTTP server in the chipset will reply to the request
and send a SAP notification to ask iwlmei to send the reply.
This way, AMT running on the CSME can still work.

In practice this means that all the use cases quoted above (KVM,
remote IDE device, etc...) will work even when the OS uses the
WLAN device.

How to disable all this?
---------------------------
iwlmei won't be able to do anything if the CSME's networking stack
is not enabled. By default, CSME's networking stack is disabled (this
is a BIOS setting).
In case the CSME's networking stack is disabled, iwlwifi will just
get access to the device because there is no contention with any other
actor and, hence, no arbitration is needed.

In this patch, I only add the iwlmei driver. Integration with
iwlwifi will be implemented in the next one.

Jonas Dreßler 84d94e16ef mwifiex: Ignore BTCOEX events from the 88W8897 firmware
The firmware of the 88W8897 PCIe+USB card sends those events very
unreliably, sometimes bluetooth together with 2.4ghz-wifi is used and no
COEX event comes in, and sometimes bluetooth is disabled but the
coexistance mode doesn't get disabled.

This means we sometimes end up capping the rx/tx window size while
bluetooth is not enabled anymore, artifically limiting wifi speeds even
though bluetooth is not being used.

Since we can't fix the firmware, let's just ignore those events on the
88W8897 device. From some Wireshark capture sessions it seems that the
Windows driver also doesn't change the rx/tx window sizes when bluetooth
gets enabled or disabled, so this is fairly consistent with the Windows
driver.

Jonas Dreßler 939b571a3b mwifiex: Add quirk to disable deep sleep with certain hardware revision
The 88W8897 PCIe+USB card in the hardware revision 20 apparently has a
hardware issue where the card wakes up from deep sleep randomly and very
often, somewhat depending on the card activity, maybe the hardware has a
floating wakeup pin or something. This was found by comparing two MS
Surface Book 2 devices, where one devices wifi card experienced spurious
wakeups, while the other one didn't.

Those continuous wakeups prevent the card from entering host sleep when
the computer suspends. And because the host won't answer to events from
the card anymore while it's suspended, the firmwares internal power
saving state machine seems to get confused and the card can't sleep
anymore at all after that.

Since we can't work around that hardware bug in the firmware, let's
get the hardware revision string from the firmware and match it with
known bad revisions. Then disable auto deep sleep for those revisions,
which makes sure we no longer get those spurious wakeups.

Zekun Shen 04d80663f6 mwifiex: Fix skb_over_panic in mwifiex_usb_recv()
Currently, with an unknown recv_type, mwifiex_usb_recv
just return -1 without restoring the skb. Next time
mwifiex_usb_rx_complete is invoked with the same skb,
calling skb_put causes skb_over_panic.

The bug is triggerable with a compromised/malfunctioning
usb device. After applying the patch, skb_over_panic
no longer shows up with the same input.

Yu-Yen Ting 2f1367b564 rtw88: follow the AP basic rates for tx mgmt frame
By default the driver uses the 1M and 6M rate for managemnt frames
in 2G and 5G bands respectively. But when the basic rates is
configured from the mac80211, we need to send the management frames
according to the basic rates.

This commit makes the driver use the lowest basic rates to send
the management frames.

Ping-Ke Shih 30101812a0 rtw89: fix potentially access out of range of RF register array
The RF register array is used to help firmware to restore RF settings.
The original code can potentially access out of range, if the size is
between (RTW89_H2C_RF_PAGE_SIZE * RTW89_H2C_RF_PAGE_NUM + 1) to
((RTW89_H2C_RF_PAGE_SIZE + 1) * RTW89_H2C_RF_PAGE_NUM). Fortunately,
current used size doesn't fall into the wrong case, and the size will not
change if we don't update RF parameter.

Kees Cook fb5f6a0e80 mac80211: Use memset_after() to clear tx status
In preparation for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time
field bounds checking for memset(), avoid intentionally writing across
neighboring fields.

Use memset_after() so memset() doesn't get confused about writing
beyond the destination member that is intended to be the starting point
of zeroing through the end of the struct.

Additionally fix the common helper, ieee80211_tx_info_clear_status(),
which was not clearing ack_signal, but the open-coded versions
did. Johannes Berg points out this bug was introduced by commit

Loic Poulain 23cddeb5a7 wcn36xx: Use correct SSN for ADD BA request
Since firmware uses its own sequence number counters, we need to
use firmware number as well when mac80211 generates the ADD_BA
request packet. Indeed the firmware sequence counters tend to
slightly drift from the mac80211 ones because of firmware offload
features like ARP responses. This causes the starting sequence
number field of the ADD_BA request to be unaligned, and can possibly
cause issues with strict/picky APs.

To fix this, we retrieve the current firmware sequence number for
a given TID through the smd_trigger_ba API, and use that number as
replacement of the mac80211 starting sequence number.

This change also ensures that any issue in the smd *ba procedures
will cause the ba action to properly fail, and remove useless call
to smd_trigger_ba() from IEEE80211_AMPDU_RX_START.

Kees Cook d5549e9a6b ath11k: Use memset_startat() for clearing queue descriptors
In preparation for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time
field bounds checking for memset(), avoid intentionally writing across
neighboring fields.

Use memset_startat() so memset() doesn't get confused about writing
beyond the destination member that is intended to be the starting point
of zeroing through the end of the struct. Additionally split up a later
field-spanning memset() so that memset() can reason about the size.

Ping-Ke Shih 5737b4515d rtw89: update partition size of firmware header on skb->data
The partition size is used to tell hardware the size of piece we are going
to send a firmware. The old code updates the size in constant buffer of
firmware, and leads system crash.

To fix this, update the size on skb->data after we copy the firmware data
into skb.

Mordechay Goodstein 5283dd677e iwlwifi: mvm: retry init flow if failed
In some very rare cases the init flow may fail.  In many cases, this is
recoverable, so we can retry.  Implement a loop to retry two more times
after the first attempt failed.

This can happen in two different situations, namely during probe and
during mac80211 start.  For the first case, a simple loop is enough.
For the second case, we need to add a flag to prevent mac80211 from
trying to restart it as well, leaving full control with the driver.

Wen Gong a4146249a3 ath11k: skip sending vdev down for channel switch
The ath11k driver currently sends vdev down to the firmware before
updating the channel context, which is followed by a vdev restart
command.

Sending vdev down is not required before sending a vdev restart,
because the firmware internally does vdev down when ath11k sends
a vdev restart command.

Firmware will happen crash while channel switch without this change.

Hence skip the vdev down command sending when updating the channel
context and then fix the firmware crash issue.

Wen Gong 1370634054 ath11k: fix read fail for htt_stats and htt_peer_stats for single pdev
The pdev id is set to 0 for single pdev configured hardware, the real
pdev id is not 0 in firmware, for example, its pdev id is 1 for 5G/6G
phy and 2 for 2G band phy. For HTT_H2T_MSG_TYPE_EXT_STATS_CFG message,
firmware parse the pdev_mask to its pdev id, ath11k set it to 0 for
single pdev, it is not correct, need set it with the real pdev id of
firmware.

Save the real pdev id report by firmware and set it correctly.

Below commands run success with this patch:

Baochen Qiang e94b07493d ath11k: Set IRQ affinity to CPU0 in case of one MSI vector
With VT-d disabled on Intel platform, ath11k gets only one MSI
vector. In that case, ath11k does not free IRQ when doing suspend,
hence the kernel has to migrate it to CPU0 (if it was affine to
other CPUs) and allocates a new MSI vector. However, ath11k has
no chance to reconfig it to HW srngs during this phase, thus
ath11k fails to resume.

This issue can be fixed by setting IRQ affinity to CPU0 before
request_irq is called. With such affinity, migration will not
happen and thus the vector keeps unchanged during suspend/resume.

Carl Huang 915a081ff3 ath11k: do not restore ASPM in case of single MSI vector
Current code enables ASPM by default, it allows MHI to enter M2 state.
In case of one MSI vector, system hang is observed if ath11k does MHI
register reading in this state. The issue was reported on Dell XPS 13
9310 but is seen also on XPS 15 and XPS 17 laptops.

The workaround here is to prevent MHI from entering M2 state, this can
be done by disabling ASPM if only one MSI vector is used. When using 32
vectors ASPM is enabled as before.

Carl Huang ac6e73483f ath11k: add support one MSI vector
On some platforms it's not possible to allocate 32 MSI vectors for various
reasons, be it kernel configuration, VT-d disabled, buggy BIOS etc. So
ath11k was not able to use QCA6390 PCI devices on those platforms. Add
support for one MSI vector to solve that.

In case of one MSI vector, interrupt migration needs to be disabled.  This
is because when interrupt migration happens, the msi_data may change.
However, msi_data is already programmed to rings during initial phase and
ath11k has no way to know that msi_data is changed during run time and
reprogram again.

In case of one MSI vector, MHI subsystem should not use IRQF_NO_SUSPEND
as QCA6390 doesn't set this flag too. Ath11k doesn't need to leave
IRQ enabled in suspend state.

Carl Huang 4ab4693f32 ath11k: use ATH11K_PCI_IRQ_DP_OFFSET for DP IRQ

Carl Huang 01279bcd01 ath11k: add CE and ext IRQ flag to indicate irq_handler
This change adds two flags to indicate whether IRQ handler for CE
and DP can be called. This is because in one MSI vector case,
interrupt is not disabled in hif_stop and hif_irq_disable. Otherwise,
MHI interrupt is disabled too.
